The construction going on makes it almost impossible to find where you are going. Friendly staff and doctors, just a mess to find where you are going to from out of town, even with goglemaps.

My visit to DDC.. was spectacular. I got a police escort too the clinic, do to the Constitution. I was seen by my doctor minutes before my appointment. The urology department staff was very friendly, professional and answered my question in a manner I could understand. My feelings after leaving " WOW, THEY REALLY CARE ABOUT MY NEEDS, HEALTH, AND WE'LL BEING." Thanks one and all at Deconess Downtown Clinic. You are the best......

Be very careful with these people and insurance situations. I recently had an emergency situation with my eyes and called my primary care physician to get a referral to an ophthalmologist. Keep in mind that I have been going to this clinic for almost eight years with the same insurance carrier. To make a long story short, they referred me to probably the ONLY ophthalmologist in the whole city who was NOT in my network. Moreover, when I got to the office of the ophthalmologist and asked if they were in my insurance network, they said that they were when they were not. The next day after the appointment when I was able to check to see if they were in network, I found that they were not. Basically, I fault both Deaconess and The Vision Care Center for putting me in the position of probably having to pay the bill instead of having the health insurance company (which I pay dearly for each month) pay the bill as it should be. When I called Deaconess to express my concerns about their referral, they basically blew me off saying that it was my responsibility to make sure that the provider was in network--even though I was in a vision emergency at the time. I can tell you now that I will not be going back to either place.

Review is about our ER visit Fri 5-10-15. My nephews leg was profusely bleeding from a procedure done day earlier. He's diabetic. Police officer at screening was nice and helpful as was the 2 nurses. There was blood everywhere. My floorboard, the parking lot and down the hall. Got him to a room. Dr came in for 90 seconds and told us they were being hit hard with patients. I got him home changed dressing as instructed. Less than a hour blood soaked through sofa, carpet and bed. We had to put large leaf bags to contain the blood. In the morning ambulance was called. He was admitted requiring a blood transfusion. To the dr that sent him home SHAME ON YOU. I hope you enjoyed your weekend. Not on chestnut. Columbia sy

This review is meant for Doctor Altowaireb and his staff. He's one of the only doctors I've seen that seems to actually care about his patients. A genuinely good man as far as I can tell.
