I forgot how long it's been since I been at any Safeway store. So many options. Huge store. They had nuts and oatmeal you could scoop out yourself to weigh out for purchase. They had other area with more products served like that but the store is big so I didn't see them all. Parking is okay if you don't mind waiting for one in front. If not they have rooftop parking too.

Something wonderful about this Safeway is a lounge area where one may have a meal purchased at the Deli. Since Honolulu is heavily saturated by badly educated people, however, the chances to enjoy a meal in tranquility and peacefulness is to build castles in the air. Another issue I dislike is their higher prices. However, I can see a big advantage for tourists to get food at the Deli before a trip to the North Shore where the price of food is higher than Safeway.

A large and well equipped supermarket with friendly staff and plenty of parking, not too far from Waikiki Beach. I walked there and it took me about half an hour to reach it. Prices are reasonable too and not over priced like in some of the touristy areas.

I love this Safeway! Parking on rooftop if needed. On downside lots of traffic here and usually understaffed. Don’t eat sushi here it’s horrid. Poke is OK. Fruit is very expensive here! Wait why am I giving 5-stars? Well the staff is nice and the location is great. They have everything. Bank of Hawaii located inside also.

Firstly, I almost never leave bad reviews - I try to understand that people can have bad days -However: I tried this new location because I was dissatisfied with the one closest to my home WORST customer service I've ever seen NO Regular lanes were open or manned at all - I mentioned this to an employee and was met with a blank "Not My Job" stare Nobody greeted me and many employees seemed surly Asked directions (this being my first visit) and the employee made me feel like I was interrupting their important day After 1/2 hour of this, I left the store without getting anything

I stopped in here yesterday just in time to witness a manager literally yelling at some kind of employee. Dark haired, cottage cheese butt, buggy eyed woman, this manager (I assume) obviously has some kind of pathetic power trip going on. Not only is it highly unprofessional to yell like a banshee in a workplace, but as I customer I felt extremely awkward and uncomfortable even witnessing that. I want to grocery shop not watch some woman try and publicly belittle another woman over what seemed to be a non issue. I did not complete my purchase and I'll not be shopping there anymore, there is a very nice Kings nearby.

Safeway is slipping. They never have baggers. There at times is one checker who has to do the self checkout plus the fast lane labeled 13 or less. If you have a full cart it can be confusing but that's where they check you out. I feel like I work there when I'm shopping.

The store itself is fine. It’s the public restrooms that drag down the rating for me. These are without a doubt the most disgusting restrooms in all of Hawaii. A store that handles food should not have washrooms this disgusting. There has to be some sort of health code violation.

It’s a very weirdly placed location and the loading dock requires the drivers to stop traffic from getting through the parking lot to back into the loading dock. The store itself is decent. The place seems a little dark but it is well organized and well stocked. The checkout is relatively fast and the employees give great service !

Edit: prices can be outrageous if you don't have a Safeway card. I paid $6 for two pomegranates that were supposed to be .99 each... And they were rotten inside. Bummer. Also we needed toilet paper and it killed us. I love the efficient layout of this store. The cashier, Coral, was kind and patient with me despite being very busy. I will definitely come back! (The donuts here are surprisingly good too, who knew?)

This is a supermarket (or grocery store) in Hawaii. Coming from another country (Australia) we had a great time walking through the aisles looking at all the familiar items as well as discovering items unfamiliar to us. The prices were very good compared to all the small ABC stores that are on almost every street or corner and there is a pharmacy (drug store), bakery and sushi place inside too. The is also a a large fresh fruit and vegetable section. If coming from Australia, the prices are fairly similar, with some things much cheaper (alcohol) and some things more expensive (dairy and breakfast cereals). For extra savings, I highly recommend getting one of their loyalty/membership cards.

This is the Safeway where a woman won the cool $1 million for playing the Monopoly game. You know, that game you have game pieces for that you never bothered to open? Because no one ever wins it right? Well, this Safeway laughs in your face. It laughs in my face. It laughs in all of our stupid faces. Great selection of products in stock at mainland (California at least) prices. During the busy part of the day, unless you like driving in circles waiting for a parking space, skip that and just go straight to the ample roof parking, which is what I always do unless it is late at night in which case all the other stores in this center are closed leaving all the parking for Safeway shoppers. - My only caution is, like shopping anywhere else, always check expiration dates.

It's a big grocery store (by local standards) with a deli, a full bakery, a pharmacy and even a small Starbucks coffee shop all under one roof. The aisles are wide and the store is relatively spacious, so it has a generally uncrowded feel to it, even when it's busy.

The pharmacy leaves much to be desired. Frequent Mistakes of script not ready because it’s “too soon to get filled “ even tho it’s not. This time it was a prescription I’ve had to go some days without as the Pharmacist did not follow up on what he said he would do for this as it wasn’t too soon. Well of course I wasn’t able to get it today because it’s too soon. Nothing done as said he would do so after years of this I’m giving up on this pharmacy and heading over to another one as I’ve had it with them. Sad!

This location is better managed, cleaner, and as far fewer panhandlers in the parking lot compared to the one on West Main. The high volume of people shopping in this part of town I think improves the quality over there Crosstown counter part.

The first thing that hit me on my trip to safeway was the smell. The tang,almost sticky smell of urine and unwashed body's covers almost the entire parking lot. Stepping over a decomposing cat, some vomit and no less the three used needles, I made my way to the entrance. Inside, the dim lighting and musty air trys it's best and fails to hide the garbage and human waste literally covering every available foot of the floor. The staff were rude and only stopped hurling insults at me long enough to relieve themselves behind counter, deciding goldfish crackers were not worth the true apocalyptic hellscape that was the safeway, I went home.

This is my favorite grocery store in Helena! It's always nice and clean and has great quality produce, meat, bakery, and dairy at a decent price. My biggest complaint is they are always out of something on my list - usually an item that's on sale, particularly the meat or dairy items. Make sure to use their app - it saves a lot of $$!

After the "reorganization," I spend an additional 20 minutes trying to find stuff - not always successfully. Who ever heard of a store that didn't have Lawry's Seasoning Salt? It's the first time I've experienced THAT! Buying bread from the bakery is frustrating. They had one (1) selection. Fortunately, I didn't need the deli tonight. That's usually a 10 minute experience with one person on the front waiting on folks and 4 in the back doing who knows what. Love the people at Safeway; but management needs to provide a more efficient operation. I'm about one frustrating visit from switching to Super 1.

Safeway in Helena has always been pretty dumpy. Not as dumpy as Van's, but not near the value for your dollar. Usually the big brother in the Albertsons- Safeway dynamic, but not in this town. When they heard that Winco was coming to town, they panicked. They started a renovation project and decided that the Thanksgiving/Christmas rush was the best time to tear up the store, making shopping there a chore. The whole thing felt rushed, in an attempt to get it finished before Winco opened. It's basically a lipstick on a pig situation. Sure it's slightly better looking than it was, but it's still garbage. Winco is BY FAR a much better option. And no, I don't work at Winco or even know anyone who does.

I cannot recall from 25+ years of customer service industry, a grocery store seeming to push customers away. From management to cashiers, Safeway has treated me to experiences ranging from outright denial of loading money onto my debit card(my first visit which they actually do perform this service) to my latest problems...they destroyed my card. The reason behind the destruction was my simply leaving the card there for two days. That is correct, I forgot to take my card back after a Safeway employee loaded money on it, two days later it was destroyed. They did give me a reloadable debit card(cost $2.95). Unfortunately the manager who gave me the card lied to me about the card and I now have to pay $4 to load money onto it each time, along with a $1 transaction fee on EVERY purchase. The only employee who has actually helped me was a woman in produce who went out of her way to find a price for me. I like the layout and product layout of the store(a bit cramped but good selection). With the exception of that one employee, every other interaction has been far below standards.

I do not normally shop at Safeway, but I decided to stop by on my way home. I was initially unimpressed by the prices as they were more expensive than Winco, Super One, or Costco where I normally shop. What really turned me off, though, was how I was treated upon check out. Since I was unfamiliar with how the sales were displayed on the check out screen, I was questioning the price of the cherries I had just bought. The cherries were supposed to be ringing up as $1.88 per pound. However, the price of the cherries was displaying as $3.99 per pound. The cashier then proceeded to belittle and patronize me for questioning the $3.99 price of the cherries that was displaying above. She even compared me to her cat which she said she cannot get to notice the birds right outside her window. “How many other ways can I explain it?” she questioned. It was then that I noticed that the discount was actually being displayed at the bottom of the screen, however her attitude was incredibly disappointing. She could have helpfully pointed out that the discounts are displayed at the bottom—especially since I had several other items and the discounts themselves can be far removed from the specific items themselves. At this point, I have no interest in returning to Safeway to do any shopping in the future.

Great find on an expensive trip! Safeway is very well maintained and will save you a lot of money IF you go to the service desk and ask for a club member card, it's free! There is a food court and a Starbucks inside. You can take the elevator to the parking lot on top of the store to take some pretty nice pictures of Honolulu! Also just about a hundred yards away is the famous Leonard's Bakery, a MUST visit! The only shock that we saw was a gallon of milk $5.49 to $8.99! And seedless watermelon $1.49 A POUND! We placed a mellon on the scales, it was a little over 24 pounds. That comes out to $36.00! DOLE should plow their pineapples under and start growing Watermelons!

I called and asked a specific question about this specific juice its size and price... Anybody that spot a fruit smoothie that does not get its thickness from Ice and it gets its thickness from fruit puree knows that the size that's big like a carton not the small one like you get at a convenience store is close to $10 so when I called to see if they carried this brand and particular flavors and I was told they were $4 and I said are you sure because I'm looking for the big ones and at King Soopers they are $9 so since he said I checked myself and they are $4 and we carry a large Variety in the multi serving package and I again asked if he was sure because things aren't typically over 100% price difference between these two stores... So he gave me the price of $3.49 which makes 7-Eleven cheaper for the small bottles and he lied over and over and over!!! I asked 4 or 5 separate times if he was sure he was looking at the right size not the 15 oz size but the size that has 8 oz servings and I gave the price at another store and the size and price at 7-Eleven a convenience store... where they are 2 for $6 not $3.49-$4, you would think with that much push bag he would check again and actually look at the number of ounces because they did have about six of the large containers over four flavors but they are more expensive than at the other store but at least they had it in stock when I went although I do not like to be lied to and I don't think anybody does. Other than the lying the store was clean the parking was good however it could use more lighting and better signage but without those things it gives me a Hidden Gem of a grocery store that has short lines and not many people which is another thing I like about it!

But the daytime parking has become a problem; they no longer stock as much of things I buy often; it's freezing cold in the store, and there's plenty of tourists obliviously poking along, gawking. I can always tell when they are about to have a visit from upper management, that's when they clean the place. About once a quarter your visit to Safeway will be okay. The rest of the time you'll need to Wade through the clouds of cigarette smoke from employees taking a break right in front of the door. Once you've made it into the store you'll want to see a few of their best attractions. One of the employees you just passed smoking has followed you in and they'll head behind the deli counter. They won't wash their hands and they'll roll their eyes at you once you've got their attention. Next stop expired dairy and produce. Safeway believes that their customers are the best way to inspect the inventory. Finally a trip to the restroom. Don't worry it's always this dirty or out of order. When it is open you can find the most efficient employees here. A smoke and a poo just for you! Unfortunately Safeway is gross on all levels avoid them when you can.

Recently we've started using online shopping with Safeway. Every time we go to pick up our order, we arrive a little early, just in case. So far, every time we arrive, we call and are unfortunate enough to have Steven helping us. He always has a bad attitude and makes us feel bad for using the service. Last time, we showed up 5 minutes early (our order time was scheduled for 2:00, and we showed up at 1:56). When we called to let them know we were there, Steven's response was "Already!? I haven't even started shopping your order yet!" He didn't come out with our order until 2:50. We waited for almost an hour! On top of the wait time, he has the worst attitude. They're happy to substitute name brand products with generic products, but not the other way around. It's a shame that we have to switch to a grocery store that's further away from our home in pursuit of decent customer service.

Longer review but worth the read: Safeway has a decent name for themselves I think and rightly so. But the past year I have had to shop else where for meats. Everytime I go here for meat I come home only to see that the meat isnt what it seemed in the store. Let me give you an idea of what I am finding...example one: i purchased some chicken that was on sale and when I opened the package to cook them that same day they smelled funky. I checked the date again (as the date was fine when I checked in the store. I ALWAYS CHECK.)It was a few days away from the sell before date. But as I looked at the label closer I found that they placed that label OVER the old one which had a sell before date that had expired. My meat was bad. This particular thing happens often with this safeway and I refuse to purchase safeway meat now. Example 2: EVERYTIME I purchase their ground beef (on sale or not) I go to open the package only to find that the center of the ground beef is brown. The meat always has a rotten smell to it yet the exterior of the meat is pink. For many years I thought this was the norm but it is not people! I now purchase beef from ranchers directly and NEVER experience this. EVER. Ground beef should be pink all the way through with no smell. Thats right. Your nose isnt lying to you when you take a wiff of rotten meat. I have been robbed of 100s of dollars over the years I have purchased meat from here. I thought meat just smelled like that because I had become so numb to the idea that a store would have me pay for rotted meat. I was wrong and now search for local meat. Safeway is good for other things and the staff is polite but please. STOP. SELLING. BAD. MEAT. You are robbing people blind. I will pay the extra few dollars for the good stuff.

This stores security offened me i will never return !!!! i went to get a product that I seen on sale on my Smith's ad where I usually go, but safeway was nearest to me. We ran into Safeway on the Guide to get a few items. I didn't have time to really look at what they carry. Organic apple cider vinegar with the mother was super reasonable. Organic soy milk was the same price we pay at Freddy's. The produce selection was decent...things looked fresh and there was enough organic produce to find most items. The deli chicken strips were super old and gross, and mixed in with some that were even more old and gross. They honestly could have been days old. The deli also lacks customer service skills. They couldn't answer simple basic questions about the products, and all I got were "I don't know" answers. I cannot stand how the pharmacy is in the center of the store so you have to walk through a crowd of people and multiple isles of medications to get to the rest of the groceries. In Canada we leave our trolley here and there while we get additional items. I thought the same here. So I'm looking around for my trolley and asked a Cashier, he apologised and helped me look. I found it at CS desk. I was told by this male cashier to let them know in the future so they can keep an eye on it for me. Really wow, thank you. The cashiers were friendly, stock person showed me when I was puzzled where an item was without me asking. Great layout and clean store.

Safeway in Lynden seems lazy. "We have your business, why try?" Lay out is awkward, the most annoying for me was that many items I was interested in were not priced, parking is difficult. The people were nice, both staff and customers. The lines were ridiculous when I went... PLEASE TAKE MY MONEY!! really? I will try to save up my shopping for Winco and Fred Meyer as much as I can.

This Safeway is a decent one w/fair prices & a good selection; however, I hv not bn happy w/certain foods they changed or removed from their stores when Albertson's merged w/them or took them over. They got rid of certain breads/pastries they made in store, & also changed some bread recipes to lesser quality/ingredients. And, they used to hv much better sales each week than they do now--especially for singles & small families. Plus, I used to buy their giant thick cut pork chops, which they no longer have. I wld love to see the "true" SAFEWAY back, so I wld shop there more frequently once again!!

I had to work here temporarily as a vendor. Employees are all nice however the back room smells like mold and sometimes sewage (they store food back there), the store director is like a drunken tantrum-throwing toddler, running around screaming at everyone every chance she gets, parking isn't the greatest, and the smoking section is directly in front of the front door so you do have to walk through a cloud of smoke to enter. I hope they close this store.

The management is so horrible and how can they not care at all about their community at all. 3 lanes open with lines going to the back of the store and cashiers moving at a snails pace and just snickering. Self checkout usually goes to the back of store. A head of lettuce marked up to 7$? Prices would be easier to swallow if it wasnt an hr to checkout. Employees all over the store just walking around. It's Safeway... If you're making a dinner that has 5 basic ingredients, they'll have 4, and leave you changing your dinner plan for what's available. Funny enough, I travel all over the west, and this seems to be true of all of them. Alas, it's the closest store to home or often, the only store available, so I shop here anyway. Just keep an open mind and window shop for dinner. Another pet peave, what's up with your buy one get one free on meat?! IE, cube steak on said special for $12 lb, when you can get it in the regular package for $6, from the same store. Do you think we're stupid, or do you bank on folks not checking prices? I miss King Soopers being around the corner...

Double check your receipt here. Generally at least one, often more, items marked as sale don't ring up at the sale price. Usually it's a few cents here and there, but today being observant saved me $15 on cereal that didn't ring up correctly. I've learned to look at all Safeway stores, this began when I was in Alaska at Carr's, and continues down here. It's my local grocery store, so unfortunately I keep coming back. You've been warned haha.

This Safeway location is very good. Always pleasant people, well stocked. There is a full service Bakery & deli on site. Parking can be a challenge but there is additional parking on the roof. There are a lot of organic options here in pretty much every department. The store is fully accessable with wide isles and single level floors. I'm a retired Safeway mgr and I have been to this store several time during my 2 weeks here and each time I have been the the salad bar is a disgrace ! The signage for the dressings is scattered all over so unless your a mind reader you won't know what your putting on your salad also the veggies and the pasta dishes look like they haven't been touched In awhile....terrible !! not to mention the girl who roams around in black up front is the most unfriendly person I have ever met that works for Safeway. Rarely enough cashiers on duty during busy hours. I ordered a half fruit half veggie tray to serve 8-10 people and for the cost I could have done a better job on it. Did not include the specific fruits I requested. Deli employee serving us was most unfriendly and dismissive. She couldn't get us out of there fast enough. She was shocked when I told her I wanted to check it before paying. I should have just left it there and gone without for the price!

I have shopped at this Safeway for 6 years and have always been pleased with the selection and employees and would normally give the store a 4-5 star rating. I have purchased a lot of fresh seafood from the seafood counter but will no longer. I bought a piece of Sockeye salmon on Monday and unwrapped it to grill it and there was a live worm on it. I Googled it and found these worms (called cod or herring worms) are quite common in salmon and other fish. They are a parasite and will die if the fish is frozen to - 4 degrees F for several days or cooked to 145 degrees. I haven't been back in the store since I purchased the salmon but will definitely mention this to them.

My husband, myself, and our two teenagers stayed at the Fir Grove Motel this August, 2014. The motel was clean, quiet, nicely kept up, the women at the front desk were lovely and friendly and helpful. Good to have a microwave and fridge in the room. The breakfast was great - homemade waffles and oatmeal and cereals and lots more available - all very yummy. Felt very comfortable there and very welcome. The people who worked there also told me a pleasant route to go for a walk when I asked. The price was also more than reasonable - low and inclusive of breakfast - GREAT value. I would definitely stay there again, as would my family. We were traveling for three weeks all over the place and this was our favorite place that we stayed!

My wife and I went in to grab a few things but first I needed to use the lavatory to wash my hand. I went to the one by the Starbucks at the front of the store opened the door and was totally shocked the facility was absolutely horrendous didn't look or smell like it had been cleaned in months. Toilet paper all over the floor, urine all around the toilet, looked as though someone had taken a bath in the sink I couldn't bring myself to washing my hand after all. They were definitely cleaner than that filthy mess. The worst part is the fact that it's attached to a FOOD store and that employees supposedly wash their hands before handling our food.

Always a line, never enough checkers. The west side store doesn't have this problem, neither does Aztec, even Albertsons is better. Go to Smith's or Walmart if you're on the east side and need groceries, this place isn't worth the wait. When the call "three's a crowd" to get more checkers up front, the people don't turn on a light to let you know there are more registers open. Probably won't go back to the east side Safeway even though it's only a quarter mile or so from my house, walking distance.

Having a Safeway card is completely worth it for the deals. Staff are very friendly, but lines can get long at the checkout area pretty often.
