Hannaford in Hampstead is basically Hannaford lite. Many items I usually get elsewhere are not available in that store. The positives are the bakery, seafood, and meat sections are still outstanding.

With increasing prices in supermarkets on food, they are one place that holds steady or increases. A little higher in price,but quality is good on everything but produce. I would give this 5 stars if they had fresher produce. Other than that they have very friendly service and is a primary place for our grocery shopping.

No clue what has happened to this place. They are out of everything on Sunday's. Especially all the sale items. And during the week their shelves have a lot of empty spots which include sale items. The lines to check out are always backed up. Not to mention everything is way more expensive than Market Basket. The dog treat section is a disaster. Empty and things not in the right spot! This place has gone to hell in the past 5 months!

Went to buy beef bones/soup bones for my dog....i asked the older guy in the meat dept where they had it. With a grumpy attitude he said they didnt have any. This other older guy who was also in the meat dept gave the yuy a dirty look and told me they DO have it and showed me where it was. Smh...

They have everything one can possibly ask for and the store is clean and well merchandised. I give them only 2 stars due to their pricing policy. Expect to pay a premium price for the exact same brands/items as you would in other area supermarkets. Three nectarines (not organic) cost me $4.35 translating to over $1 each! In July. Seriously?

Was one of my favorite places to shop. I used to work here for 9 years before jumping out of the grocery business. The meat is good, frozen options are good and its one of the cleanest grocery stores in the area. The bad parts are the disorganization between staff and customers. The store seems to operate but not well. There are certain employees that are open and easy to seek out, helpful and friendly, but there are others that don't care and it's easy to tell. I have also become one of the price vs value broken records. Main grievance is the cost of basics. Gallons of generic water go for $.75 each, where it's only $.50 at competitors. 25 cents sounds small, but its a 50% increase over the competitor for water...

Starting to get frustrated with this store. We shop here mostly for the convenience but are constantly finding things out of stock or no longer being carried. How hard is it to stock digiorno cheese pizza on a regular basis? Last 4 shopping trips have been out of stock in multiple crust styles.

Very nice market. Bright. Clean. Just switched prescriptions to the pharmacy there. Lots to choose from in the fresh food area including the bakery. Delicious juicy burgers with cheese & bacon in it! They sell beer & wine too. Some items can be a little pricey but overall not bad especially their brands, sales & Rewards. Great local market.

4 of my children have worked at this Hannaford. I especially appreciate the way they train everyone to be courteous and friendly to customers. I have never had a bad experience with this store and have been shopping there for 10 years. (By the way, I did leave K-Mart tired of their rudeness, never to shop there again over 15 years ago. So I do have high standards for courtesy.)

Most of the peoe working there are great, but this store is a premium-priced supermarket for a cramped-aisle, very average shoppi g experience. I miss the days shoppi g there when the aisles were roomy and easily accessible. I will say that their meat dept has higher quality than Market Basket.

I live in Haverhill, and really dislike going to Market Basket and Shaw's. They never have what I want and the place just feels miserable. I have to drive an extra 15 minutes to go to this Hannaford but it was very worth it. They had everything I was looking for, a great selection of healthy foods. Everyone was nice a friendly. My only complaint is that the isles were a little tight in spots, but not nearly as bad as Market Basket. I will gladly make the drive every time I need groceries now.

I was pleasantly pleased going into this location. Many of the Hannaford locations I frequent prior to moving here are quite disorganized and not too clean. This location is much larger than it looks, has a layout that makes sense and is clean. I typically shop at Market Basket because it’s a better value but this is a fine location to go in and grab a few things while in town. I would recommend this store to anybody who is looking for a local store that’s clean and conveniently located to the area.
