It's not the best one I've been to. But if you need something quick it will do. Dont buy icecream here it's usually defrosted then refrozen and the fruit and veggies are hit and miss.

This is a store that is poorly run and stocked. They are regularly out of things like lettuce ,2% milk, American cheese etc. On some days it looks like the pictures of grocery stores in Russia it is so poorly stocked. There always seems to be something wrong with the different freezer units in frozen foods so you may not be able to buy the pizza or ice cream you like today for example. You will often find items that you liked replaced by their own Signature brand giving you no choice but to buy theirs now. They call a sale buying things in multiples of 5 and then they are usually out of those items or don't have 5 of them if you wanted to buy them. Their produce is a joke. Produce from Mexico and Chile. Places without any standards that make people sick. You seldom find anything grown here in America. A lot of their produce is already rotting before you buy it. They wait until the store is crowded to stock shelves most of the time blocking off several isles at a time. There are seldom any baggers on duty and if they are they are out rounding up the one empty cart out in the parking lot. I almost always have to bag my own groceries if I want to ever get out of that store. They wait until the checkout lane is ten deep and stacked with people who haven't activated their Wick cards before they will open another lane.Out of all the Jewels I've ever shopped at this one is the worst hands down!

Jewel Osco is no longer expensive...They charge the same amount as Walmart and they always have a sale going on! The fruit(apples,peaches,plums)are still pricey, but sometimes you can catch a good sale.

Jewel Osco has been a great place to shop! My only concern/criticism is that the hours have changed! Instead of now being 24 hours, it is open from 6AM-12AM M-F. Other than that I've always been very pleased with the selections and service.

A bit expensive than your usual grocery, but good enough for quick resupplies and instant meals (check out the deli). Really hard to exit on Green Bay Road on busy days. A good place to get anything you need, wide selection of products sold.

Always look out for the 1, 2 or 3 day sales phenomenal deals always ask the butcher what meat are going out of code tremendously discounted and all they do is donate the meat to Lake County Food Bank and other local Charities !

This Jewel is on the lower end of the spectrume as far as the chain goes. Always some one panhandling in parking lot. Dirty inside & out. Poorly stocked, out of basic items for days, weeks. Stock in wrong places on shelves, not reflecting correct price. Sale prices geared towards Gen X & Millennials (buy 5 boxes of ceral/)$10 or $4.99 ea). Not much concern for the many here shoppers on fixed incomes. W number of competing stores will offer seniors half-price when purchasing one item on a BOGOF sale. Seniors will forego the purchase, especially on perishable goods (don't they deserve a container of ice cream?) or because of space concerns. Watch end-date on sale items, have had many out of date. Can have good produce but be sure to check ALL you select; can be foul. Flip-side in Waukegan, many great cashiers, helpful employees. Lewis St & Gurnee cleaner, better organized & stocked. The store is being rearranged. Very difficult to find items. Some items were in baskets. Very difficult to na vigate the store. It appeared that they had contracted people to assist with moving items. Neither the Jewel employees nor contracted staff knew where items were located. Only three non express lanes were open, and there had to be 5 or more shoppers in each line. In my opinion the store should have closed or did the rearranging overnight.

The wait at the service desk was a little concerning. The employee who was behind the counter left to help another customer (?) while I was waiting and didn't say anything. A couple other employees approached the desk and no one asked if I needed help or if anyone was helping me. Five minutes later the employee returned and assisted me. He was very helpful once back at the counter.

I go to this jewels so often they already know me, so I get the friendly treatment all the time from their staff. Jewels has come a long way with there deals and prices, I love going to jewel now for my grocery shopping, there deals and prices are unbeatable sometimes. I do dislike that they run out of the sale items quickly and don't replenish stock as soon as they run out until the next day or so. But over all if your there the first day the sale starts usually you'll get lucky and like they say early bird gets the worm.

Sincere, actual site management. But, some workers are some how promoted and are truly hating, their positions/taking advantage of their position. Just BECAUSE a white male is BALD (by genetics), doesn't mean he is a skin head! (LEAVE YOUR JUDGMENT AT HOME). We are repeatedly treated, by a so called team member, that is semi management, crudely; OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Maybe he is the one that is racist towards Caucasians because he always hassles my husband. I am of Latin decent (BROWN AND PROUD) and my Caucasian, husband (OBVIOUSLY) isn't racist! We pay GOOD Money to shop here! And, we shouldn't be shown, so much DISRESPECT. ALMOST DONE WITH THIS JEWELS. Do not go during Thanksgiving week. Prices drastically increased. Long lines. Minimal staff. Short tempers. There is no "running in quickly and out". Be warned. Otherwise, Jewel is great! Their prices are reasonable. Awesome discounts on luxury hair products and make-up. Great staff.

Great helpdesk, friendly at register and clean isles. Large parking lot and busy but that's ok. I like to take my time there looking for deals and bargains. Meat prices are high but the cuts are the ones you want on the grill. Large organic produce section. Check busy times to avoid. Check-out sometimes wait time is long but staff handle it respectfully.

One thing that happened is that I took kitchen utensil from my daughter & gave it to the lady to put back , instead of her putting it back she charged me for it , so when I got home I noticed it , made me go out of my way to go back to the store to return it ! Employees need to listen a bit better if they didn’t hear “ask” with out being rude . Not a hard thing to do . Just helps not to have a hassle later on. Not a bad location to go to though ! Would definitely recommend it & I would definitely go back !

This place has gone down hill drastically. There are a lot of shady people around the parking lot all the time asking for money or selling jewelry. I used to work at the bank inside this store (bank no longer there) and would always get complaints of people's cars getting broken into. The service here is terrible. They did away with self check out and instead replaced it with lazy cashiers who dont mind having a long line of people waiting for over 10 minutes. I'd rather go to the Jewel in Gurnee.
