REVIEWS OF Rasar State Park IN Washington

Stephanie CHENAIS ARMAND

One of my favorite state park! So much to do there and from there.

Grant Marsh

Only drove through on a nice day. Beautiful drive.

Katharine H.

Have not explored the park too much, but it's on the Skagit River, which is gorgeous. Campsites are fairly private/well dispersed.

Jessica Watson

This park has wonderful family friendly trails. There is an ADA trail that goes to the river that you could take a stroller on. All the other trails we went on were clear and easy to navigate. Nice playground and plenty of places to picnic.

Steve Keith

Wonderful place ! Very peaceful.

Daniel Slick

Great park with very well maintained trails

Isaac Madsen

Always a great time! The beach along the river is fantastic. Plenty of trails for a good walk, hike, jog, or bike ride. Decent playground for kids to enjoy. BBQ and picnic benches always seem to be available.

Jim Perez

Beautiful park, right on the river. Campsites are ridiculously barren. Forget putting a big family tent on the sites!!! They are all geared toward RV/travel trailer

Charles Curry

Very peaceful, great park for a family weekend getaway! Walking distance to Skagit river.

D Zumwalt

Small campground overall which isnt a bad thing. The restrooms were centrally located, and very clean! Camp host was very nice. We stayed in walk-in campsite #46 in mid March, with parking very close by. We were the only ones in the that loop. The hiking trails were interesting, especially along the river. It's a small park so dont expect a lot of options for hiking but there are many within driving.

Chris Ann

Clean, quiet and beautiful. Good hike to the river for some rock skipping.

Ronnie wyatt

Clean affordable respectful

Amanda Wheeler

Very nice, clean, quite, privately wooded, and well maintained camp ground. Lots of walking and biking trails. Sandy river beach as well. Not a lot of camping spaces though so make reservations early.

Tina Louise

Love this park. Brought out of staters.. they were impressed with how clean it was and the beauty!

Jason Wicker

Great facilitys. Showers are awesome. Lots of company to help scrub those hard to reach places

Joe Flood

Small and beautiful state park. Great for RV camping.

Harry Willock

Nice spot for easy short walks. Well maintained with good facilities. One side has RV sites and some tent spots and a nice day area, and the other has some very nice newer cabins for rent and three group camping sites. Two of the sites are for RVs and the third is for tenting. All three sites have a nice Gazebo, cook, fireplace area and are private.

Sierra Martin

I've camped here for the past two summers and this campground has made it onto my list of all time favorites. I wasn't sure what to expect with it being an official state park, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the sites are very roomy and secluded enough from your camping neighbors, and there are sites for walk-ins, ones that fit a vehicle, and ones that you can bring your trailer or motor home into. It gets quite hot up here in June; it was nearly 100 degrees when I went a few weeks ago, but the campsites are very wooded and have lots of shade, so other than being a bit muggy, you never have to really worry about getting sunburned while being in your campsite. The restrooms are very nice-- there are showers too, and though I haven't tried them, they look to be decent. The lady at the check-in booth was extremely kind and made sure we knew about all the events going on (ex. movie night) and made sure to let us know where we could find her if we had trouble or questions. I would absolutely recommend this campground to anyone!

Sandra Decker

We loved our cabin. So cute!

Tina Pegar

A wonderful park with river access. Lots of parking for day use as well as a camp ground.

Nick Nicholson

Friendly staff. Beautiful camp sites. Great bathrooms/showers. Next to river.

jahir hussain

Good place

caleb neal

Nice state park with some nice camping spots also a good place to see bald eagles

Brian Holle

A great State Park close to Anacortes and I5. The park was gifted to the state about 20 years ago so it's one of the most up to date and well planned out state parks in Washington. There are on 30 or so camps spots with about half having partial hookups. The space between sites is very good and the woods add even more coverage. There are some nice easy walking trails in the park where you can explore the big field, walk in the woods, or stroll along the Skagit River. There's also a dump station which makes it a perfect spot to dump and fill up of you're heading up Highway 20 to another campground. BONUS: it's a 40 minute walk to the Birdsview Brewery.

John Woodmansee

Beautiful park alongside the Skagit River.

Shelby Beeler

This is the second time that we've camped in a cabin at rasar State Park. There's been some changes but overall it's still a wonderful experience. However this time we were puzzled because there was no garbage pickup in the amount of time that we were there 2 and cans were overflowing overnight) , and the ranger hours have been cut to only two hours per day on weekdays. Camp hosts were friendly as usual, we made friends with some folks in the group camp. Still a great place to bring the family especially in the cabins (up to 5 people and reserve 9 mos in advance) which have hot water showers and toilets.

Amanda Murray

Drove several hours to camp at this park and am very happy we did. Well maintained and beautiful. A couple miles of nice walking trails, access to the river including sandy beach. Friendly camp hosts and great nice amenities. It was nice and quiet (of course it is earlier in the season and not very busy). I wouldn't hesitate to go again.

Joseph Frank

Wonderful park. Nice private RV spots. Trails to river and fields. Great for kids and dogs!

Love2dance 300

Great place for dogs if you keep them on a leash

Casey McDowell

I liked it. Next time we plan to use the group sites.

Diane Story

We really enjoyed the beautiful campground next to the Snohomish river. Sandy Beach even. Well maintained with large sites. We will go there again this year. FYI reservations go very fast so book months even a year ahead.

Michael Bates

Love the park....staff is friendly and helpful!

Monte Saxby

Group campsites are really nice and the cabins are very clean and quiet! Great place for a not too far get away

Katrin Haertel

The park is beautiful and well maintained, there's a nice playground for kiddos and trails galore!

Nick King

One of my all time favorite camp grounds. The sites are clean and the location is remote enough that it's never too crazy

Fishy GTA

Awesome place to have my daughters little wedding!

Rahul Srivastava

Good state park as base for North Cascades. We went to Diablo lake from Rasar park. The river is great and kids had a lot of fun playing in the water. It’s a small park and hiking is OK. Good park to have a bike and ride around.

eva molina

My family and I have been going for 3 years now with our group which have been for 30+ years and it's a Amazing experience.. Great spot with amenities and not to mention has something for everyone including the kiddos which is wonderful! We have definitely started a lasting tradition in my family!

Michael Furrey

Spent a night in one of their campsites. Very quiet and peaceful. No cars or city noise.

Clyde Cain

It's a peaceful place to take ur family

Deana M.

Very well kept park with nice walking trails.

Janet Smith

This is a wonderful 20 year old campground. Each site is fairly private and paved and can accommodate larger RV's. Great playground for children as well as an ADA trail down to field and into woods to the river. The rangers and hosts are happy to help and answer questions. The shelter has a large rock fireplace to enjoy if it isn't reserved. Great for family gatherings...back out the entrance and across the road is the group camp areas that, also, have wonderful shelters. There are 3 cabins with covered porch, Adirondack chairs and fire pits. Bring bedding and bath towels for showers. The cabins are lovely but do not have a stove or refrigerator. They are backed up to woods and are quiet. Book ahead. They are popular.

Yassmeen A

Beautiful park. Nice place to hike and go for a stroll. Clean grounds. Obviously well maintained. Very quiet too. We came on a Sunday and we only saw 4 other people. Lots of huge older trees which are so beautiful. I would come here more often if I lived in the area. The restrooms are the newest and cleanest I've ever encountered in a public park! They are also near the parking lot. You need a discovery pass to visit this state park. You can also purchase one on site if hadn't done it online prior to your visit.

SUSAN HOLLIDAY

We will have to stay there in the future. We were just visiting. We'll kept, nice trails and evening programs.

Bonnie Yunker

My friends and I rented a group spot had a fabulous time and have already booked again for next year

Tim Finnell

This is an extremely well kept state park, with a very friendly staff. Fills up fast so be sure to get a reservation

Tessa Holt

The Skagit river is the best place to be very swift so you must be cautious but beautiful.

Ben Reneau

Beautiful place lots of trails and the river is absolutely beautiful

Joanne Baker

Great park, clean campsites, clean bathrooms, well marked trail to river and quiet. Nice campground hosts.

Yhali Gat

Great beach!! We had a nice walk there

Angella Lancaster

So peaceful here and the ranger and staff are very welcoming

Rachelle Borries

We really enjoy staying at the cabins here. Beautiful park with river, playground, and clean bathrooms.

Katie Longmire

Beautiful camp grounds, friendly campers and really fun trails to explore! Bring some serious mosquito spray though, they were so relentless that without the Deep Woods Off we would have left before we got the tent up. Showers in the women’s bathroom weren’t working, so a couple of days saturated in bug spray and no way to wash it off made this a 4 star visit instead of 5.

Linda Smith

Nice campground, great for families.

Raquel Frazin

The pet friendly cabin was the most perfect and affordable cabin for us!! Loved our stay. Will be back!

Mag Mag

Great park. Was hardly anyone there for two days last week when we camped. Very clean. Nice trails. Surprising to see a sandy beach on the river, and the water color was so nice too. Really quiet too. Would come back again without a doubt.

JoAnn Hinther

Stayed the werkend for a group trip. Great location!!

Kathleen Smith

2019 Camped here 8 nights. Still immaculate and beautiful. Met Jeni and she was very helpful and personable and busy keeping park clean. 2018 Camped here three nights and extremely pleased with experience. Park Hosts, Patty and Daylon very helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable about park and system. Beautiful campground with wonderful sites, immaculate landscaping while still remaining natural. Cabins amazing!!! Bathrooms very clean, dump station well maintained and park aide very pleasant and helpful. Ranger Brandon professional, courteous, knowledgeable, sensitive to campers needs and very pleasant to talk with. Day use also well maintained and beautiful with awesome playground for children. Lots of good hiking trails and close to the river

J S

This park is beautiful. There are amazing red cedar trees so tall you can't even get them into a photo. Lush fern line shady trails. Blackberries grew abundantly along the Skagit River.

frank huff

Excellent place to camp if you have a large group. 1 pavilion, 10 campsites, running water, electricity: 4 days $1300.00. about $30/per camp spot/per night. Well worth it.

Benjamin Reinhart

Beautiful scenery in a lush and comfortable camping area.

ARA

Beautiful park

Nora Jordin

Very well maintained... the campsites are big and private at least ours was #23. Camp volunteers were very helpful.

Sarah Benoit

Beautiful setting, comfortable walk-in campsites, very courteous staff. We stayed Friday night through Sunday afternoon and tent camped in Site 39, one of the walk-in sites. Very comfortable, clear spot for the tent. There were four of us, three adults and a child and we all had a great time. Restrooms were clean and well stocked. They were about 200 feet from the site we stayed at. Site had a fire ring with lift over grill and a picnic table. Entry to site had potable water, trash bin and recycling. Peaceful. Park was relatively full but it was still very quiet and enjoyable. The sandy beach was great to lay on and relax and the field was wonderful for kite flying. We also drove the 20 minutes further east to Rockport State Park and did the 3+ mile hike through the old growth forest. All in all and amazing place and a wonderful little trip.

Caroline Proulx

Spectacular state park with lovely new cabins, complete with running water, a bathroom, and a shower. Super quiet and peaceful in mid May. The camping spots look nice too. A gem!

Jacqueline Hamilton

Great park! Trails and playgrounds and everything you need

Tena Hastings

Clean bathrooms, beautiful scenery all around the park!!

Mark Johnson

Short 1.2 mile hike loop from parking lot down to skagit river along river then through the meadow....we live in such wonderful place

Abby Greenwood

I have never camped here but driving through it is like driving through the Sherwood forrest. Beautiful. It is not real visible and the signs on the main highway are vague at best. You have to know where you are going otherwise you will get lost looking for it...

Chris Grounds

One of the best gems in camping. Close to home but far enough from everything.

Abdur Rehman

Can't beat the group camp site facility here... It has everything! Nice big field, electricity, clean bathrooms, showers, hikes, and a river front

Greg Wilson

Excellent bike trails and secluded camping spots!

Joseph Rasmus

Love camping here, it's been a few years, but still a great experience

Nanaymie Godfrey

It is the place I go to to collect my thoughts. Peaceful especially on off peak tourist occasions. My favorite place in the world.

Samantha McDougle

Love this place! Generally we come here for the trails. They are nice and have some wonderful views including some views of Sauk Mountain. Easy access from the trails to the campground, which we plan on staying sometime. Great river access too.

James Gordon

I love this park. Something magical feeling about it late at night. I'd recommend this place to anyone. Although the showers are a little spendy I think. Could also stand to be able to have hot showers after 10 pm. I'm not sure why they turn it off at 10. We are paying for the shower weather 10 am or 11pm. I like to shower at 2 or 3 am sometimes. Less traffic in and out and more hot water. Oh well. Can't win em all.

Vladimir Nemirovsky

Beautiful very well maintained grounds. Campsites were large and private. Few short and easy trails go to Skagit River.

Corrie Ault

Great group camp sites

Chad Sherman

Great place to walk and enjoy life

Ave Kemper

A little bit of everything, woods, meadow and river bank. Took my daughter's senior pictures up there, it was great.

Operator 4307

My wife and I's first camping trip together was to Rasar State Park. It was a wonderful trip with plenty of sights. We loved the trails and getting around there. The park staff at the gate were super friendly, even offering to bring our firewood out to our car for us. The trails that run through the park are great to hike on and the river views from them are amazing.

Lisa Sotelo

We just visited and fell in love. We will definitely be back soon. The park is immaculate and has everything you would need and more.

Tiffany Duvall

Nice place to walk your dogs. It is clean and safe.

Dana Monahan

It's beautiful and relaxing

Lisa Salazar

Very well maintained even in winter. Nice, heated bathrooms. Pay showers take quarters where other State Park campgrounds use tokens. Just good to know .

Jeff Mattson

Rented one of the three cabins, two more are under construction. Great accommodations, the cabins have indoor restrooms, with a shower (bring your own towels). Electrical outlets available in cabin and outside in the front of the cabin. Brought a small folding table and cooked all our meals outside under the cover. (Cooking not allowed in the cabins). Cabins have a kitchen sink with storage cabinets, propane space heater, propane on-demand water heater and ceiling fan.

This park is simply gorgeous. They have so many things to do and see, really worth the trip! Ample parking and camping space for all sorts of camping, from pup-tents to class A RVs they can accommodate. Also they have great amenities, bathrooms and hot showers that are open later than a lot of other parks. - The park staff is friendly, informative and patient. Great trip!

dvousley

Rasar campground is a a great campground. We had some confusion on our part when registering, but Park Ranger , Brandon, helped us get things squared away.Very Cool. Also , Sam, a park worker, was very friendly and helpful. The Campground and bathrooms are kept clean. The only real issue was the Mosquitoes. Bring some Deep Woods Off and some Citronella and run a fire all day because they are, apparently, especially bad this year. Also, When we were there the park was pretty full and the kids in the next camp treated the campground road , like a playground, with scooters and bikes. I guess we're getting old? We'll go back..

Erin Moehring

Lovely state park. On the smaller side. There's a little bit of something for everyone. Loved the riverfront beach, and the field trail was gorgeous.

Mark&Nan Tiberio

Church Family Camp! Fun time with family and the Creator of all!

Terry Beeler

Incredibly beautiful park

Jonathan Dueck

Nice state park - easy walking trails throughout the park - playground is good for the kids too. Visit the river with sand toys and a blanket! The campground is super quiet after last light and makes it so peaceful and easy to sleep at night! We’ll be back to explore more hikes nearby

Sam Parrish

Really clean restrooms, clean park and great staff.

strong122

I love chillin and biking there with friends checking out the trails and taking great pictures in the meadow love the emerald green river. Though i wish to see more trails to be made. And perhaps hiking/mountain biking trails.

Ryan Baker

On the expensive side at $30 to pitch a tent. Otherwise a nice, clean campsite. Stay in the walk in sites for $12. Otherwise if you don't need a shower continue down the road to the national forest for cheaper camping.

Chasinda H

Beautiful park, wonderful part of the river to pan for gold. Saw some big flecks of gold sparkling in the sand.

Roelof Nel

Beautiful wooded campgrounds on a river bank. Many hike's inside the parks borders. Great group sites

Jeremy Moss

State Park with hiking trails, a playground for the kids, big grassy fields, and a river with a sandy beach! Camping here was pretty alright, no little creatures to worry about aside from the odd chipmunk or Raven. We were able to leave food on our table and nothing came to eat it! Definitely worth checking out if you haven't been here before.

Tom Coates

This is one of my favorite state parks. Immaculately kept with modern facilities. Great for tent or RV camping or just for day use.

david lee

Nice shelters and excellent Bathrooms with HOT Showers.

Kym Fedale

Very cool spot!

Daniel DeBroeck

beautiful with great trails for young kids. river is too fast for swimming (and cold), the the beach has sections of sand and rock

Sam Kaplan

Beautiful hikes, close to Skagit river, extremely well-maintained camp ground.

Amin Shali

This is a great park. One of the best parks in the state. Playground for kids, close to river. Lots of nature to soak in. Quiet. Good staff. Very well kept. The campsite all looked nice. The cabins are amazing I think. One of the best state park cabins I have ever stayed in. Cabins are big. Shower, bathroom, sink. Good privacy. Overall they have done a pretty good job with cabins. Both campsite area and cabin area has showers and bathrooms and playground for kids. They even have a court for volleyball(bring your own net).

Tadgh B

First I want to say that the Park host we had was amazing!! There were no rangers on site after he left. We found one cleaning person and that was it. The park was beautiful. The site we had was great (37). There was plenty to see and do while we were there. Bring bikes and great hiking shoes. The problems we had were after the weekend. The park host was on to his next assignment and the rangers were nowhere to be seen. This means that we could not buy firewood( something they want you to get from them and not bring in and you can't harvest yourself when there. THEY ALSO CHARGE 7 DOLLARS FOR A TINY BUNDLE), it also gave us no recourse when two needle using drug addicts came in to shoot up next to the bathrooms in their car. Or when a homeless man went into the bathroom and shaved himself and broke one of the showers because he was trying to take the coin box that operated the hot water in the shower. Which is another problem. There was no one to get coins from or machines for change to take a shower. Every other State of Washington Park we have been to has at the minimum a machine for change so we can get shower coins. The homeless man left the bathrooms a mess. We had to scare off the drug users and this caused us concern since we have 3 young children. The park needs to have a ranger on site. Period. We knocked on every door at the ranger station. This is not a park I will visit again. We left two days early and lost the money we paid for the site since they do not do refunds. Not that anyone was there to help. It is sad to see Washington State mismanage its park system.

Isia Deno

Although this site seems right off the highway it feels very removed. There is a very short hike that is handicap accessible that will take you down to the Skagit river. Do not forget the bug spray as the mosquitoes here come in packs and will not think twice to eat you up. I would definitely stay again. 4 stars because the mosquitoes were pretty thick

Adam, Eric, Debra, Steve

Nice old growth trees. Needs a trash dumpster next to sewer station.

Joseph Land

Kelsey McMahon

Jay Bulworth

Great place to go for a walk or an easy camping trip

Robert Breisch

Ive camped here many times just to see the herd of Elk that grazes nearby frequently! Its a very well designed and maintained park, for both day use and camping. State of the art bathrooms also!

Tarn Ohana

Rented a group camp site here for a large wedding and reception. The site and park is excellent, in mint condition, and very well appointed. The camp hosts and the rangers are wonderful. The setting is stellar.

Tony Aguayo

Beautiful quiet spot, well of course the families and kids are enjoying themselves and having fun, so you will hear their joy and lafter, music to my ears. But if you don't like kid's and or teens having fun, well you may want to try some other place, as far as I'm concerned is a wonderful place. I was actually sitting by the river reading a book.

Brian Wheeler

Clean sites, clean bathrooms, also the guy at the booth was extremely helpful. A great place to explore easy trails and river access with a clean beach.

Kay Joubert

Beautiful, quiet park. Great for dog walking and scenic views of mountain peaks. Easy Skagit River access for people and dogs.

Merritt

Rasar is one of my family's favorite state parks! There are 3 miles of groomed walking trails, a cool playground, and beautiful cabins for rent. We usually stay in the cabins, and they've been a fun place to go all year round. One of the cabins accommodates a dog, and so I get to bring my furry best friend to enjoy the woods and Skagit river.

Hassan Sayed

I went camping there in July of 2018. It’s a very nice campsite with a lot of privacy between Adjacent campsites, clean bathrooms and showers. The campsite is about 3-5 minutes walking distance from the Skagit River, the river was cold, however, an amazing place for swimming, the water is exceptionally clean with a very nice sandy beach. Highly recommend visiting Rasar State Park. Will be back.

Robyn Deboer

Great place to camp or Enjoy for the day.

Geoff Baker

Beautiful short walk through old growth, and access to river and a beach.

Bean Sprout

It's absolutely beautiful and the trails are well maintained. There are beautiful field areas for games and sports, lovely cabins and playgrounds for the children and very nice group picnic areas. The park offers nearly everything! I'd visit again

Scott Boze

Great campsites, but no full hookups. Nice walking trails, kids playgrounds, friendly staff.

Julie Aulava

Beautiful spot and nice trail to the river.

Juan Li

Great place and extremely friendly staff, visited their a few days ago and my father had accidentally booked something I cannot remember the name of having three sides and an open side, make sure to double check! The picnic tables were amazing and the quiet nature was impeccable.

J Young

Having only used the day area several years ago, we were not sure what to expect. We found the ranger friendly and informative. We camped on a loop in space 8. There is enough foliage and trees that allow for plenty of privacy at each site. The site was clean, level and spacious. We were allowed to use our propane fire ring. That's always a plus. It's a bit of a walk to the river where there is a little beach. We love the old growth and found time to go enjoy Rockport SP as well. We found it odd to hear a sheep baa-ing in the park. He was camping with his people and a dog. LOL. Every evening after the ranger left a truck w extremely aggressive dogs would come to use one of the showers. These dogs showed aggression to people w dogs and people w/o dogs. Had they got out of the camper shell w it's a plywood tailgate held shut w a bungee cords someone's pet or someone would be sure to get hurt. Other campers said this had been going on for awhile. It's a spooky situation. Beware. Overall this was a pleasant experience for us. We will come back.

Steve Adams

This is the best park as far as different things to do in the area. I might be a bit biased because my oldest daughter and I spent a lot of time here. You can do a lot here like hike trails, play on the pretty decent playground and go down to the river that has a nice sand bar where we used to build huge sand castles and occasionally cool off in the water by just wading. Now my oldest is 19 and we just got back from going and checking out camp sights for her and friends to camp this weekend. I'm going to bring my youngest daughter up there for her first time this weekend and she is 2 1/2 so I'm starting her young also
