I wanted to share my experience that I had today at Coleman Pharmacy. I have never ever been treated so rudely in my life by a pharmacist and I cannot begin to tell you how embarrassed I was. I normally go to Walmart but they were out of my medicine so I went to Coleman. I asked the clerk if I could get my rx filled there since Walmart was out and then the gentleman (pharmacist) came to me and asks me in a very rude tone why I needed the medication and what my ailments were? So, I proceeded to tell him that I have chronic migraines and systemic lupus and he tells me that my problem is the pills and my migraines are caused from my pills. Then he asks me how many pills do I take and how often do I take them. So, I answered that it just depends on my pain level and that I have a migraines every day and I don't know day to day how severe they will be. Then he says, so you didn't just go to the dr and tell her you stubbed your toe to get 60 pills? Then he asks if I see a neurologist? I told him No and that yes, I have been to several neurologists and to Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, Dallas, Oklahoma City etc seeking help and noone can tell me why I have migraines every day and that I just had my 2nd sinus surgery trying to get relief. He says well, I don't know all of your medical history but I do know that these pills are your problem. At this point I am so embarrassed because he is treating me like a druggie or addict and there are other customers around me that are hearing my interrogation from him and staring at me. I then said I can take my rx somewhere else if it is a problem to get it here, and he said no, it is my job to ask these questions and I can fill it in a few minutes. As I'm waiting he continues to hound me and then writes everything down on my script and asked for my dr's names and cities that I see. I have no problems with someone asking me questions in a nice way but to tell me what you think my problems are and I don't need someone trying to be my Doctor without knowing my past or current medical history. Obviously my doctor feels that I need this medication due to the pain I deal with every day otherwise she wouldn't prescribe it. I'm not sure what kind of degree this pharmacist has but apparently it ranks higher than any one of the hundred or so doctors that I have seen in the 17 years I have been diagnosed. I understand his knowledge of medicine might be far superior than some doctors but as far as my diagnosis and what medicine I need I would leave that up to my doctor. Trust me when I say that if it were that easy to be migraine free then I would already be free of them and wouldn't be paying on all of the mounting specialists fee every month. Given the chance I would love to be healthy as him or others and there are far more important things in life than filling a prescription for false reasons. I will never go back to this pharmacy nor ever refer anyone there and I hope next time he uses better judgment and he isn't so negative towards someone who truly doesn't have a choice whether or not they are healthy. It's a shame that in today's society just because you're on medication it automatically makes you suspect, and it's even worse for those who may not look sick because not all illnesses can be seen on the outside.
