Grandview is an apt name. The main overlook of the New River gorge is just a short, flat walk off the main parking lot. And an awesome view it is. There is a second set of three overlooks at the end of Turkey Spur Rd, which are also very nice, if you are up to hiking up the ~150 steps to get to them. The third overlook is particularly unique because you can see the meandering river double back on itself. Being only about 8 miles off I-64, Exit 129, Grandview is definitely worth the visit.

Absolutely the closest to heaven West Virginia you can ever come too. I absolutely love to go up there to just sit and think. I get lost that's for sure. And my dog Rocky he loves it up there. I absolutely love it. It's an awesome place to visit and it's very clean and I feel safe up there. God sure makes beautiful places. Thank you God.

This was BREATHTAKING and amazing and we had a BLAST. We even saw two deer. Which was amazing as they ran past us and then I called and they stood still looking at us so I could capture their beauty. I saw from another review of having to walk on a road and that’s not the case and I’m glad we kept on the trail so we didn’t have a chance of getting hit by vehicles driving on the road. I recommend this spot to EVERYONE who comes to West Virginia and loves to hike and just be outdoors. Trails was beautiful and lovely and some exhausting but it felt amazing to do and see the beauty all around. Then after we got done doing 3 trails and viewing several of the overlooks we went and played at the playground. We def will be back if we ever come close by.

It's less than 10 minutes to the parking lot from the main road and a two minute flat walk to the overlook. Granted it's not horseshoe bend in AZ but it's just as beautiful, especially in the fall and 1000x easier to get to!

Beautiful breathtaking scenery! The shelters are conveniently spaced which allows for reasonable privacy, yet easy access. There are convenient walking/hiking trails. The air conditioned rock at Turkey Spur is a must see! It’s natures natural air conditioner and there’s nothing like it! We’ve had mom’s birthday picnic there for several years now, and this year we celebrated her 80th there! We love it, and hope to spend many more there!

Must-see in WV. Grandview is gorgeous in May - the endemic rhododendron are in bloom in massive amounts. Combined with the views and beautiful hikes, it's a great park.

Nice Park Shelters, Trails, Playground, Outdoor Theatre in the summer is fun. Nice view of New River from Main Overlook. Wish they would keep cave trails open, those were my favorite.

This is a beautiful park with easily accessible views of New River Gorge and Appalachian Mountains. There are dozens of picnic tables and a playground, though we encountered hundreds of gnats while there. While the overlooks offered stunning views, the hiking trails were not my favorite. There was no benefit to hiking the Grand Rim trail vs driving to rhe different overlooks. In fact, a significant part of the hike is along the paved road! Leading to Turkey Spur overlook included rocks and several flights of stairs, but that was the only moderately strenuous part. All in all, it was a gorgeous, clean park with easy views.

Visitors center closed due to gov shutdown, but bathrooms still open and serviceable at the main overlook. Took our 7 and 9 year old on the Turkey Spur overlook- pretty easy, well-marked trail, but muddy with all the recent rain. Overlook claims 150 steps, but we only counted 132

Panaramic view that is excellent with the river down below...plenty of trails and views...a great stop if you want to see far vistas.
