My wife went by to get a prescription for pain medicine(and yes, I said pain medicine because it isn't a bad thing to have as long as it is justifiable in needing to take it) filled because Walmart didn't have any, and I assume this is because they've started cracking down on how many narcotics a pharmacy can have on hand at any given time but that's beside the point. When she took her prescription in and asked if she could get it filled here the pharmacist started asking 20 questions on why she needed as many as she did, and then out of pure rudeness he eluded to her "going to the doctor after stubbing her toe just so she could get a prescription for this medication"(exact quote). He started making recommendations on what types of doctors she should be seeking out for help(which would have been helpful for someone who is earlier in their diagnosis) and even made her tell him what her ailments were. So she told him, in front of everyone else, that she just went through her second sinus surgery this past Friday, she has been 17 years diagnosed with systemic lupus and to follow that up she also has chronic migraines which we have traveled all the way to Dallas Texas and to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota seeking treatment. While she was telling him all of this he was making a list of the doctors on the prescription itself and I hope he does his research on the names of the professionals she namedropped so that he can see that she isn't just someone seeking out medication for ulterior purposes. I'm not sure what kind of degree this pharmacist has but apparently it ranks higher than any one of the hundred or so doctors my wife has been seen by in the years since being diagnosed. I understand his knowledge of medicine might be far superior than some doctors but as far as her diagnosis goes I would leave it up to those who have studied the immune system to help fight these types of diseases. I agree that he has a right to ask questions but he does not have the right to act like an idiot to someone that does not deserve it. It is his professional opinion that my wife's headaches are brought on by taking prescription pain medication. While in some instances taking pain medicine can cause headaches, which are generally referred to as rebound headaches, but in her case this does not hold true. Trust me when I say that if it were that easy she would be migraine free by now and we would not be paying on all of the mounting specialist fees every month. He has a right to have an opinion which he had no problem sharing with my wife so I have no problem sharing my opinion with all of you on how he negatively treated my wife this morning. Not only was it uncalled for but it was also embarrassing and an insult to my wife who cannot help her illness. Given the chance she would gladly be as healthy as myself or the pharmacist probably is, and I can promise you that there are far more important things in life, in her life, than filling a prescription for false reasons. We will not be going back to this pharmacy for anything and I hope he uses better judgment the next time he decides to be so negative towards someone who truly does not have a choice on whether or not they are healthy. It's a shame that in today's society just because you're on medication it automatically makes you a suspect, and it's even worse for those who may not look sick because not all illnesses can be seen on the outside. This review might have been a bit lengthy but it's disheartening to know that people that are truly sick can be treated in such a horrible way.
