Halt Pest Control has been treating our house for ants and other bugs for nearly 20 years. That alone should tell you how happy we've been with their service. Everyone I've dealt with in this company has been knowledgeable and helpful, and their treatment has kept those pesky ants at bay. We sometimes think back to those days when we'd come into the kitchen and find the countertop covered with ants, or when we'd discover a candy bar one of the kids left on the floor crawling with those guys. When I first reached out to this company ,I was helped over the phone by Delaney (sp?). She was great! very sweet, helpful, and seemed very honest. Cole was the one who came to my home and was very nice and informative as well. I was given a 3 hour window, but live close to where I work, so I asked if they could just text me when they were on the way and I could meet them there. I was a bit nervous about doing that because some office/tech communications don't always seem smooth or complete. But no, it worked great. Cole texted me when he was on the way and I met him there. That worked perfectly. I think my ant situation is dying down, but it is too soon to tell. If it is fixed, you could really make this a 5 star review.

We live in a new development and started noticing a small ant invasion coming through our back patio door. Normally when battling ants, the remedy never seems to be immediate because you have to wait for the soldier ants to carry bait back to the colony. Scott from Halt was our technician, and he was extremely patient with my questions because we have cats and didn't want any interior treatments to cause health problems for them. Scott told me all about the baits they use and assured me there would be no problems with pets. He also affirmed my previous understanding about how to effectively treat ants, so he set my expectation that we'd see an increase in activity for the next couple of days. Well, we definately saw a LOT more ants taking the bait, but the next morning...NOTHING! It's been 2 weeks now, and there still hasn't been any further ant invasions. We are very grateful for Scott's help, his patience, his completeness, and knowledge. Thanks again!

We have had Halt Pest Control for several years now. We are extremely happy with this business. We originally hired them when we had a bad infestation of sugar Ants that defied all of our home remedies. They came out, were friendly and professional and began a program of quarterly spraying. They also advised us on steps to take to make our home less attractive to pests. It took a year or more to get the ants under control. But, since they also came out anytime we called and said, " we have ants in the house again!", at no additional charge, they provided not only a solution to our problem, but, peace of mind. Their Customer Service is Stellar. They respond quickly to any requests and both the people you speak with on the phone, and the Service Technicians who come out to your house, are happy to help in any way they can. I would rate them in the top 5 of businesses I have hired in Portland.

This is the BEST, most knowledgeable and friendly pest control company in the Portland area (and probably anywhere, for that matter)! We've got a couple of dogs in our home and they're always careful to use their materials safely and to let us know what we need to do to keep them that way. We’re in the process of selling our house and during the inspection, the inspector tried to look in our crawlspace and couldn’t because it was filled with bees! Halt was the fourth company I had look at the mystery attic sounds I was trying to resolve. The technician gave me info that the other three either didn't want to be honest about or didn't realize: The rodent signs he saw were old and did not indicate a current problem. Halt saved me from spending literally thousands of dollars on a solution that wouldn't have worked. While they didn't identify the source of my problem, they should be commended as a reputable company that seeks to do the right thing.

He adjusted the proposed schedule to accommodate the roofing and siding construction being done and returned after it was completed to "touch up." While I would prefer not to have the insects and mice at all, and no need for the service, it was a pleasant experience. I certainly recommend Halt to those needing to be rid of pests.
