He didn't even look in the back of the house to cover holes. Put may 5 sticky traps around the house. Don't waste your time.

We've been with HomeTeam since around 2004 (before they were called HomeTeam). We originally called them in for an ant problem in our (at the time) brand new house. Since that first visit 13 years ago, we haven't seen a single ant in the house (knock on wood). We've had them come out from time to time in addition to the quarterly treatments to deal with bees (outside) and spider crickets (in the basement). Each time, same deal: problem solved. And they are great on the phone and in person. Altogether, a great service provider, from whom we look forward to getting many more years of service.

My interview with Randy and Gary was the worst interview experience that I've ever had. Randy asked me more questions about my personal life than about my resume. He asked me my age and if I had a good relationship with my brother. He would ask questions, but interrupt me repeatedly. Randy seems like a creep. Gary was a little more likeable, but he had a disinterested demeanor at times and he asked personal questions about my relationships with my family too. I had a bad feeling about these guys, so I rejected the job opportunity.

Great folks. Very courteous. Will bend over backwards to help out. I had some wasp nests in each of our 3 dormers on our roof. I called HomeTeam and they were out to the house within a couple days. They said they normally don't get on roofs over 12 feet high but that they would tackle the job after retrieving a taller latter. They came back the next day with a taller latter, got up on the roof and took care of the problem. Keep up the great customer service guys!

Horrible accounting services! They misapply payments and then two years later try to explain their inept abilities to make it your fault there's an outstanding balance. Their pest control system is adequate, but they cannot keep financial records! We paid every bill we received and now we were told we had an outstanding balance in 2016 because of their error. We cancelled our Pest service and retained the termite service. If I decide I need or want a quarterly pest service I will find a company that has a capable accounting team.

If I could give this zero stars, I would. After two years of hassling with this company and their billing department, I am going elsewhere. I paid in advance for a years worth of treatment and yet, every time someone came out to treat my house, I was sent a bill. They even sent my bill to a collection agency for their error. Really?! Life is complicated enough & to have to double check my records each time I got a bill to see if I really owed them or not was a huge hassle! The front desk is just plain incompetent at figuring things out. I'm sure there a pest control business out there who will make it easy to do business with them. I would NOT choose HomeTeam pest defense to be that business!

Some of their techs are awesome and do a great job, and there are others that they sit in their truck for 40minutes, and when they finally get out of the truck, they squirt twice by the front door and call it a day. And if you have the nerve to call them to deal with an infestation, the tech is annoyed that he is has to come in, and than he tells you that there is nothing that can or will be done. I started using Home Team at my home, based on the awesome service that my office received from the "C man" ( I do not remember his actual name) . That, plus the fact that I RARELY see a bug anywhere near my house are why I would absolutely endorse their services. On top of that, we live in a home that was built with "pest tubes" and this is the local office for that service. If you have pest tubes, you'd really be making a mistake if you didn't take advantage of them; the Home Team service cost no more than other pest control, yet they take care of whatever magic is necessary to service the pest tubes, too. Good lord, but I do hate bugs - so these folks are da bomb!!

very good custumer service and prices are reasonable. i have a bug problem at my home. my dog died from a spider bite . i tried many bug killer sprays from home depot and waisted money but i still notice many bugs. not only spiders ever since they came to treat my house i feel much secure and safe. they can come anytime between treatments at no cost. will def recomended

These folks are awesome!! They guarantee their work and product and are happy to come "top you up" if you start to see "critters". The technicians are ALWAYS super polite and respectful (I had spine surgery recently and the two gentlemen that came to treat my home most recently were extremely understanding that I am not able to go outside right now without limping along with a cane, and took care of opening my gate to our back yard). They are always prompt to respond and accommodating of my protective rescue doggo who seems to extremely dislike strange men in our house (maybe because of something that happened to him before he came to us) barks at them nearly the entire time they are performing the treatments. We have the quarterly service. We receive a phone call to set up each appointment. They keep us informed if there is any change to their schedule. The technicians are clean and dressed appropriately in uniforms. They ask us if there are any specific issues they should take a look at or treat. When we called and made an appointment for them to come out, they were a no show. I had a roof rat that got in to my attic, and called Home Team. The tech that came out (Wesley) was fantastic. I’d give him 5 stars separately if I could. I signed up for a year of service , and paid in full in advance for all 4 services. Wesley would give me a call or text before and after coming out, as well as afterwards to let me know what he found if I couldn’t home when he stopped by. Caught the rat after the first visit, and installed traps and barricades around the property to prevent any further infestation. After the year was up however, the invoices kept coming. I never received a phone call or text to let me know about service visits or results. To my knowledge, the tech never stopped by and I got a bill for services that were never provided. They refused to cancel the charges when I called them to make them aware. Too bad really, the whole neighborhood has the roof rat issue now, and they’ve asked me who I used and if I recommend them. I don’t feel comfortable recommending Home Team any more. I gave them the extra star for Wesley alone. If it weren’t for him they would have gotten one star for unethical business practices. Fortunately my neighbors cat and a few 3/4 full 5 gallon buckets of water in the yard seem to be doing a good job of keeping the problem at bay for me. They’ve caught and killed more than the professional traps did.

We've been customers of their quarterly plan for more than a decade. The last number of technicians have been very poor. We live in a rural area and a month or so ago started hearing noises in our attic. Home Team will not treat attics with no flooring so we found another company. We found mice in our attic. We were curious as to how we had not had this problem sooner (we'd been in the house since 2004 - custom built home -new). When myself and the tech from the new company examined bait traps (that Home Team had placed and was being paid to maintain) we found almost all were totally empty. These are the pathway traps that hold a small brick of poison - they don't get used up in a 3 month period. When I called home team to cancel their upcoming visit and cancel all further service they asked me why and I calmly explained. I demanded at minimum our previous quarter service fee of $106 be refunded. The phone rep apologized and took my contact information for a manager to call me back the following week (I had called on Friday at 4:30 to cancel an appointment scheduled for the following Wednesday). No call. No refund. If you live in the Frederick area I strongly suggest calling the next company on your list, or if you're an existing customer thoroughly check their work before signing off. Customers for over a decade and totally screwed. O, the mice that are in my attic will eventually cost around $1000 to eradicate due to the precautionary steps that Home Team ceased fulfilling but cashed our checks. In plain English - Home Team sucks.

We were flipping out because we saw signs of bugs, so we did some not helpful internet research and convinced ourselves that we had termites . We called home team for an inspection and the guy that came out was really nice and knowledgable, looked at our signs of termites and said that we didn't. He told us that the research we had done related more to a termite species that doesn't even live in our area. It was what we wanted to hear but we wanted to be sure so we called terminix because they also offer free inspections. Terminix sent someone out who told us with dollar signs in his eyes that we had termites and laid on the threat of having to disclose the infestation when we sell our house. He seemed off so we cut a panel out of the drywall and there was absolutely no sign of termites. Thanks home team, avoid terminix like the plague!

Previously, if they had planned on coming to my home for a service they would call and confirm with me the time and date . If I was not going to be home, we would set up an alternate date for the service. In this latest case, I was not aware of the service call and the technician came to my home and did only a partial service since he did not have access to my backyard or the interior of my home. Imagine my surprise when I received a debit charge in my checking account for a full service, even though one had not been completed. He did not leave an invoice in my door as previous technicians had. Spoke to the manager in charge and requested a partial refund since the service had not been completed and he refused. Time to take my business elsewhere since these guys seem a bit too greedy.

This is a great peat control company. I’ve had two different homes that had the pest Defense system integrated into the home while being built. This is really nice. All they need to do is come object it into your home every couple months and we never have had any problems. They were alright. Kept getting ants in the bathroom after they sprayed. The specialist put down some traps that didn’t really work. After a couple weeks they just went away. It just became a routine - eventually I just used some sugar water and boric acid mixture after the pest control specialist came since they weren’t able to remedy it. That isn’t too big of an issue, just a minor inconvenience. The biggest problem I have is I just relocated to a house that is roughly the same size as the last and after sitting on hold for 10 minutes Rudy very hurriedly told me the price to do the new house went up and that there would be a start up fee of $100+ dollars. When I asked what it was for simply said it was standard at a new house, even if you are a current customer. I said that turned me off from going with them again and that I would use that as an opportunity to check current market prices. He said “ok good luck, call us if you change your mind” before I could even finish talking and then he hung up before I could respond. Maybe Rudy is the owner and isn’t hurting for clients... TLDR: customer service lacking and will charge you ridiculous additional fees when moving even if you are a current customer.

We had a massive scorpion problem at our house and tried and tried and once our little ones came along it became more of a hunt and constant worry every night to make sure none of us got stung. He is my regular technician and one could not ask for anyone better. He is willing to "go the extra mile" to satisfy customer and improve any worrisome situation. I had limited interaction with Brian who also seems quite nice.

This review pertains solely to Debbie and service tech Joseph. Joseph did a phenomenal job. He stood out from other techs because he was very thorough. He addressed all my concerns both inside and outside my home. This is one of the few times I felt the service performed was worth the value of the amount paid. It's unfortunate not all techs provide the same level of service. Also, I'd like to highlight Debbie. Every time I speak with her, she's very friendly. This past encounter was particularly exceptional. In trying to determine what was making my cat ill, she reviewed my account to determine if any new chemicals were used. She gave me the product details and emailed me a fact sheet. She also reassured me all chemicals are pet-friendly when dry. On another note, I'm disappointed a service survey is not emailed after each site visit. I reviewed both the electronic invoice and receipt and couldn't find mention of a survey. I know there's a survey on the back of the paper invoice, but there's no URL and requires a mailed response. It's almost like this company doesn't want feedback to monitor and ensure excellent performance. This could explain why there are so many under-performing techs.
