This is a State Park. Outhouses and some freshwater. No electricity.

It's a great place to boat and camp. We stayed in the tough Creek camp ground. It was a fun time at a beautiful Wyoming state park.

Great place to unwind and relax anytime

The Parks Management need to spend more time maintaining what they have versus trying to add more!

Very few trees, nasty water and not much for scenery. Typical for this state.

Good fishing.

Beautiful at any time of year, and this early, windy Autumn day was spectacular! The vistas change with the seasons. This holy Native American area is always worth a look. Take it easy and enjoy the view as you are traveling the amazing Wind River Canyon, and Boysen State Park. Come back to enjoy some mighty fine fishing, rock hounding, river rafting, birding and more.

Sandi Bird

Beautiful as always

Brenda Lee

Beautiful scenery

Matthew Long

A must visit good for kids and family

Natalie Krusemeier

There really wasn't much of a pack, so we just walked along the lake for a while. Wasn't very clear I, I believe it is more of a reservoir. There were some people fishing. I was disappointed that there was a campsite that was completely littered with trash. I know that isn't the problem of the Park Service, but come on people. For God's sake. Clean up after yourselves.

Steven Barnaby

We stayed at the Lower Wind River campgrounds. The facilities were disgusting, poorly maintained, paint was pealing everywhere, even the door nobs were not keep up. They smelled awful, and I don't think the host was doing a very good job on keeping the bathrooms clean that were away from there site.

Taryn Robertson

This place is disgusting. Absolute mosquito haven. We ended up sleeping in the back of the car because you can see them swarming before you even get out of the car. Nightmare of a place.

Bryan Kelley

Beautiful park and I hear there are fish nearby.

Cory Fox

Ok but spendy

Jim Anderson

Just drove by, can't wait for the snow to melt away, very good looking place

Tonya Mireles

Park is always clean. Great fishing.

Christine Schoell

We were here for camping. Almost lost our tent to a river before we had chance to stake it. It was soo windy and near a highway and a railroad so it wasn't the most pleasant time sleeping.

Kathy Forbis

Love this place!!

Roger Reynolds

This place would be awesome if it had some trees lol. Still nice though.

Glenda Kendrick

It was so clean an open like your the only one there

Ward Odom

Beautiful scenery. Took a wrong turn trying to avoid traffic after the eclipse and finally came out of the Wind River reservation on the west side of the dam. Interesting trip following power line trails!

Good place

Lindsey Unhock

Stayed here on the way back to Denver from Yellowstone. Campground we stayed in was perfect for RV parking but did not have hookups. Only downside was a vault toilet and no sink in the bathroom but with an RV that didn't really matter. Staying by the water was beautiful!

Eric Saffell

Absolutely beautiful!

Beca Cardona

I have very mixed feelings about this park. The park itself is pretty; however, I have tons of issues with the signs to get to the park. If you are a tourist, good luck to you on finding this place. My GPS took me to the middle of a main road. My cell phone GPS took me to a very isolated dirt road. I got out on the main road and kept driving until I got to the campgrounds, which I found only because there was a sign saying; "You are leaving Boysen State Park". My brain is thinking, how could I be leaving if I haven't arrived. Long story short... My hope was to relaxed with the scenery and I ended up mega stressed. I have traveled a lot and this is the first time I encounter this situation. Very disappointed. Tourist would want to go to the main entrance, not campgrounds. Don't bother calling the Headquarters. They don't answer. Tried 3 times... No luck. Other parks in WY are way worth it than spending 1.5 to 2 hours on this quest.

lionel aderton

Great place!

Kyle Hallam

Fun little drive though this place, beautiful area.

Pam Ippel

We stayed here on our way through WYOMING. The campsite we had was right by the water and very easy access. Dog loved it. Campsite is large and level. There is water near the entrance but filter your water if you dont like the chlorine taste. There is a train track near the campsite but in the 12 hours we were here, only heard two trains. Beautiful clear water lake with mountain backdrop.

Gina Carabajal

Most beautiful place. I enjoyed so very much

Nice lake but they need to rebuild. Fremont bay's boat ramp it is in need drastic repair but it has been that way for 20 years

Jackie Taylor

The bath house is awesome for a wonderful soak in mineral water outside or inside and it is FREE

Alex Boyer

Boysen SP was amazingly beautiful and quiet in the winter. We stopped here on our way to Thermopolis and it was worth the stop before heading through the equally beautiful canyon. It's right off the highway too!

Runes Media

This is a nice park with direct access to the Boysen Resevoir. It has many beautiful campgrounds at various places around the lake. Keep in mind the central focus for recreation revolves around watercraft, so without one it might be boring. There are no facilities for Rv's other than a dump station. There are also a few off the beaten track dirt roads to explore. Camp on lake, shade, swimming, quiet except for speed boats. Site 323 has both and plenty of space. Mainly for boats but also good for just camping.

Louie Pantelis

Awesome

Great park on a beautiful lake. I lucked out and camped in the west side of the lake the night before the eclipse, and enjoyed the event right from the site. When I come back I will take advantage of more of what the park has to offer.

Matt Bobbitt

Great place to stop and take in the fantastic scenery. Was a great place to stretch the legs. Wish we had more time to explore.

Boysen is one of my all time favorite lakes!

Clinton Streeter

Boysen was great, too bad we didnt catch any, ice was great, friendly people!

D Manley

We visited in August, nearly lost all my blood to mosquitoes. Probably much nicer after the first freeze.

Stephanie Moss

Always gorgeous!

Paul Specht

Awesome camping, this is a trapped in time kinda place! Definetly a wild west feel.

Ric Aguilar

The mountain views here are unique, nice and quiet, alot of bugs, by the millions, they do not bite but are very annoying.

MWH Colorado

Stayed in the Upper Wind River Campground of this park. Between the train, road, and sprinkler system all activating in the middle of the night (2 am), did not get much sleep. Nice setting with mature trees but too much noise for an overnight campsite.

Juggalo Leigh

New owners of the marina are amazing. Rich and Georgia thank you!!

Jaren Long

Beautiful

Beetle 805

Great view from highway..

b dunn

Right on the Wind River but too many pole lights for a nice campground. Camp host could have been more available for the busy eclipse weekend. Very confusing campsites.

Sabrina Lawrence

Ice fishing was great. Love this place!! Cant wait to go swimming this summer.

Mark Rice

Beautiful area to ride through

Jonathan Mickelson

Great park, upper wind river campground is nice but no shower, now electrical or water at campsite can be limiting. The gorge is beautiful, and it makes for a wonderful drive to Thermopolis.

The WY State Parks Dept./USFS/BLM should be horsewhipped for what they've done to the system. WY residents are no longer welcome ANYWHERE. Glendo - can't get in from June 1-end of July because of fishing tourneys. Boysen: crappy facilities. Buffalo Bill? Good luck. Locals flock there to get away from the tourists. Park Reservoir? Criminals partying non-stop. Keyhole? Privatized. Seminoe? Desert. No trees. Big Horns? No way you're getting a spot away from a hundred of your closest friends. Bottom line: good luck being a WY taxpayer and recreating in your own state.

Sheila Hayes

Beautiful scenery and quite in certain places. Fun to hang out.

Sharon Coleman

Beautiful scenery..mtns, river, rairoad tracks& tunnels...parks, camping areas.. Had a wonderful time!!!

Wyoming Rayne

We buy the camp pass every year. This is the first year we will actually use it. Took a drive up from Casper to scout it out today. Found that most sites require you to reserve it. So I just got online to reserve for next week. The phone line is only available Mon-Fri until June 1st so we can not use that until it is too late. Got everything set up thinking the camp pass and day pass would cover all fees....wrong! They charged us a $7.50 reservation fee! I know that is not much but I feel like I am being ripped off because I already paid $50 for the camp pass alone and this is likely the only time we will use it, so yeah I am a bit upset by this! Next year we will stick with anything but the state parks!

Daniel Fritz

Lots of fun

Jerome Neumiller

Park Rangers we're rude. They act like they don't want the public there.

Chris Cole

Spent a week camping, boating and exploring. Wonderful time, kids enjoyed it. Great views, good services except for wifi but that's one thing we loved because we wanted a great escape.

Joshua Weickum

Would have only been a 2 except there is what's left of a pretty cool abandoned train tunnel next to the new one below the dam. Very likely to see some BigHorn Sheep right here in this area, in fact I think I've seen one every time I cross the one lane road crossing the dam to the West

Kevin Kolander

Roads are horrible and it cost too much don't go

Chad West

Beautiful surprise

matt bone

Watched the 2017 solar eclipse on the lake here and it was phenomenal. The state park officials were very helpful and have us free glasses

Christopher Martin

Came here to camp and see the 2017 eclipse and it was amazing! The sandy roads near the shore are a little tough to navigate if you don't have a 4wd vehicle though.
