I'm sorry, but door to door sales is just harassment. While your salesman was polite in his speech and demeanor, salesmen operate through pressure and relentlessly wearing people down until they submit. Coming to my home and requiring me to say no, not once, not twice, but three times to get you to leave me alone is not acceptable. If I say no, go the hell away. No doesn't mean maybe, just try harder. I'm not playing hard to get. Get the hell off my porch. Also, making up names of families "down the street" who are using the service is fraud. I live in a new neighborhood and know pretty much all of my neighbors.

A Joshua "manager" showed up at my door about a month ago. He was very persistent and borderline pushy with his sales gimmick. Reluctantly I agreed to try out their services for a month (at a special introductory rate) as he mentioned several of my neighbors were doing (TOTAL LIE). I was very hesitant to give him my credit card, but he assured me I would be very happy with their services and if I was not, I could cancel at any time. No big deal, right? WRONG. Within a week of the treatment, I saw absolutely no difference in the amount of bugs or spiders on my property. He said "if you see any more spider webs, give me a call and we'll be out to respray"... I took him up on the offer and sure enough they came out and resprayed, but AGAIN, never saw any difference. At this point, I put an alarm in my phone to make sure to cancel before I get a recurring charge, as he mentioned it's a recurring service, but again no big deal you can cancel at anytime. I called Friday (June 21) to cancel the service as it was clearly not doing anything for my yard. At that time I am informed that I'm "in the middle" of my contract and I cannot cancel. I explain that the sales man never once uttered the word "contract" and emphasized how easy it would be to cancel the service if I was not satisfied, which obviously it's clear that I'm not satisfied at this point. The customer service rep apologizes for the confusion and informs me that he's canceled the service. Three days later I get an email that I'm being billed $139. ARE YOU ABSOLUTELY KIDDING ME? In short--- AVOID JOSHUA'S PEST CONTROL AT ALL COST.

Very satisfied with the the pest control over all.However a little disappointed with the overall appearance of the service guy who came. He was young, not dressed professionally. He had his uniform on but he looked like he just rolled out of bed. The representative who came to my house to sign up was friendly and very polite. However did not mention that they would be spraying inside my house as well. Had I known that ahead of time and I would of been more prepared instead of telling him I was about ready to leave for work At least my bug situation (ants) is gone and I can rest easily now.

Just signed up today (they came to my door unsolicited) and had the first service later today. I was told by Brant(?) during his sales call that the entire yard would be treated, and I walked the yard perimeter with him so he would know what was involved. He even added more to the price to cover it. He also said they would treat the entire yard each quarter, even during Winter. I was skeptical, but he was insistent that that is the service they provide. When the installer came out I noticed he did NOT treat the entire yard, even though I walked the perimeter with him also. He walked around with a hand crank spreader, but only made three passes in our back yard, which is half an acre alone. There's no way what he put down will take care of all the ticks, chiggers, and other pests that will be in our yard. He did okay around the perimeter of the house, and inside the house, but the yard was not what I was sold. 7/18/19 -- update to my previous post. Service Manager Nick came out yesterday and we discussed the problem mentioned above. He stated that they wanted to make it right, even though I offered to let them out of the contract because of the size of my yard. Nick insisted they would like to continue with the service as agreed upon and wanted to correct any misunderstanding, so we walked the yard again and Nick himself treated the yard and perimeter of the house again, completely. He said that for future treatments he will ensure that their techs know what is required to treat my yard and home per the agreed upon terms, and will try to schedule treatments when I am at home. To be honest I'm impressed with the level of response and customer service that Nick and Joshua's Pest Control have provided to make me a happy customer. That's pretty rare these days, so I've changed my rating to five stars and will continue with their service for the coming year.

I'm sorry to have to write a negative review on Joshua, but I feel others should be aware and ALWAYS get a second opinion if possible. Recently, a Joshua representative was in my mother's neighborhood in Olathe. This particular development is home to many seniors.This representative told my mother and two other neighbors in the development that they had an infestation of termites and tried to sign them up for the termite extermination program. We decided to have two other reputable exterminator companies come to my mother's home (as well as the neighbors) and inspect to confirm the infestation of termites. WE WERE TOLD BY BOTH COMPANIES THAT NONE OF THE THREE HOMES HAD TERMITES! I did give them one star, because when I contacted Joshua to inform them of this, they were courteous and apologetic.

I also explained to him that all of our subdivision entrances have signs posted that we are a “No Soliciting Community.” The gentleman stated that he had a “special permit” and as such he could solicit. Very, very poor business practices on your part. The subdivision we live in has tons of school aged kids that may have been asleep when your sales representative was out ringing doorbells in a No Soliciting community let alone a No Soliciting home. Please be respectful of the No Soliciting community signs and the homes that do not wish to have your business Soliciting at my house at 8:30 pm. The over promise/under deliver reviews are spot on. I went against my better judgement and gave this company a shot. That was my mistake. Everyone was nice but the charismatic salesperson promised “we’ll go around the house and remove all the spider webs” of which they did not. I expressed my concern with the reviews and was promised the owner took this very seriously and would make sure I was satisfied. I wasn’t home when the tech was outside but right after I got home my daughter calls me down to the living room to point out the plethora of webs around the window and the two live spiders. I responded to the “let us know if there’s an issue” text and got a call back informing me they don’t actually remove all the webs in the windows. But they’ll call back in two weeks. Sloppy work, empty promises and underwhelming service. Don’t waste your time or money. I also expressed my concern to the sales person about a year commitment and was assured the local owner cared so much about clients that they would never hold me to pay for something I didn’t want. I’m guessing I’m on the hook. Lesson learned. Don’t make the same mistake.

Hit and miss. Definitely depends on who does your service. Some techs are great and some are difficult to deal with. One season we may have no ants and another season the ants simply move to a different access point and we find them all over. Some techs throughly protect the house and others don’t. The over promise/under deliver reviews are spot on. I went against my better judgement and gave this company a shot. That was my mistake. Everyone was nice but the charismatic salesperson promised “we’ll go around the house and remove all the spider webs” of which they did not. I expressed my concern with the reviews and was promised the owner took this very seriously and would make sure I was satisfied. I wasn’t home when the tech was outside but right after I got home my daughter calls me down to the living room to point out the plethora of webs around the window and the two live spiders. I responded to the “let us know if there’s an issue” text and got a call back informing me they don’t actually remove all the webs in the windows. But they’ll call back in two weeks. Sloppy work, empty promises and underwhelming service. Don’t waste your time or money. I also expressed my concern to the sales person about a year commitment and was assured the local owner cared so much about clients that they would never hold me to pay for something I didn’t want. I’m guessing I’m on the hook. Lesson learned. Don’t make the same mistake.

Hit and miss. Definitely depends on who does your service. Some techs are great and some are difficult to deal with. One season we may have no ants and another season the ants simply move to a different access point and we find them all over. Some techs throughly protect the house and others don’t. Mostly pleased overall.

I wish there was a way to post pictures. About 7:30 pm Saturday evening the 14th of September, we were driving west bound on I-70 when one of the drivers (male, dark hair and glasses) in vehicle #15 continued to swerve in our lane over and over. We tried to pass him and saw him staring down at his phone, the phone in plain view (I have multiple pictures, it wasn’t a quick glance). My husband who was driving tried honking at him but he ignored and continued to play on his phone. What’s it going to do for the company if he continues to be SO irresponsible and kills someone? We had them come respray with having a ton of rain and they did it at no extra cost or push back. Curtis Leonard (may have spelled his last name wrong) came out and did the respray. He was good and made sure to ask us if we had any specific problem areas. IE: our fence, deck, basement etc. That away to make sure he got where we wanted.

I did not answer the door but, he went to my neighbor across the street who answered the door and chewed him out for ringing door bells so late in the evening. If this is the way they need to get business I will look for another company to use. So unprofessional. Not the fact that they are going door-to-door but, doing it so late in the evening.

When I first started with them I had the same guy once and it was nice because they know all the concerns and my house and I do not have to explain myself time and time again. It would be nice to see the same person and build trust with this company but it seems like that is probably not going to happen. This last guy Xavier was really cool and did a great job. In and out. Good people person. I guess that's what a lot of companies do is filter through but it would be nice if they became more hometown feeling and kept the same employees. Overall the company has decent prices, listens to concerns, and comes out as promised on the days they tell you. They just dont give you that hometown feeling or family approach by having the same people come to your home. In my eyes very little improvement if they keep the same family!

High pressure sales on my wife and wouldn’t leave until she signed up. Then they extorted us for some contract balance that she had no clue she was signing up for. They continue to come to our door and knock and they are very rude. Then last time they came to the door during dinner, I had to tell the guy to have some respect and leave us alone. No clue on their service, I’m sure they spray bugs well but the contracts and am high pressure sales tactic are terrible!!
