This company installed a new floor in the basement of our house just prior to us buying it. The installation seems to be defective - the floor has bubbled up and has since buckled. The bad parts will need to be removed and replaced. After contacting the company, they were not helpful.

I have been using American Pest for years and even transferred their service from our house in Fairfax to Vienna when we moved. Their customer service is off the carts and they are ever so attentive. When we had to have a termite inspection on our house that we were selling they actually did both houses - the one we sold and the one we purchased - and there was no extra charge. They go that extra mile and we recommend them highly!

We have used American Pest for many years now. I love that they use the minimum amount of chemicals. Their outside treatments general keep all pests out of the inside of our house. When we need an inside treatment it is carefully done with pet and child friendly products and application. I also love that we have the same technicians come out each month. This pest company showed up to our house at 7:40am, 1hr and 20 minutes before business hours with no warning whatsoever, disturbing our entire household. We had scheduled a service the day prior, at a specific time. It was raining, and the agent specified I would be contacted by the office for rescheduling. I never heard a peep, and instead had my house awakened by multiple doorbell rings at 7am. This is in addition to a lack of email responsiveness.

American Pest has some of the nicest employees I've ever interacted with. The dispatcher, or whoever answers the phone when you call to set up an appointment, was very attentive and stayed on the line for quite a while to get a full idea of the problem I was asking. The technician they sent was very knowledgeable about the pests I was having problems with, in this case mice, and never tried to up-sell me on anything, even instructing me how to do everything myself if I didn't want to go with their services. They sealed all of the entry points, placed bait and traps, and were all in all the most pleasant and professional company of the three I contacted for my issue. Would recommend to anybody looking for pest control services.

First and foremost DO NOT USE THESE GUYS for bed bugs!! I had these guys come out for a bed bug treatment and they failed miserably. Total I was charged was 1800 for a 3 bedroom home and they didn't even use heat (which I found out later was more effective) just chemical. Had a more reputable company come by and they eliminated every last one of them on the first attempt. Dont use these guys unless you want to get ripped off and scammed.

Services was great. Ryan came out to inspect due to us finding a house dead in our sink one morning. He came and looked behind appliances and was transparent about where they could be coming from. He set traps and also left us several others. What was nice was that he told me that based on the evidence that it was a minor issue and it looked to be just one. American Pest has been terrific, and that's saying a lot coming from someone who freaks at the sight of even 1 bug in my house. They have come out MULTIPLE times in between scheduled sprayings to deal with various bugs that I've had issues with, and they are always able to solve the problem. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because they have a lot more technicians in MD than VA (where I live), so sometimes it can take days before American Pest is able to send a tech out to our house. I think they are working on getting someone dedicated to NOVA though. But every tech who has come out to the house has been super friendly and taken care of my bug problems!

American Pest bought out Greenstar, the pest company that I had signed up with. Greenstar was a good company. I was satisfied with their service and their low prices. American Pest continues to be a very good service provider. This past month I noticed that a termite monitoring station placed by Greenstar showed signs of having been eaten by insects. I called American Pest and they sent out a technician to inspect the stations. The technician explained that what I had seen was deterioration of the wood in the station. She replaced all of the stations around the house with newer more substantial ones. The technician also inspected the basement to confirm that there were no signs of termites. There were no extra charges for any of this; all included with the quarterly treatment price. So far I am impressed with American.

Please read the negative reviews and BBB. This company outright broke Virginia law when doing a termite inspection on my home- saw damage “on joist” (which apparently meant EVERY joist!) and did NOT recommend treatment though they didn’t see any- this is clearly illegal under Virginia law and cost ME- not sellers- thousands of dollars in rebuilding my foundation and floors. They have refused to do anything at all-even cover a treatment-to remedy the thousands of dollars of damage I’m still trying to pay off, and, as they ignored BBB I’ll have to go to court over this. By the way- still have obvious clear termites! Had two second opinions and they were appalled that the inspector had not noticed all the feeding tubes and holes. Happy to pass along pictures of the floorboards I stepped through three months later, and their report where it shows they broke the law, or voicemail where they say they’re not going to do anything, to anyone considering them. For something as major as pest control and chemicals and your HOME- please go with a reputable company with a conscious.

I have no idea how you guys haven’t gotten any lawsuits or put out of business. Who in the world would think it’s a smart idea to throw bait blocks (outside of a secured rodent station or RTU) inside of a residents home? You guys leave sticky traps upside down on their floors and seal up cracks (between carpet and baseboards) with construction foam. Hire real professionals. You clearly have untrained techs who will eventually create a pickle for you. Tighten up. If you want the photos one has been added to your company’s google photo album. Bait blocks left like this pose a serious risk to children and pets, not to mention will not go well with VDACS.

American Pest Control has been wonderful, since using them, we have not had any problems or issues in the last few years. Hoping to have the same success after the merger with American Pest. The great thing is now they cover all levels of the home. In the past, they would only service the outside and basement level primarily. They would not spray upstairs. I also like that the new spray used does not leave residue on my refinished hardwood floors. But now they service the entire house and I am hoping that will keep the household insects, especially the spiders in check this summer season. The technicians are always friendly and helpful. My primary request would be for them to use coverings for their shoes when entering our home.

When we had ants in our home earlier this year, the technician treated for them and we did not see them anymore. I cannot recommend this company for Mice removal, and doubt I would hire them for anything in the future. I started finding mice droppings in my house around the end of April 2017 and after placing my own traps and only catching 1 mouse over the span of 3 weeks I figured I should take the new step and hire some "professional exterminators" and this company IS NOT that. If you call simply laying down traps and hoping you catch something a professional, then I should open my own pest control business because I caught more than they did! The initial service fee which covered 2 months of service was $189 and after that it would have been $99 every other month until I cancelled the service. This seemed like a good deal seeing how other big name companies like Terminix wanted around $1000 to rid me of my mouse problem but folks you get what you pay for. Over the span of 2 months I had 5 appointments for my mouse problem (about every other week or so) and out of the 5 appointments it was 4 different "Technicians" who came out and I had to explain the problem to each one and point out the locations of where the previous technician laid the traps which was a pain. Why wouldn't you send the same person instead of someone new showing up without the slightest clue of whats going on? What a joke. Literally all they did was put snap and glue traps in locations and told me "Oh don't worry we will get them" and after 2 months THEY DID NOT CATCH EVEN 1 MOUSE! Heck even I caught a mouse before hiring them! Not to mention every technician who came out had a different idea on how to catch the mice and even criticized the previous technician which made the company seem like a joke (which it is). About 6 weeks into the service contract and 3 days after the 4th appointment a mouse ran across my living room right in front of me and ran right past 3 of their snap traps, this was the last straw for this company! I called the 800 number on their website and complained and said I wanted to cancel my service. The lady told me "Well sir its going to take more than 3 days to catch a mouse" with a snotty attitude, obviously this made me furious since it had been well over a month since I hired this company and she failed to realized this before opening her ignorant mouth. She explained to me the previous people who serviced my house were simply Technicians and she offered to send the "Supervisor" with "over 30 years of experience" to my house to fix my problem. A few days later the supervisor arrived and did the same exact thing the technicians did! Simply laid even more snap traps near the old traps and said "Well sometimes it takes awhile to catch the mice", what a freaking joke! A few more days passed with no dead mice and my $99 service extension charge was quickly approaching so I called the same 800 number and said once again I wanted to cancel my service to the lady on the phone. She quickly handed the phone to the same snotty woman as before and once again she offered to "send the supervisor with over 30 years of experience to my house to fix my problem". I said he already came and he was just as unreliable and uneducated as the technicians were, so she finally cancelled my account with no further fuss. Her attitude came across like I was the one in the wrong for cancelling like I made a deal with the devil or Mafia. Everything about this company including personnel and work methods is low quality and completely unreliable. Truly I would like a complete refund since they did not catch a single mouse! I literally paid $189 for a few mouse traps over the last 2 months. Save your time and money and go on Amazon and buy your own mouse traps instead of dealing with these people! And guess what? We decided to foster a cat from the human society and the cat caught a mouse the first day! Can you believe that? I should have thought about doing this day one, it would have saved me $189 and all the headaches from dealing with these morons!

In my opinion, American Pest is the best pest management company available in the Baltimore/Washington Metro area. I use the Fulton, MD location. Their technicians are friendly, prompt & knowledgeable. The American Pest management plan for my residence has been extremely effective in treating carpenter ants & bees as well as other typical pests such as sugar ants. I've used Triple S for residential pest control services on and off for 4 years. They are very prompt and efficient. We've never had a single ant in the house until 9 months after I stopped the contract - which prompted me to start them back up again. I've had Terminex and the other large vendors and simply do not like them for many reasons. The tech that comes out from Triple S is the same one each time, knows how I want the house sprayed and not sprayed (we had a family of bunnies living under the deck) and I can count on them doing the right job.

My review is of the bed bug removal offerings. I did not elect to use this company because they are essentially charging $350 to upwards of thousands of dollars simply for spraying the liquid chemicals. ALL room preparation, moving of furniture, vacuuming, bagging and washing of clothes, linens, drapes, etc. is done by the customer. Their policy states that they cannot complete the pest removal without this prep work. In my opinion, you should be getting a lot more service than simply applying the liquid chemicals for this price. I can order the same, or similar, chemicals online for a fraction of the cost since I'm doing all the rest of the work myself anyway!

I was a customer of Ward Pest and Innovative Pest Solutions until American Pest acquired them earlier this year. Perhaps it's growing pains, but the last service was over a week late and ineffective -- for some reason they changed up pesticides with no explanation. We used to schedule as neighbors since it seems to make sense to have adjoining properties serviced at the same time, and that's no longer possible. Today my neighbor had one tech and we're scheduled to have another this afternoon.

I use Triple S, Triple S Management, because right after we moved in, we had, the previous owners hadn’t taken care of a termite issue, so we used Triple S. I got that name from my sister and I’ve been happy with them. I have a service contract with them too.

A knowledgeable professional (James?) came for our first visit. He was very understanding about my desire to use the minimal amount of chemicals possible. He efficiently analyzed my house and yard and performed all tasks necessary. It turned out there was a yellow jacket infestation that I didn't know about which he treated. I had a terrible experience. The initial person who showed up to place the black boxes for mice did not explain to me that those black boxes need to be inspected quarterly for the activities. He told me to call for inspection simply if I see any mice running. He was rude and very uninformative.I did not see the mice running but I just found out after one year of their service I have still have the same problem since there were bates missing in the box and droppings that I could not see. I am so upset about this.

Worst Service Ever!!!! Do not hire these folks. They are a bait and switch when it comes to charges. They charge you an initial fee of $249 then they say you need a monthly service to completely deal with the pest issue. What they don't tell you is that they charge you another $249 to start the monthly fee. They also don't complete the work. I had to get rid of the pest ourselves because they were not able to do it!!!!! DO NOT HIRE THEM. This is not someone who is just complaining, they take your money and run.

Last Saturday we had a morning appointment and no one showed up. After waiting for over 2 hours we called and no one seemed to know what happened. We scheduled another appointment for this past Saturday and once again no one showed. We called and no one knew what happened or even apologized. They said they’d look into it but never called back. It’s both frustrating and disappointing as we wasted over 4 hours waiting and now it’s been 2 weeks and our issue is still not resolved. Don’t waste your time. Find a more reliable pest control company.

Have been using the general pest control service for almost 2 years and am overall we’re pleased with it. This year I decided to try out the mosquito and tick service because our area has a lot of deer. The rain could be to blame but I’m still not convinced that the mosquitoe service works too well. Also, the cost of the mosquito and tick service could be lower particularly for customers that also have the regular pest control service.
