What a terrible experience. I was referred to FJ by another lawn care service who was booked for the Fall and unfortunately did not read reviews before calling them. What a mistake. They showed up over 2 weeks late for Fall cleanup despite multiple calls when the agreed upon time lapsed. Worst of all, they charged me for 40 minutes they weren't there for a total of $383 for a tiny city lot, claiming it took nearly 2.5 hours with 3 guys. I contacted Jim for resolution and as confirmed by many other poor reviews, got nowhere, although after a while he did offer to give me a 2 weeks of snow removal (admission of guilt?). Never wanting to deal with this business again, I filed a dispute with American Express and won after a month-long investigation, so now there is on-record precedence for filing claims against the shenanigans they pull.

Started communication but did not follow up. Disappointed in service, communication was poor and stopped even though I responded to them very quickly and answered their questions. I highly do not recommend. If they were unable to do the job they should have been professionals and said that.

Plowing service incredibly slow, regularly left large areas unplowed/unshoveled or more often they showed up so late that I had already done the majority of the work. I just got a bill with OUTRAGEOUS extra charges- will NOT recommend or use again. EDIT in response - I guess my expectations of ensuring prompt service/consistent service by hiring a company on a contract is wildly unrealistic. One might think that having a contract would ensure service within a reasonable amount of time without requiring multiple calls/texts to check in.... but again, I must just be insane. For the amount of money they charge, babysitting should NOT be needed. I was never rude or mean- basically terrified to complain at all about quality because once you do, these guys can just decide to disappear/ stop coming out all together and then I'd be doubly screwed. I had high hopes for finding a good company that was based close to my home so that plow service would be prompt- my driveway is very steep and the city does not allow parking on-street overnight regardless of the season...this is NOT that company. Waiting 8+ hours with no ETA is not OK. Advice: If you can't provide timely service to all of the clients you've taken on, you should notify them or provide a discount/reimbursement. Also, if you're not going to make it out within the stated contract time (4-8 hrs) or at least the same day, a text or call saying so should be made.

All negative reviews are accurate and justified. Doesn’t deserve even 1 star. Authorized payed for an amount and three months later for an invoice of over $650. Said they did more work than actually received. Then harassed me for payment, over 20 voicemails/texts/emails in one day. Dishonest, disorganized, unreliable. Never use this company.

Recommended to replace our regular for the past three years who gave us short notice that he was quitting the business. Called F.J. Lawncare after looking at their reviews and not finding anyone else that could get to us on short notice. Two days after our contact there were two of their workers on the property as promised. They not only did a terrific job, but explained what they were doing and asked if there might be anything else we might need after assessing our site. The best this property has looked in over 10 years of our 48 years of living here. Matt & Leroy are pros!

They do not come when they say they will. Requested spring clean up in March. They took my money. I never got a call back. I had to call them to ask when they were coming. They have given me two dates and they still haven't come. Liars and thieves. Stay away!

I highly recommend this company for snow removal. I called them when my plow company backed out on me. They came out the same day & cleared my driveway and sidewalk for a very competitive price. Clearly others are holding FJ to an unnecessarily high standard. Delayed billing? - Owner operated companies demands so much from the owner. Allow for a possible delay. Forgotten callbacks? - They likely receive 10-50 calls per day during busy times. Undesirable bid pricing? - Many homeowners do not understand that operational costs can be very high. If you do not like the bid, move on. These are not reasons to provide a review. Much less a negative one. And certainly not for the industry in question. FJ has always followed through for us, and can be relied on when contracted to provide a service. Prior to the contract, they owe you nothing. Thanks FJ! And keep up the good work!

In response to negative review from Elaine Plummer. Our crews had come out on a weekly basis, every Friday to mow, trim, and blow your property. As far as fertilizing and weed control, schedule changes had been made due to rain, but we did perform this service, on top of all promised services on contract. As far as the invoice, please ma'am, it was a minor sales tax error. What Mr. Plummer was upset about was paying all these services in advance with a large invoice balance, that did give you a 5% discount, that you approved, but apparently Mr. Plummer wasn't aware of all the services that you approved to be paid in advance, which included the following: 4 mowings, 4 fertilizings, 2 weed control sprays, 1 core aeration. We have customers prepay seasonal services all the time. Please understand, we can only apply one service at a time, and must make sure conditions are optimal in order to properly apply them. We would love you guys to come back at any time. Thank you for your support over the last year.

This is my second season for lawn care with this company. Last year was a little hairy....but I gave them a second chance and they have bent over backwards to accommodate me. Ron is great and Kelly keeps in touch with me regularly. If I have any problems Jim will do what he can to make things right. I would recommend to anyone in need.

OK...was looking for snow removal for this year....emailed him on his website....no response. I called and left a message....no call back. I called again and Jim answered and I told him what I needed. He said he would write up a quote and send me a contract on Monday (this was Friday). Never got anything from him....called him twice more and left messages....still got no reply. Don't waste your time with this guy/company....he doesn't seem to do what he says.....or he just doesn't need the business:)

Unreliable service. Would not come out to service the yard on the days that they promised. Weed control was done late, so my yard looks horrible with crab grass. Unable to properly generate invoices, resulted in double-paying sales tax. Do not use this service supplier.

I called them from out of town because I needed someone to plow while I was on vacation. The woman on the phone said she would call me back with an estimate and never did. Any business that implies that they will assist you and doesn't should learn the basics of good customer service. I would recommend to move on! 02/20/19 ***So the owner responded saying I lied. Lol, why would I lie? I have nothing to gain from this. The female who answered the phone lied to YOU THE OWNER! She specifically told me she'd have to call me back after the property was looked at. IT NEVER HAPPENED. What a joke, and it is ironic you found my name and contact info AFTER I finally complained!

Called to have services done for my home and whoever answer the phone was very rude and short. He informed me that they were booked; which I understand, so I was trying to figure out how I could get a possible rate or quote for future purposes and he replied he's busy and have to go then hung up in my face before I could say anything. I've been working in customer service over 12 years now and that's definitely not the way to speak to possible customers. If he was so busy at the time all he had to do is ask if I could call back at a better time! Horrible horrible service and I never had any work done by them but with his attitude alone I would recommend going elsewhere!
