Recently we have had difficulty with our insurance coverage - you name it, it was a problem. The issues were with the insurance company's data and Grieb's staff was absolutely wonderful! I can't tell you how many times they were patiently on the phone with us and/or the insurance companies. None of it was their fault, but they were incredibly helpful and supportive! Go to Grieb's - it's a no brainer.

We moved to Darien in 1992, found Grieb's right away, and have rarely used any pharmacy since. Grieb's has always been very well-staffed with bright, attentive students to manage our orders, and pharmacists willing to go the extra mile to iron out any issues that may crop up between insurance providers, doctors, etc. I have rarely waited more than 10 minutes from the time I walk in the door and leave with meds in hand. They have watched my 5-year old son grow up, who now joins us going into Grieb's, lines up rolls of wrapping paper along the side of an aisle to make a "train" (always putting them back where it came from), while the Grieb's staff have been entertained by his "being a 5-year old." We are now moving away, and can only hope to find a pharmacy with the values of bygone years that I have enjoyed with Grieb's (that I took for granted in my 1950's youth, before the advent of chain pharmacies.) In case you happen to read this Mike and crew, we'll miss you!

better than any CVS, Walgreens, or chain. Go to this family-run, private place... they're fabulous and fill scripts in 5-10 minutes!! i don't go anywhere else!!!!

One of the best things that happened to me in the last couple of years was changing insurance where I was allowed to go to Grieb's again after being forced to use CVS. The chain experience was constant lines, prescriptions not ready or couldn't be found in the racks, and pharmacists talking in groups in the back while the lines got longer and didn't move. Grieb's is superfast, has extra employees who take care of you instantly, picks up the phone on the first ring without punching in 1 for English, 2 for pharmacy, 3 for refills, etc. It's a joy and has eliminated the repeated worst hour of my week or month at the large chain operation.

Grieb's, in our family's experience, has always been great in terms of customer service, helpfulness and good communications. We've used them for many years and always appreciate how they provide work opportunities for students. I still remember and very much appreciate that one of the owners came in during a Christmas holiday and left a prescription for our then-young son so that we were able to leave on a family holiday. Darien is very fortunate to have such a family and locally owned pharmacy to serve the community.

First time in my life when the pharmacist offered me a glass of water to wash down some Tylenol! That was some years ago. I soon learned that there is no better pharmacy than Grieb's! My friend's mother moved overseas last year and still gets her prescriptions filled by Chuck. He has saved her life several times by recognizing harmful combinations in her prescribed medications. Darien residents swear by Grieb's. The cost is the same, so why would anyone go elsewhere? And Grieb's delivers! One more thing: Grieb's always has the best selections or cards, fun gifts, holiday items and lots of other stuff.

My mother has been a Grieb's customer for over 20 years. A month ago, she called in a refill for her prescription as she always does. This time, the person who greeted her on the phone was rude, dismissive, interruptive and discourteous. She has a bit of a stutter and rather than be patient and allow her to articulate her needs, she was rushed, only making the situation worse. She refuses to use another pharmacy despite my insistence and the convenience of CVS across the street and Walgreens right up the road where we have never had any customer service issues. During a time where mom and pop shops are dropping like flies, you would think customer service would be at the forefront of their concerns. I only hope Grieb's treats the rest of their customers with a bit more decency and decorum. I, personally, will never use this pharmacy and will spread the word to others about their abuse of my elderly mother.

When our former medical insurance company insisted we use a chain pharmacy to get coverage for maintenance drugs, we were extremely unhappy. Our new insurance company allows us to use Grieb's, and we are switching everything back. Grieb's is what every pharmacy should be.

They provide much better service and communication than you will ever find at a CVS or other large chain. They offer delivery. If they don't have a medicine or medical device they can usually get it for you in 24 hours or so. They basically will go the extra mile for you in a way that pharmacists in a large chain wouldn't. Plus they seem to have more pharmacists in the store filling orders than they do at chains, so you get your perscription and/or other information faster. I'm a fan.

I was in need of some important medicine and was referred to Grieb's Pharmacy from my normal pharmacy in Stamford, who claimed they were out of the medicine I needed. After I called to confirm they had the medicine, I was greeted by a very rude indivdual who claimed that they had sold out since my phone call (only 24 hours earlier). He later admitted that he did actually have the medicine but couldn't give it to me because the prescription was from New Jersey where I receive my medical treatment. All in all, the individual - who I think was the owner - was very rude and did not offer one bit of help. I highly reccomend avoiding this pharmacy.
