I do not recommend Detect Termite / BrickKicker. This Business has a significant conflict of interest as they will inspect your home for termites, and they also do the repairs. So guess what, if you use them for an inspection, the report will show an infestation with needed repairs. AND they will do both. Self-serving in my opinion. Having a long term contract with a reputable pest control service and ongoing pest free reports, when I sold my house the buyers used Detect, for an inspection. Detect determined that the house was infested, and in serious need of termite repair to the tune of over $5000.00. In there report they shared no pictures and did not mark the "damage" under the house. When contacted, they were quite rude and told us to "Guess" what was damaged by the "termite infestation". Do not use Detect Termite / BrickKicker.

I am a first time home buyer and am in the process of purchasing my first condo. I hired BrickKicker to do the inspection and they were amazing. As a first time home buyer, there is a lot I don't know. I asked them if they minded if I followed them around and asked questions about what they were noting and just what I should look at maintaining if I buy the condo. They answered all my questions so simply and kindly, I really felt confident that I had a better idea of what was going on and what I need to look for in the future. On top of that, I came with a cashier's check and they told me I was quoted $25 more than I should have been.They were so kind and helpful that I was okay giving an extra $25 but Mike asked for my address so that he could send me a refund check. These guys definitely know their business and are just so genuine in general - I would 100% recommend!

“Performed” a termite/moisture inspection, received a quote for almost $2000 in moisture repairs, but no photos of damage. And from the looks of it, didn’t even go under the house, as the crawl space door was under my back deck, no lattice was even disturbed or removed. No evidence of even trying to remove said lattice. The crawl space door still had dirt build up on the outside, that would had to have been removed to even remove the crawl space door. I’d suggest using someone else.

Had to delay the signing to fix the things they missed and am still finding things that they told me were fine. They do stick by their money back guarantee but I would rather pay someone to do the inspection correctly next time.

Brickkicker did an inspection on a home that I was in the process of buying in June 2018 by Mike Martin, the inspector. We then decided to sell our house in May 2019 and the person buying the house using Mike Martin of Brickkicker. It was not identified that the house needed collar ties when we brought the house but when the buyer was buying the house in May they stated that they recommended the need for collar ties for the house. The need for collar ties did not change from June 2018 until May 2019. So before I hired a contractor to fix the collar ties, so that I can sell the house I tried to call Brickkicker in order to get an explanation as to why this was not identified at the first inspection. I was given the inspector's, Mike Martin, telephone number and tried to call him and text him but did not receive an answer. With this being the case I had to get this resolved before the final inspection so that I can sell my house.. I received call backs after I sold my house with no resolution. Brickkicker in Norfolk does not stand by their work and if you get the same inspector twice in less that a year do not expect the same results. I was told this by the Lead Inspector as well as the owner. I know that normal wear and tear will change but not the need for collar ties. They are not a reputable company and they will not stand by their work. So when choosing Brickkicker out of Norfolk, Buyer/Seller beware. If you are unsure of what collar ties are google it because the need for or lack thereof does not change. I will not remove this review because if this problem was identified on the first inspection how come it was not brought to our attention so that we could have gotten it fixed then. It was not and we had to pay for it. I did go to numerous contractors but against my better judgement I waited for your inspector to call me and when he did not those contractors had work already lined up. i was lucky to get a contractor, who did an excellent job by the way, It was not about over paying it was about your company inspecting the same house using the same inspector in less than a year and coming up with different results. When I tried to contact the company I did not get a call back until after I sold the house. Apparently time is not of the essence for your company but it was for me selling my house. All it would have taken was a simple call back.

Chris and his brother sprayed my home in Norfolk back in late 2016 for fungus under the house and dropped chemicals for termites both inside and outside the foundation. I was getting the crawl space encapsulated and sealed along with sump pumps and french drains installed (by Bay Crawlspace), and Chris was great, he came in the day between the french drains being done and the encapsulation being done which worked out perfect for all parties. Very reasonable price, great communications, underside of house looks great, three years and no issues with either fungus or pests since. I got quotes from five other companies in Tidewater and they came in the most reasonable and worked out great. Highly recommended.

These guys are terrible. They missed obvious water damage and they are awful communicators. Was difficult to even schedule an appointment. They don't check their messages and don't call you back. Just awful. Use another inspector. *EDIT* Pretty surprising for a company to get caught in such an easy to debunk lie. Don't use these guys, cost me hundreds in repairs. Maybe a photo of your own contract will help you remember dissatisfied customers.

My real estate agent called in the Brickkicker team to inspect the house we are buying. The team did a thorough job inspecting the house and had the experience to know all of the things to look for. They also produced a very detailed report that my realtor took to the seller to get them to make repairs so I don't have to. Thank you guys.
