Our girls boarding school discovered bed bugs just as the new term began. One of the international students apparently gave them a ride in some luggage. Despite being 2 hours away SBBS came immediately and treated the dorm rooms and common spaces. Problem solved! We were so glad we used the dogs and heat treatment instead of the chemicals.

The frustration with this company has been abysmal. We had a bedbug infestation in our condo through another affected unit in the building. We were advised by SBBS to opt for a super expensive heat treatment (instead of chemical treatment) as more effective. We opted for that , at a cost of USD 1800 (sic!). Only one month warranty was provided. After 37 days, bedbugs could be found again all over the apartment. Instead of gifting SBBS with another usd 1800 check, we contacted another Pest Control company which offered a different treatment for one third of the price and three months warranty. I feel that our experience with SBBS was just scam. Needless to say, those in the building who, like us, had chosen SBBS, continue to find bedbugs while others had sorted the matter promptly.

Before treatment they were very polite. The treatment failed (within 2 days we found bugs again). Afterwards, they treated us really poorly. They won't respond to emails or calls and have failed to honor the warranty that they presented. In addition, they misrepresented their service, broke things and their inspection failed on 2 separate occasions. 1. Failure to detect bugs at all (the dogs didn't work): On 2 separate occasions SBBS have inspected our house (once before and once after treatment). Both times they found nothing. Within hours after the first inspection I saw bugs crawling around the house. To make matters worse, I told the inspector that we had seen bugs near the floorboards and walls. He did not check there. That was exactly where I found the bug after he left. On the second occasion, I had a second company come the next day. They found bugs within 5 minutes of being in the house. 2. Poorly diagnosed the problem leading to expensive and ineffective treatment: This company only does heat treatment. That sounds good in theory, but heat won't work if the bugs live in the walls. You need a combined chemical and heat treatment. I told the inspector the bugs lived in the walls (at the time I did not know heat was ineffective). He still recommended treatment without properly inspecting and with good information that heat would be ineffective. Only after we had paid and treatment failed did the second inspector tell us that heat alone wouldn't work. Other companies combine heat with DE powder in the walls. 3. Misrepresented their terms of service Before treatment I was worried about spending so much money (about $2900 for treatment). The inspector went on and on about the warranty how it was a full 30 day warranty. He further guaranteed that the treatment would work and explained that was why they could offer such an extensive warranty. We made several inquiries about it to the company. Once treatment failed, only then they told us that they would treat just one more time and we were on our own. The second inspector recommended that we wait until towards the end of the warranty period so that we go the most out of it. The implication was that we should live with the bugs and that they were not going to go away. But the best we could do was wait so we killed as many as we can. 4. 2 doors and a cabinet panel broke during treatment: They didn't say anything about things breaking. Instead, they just returned the cabinet panel to where it belonged.

The people at SBBS were amazing! They talked us through our options and when the day came to inspect they did a very thorough job. They even offered to inspect our neighbor's apartment for free (the suspected source of the bed bugs). They gave us a great price to do the whole apartment and even offered us a special warranty because we were moving house the day of the treatment. With the nightmare that dealing with bed bugs was SBBS was like a dream. It has only been 2-3 weeks since the treatment, but the peace of mind I have recaptured is basically priceless. update: after living in our new house for almost 5 months we have still seen no sign of bed bugs. I feel confident that we will not see any new bed bugs (unless it's a brand new infestations).

While the individuals at SBBS were extremely helpful and kind throughout my experience, I unfortunately CANNOT recommend SBBS as your exterminator. I was living in a large house with several roommates when we first discovered bedbugs in August 2018. SBBS was chosen as the exterminator, and they confirmed that the bedbugs were confined to only two bedrooms on the other side of the house. It took two rounds of extermination to get rid of the bugs and throughout that time, SBBS confirmed again and again that my room was clear. About 6 weeks later in mid-September, I moved out of that house and into a 1BR. On the morning of my move, I called SBBS to do a final inspection of my room just to be COMPLETELY sure that I was good to move out. They gave me the okay that my room was cleared. I moved into my 1BR feeling confident that I was not bringing any bugs with me. Unfortunately, just a couple weeks later in the beginning of October, I started getting my first bites. Not wanting to believe it (I was cleared not once, not twice but THREE times by SBBS), I stalled for a couple weeks convincing myself these bites were anything but. In hindsight, I probably should have chosen a different exterminator considering they'd made a mistake in clearing me to move, but in my panic, it was just easier to use the same exterminator that my former roommates had chosen rather than weighing my options and vetting another company. I called SBBS and their inspection confirmed that I had bedbugs. The extermination was scheduled so we proceeded with getting our house prepped. The exterminators confirmed that we prepped our house correctly. They assured me the extermination went well. But after a couple of weeks, I started getting more bites. I called and reported the bites, and SBBS sent a follow up inspector. The inspector told me he found no evidence of bedbugs, and therefore could not complete an extermination, even though I had several bites all over my body. But, that's their policy and they wouldn't budge. A couple weeks later - just days before our warranty expired - I begged SBBS to send out another inspector because I was still getting bit. This time, the inspector found evidence of bedbugs, and we scheduled the extermination. So here I am, two weeks after SBBS's second extermination (or fourth, if you consider my old house), with bites on my legs. We called a different company, obviously, to do an inspection this morning, and they found live bedbugs. Thousands of dollars, four months, dozens of bites, and a few breakdowns and sleepless nights later, and we STILL have bedbugs. Thank you, SBBS, for wasting my time and money.

We were extremely pleased with SBBS and we highly recommend them. Prompt call-backs, on time for appointments, very knowledgeable and forthcoming with detailed information on bedbugs and how to prevent future infestations. Employees (including the K9 employees) were very professional and friendly, and they took the time needed to inspect the rooms very carefully, explain the treatment process, and answer all our questions. More expensive than we expected - but because we used the first company we called (too panicked to price shop), we really have no idea what is the "average" cost of this type of service. In any event, we are 100% satisfied with SBBS and will definitely use them again if it becomes necessary in the future. A very positive experience!

We hired SBBS to conduct a preemptive inspection of our rental home for bed bugs prior to our tenants moving in. The overall experience was first class in that we were able to obtain the inspection on the same day we called for their service. This was important because our tenants were slated to move in the following day. Our inspector Stephanie and her dog performed a thorough search of the entire home and answered all of our questions. We will definitely hire them again when our tenants move out.

Without going into exhaustive and probably unnecessary detail of the whole experience, I want to say that I can’t be any happier with the service that Superior Bed Bug Solutions provided. While other companies collects checks and sends people over who only have no real knowledge of their practice or care for your situation, Superior provided the best service, knowledgeable help, and most importantly a real human experience. Jesse and David both clearly grasp the emotional aspect of this experience as well, and were able to deal with an anxiety-ridden mess like myself perfectly. From start to end, the service and performance of Superior far surpassed my previous experience with another company, and yes, no bed bugs. Don’t hesitate to call them up.

READ THIS REVIEW! You need to know about the contract SBBS insisted I sign when they showed up for bed bug treatment. This is a week after I paid them $200 for their initial inspection, which found bed bugs. It is also after an enormous amount of work to prepare for the special requirements of heat treatment that SBBS gives you. The contract had extraordinary provisions I had never seen in any agreement before, and I refused to sign without edits, especially since I already had a signed agreement from SBBS to do the work that they had filled out when they did the initial visit. The house was ready, I had the pets in carry cases ready to vacate the house, and SBBS walked away from the job and left me bug infested and starting all over. The days of work needed to prepare for heat treatment were largely wasted (the exterminators that I ended up using – less than half the price! -- used different methods and required hardly any prep). To be clear, I had a signed agreement from SBBS to conduct heat treatment for $2600 to get rid of bed bugs. They had already inspected the house and found the bugs. It took another week to schedule the treatment – a week that was needed for all the prep work moving furniture, running all clothes and linens through the dryer, gathering all the things that needed to be removed from the house to avoid heat damage). When the tech showed up, he walked the house, said everything was ready, and then sprung the contract. It came with an ultimatum. The tech said the contract couldn’t be changed, and they wouldn’t do the work without it. He refused to let me speak to the manager, and the company has not responded to my communications since they walked out on me. I have attached a picture of the contract. It has a “strict confidentiality” agreement requiring SBSS’ written approval before posting any reviews. It was a release from any liability for pretty much anything, including fire and “failure to perform the Services.” Keep in mind that you are supposed to vacate the house to their tech for hours. The contract even shielded the company from their own negligence. I have never seen anything like it. Before they walked out on me, I made every effort to reach an accommodation, including agreeing to sign a contract with the most offensive sections simply crossed out. They refused my offer, as well as my request to speak to the manager. The tech left the house for his calls with the manager. P.S. Keep in mind the confidentiality agreement when evaluating the review ratings.
