I have been using Apopka Heron lawn & pest control service for several years. I decided to have them perform some irrigation repairs (per their recommendation). They came out & partially performed the repairs. I called to ask about the 2 sprinklers that were to be added, & was told the technician decided they were not necessary & performed other repairs. I told them I would like the work that was paid for to be done. I was informed the technician will call me to schedule. When I arrive home, I found my lawn torn apart to add the 2 sprinkler heads. It appears as if the technician was disgruntle that he had to return & did a very sloppy job. I had to spend 1 1/2 hrs. to complete the work that I paid Heron to do. Very disappointed & will not be using any of their services any longer.

We have lived in our house for three years and Heron has always maintained our yard to the nines. Recently, they sprayed a chemical and advised us to amp up the watering which we did immediately. Within a day or two, our grass began to die. You can see the trail marks they made and they are telling us it's the yard men (who cut 90% of the yards and no one else has this issue). Very disappointed in the customer service we received telling us we would get a few free sprays....Really! This is St. Augustine and now filling in with Bermuda grass. How about you restore my lawn to what it was and take ownership to your mistakes!

They add wrong chemical on my grass, I got 2 small brown spot the sizes of personal pizza, they say will be worst before it gets better within 2 weeks (that was the last treatment), after 8 weeks half of my land is brown and needs to be replaced. Now, no one calls back, no answer the phone, No one show up, no managers/Supervisor calls. If you are reading this is because you care about your lawn, just call a different company. HERON LAWN & PEST CONTROL....AWFUL - They promise the best service and quality performance and give nothing but lots of promises, and many excuses.... I paid a year in advance and they guarantee everything until it is time to take responsibility of the grass which has lots of weeds, bare spots, several lost bushes and pest infested trees, magnolia, and azaleas. They sent an inspector, Ryan, out to take a look after I cancelled, and he had an excuse for everything. Did you know that pine straw causes disease to azalea bushes? That is what he told me. I can not believe this company is rated so highly

We've had a great experience working with Heron Pest Control the past couple of years. I feel that they are caring and understanding. Our technician Kirby is extremely helpful. He is very knowledgeable about all kinds of pests and knows the best course of action. Kirby has a great sense of urgency and is always available to discuss pest questions with me. I also like that they are effective but do not use harsh chemicals which is very important to our family with little children playing in the yard. I definitely recommend Heron for your pest control needs.

This company loves charging you upfront, so that there is no way for you to back out or get your money back when your lawn is not up to the customers expectations or they mess it up or just don’t maintain it as good. I started with them they sent An experienced employee named Juan, he was great took his time and did a quality maintenance job on lawn. He came the first 2 or 3 visits of service. Afterward they sent a guy with no experience dressed sloppy sprayed my lawn and serviced it in less than 8 minutes. I mean literally sprayed the as he speed walked. Didn’t look at troubled areas or anything didn’t spray for weeds or anything I believe because my lawn was lost after 2 of his visits.. I called company complaining refused to make payment unless they fix it. Told them about in experience kid doing my lawn and even a few of my neighbors noticed and had the same problem! I had surveillance footage to prove it. They promised they will fix it. They sent Juan back out once again. I made the payment and then they never returned. They said that from now on I had to leave a card on Auto pay or pay a year up front. This company is just worried about getting paid before providing service, because it is a hit or miss.. so if you like gambling this company is for you. I refuse to continue to pay lawn company upfront with empty promises and inexperienced employees.

Had to give one star as i don't have option to give NO stars. Stay away from Heron. After buying new house we opted for heron and was using the services for 1.5 years. We were quite unhappy with service and always used to think that lawn is not looking perfect . Service guy used to say some or the other reason every time he visited and thus 1.5 years passed by. When we consulted with other service provider, they said that most of the lawn has Torpedo grass and its been growing since many months. We called up Heron and asked for explanation but there is no response from them... Manager paid visit to lawn after multiple calls and apologized for Heron mistake but refused to replace the sod. The very purpose of opting for Heron services is lost because they are unable to maintain the lawn and they didn't have any accountability when they destroy the lawn. It's pure money waste opting for Heron and i'm regretting now as this Torpedo grass is not treatable only way to control it to some extend is to replace sod.

NOT HAPPY!!! I have my lawn sprayed every two months for fungus and pests. I constantly still have grub and any pile issues. I have been home on a few occasions watching through the windows to witness how they actually spray your yard! I is incomplete. I have seen them do the front, walk into the backyard and only do the sides and part of the back so it looked like they were doing their job. I just got off the phone with a rep who tells me that the techs are scheduled to come out to my house in a couple days. When I asked if it was normal to still have ant piles and grubs, she states yes, this is why you have service come out every two months. Bull Crap!! If the product was good, it would continue to keep the pests away. Otherwise, come out more often!

Expensive & simply awful. Contracted with @MyHeronHome (lawn & shrubs) before putting in NEW lawn, confirmed sprinkler system coverage & grass choice with Heron. Less than two years later, we have have lost over a $1k in shrubs & have an enormous variety of weeds overtaking our yard. You name the weed, this yard has it! James, the manager will promise anything but do nothing. It took three unreturned phone messages over a 42 day period to have James come out to look over issues this past March. No improvement at all. I have since left three more voice messages (since mid-May) and again, no returned call from James. Worst. Service. Ever. Hiring #Heron has cost me a small fortune & will cost me more still to repair damage & replace dead plants in our backyard. Please save yourself trouble & money by going elsewhere for your lawn care needs.

We have been using Heron for several years now. We have a large yard with a great deal of landscaping. Our technician Angel, is amazing! He's extremely knowledgeable about plants/trees/lawns and how to keep them all looking healthy & beautiful. He's always thorough, treats our property like it was his own, and takes the time to answer all my questions. He will walk my property with me, telling me what I can do to help the health of particular plants, when and how to prune my roses (which I've killed in the past from doing it wrong), and is very proactive in keeping up with all the diseases and fungi that are inherent with our weather. Of course we, the homeowners, have to do our part and follow the recommendations left on the paperwork they leave. I trust Angel with my yard so much I actually turned down a much lower bid to do the same work. Angel is a great asset to Heron Lawn and Pest! Their service is exceptional!

Mark Reindl was my service technician. He was very attentive to my problem and went over and above addressing my concerns, leaving no stone unturned to resolve the matter. Mark's extremely timely response and very thorough investigation helped pinpoint the cause. Keep hiring extremely qualified individuals like Mark.

Cory was very thorough and identified a few issues that had been missed plus fixed a couple of sprinkler heads. He also pointed out that there was fresh raccoon poop around the house and sure enough, the next morning when I put up the garage door there was Mr. Raccoon sitting there. They are returning today to deal with that issue.

Sorry to say that we put new grass down and wanted to keep it looking green and beautiful. After the initial application, the grass started turning brown in spots and they came for fungus application. It is getting worse, not better, we have not seen Heron again (have a bi-monthly contract) and they do not return phone calls. Not happy at this point. We followed every specific direction they gave re: watering, etc. Will wait and see if they are going to replace any of the grass.

We don,t usually leave reviews, but felt others need to know just how good or excellent Corey from the irrigation department is. We have had a repair man out here 5 times in the last 3 months just got tired of the lame excuses and incomplete work. Decided to call heron because they take care of our landscape, they keep it beautiful! anyway Corey was fantastic, very knowledgeable and informative. He explained each step answered all my many questions he repaired what was needed and improved other areas and made them more efficient. Love my lawn and irrigation worry free once again! When Heron first started treating my lawn they pointed out a problem area around my driveway and sidewalk and recommended we replace with new sod. We did what they said and they had been treating the new sod. A few months later we started noticing weeds growing like crazy in the newly soded areas and in other portions of the yard. My first escalation call was to a manager name Ryan, he sent a technician out to re-treat the yard and told me that the technicians use a green dye in there weed killer so they know where they are spraying, and often times they avoid spraying close to the driveway and sidewalk to avoid staining. He said they removed the dye and treated our yard thoroughly. Ryan said we would start seeing a difference in a few weeks. A few weeks went by and the yard was looking worse the weeds were spreading and the treatments were not working. I called again and this time I spoke to another manager name Matt. Matt sent his technician out and scheduled to visit the property. The technician visited while my husband was home and told him there was nothing he could do for the problem areas, he said we would have to dig it up again and replace the sod. This was never noted or mentioned on the previous visit by the technician or Ryan. Matt concluded the sod would have to be replaced after his visit to the property. I canceled my service with heron and told them I was not paying the $69 balance for the last treatment as I felt they failed to do their job. I received a call from Kevin ( a manager above Ryan & Matt) who told me that the weeds were a type of Bermuda Grass that they are not responsible for treating. He said please read your contract we don’t treat that type of weed. He then reads me a note from their technician from Feb. that makes mention of Torpedo Grass (they don’t treat that either according to the contract) and basically told me I should have read the contract. The managers in this company are terrible—I asked Kevin why wouldn’t you call us or specifically tell us we can’t treat that weed you need to remove it or it will become a bigger problem? We hired Heron because we don’t want to treat our lawn, if they see problems that are not covered by the contract then they should be notifying the customer. I again asked that they remove the $69 charge as I feel they failed to do what they were hired for. Kevin said he would split the $69 with me, but I feel they should remove the entire charge.

I was in tears this morning due to Heron Lawn. I had an appointment this morning with the manager about my lawn care and waited for 30 minutes he never showed up. I called the office they stated that the appointment was cancelled due to the fact that I do not want to go on automatic payments. Automatic payments? Your company does not have to respect to cancel an appointment, properly take care of my lawn, and you would like to automatically deduct funds for a lack of service you have proven to provide? I have had Heron Lawn for several years and have been satisfied for the past 6 months the service has changed. Has anyone else experience way below average service from this company? Management will not call me or return my phone calls however sends their minions to call and set up automatic payments. Will you automatically replace my grass that you destroyed? I notice other customers experience the same thing, no call back and no sod replacement. Heron, Is this how you treat your long term customers? You do not attempt to solve the problem? New customers beware!!!! * Update. 1/19/2018 afternoon several calls to the office no call back from management, no follow through on the problem they created. So disappointing. I am definitely looking into what my rights are and looking for a compensation Refund in small claims court.

Horrible Service, signed up with Heron Pest control 2 months ago, they have come out to the house several times to service our home and we still having same issues with rouches and Fleas, last to time they came out and serviced home without notice and bill us $89.00, they advertise their service with the " money back guarantee " if not satisfy, We are still waiting for it, worse yet we are still waiting for a phone call from the manager to speak to us, I even took the day off to go talk to someone at their main office in Apopka, couldn't talk to a manager! I was told someone was gonna call me later on that day...yea still waiting....Dont bother using them....honestly, try someone else...

Horrible customer service and lawn service. Doveweed has overtaken our entire front yard. It takes forever for the technician and the Anthony the supervisor to call you back (if he ever calls back). After numerous messages and emails, Anthony finally called once but could not call back for an update of his findings on our lawn (still waiting). Alberto the technician didn't even notice the Doveweed was there. It has killed our St. Augustine grass. They are quick to send an invoice but documentation is lacking on what exactly they did. It's like pulling teeth to get any information on your lawn and to correct the problems. Do yourself a favor and find a better company. Don't throw money down the drain by hiring them. After 10 months, that's exactly what we've done.

I usually never leave reviews but I really have to do with Heron. Dave (Orlando, FL) has been treating our lawn for around 5 months. Before the treatment, my grass looked yellow and full of weeds. As soon as Dave started treating the lawn, weeds were gone and the grass turned SO PERFECTLY GREEN. I really recommend Heron to anyone. My neighbors use the competitor company and their grass looks so sad and full of weeds. Until it stops raining I won't know how it works but am confident that if there are any concerns Heron will take care of them. They have been very responsive to my calls.

I have had heron home and outdoor as my lawn service and pest control going on three years now. In comparison to any other company I have used, heron continually outperforms all of them. Especially in reference to feedback from all my friends and family, it seems that Heron's customer service, organization, and attention to detail on the exact service they are performing is second to none. A perfect example of the type of organization that heron home and outdoor can be in reference to my most recent experience. I had the pleasure to work with what I would assume is one of herons most valued employees Mark Reindl. We were getting a follow up visit on pest control, as we suspected that we might have a mouse or squirrel in attic. First, it was amazing on how attentive Mark was as he called to confirm the appointment, and told me exactly what he was going to do on the appointment. He also, wanted to confirm if the time was still acceptable for me. Wow... nobody has asked me that before. Other companies just give me a block of time, and I have to wait hope and pray they will show up. I asked if he could make it earlier, and the planets were aligned and he said sure. So, not only does he make it earlier, he was right on time... again other companies fail at this. This guy was awesome, he knew his stuff, absolute expert! He took the time to explain everything in detail to my wife and I, and took the time to show us exactly what he was doing so that we understood the service he would be executing on the entire house. He thoroughly inspected everything, and was just an absolute professional on his job. He was also very comforting on the the topic, as the very idea of a mouse was frightening to my wife, so he was just amazing on how he explained the situation. He also expressed key things to look for, and troubleshooting ideas for the future, without using scare tactics or hardselling us on any other services, which can sometimes be uncomfortable. Most of what I am writing might be considered an expectation or a standard of practice... but Overall, just the detail and attitude of this gentlemen was what reconfirmed our feelings toward Heron. It's just that customer service is terrible nowadays, and you are lucky to get anyone that does the job right... but having someone that does the job right, is an absolute professional that instantly creates a level of trust when you work with them, and makes you feel like this is the most important part of their day is just amazing. I want to work with this guy again, and I appreciate that Heron has such a fine professional working for them. You have a keeper heron, and should reward and keep this guy happy, because he is the perfect employee from our perspective. GREAT JOB HERON, GREAT JOB MARK!

The tech you get matters. After thinking they were the bomb after years with Massey, we sadly learned our tech Lucas was the difference maker. Despite clearly communicating what he did that was good to each new person who showed up they just did a quick job, being here less than half as long as he was on each visit. I asked them to thoroughly take care of a row of hedges, was told sure, then watched the tech from my window skip them completely 5 minutes later. Office manager didn't even ask a question when I called to cancel, obviously they don't care once they hook you. Back to Massey, we'll see what they do again for a while. Ugh.

Okay, I admit it. I'm a raving fan of Heron Lawn & Pest. If there is ever an issue (roaches in the attic, ants in the yard biting my Labrador, black widows on the porch, or wasps nests in hard to reach places), Heron takes care of the problem immediately with professionalism and a smile on their face. The level of professionalism I have seen from their technicians are unparalleled for their industry. I have referred them out to every homeowner I know downtown, and feel a sense of pride when one of their service flags show up in my neighbors' yards. My favorite technician is DJ Stephens (no relation). He always takes the time to explain different ways pests could potentially get into my house, and recommends things I could do to make my house just a little more unfriendly to unwanted insects. I was recommended from a neighbor who had a great looking yard. He let me know that Heron was his maintenance company, but he also expressed how important it is to consistently mow and water correctly. Since starting with Heron and monitoring my water schedule I have been nothing but satisfied. I have had to make a few service calls between normal treatments and each time I called they came out the same week, treated the issue, and educated me on how to avoid it moving forward. Angel is my technician and he has been a wealth of knowledge and support. I have already recommended Heron to some other friends and neighbors and the neighborhood is looking better one house at a time. Had water company shut off my water due to a possible leak. Used 64,000 gallons and the home has been vacant. I found out when servicing the sprinkler system they set each zone to run for 90 minutes. Thinking it must have been a mistake I contacted them. The tech told me they are required to set the zones for that long because they are responsible for the lawn. Well Im responsible for paying the water bill. I'm from California and out there you can't run a zone more then 15 minutes, 3 times a week because of water conservation. My yard was fine with 15 minutes, but somehow in Florida where it rains offen they want to run them for 90 minutes and expect me to pay the bill.

I'm very pleased with the service from Heron for my lawn, I must have one of the best lawns in my sub-division. One aspect of their service I do like is that if you have an issue like a bare spot or an area of grass that isn't doing too well, they will come out and do an extra treatment at no cost although I've only had to do that a few times over many years. They're not the cheapest lawn service provider out there, but it's certainly a case of you get what you pay for. I've also had Heron do some irrigation work for me as well that was done very well and on time. Their customer service team is very professional and polite on the phone which I appreciate as well. Overall a great company to do business with.

I cancelled TruGreen after too many times of them showing up saying my back gate was locked (there is no lock!). I saw on a neighborhood internet sharing site (NextDoorNeighbor) that many people were dis-satisfied with TruGreen and many people recommended Heron. I made a comment and in less than 24 hours DAN SHAW of Heron sent me a personal message that he could come by and give me an estimate for services. I am hard to catch but Dan kept at it - he texted me and waited outside my house and i ended up cancelling my account with TruGreen and signed on with Heron (really I signed on with DAN SHAW as he was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, professional, kind - all the attributies of a great sales person). I also had DAN/Heron redo my sprinklers in the front yard (18 heads) to a new sprinkler type that I love. I am so excited to see results. I need to mention that DAN stopped by the same evening my sprinklers were done to make sure his technician did a great job (which he did). Heron has no emergency service for their irrigation service contract holders If you have an emergency on a Sunday, such as I did with flooding in my patio, you can get no service. Your only recourse will be to turn all your water off. I assume that the same lack of service would happen after normal business hours. This emergency only occurred because the "fix" of a previous leak was shoddy.

I had a technician come to my house to treat my yard and there is still a ton of weeds. Nick F, was the person that appeared on my reciept copy. He used a bit of white dust on some weeds. I figured out that it was baking soda and killed most of the weeds in my lawn. No improvement over Nick fertilizing, i bet he isnt doing crap. The micro nutrient spray and from a spray can. How can you get full coverage with that? My mind is blown...

I had the pleasure after 3+ months of service to be at home today and to meet Clinton, your (MY) Technician that has been serving my lawn. I will start off by saying Heron will be my 5th lawn & pest care company I have hired. Needless to say I am very particular about my lawn and expect extreme care given to it. When Clinton pulled up this morning, it was like a one man military deployment. He attacked the lawn and moved about my property with a meaningful purpose. Not easy considering it was already 93+ degrees when he showed up in the morning. In my experience with lawn and pest companies in the past, they were all the same verbiage on my receipt every time with little to no weed control results. Clinton opened his truck (Extremely Impressive Truck Setup, I mean Genius) began mixing things to spray the lawn and treated it like he lived here!!!! After completing that, as I previously have with Clinton received a write up analysis of what he observed (personal and very legible). In my book, a lot of your business success and customer satisfaction comes down to the Technician. I have got to say, Clinton is a decorated 4 star General, when it comes to lawn care. Please make sure he continues as my technician. In the fast paced hurry to get it done world we live in, it is EXTREMELY nice to see people and a company that services the customers’ needs to the HIGHEST extent. There are a lot of companies that say it and advertise it, but Heron Lawn and Pest Control backs it up and should be congratulated and ranked as the BEST IN THE BUSINESS!!!! Hands down. This from a person, like I previously mentioned went through 4 other companies

Lack of response by both quality and management. After following requests by these managers at a significant cost, i put some remedies in place to work with Heron,they were simply required to follow their own suggestion of follow up visits and feed back........... they simply do not follow thro with their side of the deal, and they promise to call and do not. Maybe because i am a customer of several years who paid up front for the service for the entire year and they do not care as they have my money. I will be seeking a more senior manager and i will not be using them in the future. Lets see how they handle breech of contract.
