My doctor recommended using this pharmacy to fill my prescription since I didn't want a specific ingredient added to the drug. They called me back and I wasn't available to talk and sent the call to voice mail. They immediately called me back and at that point I decided to just take the call. The female on the phone was abrupt and rude. I tried to explain to her that I wan't in a place where I could really talk and give financial information and she told me to call them back the following day and hung up. So I called back, as requested, and wasn't able to get in touch with anyone. Also, their voice mail system just leads you around in circles. I am going to reach out to my doctor and request a different pharmacy. Looking at other reviews, I am not alone in their terrible customer service. The question is then, why would I give my business to a company that has no problem treating their customers poorly?

Abrupt and not paying attention: when I called for a refill of a Rx from "about a year ago" the woman abruptly told me that they can't help me if it's been over a year. It's a bad idea to reject a customer first thing in the conversation. She hadn't even looked up my account yet. Turns out it was ten months ago which is ABOUT a year ago. After she told me she'd call the doctor for a refill I waited two days to find out they called the wrong Dr. How does that happen if the Rx is on file? So I had to call back with the right information for these people as if it were MY mistake. Can they get their act together enough to fill it ? Stay tuned.

****DOES NOT TAKE INSURANCE**** I am going to start there. They do not take insurance. They gave me a speech why they don't but I really didn't listen. Secondly, they couldn't give me a quote of my medication because "they make the medication from scratch". This is a red flag for me but sadly, I called around and Target, Kroger, Wal-Mart, Wal-Greens didn't have my medication so at least I found a place that can make it. I will wait to see what they charge me.

I am very disappointed with this Pharmacy. They were backed up, but promised to get me my medication to me within 10 days at the latest. 10 Days came and went ... still no medication. This is a Pharmacy for crying out loud. We depend on them. When I called to talk to them about the situation all I got was one excuse after another from the receptionist to the Pharmacist herself. They all said they were sorry, but didn't fix the problem. At one point they said 'you should have ordered it sooner if it was that critical' ... I'm not aloud to because of the nature of the drug. Then they said 'it's in the mail ... you're just going to have to wait.' I'm recovering from spinal surgery for crying out loud. I'm now several days late on a critical medication, and I'm going to pay the price for that. Thank you Pencol for your professionalism and desire to help your customers who depend on you! This type of behavior should be illegal.

I had an issue with another compound pharmacy not knowing an “ingredient” on my prescription written by my doc and after going back and forth between my doctors office and other compound pharmacy and not getting anywhere I decided to contacted Pencol. Pencol promptly filled my Rx and the girls I spoke with were friendly and helpful!

I've been coming to Pencol for about 8 months now. They are the only place that makes a medicine my dog needs. They are very pleasant and their pharmacists are always really nice. I've heard them tell each other "a customer just called and is running late in traffic, can someone stay?" and the pharmacist has always said yes. I'm just thankful they make the meds my pup needs and are kind.

Outstanding service! Always friendly and welcoming when you walk in. I have NOT seen a high turn over. One pharmacist has been there at least 3 years. I have used this pharmacy for 8 years I'll tell you what, they gave me more attention and kindness then that wal-one or that Rite-one ever had. Even helped me get grandfathered into a reasonable price for my cream. This is a unique location with an old school pharmacy or chemist (as they say across the pond) feel for sure. Easy and ample parking. This place is the best!!

Love to find a good compounding pharmacy. My dr likes their quality so recommended me to get my methylcobalamin injections here.- B12 without any preservatives in a useable form. Only place in Denver these days that make it. They will cold ship! But nice to have a place closer to Boulder where I can save the $35 for cold ship and just swing by when I'm in Denver and pick it up. Great they are open a bit later and on Sat!

The staff is always nice and they will work with your doctor. If your doc isn't familiar with compounded orescriptions they will help them. Also I always find something good to try, like a lip gloss, special supplement or???

My primary pharmacy was unable to fill a rx and suggested I have it filled at Pencol. I agreed and my primary provided Pencol with my rx and -I later discovered- my address (I'm unclear about whether a phone number was submitted). After three days of silence, I followed up with my primary and they said I should contact Pencol. Whomever I spoke with at Pencol was curt, dismissive and almost hung up before I could give my telephone number - this person reported they would contact me when the rx was filled. I waited four days to hear that my rx was ready and I asked that it be shipped to me. I gave my payment info and the person I spoke with muttered something about payment possibly being declined. I asked for elaboration and she said dismissively that not all FSAs were in their "system" so my payment might not be accepted. I asked to be notified if that were the case and she agreed and almost hung up before I could verify my address was on file and correct - it was on file but not correct. Four days later I received notice that the med had been delivered. When I opened the package a generic CC receipt for $60 was stapled to a receipt for the med which read $50. No explanation for the extra $10. I called today to clarify charges and the person with whom I spoke said the payment was for shipping - the first I was told about this charge, and I said as much. The response was "That just covers the shipping, we don't make any money on that." Which I pointed out is completely beside the point - the price for the rx was given when I provided payment info, but no mention of the shipping fee was made. My primary pharmacy doesn't charge to send my meds to me, so I wasn't expecting this from Pencol, and I suggested customers should be informed of charges before they're made. The attendant on the line conceded that I should have been notified of the shipping charge. I then asked for an itemized receipt for my FSA - and was asked "Did you not get a receipt?" So I explained again that there were two receipts with different amounts but no explanation of what the extra $10 was for, and that my FSA would surely need an itemized receipt - which is standard for all FSAs. Lots of work to get one rx filled. I'll definitely look into other options when it's time for a refill.

I called to see if a prescription that wasn't filled correctly last week was ready for me to get today (a week later), but everyone I talked to would cut me off and say that they would call when it was ready. Every time I call no matter who I talk to they are rude. When I walk in they are a lot nicer, I wish they had the same phone skills. It's very frustrating to call and be transferred to a few different people and have nobody really listen to you. Why oh why is this the only pharmacy that can fill my daughters prescription! Since this is something she will need for the rest of her life I hope their phone communication skills will improve. There's nothing worse than feeling as if the person you're talking to really couldn't care less what you're saying. (3 stars for in person help, if it were solely based on phone help they would get 1 star)

Lady who answers the phone is a very unprofessional. Snotty attitude. Slow service.

Khalani Padilla

Friendly staff, my order was ready quickly.

Jimmy Bob

Kathy is extremely rude and unprofessional.

Roger Kent

Nice enough people. Though if you want your meds in a timely fashion forget it. Two separate experiences by where I was required to wait four days from time of phycisian placing order and me receiving meds. For those people that have life saving scripts beware of the wait.
