JayMcNamara#93 was personable and full of knowledge when setting bait for my residential mice problem. When he returned after two weeks for a checkup, there was noticeable activity at the bait stations outside, meaning he got them before they’d enter the house. Definitely recommend working with Jay!

Greg (#89) has handled our account for over a year, is always polite, checks in before and after his treatment and makes sure there are no areas of concern regarding his work. Takes time also to make sure we have prepared the property and house before he starts and always let's know to protect our "Grand" dogs for the proper amount of time after his applications of the products. UPDATE: Big Blue Bug called and immediately rectified the situation. The VP himself spoke to my mother and took care of everything. She and I are now very happy with the follow up and customer service that was provided. It is great to see the VP making personal phone calls to make things right. THANK YOU! EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED - I am writing this review for my parents. They recently (within the past 45 days), has their home treated for carpenter bees. They got 3 quotes from multiple companies. Big Blue Bug was the most expensive quote their received, but decided to go with them because of its trusted name and reputation. After the treatment to kill the bees, within 40 days, they have returned with vengeance. My mother promptly called Big Blue Bug to see what they could do, and was told that she would be charged again for another service, full price. Before treatment, we had extensively researched carpenter bees, and we were aware that they aren’t the easiest of pests to get rid of. That being said, the technician assured us that this treatment would take care of it. We are EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with the customer service and follow up. My parents went with the MOST EXPENSIVE quote from Big Blue Bug solutions because they trusted the company, they are now left with the same issue. The company refused to discount a second treatment, which is just terrible customer service. They only guarantied their service for 30 days. Other companies guarantee their services MUCH longer, and will come back and do a second treatment if needed. We know this now, after contracting with a different pest control company that has been fantastic! I will NEVER RECOMMEND or use this company again. Very disappointing.

Josh Brown #86 came over to inspect my home as we had a few mice droppings. He was extremely knowledgeable and spent the time to educate me. At the end of the inspection, he said the issue was being handled by the few bait traps I set and saw no reason to spend further. He is right in that I haven't seen or heard any signs for a week. What he did was gain my trust and loyalty by being honest and not up selling. GO WITH THESE PEOPLE. They have the great reputation and are honest people. That means so much in today's world. Arrived at the house within the window of time that we were promised.he explained to use due to the heavy rainfall that day he could not spray outside the home, but did inform us that if there is a problem after this treatment to all the office and he would return to treat the home again. This is a review of our inspector, Liz. She was very thorough in finding how mice were able to enter the house. She explained that just killing the mice in the house would be a temporary solution and that we had to seal every entrance. I was amazed at what the mice could climb and what tiny holes they could enter. She photographed and marked up the photos of every entrance. A very thorough inspection.

It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for and Big Blue Bug has excellent friendly service. I highly recommend. They are similarly priced as the rest of them, but with Big Blue Bug you get more comprehensive coverage with the homeowners policy. You can call anytime for anything. You can't beat their response time. They give a 2 hour window and they call when they are on their way.

I called a week in advance to schedule an assessment. I made an appointment for 12 noon today. At 12:15pm, no one had arrived & I had received no phone calls or communication from them. I called the customer support number & the person I spoke with then told me there was a 2 hour window. At no point during the initial phone call where I scheduled my appointment did anyone mention a time window. I would not have made an appointment at all had someone told me there was a “window”. I will gladly take my business to a company that is upfront, transparent & respectful of their prospective customers time.

I have had three major infestations of flying squirrels in my attic. Year after year they have returned, and chewed through wiring. It's an invasive processs, and wiring is expensive to repair. After the first infestation, I hired a local Narragansett firm who put out poison. The flying squirrels died in the walls of the house, smelled horrible, and launched many thousands of horseflies into the house (in the middle of winter.) It was a nightmare. This time I hired the BBB. They have been fantastic.

I do not think my review will make a huge difference seeing as how they have so many positives ones, so I can only speak from my experience. I called with a yellow jacket problem, they said no problem, we will send someone out in a day or two. Here I am thinking they were going to actually EXTERMINATE the bees. No, they basically sent me a sales rep. He talked more about the cost of the extermination. He gave me a quote for around $230 (mind you he couldn't even see the nest) wrote me a slip, and told me to call the office again to have the exterminator come out..... (!?) As a new home owner I'm thinking "maybe this is how all exterminators do it?" Oh no. I called 4 other local ones who quoted me around the same price ON THE PHONE, and said they could get rid of the bees the next day. If The Big Blue Bug didn't put so much emphasis on money, they would have gotten mine. I would have paid anything to get rid of those bees that day. Fortunately for a small business owner, he got my money instead.

We recently hired Big Blue Bug to treat our house for a bed bug problem. They met with my wife and took a deposit for the entire amount of the job ($1900) and scheduled the work, which was two treatments to be done two weeks apart. We were instructed to take apart all the beds, remove drawers from dressers, take off wall covers for plugs and switches, and remove, wash and dry all our clothes for a family of five. This was quite a bit of work for all of us, which includes obviously putting everything back together after. The day they came for the first treatment, two techs came with a pump sprayer and worked inside the house for less than one hour. They came back two weeks later and did the same. I reached out to the management to see if they could explain how basically 4 man hours and a gallon or two of chemical could possibly justify $1900 in costs. They basically explained that most houses weren't prepped properly or they possibly have to come back for more than two treatments. This explanation left me feeling completely taken advantage of and like we had to cover the costs for other jobs that had been more of a worst case scenario. Management never offered to come down on their price based on the conditions we had at our house, which I am sure were optimal for their techs to do their job, based on the little time they spent there. I am a business owner that works in new construction and renovations throughout Rhode Island and I will be sure to go out of my way to let as many people know not to hire this company. Any company that asks for entire payment up front is covering up for the fact that they know they would never be able to send out this kind of bill after the customer witnessed the actual amount of work that was done.

The Big Blue Bug is the place to go to resolve you rodents, insect and any other crawling invading your home or business.

THE NEIGHBOR TOLD MY FIANCE AND I "HE WANTS THE ANIMALS RELEASED IF THEY ARE NOT RATS" SO WHY HAVEN'T THEY RELEASED THESE ANIMALS? I had a dead animal under my deck for (probably) a few days, and the smell became unbearable after a 90+ degree day. I called Big Blue Bug Solutions, and the customer service was wonderful. They said someone would be out the same day. Ryan came to the house that afternoon and put every effort into removing the dead animal (it was complicated by the thing being WAY under the deck, beyond reach by crawling under). He tried everything, and finally got it. Thank you for your perseverance and for getting rid of the horrible smell! I would use this company again.

I hired the Big Blue Bug Solutions for regular pest control maintenance at a rental property. They told me they would call me one hour before they showed up so I could meet them there to let them in. They never called and still billed me for the service they didn't perform. I called and they admitted they made a mistake and agreed to a refund but told me they are refusing to service the my property based on a policy they have in place that says that anytime they have to provide a refund they cut ties with that customer even in a case like this where they made a mistake and admitted it. I asked Tony the vice president to explain how this makes sense and he told me it actually works out for them to sustain this policy. I own several businesses and I can tell you that this is clearly not taking responsibility for their actions or lack of actions. So basically they get salty when they know they are wrong and tell you to screw when they make a mistake. There are plenty of other pest control companies out there and if you want customer service then the Big Blue Bug isn't where you'd want to give your business to.

Brett #88 was my tech. He listened to all my concerns and dealt with them in a very professional manner. I especially liked the fact that he put booties on before he came into my house. He did leave baited glue traps throughout the house as I suggested. Several of the glue traps were accessible to my dog which I quickly remedied that with some easy natural barricades. It seems we have an alpha rat...no small task to catch so I am told. FINGERS CROSSED!

Since there is a Hugh rat problem in Pawtucket the Big Blue Bug is a must have service!!! If only the mayor would see fit to issue home owners proper receptacles for garbage!
