Neat little grocery that has a great variety in a small space. This reminds me of the grocery stores of my childhood, in the 1970's. Customer service was good, store was clean, and people were helpful, no complaints. I rate this 5 stars because you know what you're getting when stopping here, it's NOT Whole Foods in a ritzy area. All's cool.

They must have to specifficaly request the rudest barely verbally security guard from signal 88. I asked the guard where I could find napkins for my deli food, because there where no available deli employees. He refused to make eye contact, and grunted and pointed twords the back of the store. I then repeated, no for my hot food, again without making eye contact mumbeled I don't know. Definitely not the way to make customers feel valued.

Although this store is in an unpopular place, there are many items at 50%, especially yogurt, orange juice, and sometimes milk. Security is on duty. Always a quick check-out. Clerks are friendly. The parking lot can be scary, but it's not the store's fault.

Would be helpful to have the location is was at so I can give a proper review. Jewel Lake and Gambel locations are my favorites. I detest the Northway Mall location. Too much vagrant and drug activity outside of that store and the employees are slow and usually grumpy.

A number of reasons to avoid this store. Basically it's in the middle of a sketchy part of town and at the center of a popular pan handling corner. I drop in sometimes for a quick pick up and usually see a fight or someone stealing something.

It is a Safeway-Carr's, in the middle of a low income/homeless area. The employees are always friendly and out going to my wife and I. But it is the type of place that if you want, mouthwash, vanilla extract (really any extract) cough syrup or anything suspended in alcohol, you have to ask customer service to pull it from behind the counter. As well expect the indigenous population of either ask you for change, if you have alcohol for if you would buy it for them. I have found that some people are fairly uncomfortable going to that store.

I will not shop at another Carrs again. Altho thier employee's are mostly nice (except thier Oaken Keg, seen really rude people behind the counter there) managment is lacking. I went in at 8:30 pm, they only had one checkout open with a line of 6 in front of me. After ten minutes i was still 5th in line with 6 behind me now, 12 in line and only one checkout open. I have seen this at Northway mall and the Debarr stores too. STOOPID! I set my groceries down and went to Fred Meyer, its farther from my home but they had several checkouts open and i didnt have to wait. Ill not shop at another Carrs if I have ANY other options.

Works as a grocery store. Just wish they would be more active in removing all the homeless that stand out front and beg for stuff. Gets old. At times they will even come up and knock on yout window when you are sitting in your car, trying to get stuff. They have security, but the place is overrun with homeless at times.

A woman behind the counter nane Janet at Carr's accused me of stealing . When question about it she said it wasn't this time it was five other times. Unless Carr's has it taped or evidence, It is DEFAMATION . Janet is a liability and should not be working. She is a Carr's employee. When I asked for a manager she refused to get one and said she was going to get paid no matter how she treats me. I insisted she get a manager. A customer got be in line behind me. Normally they would say can u please stop so we can make our purchase. The customer is bad. He was spoiling to see a fight. He is one of those. He started interjecting and jumping in and egging it on. He said some rude Asian slurs. When I talked to the manager, Lisa she told me Janet was A) complaining that I was rude and interrupted her when she Janet she was with a customer. And B) Janet can Refuse service for that reason or any reason. First of all, I asked if she had a wine opener. She was not upset but stopped and tried to sell me a wine opener which I refused bcs the customer in line said he had one in his pocket to open my soda. She then got upset and said I was stealing. Second of all she is not just punching numbers . She is dealing with people and if she doesn't get something she likes, she is in customer service it's part of service. It's not just punching numbers. She could have said I can't talk to u now Mam. Second, there was no service to refuse because I was not looking to buy anything. If there was refusal it better be with reason. I know u don't have to be intellectual behind a counter but u should be reasonable. There are Prejudices. Janet's girlfriend may have had another girl my build so she hates girls my build. Or if she is not gay, her husband may have cheated on her with some one my build. So if you are going to Refuse service, make sure there is a Good reason. A fair one. Otherwise it is a prejudice. Janet was prejudice. She was profiling me that I had a shabby jacket on so I was stealing. She insists it's me and she is not mistaken. So unless Carr's has proof it is defamation. Not a mistake. Janet has alot of hate towards whatever. Let's put that Hate on upon her Loved ones . And see how it fares. Lisa also said she wasn't there so she is not responsible. She owns the place on paper so she is liable. And if she doesn't own Carr's. She is a paid employee and is responsible for the duties her managing position that she accepted requires. Creepy Carrs or crackhead Carrs as it is often called. Not the safest or the cleanest of the local branded Safeway stores, however they have fantastic sales on meat after holidays due to the low traffic. The cashier I always see there on workdays, Mike, is quick and efficient.

Carr's/Safeway is one of the few choices we have in Alaska, even in Anchorage. I try to shop for the specials on non perishable and frozen foods, and stocking up. You can save a lot of money here by doing that.

No toilet for customers?! Not very family friendly in my opinion. You have to wait for someone with a key to show up while your kid pees on themselves. And to top it off, no changing table in the bathroom where they take you. So good luck if you have a baby with a diaper blow up while you're doing groceries with children
