As I was asking a several questions to one of the rep on the phone, I heard another rep making a very rude comment about me, which she did not expect me to hear it. But I did. Who do you think is paying your salary??!!! Local customers like us. Very disappointed.

Good reviews shouldn't count if they came from staff. The owners are totally incompetent on how to run a compounding pharmacy and don't realize how important it was to keep loyal, dependable and dedicated employees that cared about the patients. Most of the staff there now are old employees that were terminated for extremely serious reasons and were rehired back out of desperation . I denied this job with the new owners because of the communication he had with us. He cut our pay due to low or numbers when I denied it I laughed and said we will see your numbers in a few months and. It didnt take long for people to start pulling prescriptions from them. Just an FYI. I'm not a disgruntled employee I have an amazing job and life right now but its not a safe environment for your sterile or regular compounds .So find a good pharmacy ask your Dr for recommendations.

First of all, I am a medical provider here in Albuquerque. One the one occasion I attempted to use this pharmacy, it was a total nightmare. I left a voicemail THREE time with the prescription line with patient's info, my info, prescription info, and my office info. Never got filled. I then attempted to call and speak to the pharmacist. Was on hold 7 minutes before being disconnected. Providers, if you're looking for a compounding pharmacy, do yourself a favor and use Walgreens, Menual Compounding, or Sam's Regent and stay FAR away from these guys. What a joke, and a total waste of my time!

I have been with Highland Pharmacy for a few years for my compound medication for hormone therapy and pay cash. If you are a lady that uses a hormone medication knows how important it is to use as prescribed. I am very upset about how Leo at this pharmacy has treated myself nd my Dr office. He is uncaring and disrespectful torwards women. My experience was stressfull. My Dr office sent the ok to fill my Rx on Mon Aug 24th. I waited until Wednesday to check on my Rx because I hadnt got my call that it is ready for pickup. The standard time to fill is 48hrs. It was passed the 48. When I called, Leo answered and said that my Rx would not be ready until Friday the 30th after 5pm. He explained the 48hrs to me (as if I didn't know). He treated me as if I was stupid. He said my Rx was approved on Tuesday Aug 25th. Well it isn't it more than 48hr that my Rx wouldn't be ready until Friday Aug 28th after 5pm??? I was without my Rx since Wednesday. My Dr office called twice to talk to someone to see if they can fill right away, they got no where and was told they can only speak to Leo. I called again on Thursday and Leo told me that he didn't control the pharmacy lab and hung up the phone on me. When I did picked up my med at drive thru, Leo was very rude and said "it was being "checked out" and told me to drive around the drive thru AGAIN while "it was being prepared". Is this how a professional is to refer to a medication, by referring to the medication as IT. After I paid he gave me my Rx, Leo slammed the window closed very hard.... I will never return to this pharmacy. I feel very saddened and disrespected by the treatment I received. Not to mention the unprofessionalism. Leo wears Several gage ear piercings. His appearance made me feel as if he doesnt know the importance of medication for his customers and the side affects of being without medication for days. I will be filing a formal complaint and grievance...There are other compound medication pharmacies available. I'm completely happy to move on...

Needed a compounded script for my daughter that the insurance would not cover. Walgreens wanted $400 for a medication they offered for $49. They made sure we had the medicine the same day. Excellent customer service. Thank you.

Phone customer service is unprofessional and rude. Don't use their website to refill orders either. It doesn't work and when you call to see where your refill is they just say, "Don't use the website." Now I'm out of my meds and they are in no hurry to refill them.

This pharmacy, which for many years I Ioved, has basically gone to hell under new management. Gone are the days of excellent, professional, friendly customer service; the last few times I've done business there I've been met with general incompetence and at times downright rudeness from some of the staff. When I've called Highland recently (because of problems with trying to get them to fill my prescriptions) I've waited on hold for an unreasonable amount of time - sometimes over 10 minutes. One time the automated phone system hung up on me after I'd already been on hold for an extended period of time. Totally inexcusable for an establishment that's supposed to serving the medical needs of the public. I'm sad, because I really liked supporting a local pharmacy, and used to be very happy with Highland . But now I'm warning people to stay away. I notice that the vast majority of recent reviews for Highland are negative - perhaps someone who runs this establishment will take notice and turn things around. Otherwise I predict they'll be closing in the near future.

As far as I'm concerned, this is the best pharmacy I'm the state. I've never been to a pharmacy that was local and independent until Highland. It is so much more caring and understanding than a Walgreens or Walmart, and there is no difference in cost as far as my needs are concerned. These people do a great job and go beyond the expectations of a pharmacy. Thank you for all of your hard work. Thank you for treating me like an individual person and not a number to just get out of your way.

My previous pharmacy was no longer able to make my cats prescription so Highland was my only option. The price went up by 20 dollars and they are very inconsistent about how long they take to make it. They say it will be ready in 2 days and will notify you when it is but half the time they don't and the other half it's a week and a half later. If I had another option of places to go I would choose it.

this may not be completely fair but I called them because I was having problems finding a pharmacy that carried my Rx pain med. they told me they couldn't tell me over the phone and that I would have to come in to find out. however, I have a broken shoulder -- just 4 days old -- and can't drive. even being a passenger is excruciatingly painful right now. every other pharm I called could tell me that they did not carry my pain med. So why couldn't Highland?

They are going out of Business! Have been taken over by a pharmaceutical company from Denton, TX - Can you spell NM is up for sale to the lowest bidder? Yet another tried and true institution in Abq and NM falls. According to the notice letter, all records and activity will be transferred to the Denton Office. Our insurance companies are all here in NM by mandate but do you suppose that they will take out of State medications?

An old school pharmacy like no other that has been around since I was a very young boy. It has been through some changes as of late but still have staff that work very hard and cares for each patient they deal with. As most things these days the general public has a low tolerance for anything, especially waiting. We all need to take a deep breath and have some understanding and patience.

I will never use this compounding pharmacy again, only used this one because it was suggested by my doctor. I turned in a Rx on Thursday the 16th at 10 am, was told in person while turning in that it may be done by 5 that day, never heard from them, no call no nothing. Called myself Friday at 1pm, to be told again "maybe by five, we'll call you when done". So I again waited patiently, figured maybe their slammed busy. Never heard from them that day or Saturday either! Check their website Sunday just to find that they are closed! Called on Monday the 19th, told STILL NOT READY! Tried to pacify me by saying "the Rx was turned in Thursday and it takes usually 48 hrs and they don't 'make' anything on saturdays, it'll be done by 5 today we'll call you" grrr! Did i get a call? NO! Did i get my Rx? NO! It is we'll Passed 48hrs! I Just got off the phone now, because I HAD to call againTuesday the 20th, in which someone nastily replied "it is ready come get it" I had to ask why wasn't I notified? She tried to tell me the phone# is wrong, when asked to state the number i left it was correct, no one bothered to call! I will never never never use again! They are NOT the only compounding pharmacy in town, Menaul Compounding is closer to me anyways!

Been there twice and nothing went wrong. Have to change the above comment/ score because they gave me 3-month pills that all expire in 1 month. Ordered on 7.11 picked up in a week and all of them expire on 8.31. End up have to order again. Going to transfer to another pharmacy.

If you're looking to waste your time and get in a pointless argument... this is the place for you! Leo is an absolute clown who will promise "72hrs for a turn around, but probably a lot sooner" and when you show up to pick up the prescription per the call from your manager it will tell you it'll probably be ready around the end of the day. Where did I get 72hr timeframe LEO!? And when it comes time to find the MANAGER THEY ARE ALL AT LUNCH... ironic? I think NOT

I love this place! After too many years of stress from most Walgreens, CVS, Meijer, Kroger, I was happy to find that small town Pharmacy I was accustomed to growing up in Michigan. When you have health problems and lots of scripts to fill, regularly, having a friendly place you can rely on is such a huge stress relief. Which means fewer days worrying if your Pharmacy is going to treat you respectful, honest and understanding. Leo made helped me have a great day by helping transfer a few remaining scripts from the Walgreens I had used here for 10 years. The frustration I have with them gives me anxiety to think about and Leo was more than happy to take care of it and sort everything out. He even called me back to let me know that it was taken care of and when would I like to pick them up. I wish I would have known of this place a long time ago. I even enjoy their waiting area because it doesn't feel like any other pharmacy waiting area. Thank you Highland Pharmacy and the awesome staff! As long as I live in Albuquerque I am going here.

Pharmacy is under new ownership and offers nothing but excuses for malfunctioning phone systems, failure to respond to voicemails, and apparent inability to contact doctor's office for refill authorization. I will be changing pharmacists at the earliest possible convenience.

We have been using this pharmacy for several years only because it is close to where we lived and work. The service they are providing has been going straight down to hell and I had to spend quite some time calling all our doctors to switch our pharmacy to Smith’s. The recent incident infuriated me more than anything else. My wife was prescribed 10 days antibiotics, 500 mg each pill, for pills a day. I first called, they said come in an hour. I did, but they refused to handout the medicine because they only had 250 mg caps. They promised to have the right caps the second morning. So I waited and called the second morning. They said it was ready but when I went there it wasn’t. Now a pharmacist came up telling me I can have the 250 mg caps in doubling quantities. Why the fxxk didn’t you do this yesterday? My wife is breastfeeding and has mastitis, one more day of infection may have dramatic consequences! So I say ok, give me the 250 caps. But they only have 60, not the full amount of 80. They promised they would call me when the rest came in. It never happened! I called them three times a day everyday until we almost finished the 60 pills, but they never even answered my phone nor returned my message. Then I went to Smiths pharmacy asking them to call to transfer the prescription, guess what, no one answered the phone either. I eventually had to call the doctor to resend the order to Smith’s and finally received the rest of the pills. The service at this place is so horrible that I would never ever use them again and will tell everyone I know not to do so. They need to close their shop and go away from the surface of the earth. I really meant my words!

Short review: AVOID. Sad to see what's happened to this once highly competitive, friendly, and patient-care oriented pharmacy. Long review: Just putting this out there for anyone looking around Albuquerque for pharmacies to go to: this place is a waste of time. I've seen only one or two familiar faces in the last 3 months, but it is obvious that any staff who are competent are extremely unhappy (probably due to the lack of organization that is no doubt out of their control). As for the rest of the staff, they all seem to lack either common sense or basic training (if not both, but it's hard to tell which). New ownership operates this pharmacy like it's a social experiment to determine how unprofessional the service and products can be until the customer base dwindles completely down to 0. Props to anyone who's still brave/patient enough to fill here...as for me and my family/friends etc., we'll be filling elsewhere.

I had been happily served by the locally-owned Highland Pharmacy for 20 years when it was sold to a Texas corporation last year. From there on in, every prescription order turned into a nightmare experience of lengthy delays, overcharges, unreasonable requirements, poor record keeping, delivery problems, and general incompetence on the part of both pharmacy staffers and the man who owns the franchise here. I spoke to this guy in person a couple of times and was assured that the problems would be remedied and all would be well. But the problems continued so I reluctantly changed pharmacies. I notified Highland of this and told them to take me and my credit card off their records but they continued to try to fill my prescriptions, sending me robo reminder calls and showing up at my door with prescription deliveries I hadn't ordered. When I told the delivery woman to make sure my account was shut down, she scribbled a few words on a tiny scrap of paper and said she'd take care of it. But I had to call and raise hell before finally getting rid of their attempts to make me remain their customer whether I liked it or not. I noted too that the faithful delivery man of many years was immediately fired by the new franchise owner. He and other loyal long term Highland employees were replaced by no doubt cheaper and certainly less qualified staffers. Alas, after many decades of good service to this community, Highland Pharmacy is no longer a reliable, reputable business. Given my experience, I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
