Disappointed.
I signed up for the services because of the persisting ant problem. After the first treatment around the house in June of 2018, I still had ants in my kitchen. That was the first disappointment as I thought that professional treatment should work better than my own. Nonetheless, Landlock offered to come and treat the inside of the house. So, they did. The effect lasted for about a week, and then I had ants again. After that, Landlock came a few other times leaving ant traps. The effect also lasted for about one-two weeks. A friend of mine recommended using store-bought TERRA ant traps, which I did. It worked about the same, and I did not bother to call Landlock anymore. So, Landlock was continuing coming once every three months as scheduled for the outside treatment.
When the temperature was cool, there were no mosquito or ant problems. Since I was treating the inside of the house myself with TERRA and since I did not want chemicals around the house anymore, I decided to cancel my yearly subscription. I emailed with the cancelation notice on March 14, 2019, asking to cancel as of June 15, 2019 (when my contract ends). Customer care representative – Ms. Pamela – called me back a few days later. We talked and I asked her to cancel my subscription with my last payment being made in April 2019. Although I said I do not need any services in April (I wanted bees on my flower beds around the house), Ms. Pamela said that Landlock still must perform the last service. So, we decided that someone will come around April 15 and treat ONLY the inside of the house. After that treatment, I did not want the services anymore. Instead, a few days later, I received a voicemail of another customer rep saying that Landlock will come on April 1 with a regular service around the house. Although I was at home, I did not see when Landlock came. But they came. Nobody knocked on the door to offer the inside treatment as I anticipated. I did not complain since it was already late – sadly enough, the chemicals were already sprayed around the outside of the house. At last, a week ago, I noticed a mouse under the kitchen sink. I decided to call Landlock one last time. I called on Friday (May 10), Ms. Pamela said that she will call me back in the afternoon. She neither called on Fri nor on Monday. I called again on Tuesday (May 14). She said that she already closed my account and I must pay to reactivate. That is, taking into account, that my contract is still technically active till June 15, 2019. Yes, I said before that I did not want services anymore, but Landlock also said that they will come one day with specific service but came two weeks earlier with another service which I did not authorize.
With all that said, was it much to ask to leave a mouse trap one last time and make a customer happy, Landlock? I was not a bad customer. You did not have payment problems with me and did not have to come more than 3 times extra in the beginning for the whole year.
So, people, BE AWARE that treatment MAY NOT BE AS EFFECTIVE, and you MAY NOT EASILY CANCEL passed the first three days of signing. Also, learn from my story.
