Hello I am Charles Psalidas. I am the owner of J and J variety. I am making statements in regards to some of the outlandish rumors and gossip that have Been circulating about the store. We have been here for the community and the Towns people for the past 2 1/2 years. I cannot say that the support has been given back due to rumors and gossip about Drugs and the store closing or the store being a front. We are putting our best foot forward to remain open for the town's people and the community So that there is a store in Sumner area to meet the needs of the towns people and travelers. I will start by saying in no way shape or form has there ever been Illegal happenings Or drugs/trade on my property!!! nor would there ever be!!. We take pride in making a safe fun and convenient environment for women children and family of all. We Apologize if any of these rumors have ever crossed your way But please note the fact that they are just that rumors/false and not the truth... This Is very sad and sickening to know that this type of mentality and childish games could plague or exist on a community store. NOT Right by far. We will remain open throughout this winter in hopes to change the views and thoughts of the Surrounding community with a fully Stocked Store/Gas/kitchen for pizza and other foods. BUT with regret if the support is not given there will be No More Store. I Will close it down. Thank you for your understanding and hope to see some of you swing in to Support.

I am so disappointed in this store. I live two minutes up the street and when I go there they are never open, which sucks because the next store is 15 minutes away, about 45 to 50 minutes round trip with Going into the store. Today I went there, it’s 4:30 in the afternoon I pulled up and one of the workers was coming outside and then went back in as soon as I pulled up next to the pump! I get out and start to walk in and he said “no gas and I’m closed” I ask if he would just let me purchase some water and he said “I can’t sell anything” and shut the door. The store might as well be closed at least that way it wouldn’t be such a huge disappointment. I’m not sure what’s going on there but it would be nice if hours were consistent so that we (the people of sumner) would have a place to stop if we needed something like milk or water or bread a place we can count on that is close.

Ive been coming here the past year on weekdays ranging from 9am to 2pm mostly. In the year i have been coming here i have not been able to buy a single thing that has been advertised. Where is this pizza? I also just wanted a snack this morning and found that all the shelves are empty and the kitchen had no food. Not even a bag of chips? I can understand that this is a small store in a small town, but the claim that you are fully stocked is preposterous. It is monday morning and there is nothing but some drinks, a small selection of cigarettes and a loaf of bread. I will not be coming here anymore. I recomend a bit of honesty to people. The staff are very friendly i will admit although sometimes i have to wait five minutes for personal conversations to be over before i am able to purchase a drink or snack. I will also add that this could be my bad luck in timing although i have come here many times. I wouldnt dismiss coming in here to see what they offer, rather i would recommend expecting to pick from the scarce goods if you are looking for anything. *UPDATE TO OWNER COMMENT* Quite frankly i am in shock to the way you respond to criticism. Fortunatly i have no reason to justify my experiences with you considering people can go see for themselves what i am talking about. In rebut, i will add that the gentleman that works the counter on two occasions has been in conversation with people while i have been there. Last time was a man driving a gray pick up truck, (customer or not i dont want to sit there and wait five minutes for them to finish their small talk) and the first time unfortunatly i cant recall much details about the man he was talking to. Also, i do feel the need to point out that in my monday experience i did leave with a diet coke. I prefer mountain dew but you didnt have any in the store, which is reasonable for someone to have negitive comment. Also i did ask if i could have hot food and he told me there wasnt any available. Your reaction to my experience proves your inability to own up to your faults and you can assure that people will be seeing this and your comment. Good luck with your garbage business and your garbage attitude and dont forget that in light of this situation, i hope you genuinely take what i said seriously or at least concider what i said, step back and look at the fact that you can not deny that you are short on product way too much. I also wanted to point out that the staff are nice, because the gentleman that works the counter is and has also helped me in the past look for things. Dont be so closed minded and in denial. Thanks

Never anything I need here. Always have to settle for limited stock and WAY over priced fuel. No bathrooms, no ATM and never know when they're open. If you're running out of gas, it'll get you by. I'd say stop in Canton, Peru, or Trap Corner unless you have no other choice.

Amazing service. I tried to order a pizza and they said they didn't make that. So when I asked wm what they did make the guy behind the counter scoffed at me like that was an absurd question. So I asked them if they had a bathroom and they all pointed to the bathroom door. So if they suddenly claim to serve hot lunch you know what it is. Lmao.
