These people are too impressed with their products. The prices are too high. The meat selection is marginal. The deli is dysfunctional after five. Good luck getting a freshly made sandwich after five pm. On the plus side, the deli sells Boar's Head products. The clothing section is comparable to fine department stores, plus the have a good selection in housewares, hardware and sporting goods. We buy all of our jewelry at Fred Meyer. The jewelry department guarantees their product,and they also do repair work.

Favorite Freddies location in Anchorage. Usually have everything I want and the staff are super friendly. Plenty of parking and entrances for the different sides of the store, food vs. housewares. Kinda wish clothing was on the housewares side though.

The manager at this store is a young 20 something year old power freak. His employees don't respect him, they fear him and it's sad to watch. Also the Fred Meyer on Northern lights has ten times the selection, space, happy customers, and employees. Definitely worth the drive to shop at the Northern Lights location instead of this one!!

Freds @ Abbott Road rates 5 stars from me because their employee's are stellar (friendly, helpful & professional)...And as others mentioned, their deli is top notch. Also, the bakery always has a great selection and the cheese & olive bar is loaded with delicious goodies! It really is a "one stop shop" with everything from groceries to clothing/shoes, housewares, pharmacy, bedding, garden center, jewerly store, office supplies, liquor, Credit Union, Starbucks --- you name it! Occasionally the check-out lanes are long, but they scope out shorter lines and steer you over to them as they can. The Customer Service counter can be lengthy, but what store anywhere has a short one? Every Fred's in Anchorage is great in my opinion, but since this is my closest store, I'll give it a rating! :)

Fred Meyer almost always deliveries what my family needs. In this particular situation I needed a large quantity of food last minute from the deli for a work function and the team at the Abbott location pulled through. A good place to get a bunch of chicken and sides for your employees, 24 hours notice is normally requested.

It's iffy, don't go there late at night. There's only one person who can reset the till and she or he disappeared for over 20 minutes and there was 29 other people in line with me.... waiting and waiting. Sometimes the employees are in a good mood and sometimes they're not, and sometimes I'm in and out of there. I guess it depends on what days you go and what time it is, I don't know. Like I said it's iffy.

I like the location, but the assistant mgr Pena, has much to be desired, as a customer service employee. It's very obvious that she does not like her job. When you're standing there watching one employee handle a line full of people at the CS desk, you would think you might pitch in & help, instead of leaning against the counter, while we waited in line for 17 minutes, to get a refund on items we were overcharged for, at check out. Carr's/Safeway should send you a fruit basket, as a thank you for helping customers decide to shop with them instead.

Typical Fred Meyer, have everything you need, and some things you don't need, and out of some of the basics. Typical expensive things for Alaska. I like their Kroger brand of basic items to purchase, there are always reasonably priced. They also have good sales on meat occasionally

This is my favorite Fred Meyers in town. Northern Lights is closer but I will drive over to this side of town to go here because I like the layout of the store and I seldom come across rotten produce (it's pretty bad at Northern Lights and Muldoon, it seems). Plus, it doesn't get as crowded as Northern Lights or Dimond.

I went to self check out and while I was checking out my groceries I had asked the machine for $20 cash back off of my debit card and accidentally forgot to grab it. now usually in this case the machine will beep at you letting you know That there is cash waiting to be grabbed. Watch out for your money and getting cash back at Abbott Fred Meyers in Anchorage.

This is the closest Fred Meyer to my house and I go shopping here all the time! They have everything I need for a reasonable price, often times cheaper than other grocery stores in Anchorage. They always have coupons and their rewards program is AMAZING! Every dollar spent is worth a point, which can be traded for money and also gives you cheaper gas for your car. You also get coupons in the mail relative to the specific products you buy :) They have so many products that I can usually do all my shopping here!

The Good: Clean, fresher produce than most of the competition, prices are reasonable for the market. The Bad: Absolutely no rhyme or reason to the store layout. It's a chore to navigate and similar items are placed 1/2 a store away. I can't blame then for the selfish driving, but speed bumps would help slow traffic.

The deli is well taken care of. The veggies were in good shape. Being the end/first of the month sling with super bowl grilling meat , hot dogs and bread was wiped out. A woman behind the counter nane Janet at Carr's accused me of stealing . When question about it she said it wasn't this time it was five other times. Unless Carr's has it taped or evidence, It is DEFAMATION . Janet is a liability and should not be working. She is a Carr's employee. When I asked for a manager she refused to get one and said she was going to get paid no matter how she treats me. I insisted she get a manager. A customer got be in line behind me. Normally they would say can u please stop so we can make our purchase. The customer is bad. He was spoiling to see a fight. He is one of those. He started interjecting and jumping in and egging it on. He said some rude Asian slurs. When I talked to the manager, Lisa she told me Janet was A) complaining that I was rude and interrupted her when she Janet she was with a customer. And B) Janet can Refuse service for that reason or any reason. First of all, I asked if she had a wine opener. She was not upset but stopped and tried to sell me a wine opener which I refused bcs the customer in line said he had one in his pocket to open my soda. She then got upset and said I was stealing. Second of all she is not just punching numbers . She is dealing with people and if she doesn't get something she likes, she is in customer service it's part of service. It's not just punching numbers. She could have said I can't talk to u now Mam. Second, there was no service to refuse because I was not looking to buy anything. If there was refusal it better be with reason. I know u don't have to be intellectual behind a counter but u should be reasonable. There are Prejudices. Janet's girlfriend may have had another girl my build so she hates girls my build. Or if she is not gay, her husband may have cheated on her with some one my build. So if you are going to Refuse service, make sure there is a Good reason. A fair one. Otherwise it is a prejudice. Janet was prejudice. She was profiling me that I had a shabby jacket on so I was stealing. She insists it's me and she is not mistaken. So unless Carr's has proof it is defamation. Not a mistake. Janet has alot of hate towards whatever. Let's put that Hate on upon her Loved ones . And see how it fares. Lisa also said she wasn't there so she is not responsible. She owns the place on paper so she is liable. And if she doesn't own Carr's. She is a paid employee and is responsible for the duties her managing position that she accepted requires. I like this location. It’s usually well stocked and they have a lot of organic non gmo food. I only have it 4 stars because there becoming a little annoying with the self checkout. The same reason why I stopped shopping at Walmart. There getting a little pushy with self checkout. Please do not ask customers (who are already in line to checkout with a cashier) if they want to do self checkout! If you see me standing in line to deal with a cashier, it’s pretty obvious I’m not interested in self checkout! If I wanted to do it I would have walked over there myself instead of getting in line.

I like their hours and locations and their rewards. Other stores seem to cater to certain ethnic groups I don’t care except when they take away healthy food and drinks for one specific ethnicity so I don’t shop there even though it’s closer to me than Fred Meyers

Turned in prescription to be picked up in 3 weeks. Came to pickup at Fred Meyers Abbott only to find it needed insurance authorization. Only had a few pills left and running out would create a significant health concern. This created a crisis on a Friday for myself and the doctor's staff to prevent from running out. This is my second incident from the Abbott Loop pharmacy. The procedural cause is speculative on my part, but there is a problem. My assumptions is that telephone or email notification of the problem, form forwarding to doctor and followup, and low staffing. Their motto is "Your health is number #1". Bottom line, it appears to me that I was not #1. I will take mediocrity in a lot of customer service situations, but with health care, especially pharmaceuticals is not one. I will be taking my business to my "out of the way" original location and hopefully get better management of my medications.

Was meeting my boss to collect my last paycheck in the parking lot. He was not there yet so I went to the bathroom. As I was coming out of the restroom hallway, the door lady was walking like she was headed to the bathroom.... I walked directly to the entrance and when I turned around to put my bag down to get my gloves on the lady was right behind me. I shop there often so I said "hello, how are u", she replied that her dog had died that day, I gave her a hug and told her "sorry to hear that!" She then proceeds yo ask me if I had purchased anything, all the time eyeing my bag! I was so shocked I simply said "no, I was using the restroom". I didn't know it was OK to make customers feel like the staff thinks they are thieves! This is the same Fred Meyers that I had my bike tires ripped off my bike while I was in the store for 35 minutes a month ago. So frustrated and not impressed.
