They put the wire mess around the outside of the skirting instead of inside as per the contract. This causes issues with weed eating and breaking the mesh. Since they installed the wildlife exclusion they are coming out once a month for service. It`s been 5 months and i have received advance notification of the monthly visit once. Followup on issues is poor. Office staff is not well trained.

My Orkin person is great....had a major ant problem one year and called many different exterminators and no one could get rid of them... my guy "Tom" came back till he was able to pinpoint their entry point and haven't seen any ants since....he really knows his stuff and I have him come every three months and the house is BUG FREE....thanks Orkin & Tom !!

Though I was shocked to find a dead mouse in an empty rental unit, he assured me -- checking any and all entry possibilities along the way -- that it must come in thru an open door. I found that explanation to be a feasible one since the recently moved tenants did have the doors standing open as they moved their belongings to their waiting truck. Orkin does a great job when they show up. Unfortunately it took three tries to get them to our residence. The techs were no shows for the first two appointments with no phone call or reason why. On the day of the third appointment I called the office in the morning to make sure someone would come to the house and the scheduled tech had called in and there would not have a been a replacement had I not called. Very disappointing. A large scale business like Orkin should have scheduling back up plans or at least the courtesy to call customers to notify of cancellations and to reschedule.

He started off by asking about the problem my wife & I had encountered, then offered information to me in regards to what we were dealing with, what these pests (ants) were looking for, & also their habits/rituals/routines. He then proceeded to treat my home (interior, then exterior) & was extremely courteous & professional all the way through. He even brought his own shoe covers! (Most companies that offer in-home services don't seem to do this for some reason!) My home was just treated today so I can't yet say if the service/treatment was effective, but I was left feeling confident about reaching out to Orkin. When I schedule my follow up treatment, I will be requesting Mr. Christopher Marshall again.

I am overly disappointed with the service I received. The two agents that are around SLC didn’t seem very motivated to find the mice or mouse issue I currently still have. They came to my house and started spray stuff without telling me what it was or why there were doing it. I was 6 months pregnant at that time, had a 6 year old in the house and a dog as well. They attempted to spray several times after that, even tho I told them not to. I currently still have the mouse issue and will attempt to take care of it on my own; I payed for a years worth of services and did not get the service I expected.

I will say that I was quite pleased with the entire process while dealing with my cricket issue. The initial interaction with Christine in the main office who patiently explained the process, coupled with Andrew's visit (my Orkin specialist) was professional, accommodating and friendly. Would be even better if he had all the materials necessary (such as liquid foams) to seal holes on clients' behalf. Certain hard to see places obviously would require special optical gadgets to examine. Having those tools handy would make the job much easier and more complete. Informed Orkin that I wasnt going to use the seasonal service as i have a new born and didnt want my house to be sprayed. Orkin came to my house and accepted that I wasn't going through with the service for that reason. He informed me to call back when I was ready for the service. 1 week later I get a bill from Orkin after they sprayed outside. I'm confused, I thought I said I would call when I was ready for the service. They came without my knowledge and provided a service although I said no. I called and was informed I would only have to pay half. Why do I have to pay anything at all? So I cancelled the service. I don't like the lack of communication between orkin and their customer.

Orkin came out and I showed him where we have seen them the most he put copper mesh in the holes and told us that the mouse will try to chew on it and it will cut its mouth and repel it. Had a wasp/hornet problem. The service tech came out the next day. Pricing wasn’t too bad. He was very honest with us. He sprayed and knocked down all of the nests outside and then discovered 2 more in the attic which we devised a plan for. He did his best and that’s all I could ask for. (I believe his name was Trey or Trent) I couldn’t focus because of my fear of these horrible winged flying devils lol. He went above and beyond for us and we are thankful. We opted for the 1 time treatment and then a 30 day follow up. If the pests come back before then, they will come out and treat again. Great company!

Orkin associate showed up at noon for bed bug treatment. He did not seem well informed from the account manager on the layout of the building (4 apartments) and the work that was to be done. We went through the house as he explained all the work that was going to be done. He told me that it was a longer job and that he would be there for about 3-4 hours. At that point I left to run an errand. When I got back about 1.5 hours later he was gone. Since then I have recieved no notice as to the status of the treatment or the follow up appointment. Seems odd that I spent $2000.00 on bed bug treatment and the associate was here for less then 2 hours. I reached out to the call center and they told me they were very busy and would call me back. That was 5 hours ago now and I've not heard back. For such an expensive service I would say that Orkin is not performing it due diligence in communication with the customer and overall quality of work.

I don't really write reviews, but I should at least voice my experience with orkin pest control as a new customer this year (2019). I actually just got off the phone with the Wilmington office to cancel my service. The reason being is because, when I first had to service the first month was awesome. When the second month came around, the second technician didn't really spray much so I called 2 weeks afterwards because I was indeed still getting bit by mosquitoes. The lady at the office told me they will be out the following day of my call; weather permitting. On the forecast it showed that it was raining on the following day but it was actually bright and sunny come said day. No one came. All right cool, that's fine. The following day after the next, nothing. So I called again, but nobody came out until the next following scheduled service. Another issue I had with orkin was recent. I called yesterday to cancel my service because we no longer want the service and it's already been 2 weeks ahead of the normal schedule service for this month. They came today for the service. What a coincidence. So again as a normal human being, I called and asked why, they said "well it was the last service for the year ". I honestly hope they don't respond to this review to try to do damage control on a legitimate review from my experience. There's absolutely no exaggeration from my end and The viewers can view it how it is. That is all.

Very disappointed. Had originally contracted with Kimak of Blue Springs for Sentricon Termite monitoring service. Orkin has taken over those accounts. Orkin technicians are not well prepared to service this account. They do not have a diagram showing the locations of the 36 monitoring stations. Technician did not have a station location detector (like a metal detector). Technician did not have best tool for removing/replacing station covers. One station was not checked, needs to be located and checked.

Since we moved to Gaffney, SC our home had used Orkin and they have been a disappointment. They set appointments but always something happens. For a while it was arriving before the appointment window; which would throw off my whole schedule for the day. Now, they make appointments and never show up. They claim they do and “treat outside because no one was home.” Today they were supposed to service the house. The seasons are changing and due to my compromised immune disorder I need to control the pests coming in. They said between 11 and 4 pm that is all day. I had to cancel a paid booking. I went to bed early and was up by 5 am. I was NOT letting another missed “appointment” happen. Even though I know the last ones we were here for! Low and behold. All day. Never showed. Never called. And yet, they still expect to be billed. When we do get service techs they have old equipment that LEAKS into my carpet. The last time the INSIDE of my house was serviced there was stuff on my walls where the guy was in such a rush to get it done. He moves so fast he strikes terror in the hearts of my cats. Who are all rescues. Otherwise they are perfectly good animals. Please repair your leaking gear, and have a training session on how to care for homes with pets and immune compromised clients. Orkin, I expect YOU to contact the account or R. Randall and FIX this. I have had enough!!! Also, when asking for feedback on service, make sure the links you provide work. Otherwise you look utter incompetent as a company.

I'd be happy to give 5 stars if our problem with fleas we had inherited from former tenants is actually solved but in not so sure since the tech came to do a follow up which took 2 minutes at the most shining a flashlight in a few places. That to me is not a follow up on a severe issue. My cat and dog were treated and wearing flea collars but the dog has been licking like crazy her stomach is raw and I have a cone on her. The apartment next door had the fleas.. orkin sprayed here but the landlord chose to not spray the originally heavily infested side. ... that I'm concerned with and expected an actual follow up. As I said happy to give 5 stars and will change my review if they are really gone. But if they are not, do we receive another visit?

He reviewed the options with us (including no further treatment) and did not push for a specific one. The service I get from my usual exterminator Tim is always excellent. However, I am no longer notified by Orkin ahead of time to tell me when my appointment is. Apparently Orkin no longer sends out appointment postcards because of some new system buy fortunately my usual guy always calls me first to give me a heads up when he will be in my area but I always have to make special arrangements to be home. Orkin seems to assume nobody else works for a living and is always waiting by the door for their exterminator. I also paid for termite service over a year ago and there have not been any follow up service visits at the 6 or 12 month periods as stated in the agreement. My bait stations have not been refilled since. Orkin customer service has definitely taken a turn for the worse lately.

Orkin came out today to get rid of yellow jackets which had set up a hive in the exterior trim of my house. The tech was very professional, nice, informative, and arrived early. Thankfully I decided to go with a whole home protection service with Orkin. I say thankfully because, while the tech was spraying the interior of the house, he found that the yellow jackets had actually burrowed through the exterior wall and were making their way into the interior of the house in the basement to escape the exterior treatment. Had the Orkin tech not found this, I would have had a bigger problem with god knows how many yellow jackets inside the house. Luckily he found the hole, treated it, killed a ton of yellow jackets, and I was able to seal the hole to prevent any more from attempting to enter. Orkin was a total life saver today. Many many thanks to the technician who performed the service today.

After a short period of time, Doug no later came and we started seeing other techs for our service, often different each time. I have sticky traps in my home that have not been changed since 2016 (your techs date the traps) - I am told that if there are not bugs in them , they do not need to be changed. However they are so old I am sure the adhesive or “stickiness” is no longer effective. I also purchased a very expensive dehumidifier unit through orkin that is supposed to be serviced yearly as I pay an additional $150 annually for that service. Today was the first time that the unit has been serviced, which I had to request myself - and the tech did not have the proper filter available to complete the service. Could also add detail about the struggle to properly schedule my appointment at the correct time and day - also your tech arriving 6+ hours early for an interior service when I was not home - but I’m sure the service fee will promptly be charged to my credit card. I am considering finding a new pest control company as the attention to detail has severely decreased.

He also explained how to identify which pest was working on mouse and how I could identify other pests that are similar looking but act differently. We have been woth Orkin for 10 months We have these small flying bugs in our home and wasps Orkin comes out BUT never sprays the wasps or even tells us they see them, if they are spraying the exterior why haven't they seen the 5 different located nests near the entrance doorways. I find them after Orkin has left and have to spray them and knock them down. We also have these flying little bugs inside our home.

Had a football sized wasp nest growing in the wall that was removed for a fairly good price. However, I asked them to remove some larvae filled comb that was left and I found it still there after I came back later to clean up. I would've had them come back out to do it but I just removed it myself since it was all dead at least. Otherwise, I'd have rotting hive in the wall for god knows how long. Good job with killing them all, but poor job cleaning it out.

Review of my Orkin experience on 7/10/19: First, my Orkin Representative is (as always) very professional and very efficient. In saying that, I do have an issue with two (2) things. #1 it seems that Orkin has gone to an automated appointment system. I have no issue with this other than to say I was very confused in getting all the Orkin text messages. In the past, I had always spoke with someone and we “together” chose an appointment time the suited both Orkin and myself. Now, it looks like Orkin is dictating to me on when my appointment will be (and it’s done by text message). #2 my Bimonthly service charge increased by over $4.00 per visit. ????? Why wasn’t I notified of this increase “prior” to my appointment day? I was told of the increase AFTER my Orkin Representative had finished servicing my home. Thank you, Ron Graham
