I had surgery on a bum leg (hip). The valet service proved invaluable. I want the folks parking the cars to know we appreciate you and the work you do. Almost to an individual, they smile, thank me for my service and in general are most pleasant. The last lady even turned on the AC for me (the temps were in the mid 90s).

Best VA ever!! I’ve received excellent care at this location!! Competent doctors and some very compassionate nurses. The best service however, comes from my fellow veterans that work here!! Vets serving vets!!

Well I'm trying to be a better person, so I will try to be nice, there are some professional workers, some competanent workers and some caring workers but few possess all three attributes, piss poor performances and piss poor attitudes, all veterans who are patients, at the Veterans!Hospital!, deserve better from those who draw a salary from here, I am actually contemplating driving an hour or hours from here to get better service

Clinicians have falsified entries into my health record. When brought to the attention of VA leadership via phone calls and email, they literally ignore me. Completely unethical, disrespectful, and unprofessional. I only go here because I have no other choice.

I’m sorry tired of my grandpa using this facility. Today my grandpa had a mild heart attack. The check in man was on his cell phone, the nurses were rude, just horrible customer service. It’s sad that my grandpa fought for our country and is treated horribly. I’m already looking for him a different facility.

I feel for those who don't think they get good care here... I have received very good care at this VA med center since 2003...It HAS improved over the years that's for SURE ! They have treated me for cancer as well as various heart conditions, gall bladder removal, and hernias ! I'm impressed with their caring attitudes after they got rid of some "bad apples" that were actually mistreating the vets...Like the old gal who used to ride her "scooter" around like STARSKY and HUTCH and give everyone a hard time !

This is the worst facility I have ever been to. I would rather pay out of pocket for adequate medical care. This does not pertain to everyone that works here. There are some really genuine staff members but the bad outweighs the good. I’m really saddened that our heroes have to receive such poor care. Some of our veterans can’t afford to go elsewhere. My father in law is having a really tough time with the staff here. I really wish an outside agency would step in and fix this place. Update: my wife had been calling to check in on her dad while he has been going in and out of this hospital for 2 years. All of a sudden a nurse on 7 south(Connie) is requiring a password(I totally understand). My wife has guardianship and medical power of attorney over her dad. For the second night in a row, she is refusing to check on him. Both charge nurses have had to do so. Tonight my wife has been hung up on and yelled at by this nurse twice. My wife is not asking for any information but to just simply help her dad that has made multiple calls to family members saying that he is in distress.

Appointments and clinics need to get on the same page. My father in law was told to be here at 6am. We arrived at ten till. Clinic is dark, not a single person. 6:05 employee shows up and proceeds to tell us and the other person, that also was told 6am, to have a seat. Check-in is not until 630. I understand clinics want the patients early, but ridiculous to make people come in to early to sit in the dark, while waiting for an employee to show up.

Regular six month check-up. Very professional staff, friendly. I feel that they are concerned with my husband's wellbeing. We never had a long wait at the lab or primary care.

The mental health services is terrible. In attempting to ensure full continuum of care for veteran, staff lied and had no regard for a veteran running out of meds. Appointment has been canceled three times without notice due to the prescriber being “sick” for those who have no other coverage this leaves our hero’s in an extremely vulnerable situation. For us, we opted to pay out of pocket because our May appointment has now been canceled three times without notice and no rescheduled possibly for July but medication runs out in two days. The base our vet came from worked tirelessly to ensure a smooth transition but unfortunately the local VA does not care. They have no resources or referrals for a disabled vet while their staffing issues are resolved.

I called in September to get set up with primary care. I was told that Ariel would be calling me. I called in October to get set up with primary care. I was told Ariel would be calling me. I called in November to get set up with primary care. I was told Ariel would be calling me. I asked the operator if they had my correct contact information. We reviewed it and they did. I asked what number Ariel would be calling me from and was told they could not provide that information. It occurred to me that maybe Ariel has a Las Vegas, Kentucky, or California number since I get multiple spam calls per day from people who don’t leave voicemails. One thing you can count on with this VA, is bad service. If you have a serious medical condition, you will need to seek service elsewhere or go straight to their emergency room. Otherwise, Ariel will be calling you............ Make sure that you have your name included in your voicemail message. If it is not, this is their excuse for not leaving a voicemail and that’s assuming anyone called to begin with. Even if they have your name in their system with a phone number attached to it, they “can’t” leave a voicemail for your “protection”. That isn’t true. You can leave a voicemail that doesn’t identify the customer, so they at least know you have tried to call, but if you are lazy and incompetent, you make things up to put the blame on others. God help our veterans who live in Indianapolis.

I hope to get some good insurance soon because I don't EVER want to have to go to this VA Medical Center again. All they do is patch you up and send you on your way. I've been having abdominal pain for a couple years now and they just sent me a large box of lidocaine patches. THAT DOESN'T FIX THE PROBLEM!!!!!! I'm done with this place.

I first became a primary care patient here in July 2017. Staff at this facility are simply awesome in my opinion. Every problem I have ever experienced has been individually addressed and resolved. In the private sector, I felt like a number. I feel my care is far better coordinated than in the private sector. I sincerely wish everyone could have an option similar to what I have with the VA. I'm a patient of Purple Team. I was very sick when I first went to the VA, so much I was disabled. Today, less than two years later, I have lost 100 pounds and I'm expecting to be back in excellent condition before the end of this year. And some of the staff here have had to deal with me at times when I was experiencing some very arduous problems, and never once did they fail to demonstrate care and compassion, even though I was not treating them very well. To me, anyone with bad things to say about this facility just doesn't have enough exposure to private care in order to recognize and appreciate this excellent VA facility and amazing staff.

I am very sorry to all the vets who have to go to this facility and get medical treatment. My nephew who suffered a nauseous blinding painful migraine waited 4 hours to be seen, waited in a area that was very uncomfortable throwing up consistently and his pain could be heard by everyone. He was given absolutely nothing to relief his pain while waiting for the results of a CAT scan which was normal. Sent home with nothing or any treatment for the migraine or nausea..something as painful as a serious migrain, I could not imagine going to this place if it was a life threatening or death situation..cause they do not care period. Again I am very sorry vets that they can not treat or care for the people who defend our freedom daily or would have to go to war if war comes against, which it will..Shame on all who don't give care/ treatment for our American veterans. I can't believe the people who get in the medical field but yet refuse to treat your patients..like what was your purpose of becoming a doctor or care provider?

More so for the pharmacy. When someone calls and puts in a prescription, it should not take over a week to get said prescription. Also when asked if the prescription can be filled at another pharmacy such as CVS, where they can be filled within an hour, it should be obliged. Prescription medication are likely to be needed immediately and typically cannot wait to be mailed within "3-5 business days." What a joke
