This Park corresponds to the category of State park.
Beautiful place but close the museum to early in the year.
Outstanding!! Visited on my first trip to Wyoming. Such natural beauty as I had only ever seen in photos or videos. Very much worth the visit.
Wonderful space that backs to National Forest. The sinks we're beautiful!
Awesome water feature, and the waterfalls were amazing and pretty private with a couple calm pool areas to cool off.
Wonderful place to see
Absolutely beautiful state park. One of my favorites in the state. The trout pools are a must see.
A Must Stop! Reserve a cozy Yurt, hike & sightsee to your heart's delight, and tune into 89.5' for native powwow music - you won't be the same, and why would you want to be?!
One of the best state parks in the country for sure. Something here for all visitors; climbing, hiking, swimming, site seeing, (free) camping birding, bouldering, picnics and cookouts and a great visitor center, got to check this place out.
Really cool park. Nice trails. Good facilities. Huge trout. It's a great place to visit, highly recommend.
this was our second time here. we decided to stop back through again and has become our favorite place. absolutely gorgeous
A beautiful place, the river is interesting
Beautiful setting along the Pope Agie River. The Sinks and The Rise are a very interesting phenomenon where the river plunges into a cave and surfaces 1/4-mile away.
Cool canyon and helpful Forest service
Hidden GEM! Right along the river, very scenic! Cheap camping too! Most sites are small and the roads are narrow, so leave your big rigs at home. They should mark the campground roads one way, pretty confusing otherwise.
Cool place. Take a few quarters to feed the fish. The middle fork falls we're worth the hike.
Hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, fishing, camping, ORVing, hunting, kayaking...a gorgeous free state park. You can also feed the large trout that stay in a pool
Beautiful area. Camped for a week.
Love the sinks and rise!
Beautiful
Beautiful and fun hike with an interesting feature.
Make sure to stop and feed the fish, bring bread. Gorgeous canyon.
Fun, beautiful walk, facinating cave in wonderful canyon.
Best trip ever
Love this park. Beautiful!
Very clean park areas and super cool features to see. Beautiful area.
Natural beauty, great trails, friendly visitor center. The monster trout at the Rise are a must see. Remarkable disappearance of the Popo Agie River into a limestone cave that you can hike right into. Only in Wyoming where the West remains.
Spent two nights here next to river and it is absolutely beautiful. Park staff are very friendly and helpful and the sounds of the river can not be beat. Great place to hike, bike and watch wildlife!!
Beautiful a must see on daily bases
A beautiful spot on the river. We slept well with the white noise from the river. Enjoyed the hiking and wildlife. The sink part is interesting. Good visitors center with information on the area.
Uniquely interesting geological feature that is actually fun to see.
Awesome, beautiful, a equal to my gorgeous lady, Maureen Helen Genke!
Amazing hike and beautiful scenery! Love the falls!
Such a beautiful place and very easy to access.
A beautiful reset. Peaceful spot ❤
Love it here.
Cool place to visit. Weird how the river goes underground and then rises later. Also love to watch the huge trout!
Great place for young kids it was safe and fun. I want to go camping here
Very cool little park. You can park at either the Sink or the Rise, and walk a paved path between the two. A couple rough little paths lead to the overflow channel and down to the cave where the river disappears into the ground. The Rise is really pretty in the morning. Bring quarters if you want to get a handful of fish food to throw to the trout. You can see everything in an hour or so - less, if you hustle - but I was in no hurry to leave, as it's a pretty little canyon and we had a beautiful day.
Great hiking, falls were beautiful! Will come back to camp next time.
Take your kids here! They have an amazing little museum that is Smithsonian quality!! Go to the walking tour by the Sink....10-15 pound trout!!?
beautiful wyoming
Where does it go?
This is a great place to go with kids after a lot of hours in the car. We spend some time looking at the sinks and then took a short walk down to the rise. our kids were impressed with the fish in the rise area.
Very interesting park with great views of the canyon
Best place to see and show to people coming to live for the first time
Awsome park
Incredible high volume river goes underground, then 1/4 mile down mountain comes back above ground. Very cold mountain stream. Great visitors center, and scenic picknic areas. 1.5 mile trail (each way) leads to falls and natural water slide. Must see!
Beautiful place. Scenic
Such a cool place, lots to see
Great place for a family trip. Gorgeous views. To see where the po po river goes under ground and reappears down the road is awesome
I just love this park. Always have. The State has really improved the amenities here over the years. The visitor's center and the Rise are not to be missed. Camping here is a delight and it's interesting to enjoy the twilight in the canyon that lasts for hours. It's surreal. They have pit latrines, yurts, and tent sites. With the Popo Agie river running, the sounds are just super relaxing. Well worth s visit.
We needed a place to camp for the night and gave this place a shot. Wow, what a nice park! Very easy to access, nice visitors center, great trails, a stunning river, and simply a beautiful place. All around great find!
Awesome, Been here before in the summer and it always amazes me.
Breathtakingly beautiful.
Very BEAUTIFUL place to see. We loved feeding the fish.
Very interesting place. Was fun feeding the fish, that is a must. Looks like lots of hiking tracks. Beautiful views fron the top.
Wonderful site. It was snowing the day we went but still interesting. It is a place you need to go to several times a year to see how it changes.
Great place to go visit whether you don't have a lot of time or have tons of time. There is plenty of hiking/biking options out here and going to "the sink" and "the rise" is a must do and is only a very short walk for all ages. If you have a quarter, buy some fish food and you can feed the huge fish swimming below at "the rise". Staff is super helpful and friendly at the visitor center and is worth the stop in. You will probably learn a few new things.
Very nice attraction to see.
Interesting place. Fun to visit. The visitor center is worth a look too. Its not as grand as some parks, but a nice day or half day visit.
One of my favorite places to be. Most of my pictures on Google maps are from Sinks Canyon.
I love hiking the falls trail! If you have bad ankles wear hiking boots, not tennis shoes.
Sinks Canyon State Park is very beautiful and a must visit spot for anyone passing through Lander. The visitor center is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. It is well worth a visit. The Sinks is amazing as the water disappears through the rocks. It reappears in the Rise where you can feed the resident trout.
Must see. Very cool place.
Have enjoyed coming here since I was a kid
Pretty cool place to visit. You can feed fish and hike.
Good place to check out for a day! Great hike up to some waterfalls! Definitely recommend!
Love it, so nice
Absolutely gorgeous!
Cool canyon where river goes underground
Beautiful place for enjoying the great outdoors. I little slice of heaven tucked away in Lander, Wyoming. Great activities for all levels.
Definitely worth going to beautiful sights and easy trails for all ages and abilities.
Sinks Canyon is a favorite place to visit from the first stop to the last ~ Feeding the large trout, Hiking the mountain trails to the falls, Staying over night in the Yurt next to the roar of the river and crossing the swinging bridge STOP SWINGING THE BRIDGE
Pleasant place for a walk.
Oh, this place is beautiful! I had no idea that this place existed. My Mom suggested a road trip, and we through around a couple ideas, then she mentioned Sinks Canyon. She hadn't been there for years, and my niece and I had never been. We got a late start, so we couldn't check everything out. I will definitely go back for another adventure.
Fascinating place where the river disappears underground for 500m then pops back up again. Great scenery and informative visitor center. Well worth a stop
So many wonderful memories of growing up with this place. Still beautiful and tranquil as when I was a child.
Sinks Canyon has amazing recreation opportunities! Rock climbing and hiking, as well as just taking in the marvel that "the sink" is! Enjoy it.
The state park was clean and well maintained. They even had clean restrooms. The folks up there are kind and knowledgable.
Beautiful!
Fun and great day
Amazing place. Lots of wildlife viewing. I did the loop from lander up sinks canyon over to hwy 28. Back to lander, about 35 miles. It's gorgeous there. Lots of opportunity to fish, picnic or just hike and relax. Amazing scenery. It doesn't cost to drive in but you should stop by the visitors center and donate so that our state parks are maintained. Please don't litter, pick some up whole there so that others can enjoy a clean park
Intriguing. Pretty, but not spectacular. Worth the visit if you are in the area, but you can see all there is to see in under an hour. They sell fish food so your kids (-or the kid in you-) can feed the huge trout that dwell in the Rise, 40 or 50 feet or so below the observation platform, nothing up close and personal.
Incredible experience just coming out of Shoshone National Forest. If you're headed into town for any reason, you need to stop here and take the time to see the river. The hike isn't bad, only about a quarter of a mile or less. And it's a fairly easy hike for anyone involved. There's also a nice ranger station with good information on the area as well.
Could use a little bit of work for those that are handicapped. But other wise just one of the wonderful Wyoming attractions.
Interesting
Most popular destination in Lander Wyoming. Great for kids and everyone
What a great campground. Free firewood, water, and clean restrooms. They have perfect access to the Sinks Canyon trail network.
Great scenery. The rise of the Sinks is right off the highway and is fun for people of all ages. The falls are a great place to visit.
Always lots to do here. Easy access.
Very beautiful sights, definitely worth experiencing
Just beautiful... amazing side trip enroute to Yellowstone from Denver.
Loved it. I'll go back as often as I can
Wonderful little place
Beautiful place. Natural wonder. Something you should see
We had a great time! We loved feeding the trout in the trout pool
Very cool stuff. My wife loved feeding the huge trout
You can feed trout here. Amazing place
It's always a good spot to visit
What an amazing beautiful place. So happy we came here.
Great place, very interesting geology!
Simply awe inducing. Beautiful trail. Sitting by the river is really relaxing.
Stayed in a yurt. Great views, clean bathroom, sites were well taken care of.
Unique river that drops into a cavern and pops up 1/4 mile down hill. Good rest rooms, educational displays, safe walkways. Not really handicap accessible.
You just have to see it in person to get the beauty of it.
Beautiful natural features
Great camp spots with beautiful surroundings!
Good state park, lots of things to do!
Beautiful
Very pretty area and interesting. I would suggest a hour or two to visit.
Breathtaking as always.
Great place to hike and get outdoors! The scenery is amazing and the park staff is very friendly.
Very cool stopover. First stop, you get a great view of huge fish and can feed them. Second stop (with visitor's center), you get to see a ton of water just flowing into a deep pool and disappearing. Very pretty. Visitor's center is great for kids.
Interesting geological anomally. Heavy river flow then.... Nothing. Pretty cool.
A hidden gem of Wyoming! Never knew this was here. It's beautiful and cozy. I don't even know how I would rate it if there was running water in the campgrounds, because it's already 5 stars!
Very cool place to visit. Execllent visitors center. Friendly staff
Amazing
What a beautiful and unique place!
Great park. Stop to see the huge trout in the stream below the visitor center
Wonderful interpretation center. Wish Colorado did as well.
Nice spot I stayed above state park there is free camping in huge Otto national froest deserped camping area just couple miles above state park
Because we've always loved it.
We stayed in a Yurt. I loved it. Would highly recommend it.
Grest place to hike
Beautiful place to explore. Hiking, fishing, a visitors center, and you can even feed large trout. There is plenty to do and discover here.
Beautiful Park. The park staff are extremely helpful and caring. The trails are easy to navigate and exceptionally clean. The mountains are beautiful.
Always love going to Sinks Canyon
So much fun. Lots to see & do. If you dont want to walk the drive is great.
Great place to visit with the family! Kids love to climb the rocks and feed the fish!
Every place is easily accessed, friendly knowlegable staff. Great scenery, with signs that verbally tell you about item or read the explanation of the item
Camped here for 6 weeks. Great, beautiful place.
One of my favorite drives in Wyoming!
If you like hiking to beautiful waterfalls and watching the leaves changes color if fishing this is the place for you its not far from town and it's all free! You can feed fish off a bridge and you can see the river go under the mountain it's got a great outdoors center and amazing camping options. And if you want to go to college the sinks canyon center is right in the heart of the sinks
Stunningly beautiful canyon to drive through or get out and hike. There are many interpretive signs that you can read. Also you can feed the fish in the river at the overlook. In the warmer months, they have a visitor center with exhibits as well.
Great place to visit
Beautiful. Breathtaking. The water roaring into the Sinks is amazing as is the "fish pond."
Beautiful place! Love taking the family there
One of my favorite places to go see
Gorgeous state park! Hiking is relatively easy, so good for children.
Beautiful scenery, nice trails, and fascinating geology.
Unique site to see, guaranteed a place you'll never forget!
Great PAVED camping spots close to the beautiful river that runs straight through the park. Many adventures and great sights await you here at sinks canyon!
Super cool!! Great visitor center with tons of info and a ranger to answer questions. Nice short walk to see a natural wonder and it's free!!
I really like this park. It's my new favorite state park. I only spent 2 nights in Lander but I visited this park 4 times. I like the trails, the views, the wildlife, and especially the birds.
Across from the Sawmill campgrounds
This is my back yard and I covet the access to such a fantastic resource. It's a weekly stop for our family to burn energy and get our heads straight. Love it.
Very interested, the water runs underground for miles , no one knows where it goes, pops up 1/4 mile down the road. Huge 30" + rainbow trout
Georgeous gorge with rivers and falls
Awesome place to visit! Be careful if camping...most sites don't have room for big tents. We got lucky. Although there are spots that will fit a small rv further up the road.
Very cool geological experience. Was amazed at how large the trout were at the rise. Pretty drive up the canyon to the sinks too!
Very interesting. Be sure to visit the Sink and the Rise.
Always a great place to go. I like all the trails and fresh air.
Went here by chance on our way to Jackson Hole, well worth the stop for a couple of hours
Had an absolutely wonderful visit here. We didn't have enough time to include the visitor's center but the hike was amazing. Beautiful scenery and waterfalls. I really wish I had known about this place earlier, I would surely have spent more time here. Can't wait to go back!
Fascinating geology: a fast moving little river enters a shallow cave and moves through multitudes of narrow channels, only to emerge two hours later and a quarter of a mile away to continue along its path. One can feed the fish who linger at the spot where the Popo Agie river reemerges to see the light of day.
