I looked up on Angie’slist for a pest control provider because I needed to get a yearly spraying inside and out. Angie’slist sent me the names of three high rated providers. I contacted Preventative and they set up a time for two days from the date I called. They told me the time the pest control specialist, Michael Lujan, would arrive and how much it would cost. It was a reasonable price. The specialist showed up at the designated time, explained to me what he would be doing and then went about spraying. He was knowledgeable, professional and courteous. The specialist sprayed for almost a hour or so (he even put a small, clear container near the sink which would take care of any ants. I paid the bill that had been quoted to me earlier, and he went to his next job. So far, so good. I haven’t seen anything inside and only have seen a couple dead roaches outside on the back porch. I will hire again.

I cannot deal with roaches and moving into an older home, it is almost a given there will be some. We called PPC and their service person, Chris, was very kind and patient. I trust him. He earned that trust by being honest and straightforward. They are not as cheap as me poisoning my home with hardware stuff but they are certainly more effective and worth the price. I have no regrets or doubt that we made the right choice.

We used to be with Preventive Pest a couple years back and the service was excellent! We never had issues with ants or roaches when we were here at home to let them spray all areas; However we did haveissues with the scheduling because they would show up whenever they wanted and would miss the back yard (then the roaches would come) and would have to schedule a time frame and then not show during the time frame. We left Preventive, went with another company but would constantly have to supplement with spray ourselves and decided to go back to Preventive. So far, they've been more than helpful to make sure scheduling issues are resolved and after the first spray, we did have a huge trail of ants a few days later but, I called them and they sent out a technician that day and he took care of the issue. So far, I'm happy and am ant, wasp and roach free!

I was with them for 2 years and 3 months. One day they were supposed to come to my house sometime from 10-1pm. I skipped my child's soccer game and waited for 3.5 hours. Finally at 2pm. (one hour AFTER the last hour they were supposed to come) I got a call saying the guy was on his way. I wasted over 3 hours of my life waiting on them. I had to leave. When they came the next time they showed up unannounced at 8:30 on a Wednesday morning. I was already running late for work and had to wait for them to finish so I could let my dogs out to potty and then leave to work. I called them to tell them about the past 2 mishaps and instead of approving a curtacy service they said they'd give me a $10 discount. MY 2 YEARS OF BEING A LOYAL CUSTOMER TO THEM WAS ONLY WORTH $10 AND THEY DIDN'T GIVE A HOOT ABOUT ME WAITING AROUND FOR THEM FOR 3.5 HOURS WITHOUT A CALL OR THEM SHOWING UP. There's a tone of pest control services around - there are others who care about your business more.

This morning we noticed what I thought might be droppings in the garage and after multiple ant invasions, we decided to give Preventive Pest Control a call. They were very friendly and had a tech out the very same day. Chris, the tech, was so professional, friendly, and had attention to detail. He checked the entire base of the house, garden, and sidewalk. In his qualified opinion, he did not suspect we had rodents (definitely ants!) but still left 6 traps for my peace of mind. Preventive Pest hires local veterans and offers industry-leading training to its employees. Cherry on top: their introductory price is phenomenal for services offered. I received a bill for $89. When I called them to tell them what the employee had told me and he didn't treat my home they took off the charge will no issues. Dominic was efficient and when he asked if any particular concerns recently...did a "mouse in my house" assessment. A very reasonable estimate to secure mouse entry sites was drawn up. He answers all questions with obvious knowledge of the business. Then he did the routine pest control treatment that is done every two months. Both technicians that have been to the house are personable, friendly and professional. Each time they are here they treat to the time of year concerns, such as where spraying in relation to walls, landscape fabric, edible plants, water features. I love to feed songbirds, and they take care not to do anything that will harm them, but also make sure bugs don't get inside my house. I love the wire on my roof that prevents pigeons from perching, and if you have a pigeon problem, they will trap and remove them. Total thumbs up for Preventive!

The tech explained to me exactly what I was getting, and why, and what to expect. I had a great experience, as we had just moved into our first house, and immediately had a roach issue. The bug problem was fixed and we didn't need to have them out again for another year! Only reason I give 4 stars is it's a bit pricey for just a routine spraying. As a newbie I was really glad for the peace of mind and it was worth it, but next year I'm going to try and do it myself.

They go above and beyond every time including driving all the way back to my house when I failed to be there on time to bring my dogs inside. They also take notes on what matters to me. They required my house to be emptied out before they would do the treatment I was told they would patch and repair any damage they created they put several holes in my walls and refused to patch or repair them. Do not use this company for termites they lie to you and damage your personal property.

Overall, I've been very happy with my service over the years I've had it. They are very good about rescheduling service dates if necessary and making additional visits if needed. The price for their service is very reasonable as compared to other businesses. My only complaints are that the text messaging system they had previously led to some misunderstanding about actual service dates and times. But it appears that they have modified this. Only other complaint is how they dealt with a issue I had with mice. They would only put out snap traps that were not safe for my pets or the pets of my neighbors, since the traps could blow off of the walls and a pet could set it off. Overall though, I've been very pleased to deal with Preventive Pest for years now.

These guys did such an awesome job with the home inspection we ended up hiring them to come out and take care of bugs we had in the house. They were quick, professional, and they have a 30 day warranty. We ended up calling them back and they asked where we were having issues. I told them specifically which rooms we saw the ants in and the PPC guy found two colonies just outside those rooms. He eliminated them promptly. It was awesome how much they listen and resolve your pest issues. We'll definitely be calling them again and recommending them to others.

Used Preventive for over a year with no problems. They changed their billing system for automatic payments and I had a past amount due. I called and paid the past due amount and set up future services. Two weeks later, I'm checking my voice mail (I never check my voicemail) and a week prior they had DOUBLE BILLED MY ACCOUNT. They wanted to know if I wanted to come in to get the check or have them mail the over-billed amount. Well, I called today, and they still haven't done anything with the doubled billed money they were supposed to return to my account... "since she didn't hear from me and she has a lot of accounts". BAD Customer service. No follow up on YOUR MISTAKE which affects my bank account. If you double bill someone's account, its imperative upon YOU to make sure you CORRECT THE MISTAKE YOU MADE. Goodbye Preventive. I have too may choices, and prefer a business that actually cares about its customers.

This company was supposed to kill the weeds in our yard. They were never able to do the job. Spoke with Rodrigo in their office over and over but he never offered any more than respraying. He admitted that the "new" chemical they had used did not work. In order for them to respray with the proper chemical, we had to pay a lawn company $160 to cut down the weeds that Preventive was not able to kill. Received no compensation from Preventive, were only offered a discount on our next 6 months of service. I fired them. If they couldn't fix the problem in over 6 months, why would I pay them more money to fail again? They still owe me $160 but have made it clear they do not care. Never had any trouble with the indoor pest service.

It's been 3 weeks since our initial treatment and we're still seeing spiders around the outer perimeter of our home. Part of their service is the ability of them to return and repeat the treatment if we still see bugs. Well, I called (albeit after hours) and left a voicemail stating that we still had bugs and to please contact me to arrange a follow up treatment. That was a week ago and I still haven't heard from them. I also don't like their very one sided contract that essentially ropes me into keeping them for a year. At this point I would be hard pressed to recommend them. The only reason they're not a 2 star rating is because our technician was a nice guy.

I moved to Rio Rancho from Florida where usually the bugs are bigger but we had a mild winter in NM. I'm a NM native of 26 years and never saw so many roaches as this year on the west side of town. Called this company because i was referred by a family member. Brian came the next day. Exceptional service for roaches outside trying to get inside and a spider problem ugh. He sprayed everywhere and did an awesome job and showed me some problem areas. He will be coming every other month. I recommend this company highly! The man who came out was really nice, prompt and pleasant, did his job well, and I was happy with how they handled my questions/concerns. I appreciate that the same person typically helps us so that they are familiar with our individual needs and past. Kudos to Jonathan for his great service. He is very patient and knowledgeable. I had previously had an arborist come out and diagnose my trees with "roundup poisoning". When Jonathan came out for my scheduled pest control service, I mentioned the diagnosis of my trees. He took the time to check the trees out himself, and noticed that there was a wood wasp depositing its larva into my trees. He sent me a follow up email with more information on this and recommended a service.

Would not recommend, not due to their technicians but their office management. For a year everytime they were supposed to come they left a card the day of service saying they could not perform the service due a past due balance on the account. Despite updating my card information numerous times and then swearing the issue was fixed this continued to happen. Very unhappy with the lack of communication and consistent mistakes by their office staff. Will finally be looking for another company to work with.

No option for a zero .. Been a customer for many years and had great service. Had medical issues and three family members pass away so of course I fell behind. When I would call in payments I told the staff do not send out any of there service techs until my account is paid in full. I always had there techs show up asking to spray our house and calls to set up an appointment. THEY can never follow directions.. This morning I called into make a payment and paid my account in full , was told I could not set up another appointment until I put my card on auto pay , I told there employee no I will not do that. Then I was informed then no future appointment's.. I kindly said thank you but no again and I will find someone else. Thanks for the many years of great service and you just lost a customer..

We love Preventative Pest Control. They are very reliable and always come when they say they will so there is never a need to follow up with them. We had a pretty bad ant problem in our front yard and they took out the rock and plastic underneath to get to the nest. They not only put everything back so well that you could not tell it had been removed but they got rid of the ant problem and were so awesome about coming back regularly between visits to ensure the ants had not come back. We would highly recommend them to anyone.
