TERRIBLY RUN COMPANY!!!! DO NOT USE!!!!!!!!!
I only hit one star because it doesn't allow a lower rating. Last May we contacted Best Home & Property because we were in need of pest control and wanted to remodel our bathroom and this company offered both with the option of making payments for the remodel. The pest control service came and went no problem; we met with the contractor in May. We discussed wanted the entire bathroom gutted, i.e. walls, ceiling, floors, etc. We asked that we receive the highest possible quote so that there are no surprises during the process. We received a quote but it was less than the $5000 minimum required to be financed. So we went ahead and asked that they re-do our fence as well. After some discussion and negotiating we agreed to proceed. We went through there secondary party for the loan and was approved by the end of June. We were told by the contractor that the work would start by the first of August. We explained that we would purchase the toilet, the sink and base, and the tub. Everything else was to be included in the quote. So we purchased those items in May. We had to contact Best to find out when they were going to start because we had not heard from them and they told us rudely that it was because we took so long with the loan approval...after a disturbing conversation they finally told us it would be September before they would get started!!!! Home Depot would not hold our items beyond August 13th. The contractor did go and pick up our items and store them but making it seem like it was an issue with the company and they were doing us a favor. The work began on September 11th which was a week later than scheduled. We were told the work would take one week(they do not work on weekends). During the process the contractor kept sending us to Home Depot or Lowes to pick up items (we spent an additional $500 at those places)They were here for 2 work weeks and left the job unfinished and the contract told us that the contract only paid him for 10 days and anything more the company would charge us. So again "doing us a favor" he was going to come back on his own time to finish. We are now in the middle of October...I am 7 months pregnant, with a high risk pregnancy and my husband a combat veteran; this process has already caused us so much undue stress. The company calls as a follow-up to see how we liked our work and if there were any issues. I was aghast. I told her the work was incomplete. We didnt have a light over the toilet...just hanging wires, no back-splash in the shower, no tile in the closet, no baseboards, no light cover on the other light, no vent for the a/c, the doors were not replaced the old ones were used. The fence was another issue...screws were left everywhere, they used the old 4x4s and the original rusted locks for the gates.
The company said the contractor submitted the job as complete and didn't know about these issues. The owner(finally) got involved very appologetic. Said he was going to come over to look at the work that was incomplete. He never showed. He sent the contractor instead. So we declined him being there. The company called us and asked why we weren't there and we explained that we were told the owner, Dewey, would be meeting us and he was not. That we were lied to. After some discussion the contractor came out with Dewey. The owner left as quickly as he came. The contractor was being very passive aggressive which is what we were afraid was going to happen. He even went as far as to tell me he had to pay out of pocket for the baseboards and that basically we were the reason that he and the company would be parting ways.
They finally left having done the job terribly and not worth the money paid. Our "baseboard" is literally just 1x4 boards not actual baseboards. We still do not have a vent cover for the A/C there is just a hole in the ceiling. And he did not put a flange behind the shower head so the wall started cracking immediately.
