I realize this is a larger company that treats a lot of lawns per week, however I have been with them for close to five years and have been very satisfied with the service. I referred a co-worker who just recently set up service with Guaranteed and she said they were prompt and she has already seen an improvement with her lawn!!

Do not use this company. We used them for few years and things were ok. This year our lawn had stripes and lots of crabgrass. We called pleaded and called again.I can't tell you how many times we called. They would listen and hang up.We feel they caused the problem but were not willing to fix it. I can't believe their lack of customer service. Don't be taken in. We were. Next year we will do our own. Disgusting!

Our first weed and feed was two months ago, it worked fairly well and after second visit with a mosquito/ant treatment as well I notice our weeds coming back in a high concentration and ant problem has not seemed to curb at all. Rating for a 3 is for still being neutral on our services, however they have on the schedule for a respray at no cost so pending that visit review may be re-adjusted based on impact of treatment.

We have used Guarantee Turf Care for 3 years, and they do a good job mowing and arriving on the scheduled day for mowing. We also use them for fertilizing and feel that they were better last year with controlling weeds, particularly in late spring early summer. They do leave a summary of what services were performed at the door and also email it. This helps let us know when to water.

Paid $300+ for spray services and started a weekly mowing service. On the very first application we had problems. Nothing was working on the weeds. They did come out again but it only turned the edges of the weeds slightly brown. We called in again wanting a refund and they said they would put it towards the mowing (which is another service I had trouble with left big patches of uncut grass). However, now that we are finding a new company they are going back on this and saying we have to pay for the failed services. They never gave me estimates I asked for! TERRIBLE COMPANY!

We have used them for a few years and had minimal complaints. This year has been a different story. They have only been out one, the first week fo May. Previous years they would come out every 4 weeks. They have yet to be back out despite numerous phone calls and emails. When I would talk to someone I was always provided with reassurance that they would be out within a few days. This went on for 3 weeks before I decided to cancel the services. I am unable to rely on them. The disappointing part is every time I spoke with someone including the day I cancelled services no one ever apologized for the terrible service. I would not recommend this company to anyone for that 1 reason alone, poor customer service.

Note that there are a lot of positive reviews all of a sudden. The company recently ran a promotion which gave away prizes if you posted a review. After 2+ years of service (5 applications per year), they lied on several occasions, I had to spray my own lawn, and my lawn now has more crabgrass this year than when they started. I share my specific experience below. The first year I used them, they were an average company with average customer service. They seemed to apply the product just fine, but they needed direction from me regarding the lawn's specific issues (e.g., crabgrass and Creeping Charlie). Ultimately, the lawn looked better at the end of the year, but not great. Last year, the service deteriorated. I didn’t get crabgrass preventer until early June and the herbicide they used during the regular applications was not effective against Creeping Charlie. Despite asking several times for, and them agreeing to, a respray with something effective against Creeping Charlie, they never did it. I finally went out and sprayed for it myself at the end of the year because it had gotten so bad during the year. I paid about $250 for lawn service that year and ultimately had to read up on Creeping Charlie, buy my own product, and spray it myself! I intended to cancel at the end of 2017, but they promised to have my crabgrass preventer applied no later than mid-May and to be aggressive with the Creeping Charlie in the spring and fall of 2018 (the best times to kill it). This year, no one came until nearly July. Thankfully, I aggressively sprayed for the Creeping Charlie in the spring, so it was mostly under control. I called and spoke with Chrissy in early June and she promised to be out within 2 weeks. I asked her when I called to make sure to spray the crabgrass with killer as it had already germinated and to hit the remaining Creeping Charlie. She agreed. When they finally came 3 weeks later (in late June), they put preventer down but no crabgrass killer. They also didn't put anything down for the Creeping Charlie. I also noted that there was no detectable herbicide odor as I typically smell and the application seemed to have no effect on my lawn, so I have a suspicion that they didn't even apply what they said they did. I called immediately after the application and several times afterwards. Chrissy has been promising for nearly 1 month that they would come and spray the crabgrass and remaining Creeping Charlie. They still haven’t come back out. Thankfully, I continued to spray for the Creeping Charlie, so it is nearly gone. However, the crabgrass has taken over my lawn. It's mature now, so I don’t know if the spray would even do any good. I’m may be forced to give up until next year and try again. $600 over 2.5 years was absolutely wasted on this service.

Not a happy customer. Wasted money on negligible results. Will revert back to applying chemicals myself. Never cleaned up after applications. I always had to go clean off driveway, sidewalks, and patios. Never had any idea when they would show up. Frustrated is an understatement!

Received a recommendation to hire this company when we were looking. It's our first full summer in our home and our yard is fairly big. After attempting to do it ourselves we thought this would be the answer to our yard problems. When we signed up they said it would be about a week until someone would be out. 10 days later we called and we're told some one would be out the next day...four days later same thing. When we finally saw the little sign in our yard we had to call them as we have pets and were having people over the next day to make sure it would be safe. They said it would be fine and let us know it could take 5-7 days to work and to call back if there were still weeds...not only did we have weeds our yard was striped and you could tell from afar which places were missed. We called back let them know...and when asked if some one would be out in the next day and if we should wait to mow the lady on the line LAUGHED and said "oh no it won't be this week." Eventually the second application was made and it looked okay...not great. No notification that the next application would be made but it was. Once again the yard looked like nothing had been done AND one of our plants is dead. When I called letting them know that we would like to cancel and asked if we could have a discount since it didn't look like anything (weeds, and tons of crab grass) w I done we were told that we can get a second application after we paid our current bill. I should not have to baby sit someone I have hired for a service after every application and if that is the case it should be better advertised and accepted, since the first time I requested a second application it was as if I was being an inconviece or expecting too much. Extremely dissapointed in this company and their service.

Buyer beware. Long story short, GTC has poor customer service and no communication within their own office. I would seriously consider looking elsewhere for lawn care. After receiving a quote, called GTC customer service to schedule a treatment. Confirmed with the representative that we would be starting the lawn treatment service and that I should see the lawn treated in the next week or two. The following week I received a voice message from GTC asking if I was interested in moving forward with the quote. After which I called and explained that I had already set up the service, and was expecting the treatment to take place any time. The representative told me that there was no record of the call, and that we could initiate the service, but it would mean a 1-2 week lead time on the treatment. After being transferred to a manager I told them that I would be taking my business elsewhere. A couple days later I received a letter in the mail indicating that they had scheduled the first treatment for some time this week. After receiving the letter I called to inform them that I had NOT scheduled this service, and confirmed that it would be cancelled immediately. Two days later I noticed when I got home from work that my lawn had been treated, and a bill for the service was left on my door. After which I called and spoke with a manager to confirm that they would cancel the service and I would not be billed. All in all, a big headache I would recommend avoiding.

There are many reputable lawn care companies out there. Unfortunately, this isn't one of them. Called the office after noticing weeds in my lawn after treatments from GTC. They sent someone out to access my lawn and left a tag on my door to call for the results. First time I called, Christy told someone would email the results to me-it didn't happen. When I called back 3 days later, spoke with Kate, the rudest customer service rep I have ever dealt with. She told me she would relay the message to give me a call to Mark, the person who inspected my lawn-still waiting. When I called back and asked Kate to speak to her boss, she told me she and Mark were co-bosses and refused to let me speak to him. I later discovered the company was owned by Dave Gabbert. When I called back to speak to him, Kate refused to let me speak with him. When I did finally get in touch with Dave, he told me to take the matter up with Kate. Save yourself the trouble and find another company.

This is my first review ever and PLEASE DONT USE THEIR SERVICES. Their mowing work is horrible and most of all they have the worst customer service. They left all the grass clippings all over our landscaping that our brown mulch was covered with grass. When we asked them to clean them up, they sent a mower back with a blower which wasn't any help, in fact now our mulch was on our lawn. When we asked them to compensate our ruined landscaping, they said they would send out an inspector but they never came. I called them countless times during the last two months but they only said they are trying to have someone come out and do an inspection but they never came. I have weeds, crabgrass, and other broadleafs. You wouldn’t know I had a fertilizer and weed service! They aren’t detailed oriented they always come right before it rains so I need a respray which is free but never great. They miss big spots of weeds and don’t do the edges of the yard, like next to the driveway or near the bushes. I don’t know why I keep going back to them. I think I will finally break up with them this year! They do my mom’s yard and it’s even worse than mine. You’d think she was starting a thistle farm!

Our yards had so many weeds that the grass was very sparse. We finally decided to have Guaranteed Turf Care come out. Not only were their prices reasonable, they offered a package where they only charge for coming out 3 times for the season and since we were new to having a lawn company and weren't interested in overdoing it, this appealed to us. After only 2 days there was a remarkable difference. The weeds started to suddenly disappear and the grass started coming in thicker. We're very pleased with the results and would definitely recommend them!

I do not know what has happened at this company but I can no longer recommend them. They simply refuse to show up at our house. We have been informed they now have 150 new customers and since then, we are lucky if they service our lawn every other week. I have been forced to mow my lawn more than they have. Hiring GTC is a waste of time because you will end up doing all your lawn mowing yourself anyway. Six months ago I wrote the review below, and I was sincere. It goes to show how the quality of their service has decreased: "Blake does an excellent job in mowing our lawn. Weed control is O.K. but I need to do my own application of Weed-B-Gone to keep emerging weeds under control in the Spring."

Update: We used this company two years ago without problems. Everything was great and weeds were well controlled. This year was a completely opposite experience. They got rid of the weeds (broadleaf and creeping charlie), but also killed large patches of grass in the process. At first they said it was because the grass was in tree shade (it wasnt) then said "thats where the weeds were, just seed it". We asked for a manager to look at it but they sent our regular tech to evaluate it. Needless to say we cancelled our service and will never use them again.

The first year was fine, but we didn't plan to renew their services the following year. Then in the spring of this year (2019) a sign advertising their services showed up on my lawn as it had the previous year. Then a few weeks later another sign. Then I received a call stating I owed $87. Apparently they send a mailing in January stating their proposed services and if you don't call them to decline, they just go ahead and provide those services. I talked to a customer service person, then asked to talk to a manager about my frustration, they refused. The customer service person wouldn't transfer me to a manager, wouldn't let me sit on hold until a manager was available, nor did he offer to have a manager call me back. I just had to accept the charges (which they offered to cut in half because I was so frustrated) and hang up. What company doesn't let you talk to a manager? I guess a company that just continues to provide services without your consent.

Sadly, I missed these other reviews before signing up with them... I can confirm what others are saying. They screwed up my lawn one week, came out a few days later and made it worse, then took two weeks to come out again, now it's been a week and a half. Also, I paid for the weed spray. They did a small patch that turned brown and skipped the rest of the house. I was told they would come out again. Hasn't happened. Do yourself a favor and read the reviews.

We prepaid for season mid April and as of today May 30, nobody has been out for first or second treatment. This is in spite of 3 phone conversations and 3 emails. Several promises were made that they'd be 'out within the week', but promises weren't kept and they didn't respond to emails/calls. So today I called to request full refund and we'll take our business elsewhere. Hope to see credit wi 3-5 biz days.

We have spent good money all summer long with weeds still everywhere in our yard. I just called to set up an appointment to show them the weeds and discuss options on their "guarantee"; they told me that they are 2 weeks out and will call 2-3 days prior to their visit. It is reminiscent on dealing with the cable company; all about them not about you. I am guessing that we will be using another company next year as the are ineffective and unresponsive. June 19, 2017 update on my previous review from 2016: I just got a visit from Guaranteed Turf Care to take a look at the lawn. This is 9 months after we asked that they come out and look at the large amount of weeds we had from their lack of expertise in lawn care. I guess the nasty lady who took my call just got around to dealing with this! What a lame company!!! Stay away, they are horrible to deal with!

Poor Communication, poor service. Unfortunately, these people promise you a quality service with good communications, but they do not give you either. I repeatedly asked to know when they were coming and what they recommended for my lawn issues. They never would return emails or calls and some times claimed to have come, but with no sign, invoice or results. STAY AWAY

Hired them last year. This year they showed up unauthorized and sprayed my yard. I already hired a new company to do my yard because I wasn’t happy with their work. Then I was charged $110 (25% increase from last year) on my card for services I didn’t authorize. They claim they mailed me something saying I re-new their service unless I call them to cancel. Lawn care mail in January goes directly in the recycle. Do not give them your business and especially don’t give them your card number to pay for service. Unethical business practices. horrible customer service.

Guaranteed Turf Care has been taking care of our yard for several years, including mowing, fertilizing, and fall clean-up. Each week the same person comes to mow the lawn, trim around the trees and edges, and blow off the driveway. (This year it was Blake, who did a great job.) For special services, I communicate via email to the office and get just what I request. If the weather causes delays, I get a notification via email. I have set up automated payments to my credit card, so we always have a great-looking lawn - whether we are home or out of town - without ever having to think about it.

Stay away. We were with GTC for the past 3 years but I finally had enough of their empty promises. I never saw any improvement in my lawn, but I was simply too busy to take the time to cancel service. One day, I was home when they did their service call, so I watched them. The tech (really just a college kid who could care less) did a very sloppy job in the front yard, completely missing large sections. To my surprise, he never even did the back yard. I wonder just how long that was going on? Rip off company. The only thing worse than their field service was their customer service, who clearly couldn't care less about my concerns when I called to voice them. All they wanted was to ensure I paid. Run away as fast as you can.

I selected the five treatment plan along with aeration sand seeding. They only came out 4 times and even that I had to keep bugging them about. By the time they decided to seed my lawn it was already too late into the fall, so I had them cancel it. Aside from the bad service, my lawn actually looks much worse than it did before. The grass that was relatively healthy is now brown and there are large patches where all the grass is gone. Horrible service, will not recommend!!

We started with Guaranteed Turf Care just about when they started in business. Having about an acre though we hate dandelions we love and plant clover in our lawn. Guaranteed is meticulous in avoiding our clover, but great at preventing or killing our crab grass and the occasional dandelion where there is no clover. Guaranteed has been keeping my lawn green by avoiding my clover and fertilizing while I take care of those pesky yellow flowers by extracting them with a dandelion puller. This spring I hired Guaranteed to do a spring clean up and mow. I am very pleased with their service provided at a fair price and yet a distinct improvement over my previous lawn service.

Wow! Should have read these reviews also! I called their EP office yesterday and was drilled with 4-5 screen questions: "who's calling?" "Are you a customer?" "What's the nature of your call?" I was calling to inquire on email that was sent to me that the person I signed up with was "let go". No phone call back. Looks like GTC over promises and UNDER delivers. Not a good recipe for success. I am finding a new lawn care provider today. Fortunately I have not paid a dime to GTC and don't intend to.

I'm at a loss on how to get my issue resolved with GTC...hoping posting publicly will get their attention, but my hopes are not high. On the 14th of June we reported to GTC that fertilizer had been spilled on our lawn in multiple places, causing the grass to die and not come back. This happened once last year and again this spring. They told us they would schedule an appointment for someone to come look at it and that until someone comes out, we should not pay our bill. Between June 14th and July 3rd, we received 3 collections calls asking us to pay our bill. Each time, we asked when our appointment would be scheduled, and each time they told us that they didn't know. Their manager, Kate, had to do it and was out of the office or left early that day. After waiting 1 week for Kate to call me, I took the liberty to call them yesterday. Kate was once again not in the office. They informed me that they had notes to set up an appointment, but had not done so yet. They also informed me that they had stopped applying treatments to our lawn (apparently because they didn't want to damage anything until someone could get out and look at the already damaged areas). Tomorrow is July 13th. It's been 1 month and we're still waiting for an appointment to be set up, or at least for "Kate" to call me - assuming she exists. After 4 years as a customer, we will be cutting our losses and switching services to a reliable company.
