You will see the reviews of people like you who are purchasing the products and services of Rainbow Falls State Park (Park) in the area close to Washington.
Currently this firm receives a rating of 4.3 out of 5 and that score is based on 266 reviews.
As you can read, the average of ratings is quite good, and it's based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we may say that the assessment is very credible. If people have bothered to rate when they are pleased, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to put reviews when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Park is included in the category of Campground.
Nice trails for kids and the Dog. Make sure to download the map before you go.
Great for shoulder season camping, very quiet, clean and lovely. The heavily wooded campground might feel gloomy in the rain, but is wonderful in sunny weather! The falls are pretty any time, very accessible if you are not disabled... Extensive walking trails are in a separate section of the park, across the highway. Very pleasant!
Can't wait till they finish remodeling
Beautiful river and falls nice walking trails to
Very dirty water. Waterfall is super small. Would not recommend unless you are interested in spending time with a lot of little dogs and little kids. Small walking trail about a half mile
The park was nice. The falls were ok. Could have parked on the side of the road and saved $10.
This is one of the most beautiful parks I've been to. The campground is kept spotless. The restrooms were very clean and well kept. I would recommend to anyone that a stay here will be awesome.
There's not really a "falls" just an opening in the rocks with a bit of a rapid. There's a highway just across the little creek. The traffic noise ruins any charm. The charge of $10 for the day use fee is about $9 too much. Absolutely not one of WSP's best offerings. A skip next time around.
This campground is nice. It has a large field with lots of charcoal grills and picnic tables. The campsites are well maintained. Don't be misled by the name of the campground. There aren't any waterfalls, instead the are some cool rappids. Also the river is very deep just be careful of the jagged rocks.
This is amazing place to visit they also have camping sites.
I love this beautiful place. I will come again
There was no falls but it was pretty
photos are from the pull over spot along the road, actual park is across the way & looked like there was a hiking trail across the opposite side.
Love our family picnics there
It has such a nice waterfall!
Most sites have more space and privacy than is typical for state campgrounds. The canopy of old growth trees and seasonal vegetation creates a primarily shaded environment but the large open playing field and river are full sun except for the outer edges. There is a tiny little playground for very small children: short, metal tube slide, single tire swing that is barely above the ground and low climbing platform. The nearby Willapa Falls trail is part of a larger trail system and is a great sunny walk.
Old growth timber along the River..very very peaceful...clean showers & bathrooms...picnic / BBQ family park built 1935 log cabins...Beautiful Park!!
Its okay. I wouldn't call it a "falls" but its a nice stream. Pretty, picnic and grill areas. Bathrooms are clean and its to far for the professional bums to come camp, trash it and cover it with needles.
Nice wooded trails but not at same location as falls. Very quiet
Nice little campground! But the "falls" are really disappointing, so don't expect a beautiful waterfall. It's just some rapids.
Decent area with trails and a little out dated kids play ground with bathrooms. Small campground.
Nice, well kept campground. You can tell campground staff take pride in this facility. I did not see pull through camp sites but could have missed seeing them.
Rainbow Falls State park is absolutely beautiful and the perfect place to take kids. We did a group family camping trip and it was fantastic. Word to the wise though, there is a river you can walk to but you must be vigilant with small children especially those that can not swim . The water drops off right at the edge of the water in most areas and there are very few places little ones can play safety. Also there are only 4 showers in the whole camp grounds which. It did not turn out to be much of an issue but we did aim to shower at times we figured people would be busy. Coin operated showers. We camped all week and parking is $10.00 a day so probably a better idea to buy the Discover pass for $30.00 and get free parking every place in Washington like this than to buy parking for just this place daily. Much more beneficial. We really had a great time walking trails and playing in the river. It's a great quiet place to camp. Loved all the foliage separating the sites so you got a lot of privacy too.
Spent 3 days at the park.. GREAT, GREAT time. Beautiful spacious sites. Very very nice state park for families and very fun for the kiddos. Hiking, biking, great swimming in the river. But I have to admit. The park host. Katie, is what makes they stay the best. She is the nicest, caring, and most sincere person. We will be going back to that park every year from now on. Highly recommend to all. And hopefully Katie will still be hosting.
Beautiful area, you will love to stay there. You can even go fishing, swimming, etc...
The fees the park requires camping here keeps the "kids" from showing up to drink, as I have experienced in other parks. Camp spots are spacious for the most part, restroom/shower clean and well heated in the cooler months. We had a fantastic stay
Had a great time swimming in this River and jumping near the small Falls. It is also a camping area with a great big open field where people were smoking pot smelled up the area. It is illegal to smoke pot in public. We also went on a short pretty Trail.
Great family fun place that accommodate smaller units if you have a trailer
I live a half mile away from Rainbow Falls and take my German Shepherd there almost every day. The pools above the falls are perfect for him. He loves it. I love it. It's never too crowded and it's beautiful to boot. 5/5!
So we went during the week and it was not very busy but the bathrooms were under construction and the two honey buckets they had in the mean time were nasty... the poop was filled to the rim!! There was no park ranger or camp host there to talk to until like our 2nd or 3rd day. When I got back I emailed to see if any one would get back to me and they have yet to do so.... it's been a month. So just bring your own toilet paper and bucket.
There was a very nice visit we had a wedding there and the park was very accommodating the bed saying was it rain cold but that's not their fault
Nice little park ( could clean the bathrooms more)
It is a beautiful park with a play field and camping sites. It is right on the river which makes it a great place to visit for a dip to beat the heat. A place I love and have been to almost every summer!
Great day park near town. Don't come here expecting a large waterfall because it's not. However the falls are awesome and peaceful to sit or swim by. Walk up river for some privacy. There are camp sites availabke with well kept bathrooms. Playground for the kiddos. The Willapa trail leads right to the park if you are looking fpr a good walk or bike ride.
Very nice and quiet Campground with close access to Trails water and not far out of town for the little things you forget to pack for camping
Gorgeous place to spend a sunny day! There are several places to jump in the river! Make sure you have a discovery pass & carpool or you have to pay a day free per vehicle.
Incompetent Staff seemingly unaware of their own operating hours. Turned people away who had reservations while allowing others to enter with no working showers? Their well dried up?
Stopped in for a quick nap, wonderful atmosphere
Peaceful, and very relaxing, nice trails to walk along the river..
Nice State Park. Only one small bathroom with one shower stall to serve about 50 camping sites though.
The place is beautiful, could use some trail work and signs
Amazing place...loved the river and the park was one of the cleanest I have ever seen. Spacious sites and the host (Katie) was amazing and made the stay even better. Highly recommended!!!
I see a few negative reviews which I disagree with. There is some highway noise, however, it's minimal. The park is well maintained with lots of trash bins and each campsite has access the water spigots. Some of the sites have power for the RV's.
Wear shoes. Lots of glass
Great place to relax with friends and family. Good sites and quiet. Little bit more expensive than some of the other state parks
Couldn't find a trail so we just went in the fields and played in the snow which was just as much fun.
Well I have to say this was the Most Disappointing "Falls" I have ever taken my family to! Firstly, when you get to the park... NOBODY Knew where the falls even were... finally I found a printed out sign titled Where are the Falls? It gave a sort of confusing explanation of where to go... so we followed the trail all the way to the edge of the park boundaries. Finally turning back I saw the bench, where the sign said we would come to for the 'perfect view of the falls'. So we get there and find ourselves looking at a river sort of flowing over a big rock... it looked like a 'rapid' to me.. waterfall most definitely NOT. This is my boys looking at the 'falls'. What you see in the background is supposedly Rainbow 'Falls'
Quiet setting with large sites and shade trees. Swim in the river. Enjoyed our stay. Well kept common areas.
I want to die here it is the number one place to take your family on vacation love the staff and the many options the park has for you it's like the Disneyland of state parks I will be back !
Very pretty, and quiet. Tucked away a bit, with plenty of fish in the areas you can walk by on the river.
Despite the flooding that’s happened in the past this is still a very nice park and deserves a look. I do wish however that they’d fix the bridge from the main highway but you can still go in the back way over another bridge that’s down the road a little bit so yeah I say check it out and walk a few of the trails. The falls are as pretty as ever and a very short walk from the actual park itself.
Great place to visit, I grew up in the area. The falls have pretty much disappeared since the 2007 flood. Also this is on the Chehalis river not the Skagit river.
The park is clean with lots of shade. Bathrooms were clean and freshly painted. If you're going to Wade in the river you may be disappointed as there isn't great access. Be careful climbing down.
It was very nice
Very nice place lots of spots to camp and plenty of trails will be going again soon.
Clean park and campgrounds.
The state burn ban took half the fun away. Stories around the camp stove is not only lame but a waste of fuel. During the day visitor's can tell the state park system want people to enjoy the outdoors. There was a ball diamond, a big toy brand playground set up which was sturdy and nail free. Multiple picnic awnings, very clean restrooms and in northwest fashion multiple containers for trash and recycling. No veteran's discount which I thought was ashame and cost a star. Kinda makes national parks more appealing to out of state visitors.
Small State Park with easy access to the Willipa Hills Trail.
Was a great park for our group for years! The new rangers and policies are terrible. The rangers are rude and very unfriendly. We won't be going any longer! Group site was full of garbage and we picked it up when we got there. They have ruined a good thing and we were a peaceful little group!
Okay park. The actual falls are a little treacherous to get close to. Be careful parking here. There is no attendant at the post usually. They invest their resources into writing tickets instead of welcoming you at the entrance.
Well kept. Quiet. Easy access to the falls.
Nice out of town spot
Beautiful place
Been coming here since I was a child. Wish they would bring the foot bridge back. Such a great place for a picnic and family time.
Cool park. Good place to walk dogs. Google maps took me to the wrong side of the river. Had to back track 2 miles and cross a bridge to get to the actual park. Have a discovery pass or pay the day fee. Great park I will frequent it more this winter and probably more during summer.
Great little park, spacious campground in the trees, some highway noise in the park. Due to the walking bridge being washed out the park is technically divided in two parts. Somewhat annoying to have to drive to access the walking trails. Direct access to the Willapa Hills trail though!
We call over the phone and booked us in a very small site. Very accommodating helper name Katie spoke to the range and help us get a bigger site. Katie was very friendly and helpful at all time. The reason why we be back.
Very nice place to camp and swim
lovely park...we we're not prepared for the snow so we did not go on much of a hike but it was something that we will look forward to doimg in the Spring!
Lovely campground! Full of shade and nice trails.
Great Disappointment! A little sliding rock! Not a waterfall! Definitely no rainbows!
We had an awesome time camping with friends and jumping into the river!
Awesome trees! Cool place for a short hike.
Very nice. Had a great time. The beer even seems colder there. :)
We had a lot of bees all over our site, restrooms ran out of t.p. all night. Other than this, beautiful location.
We were day use., and spent a few hours here. The field and play area were fun for our pup and kids. The only trail we could find was a loop around the park that followed the river and streams. It's nice, the staff is pleasant. Probably good for stretching your legs if you need a break while traveling I-5.
Nice park, limited water acess, good stopping point for the Chehalis-Wallapa Bay trail.
We had a better time wandering through the campground than looking at the falls. They were quite the let down, there is no fall to the sapposed falls. The falls on the way to Mt. Saint Helen's are 100 times more impressive and peaceful. Even Tumwater falls are way better.
Very expensive , but very cool place to camp.
Cute place, nice area to walk around. And there is a waterfall!
Cute place for a small nature walk with kids.
Really pretty little park. Day use and pavilions with normal park services, and camping for tents and RVs, with some utility spaces available.
Nice short hike. No garbage. Well maintained.
There is actually no falls just a small river or large creek, but the walk while looking for the falls is great. The bathrooms are big wheelchair accessible and very clean. The camping spots all though very few are spacious and very clean.
Not a bad place to come for a short walk with the family. Not a big park, but adequate enough. Discover Pass is required here but they don't have the machine to buy the daily or annual pass. It looks like people have to use a drop box to pay for the use. On the bright side, the drive to the big open field area just got repaved with asphalt.
I took 4 kids to this park for day use and none of them wanted to leave (ages 1 to 10). The park itself was clean. We didn't use the playground we all went strait for the river. We used a shallow area near the lower falls for wading and the …
It is more likely called a river rapids than a falls but it's nice and peaceful to chill and hang out. Lots of trail and big open space for dogs to run
Absolutely beautiful! Playground for the kids, big open field, trails to hike, river to play in. Bathrooms are decently kept up - showers take tokens that get you 3 minutes of hot water. Each token is 50 cents. Bring bug spray - mosquitos are around even in the day time. Beautiful place to stay with lots to do.
I've been there 2 times before the first time was late summer and it was a creek going though there..the second time it was the middle of winter and there was water every where..so this time it was really cool..the camp grounds where surround ed by woods. The closest thing to camping I've seen in any park...lots of fun...
Beautiful. Clean. Great place to have a group picnic or family time. The falls are okay. The drive to the park is nice through small towns. My mom could take her walker in the path. We walked from the parking lot to the falls. It was nice side trip for lunch and to see the area.
Nice clean park, can't wait to stay again
Absolutely beautiful camp ground. Bathrooms close by for your convenience. We had to drive to Pe Ell for wood because the camp host wasn't around but it was worth it. I would totally go back.
Love swimming in the more than 15' deep pool below the falls. Love jumping into the tell rush out going from the falls. Love the big old growth trees
Rainbow Falls State Park has easy access, good car park, clean toilets and the trail along the old rail bed is an easy hike with nice rural scenery.
Run down and the garbage cans were sky high wouldn't stay again
Great nature walk and has some good spots for swimming or fishing. Offers camping and showers too. Not as well kept up as 10 years ago but great for camping and family.
I wish there was a way to get across the river to the walking trails without driving.
Nice park not dirty not overly crowded nice waterfall great family atmosphere. Didn't want to pay 10$ so parked on the main road at the suggestion of our 10$ savior. Glad to see nature staying nature and not trashy.
Even in winter, clean, well managed area, hot showers and easy access...
Love this place more and more every year!!
Classic state park that has spacious campsites. Bonus points for the nostalgia!
It's a lovely park however when we asked a young lady who worked there about utility campsites, she told us one that wasn't one. We looped around and luckily found the only one left. I think the lady was in a hurry to get off as it was closing time for them. It was cool though we still enjoyed ourselves.the price wasn't to bad either. The river is very nice but space is limited plus you want to be careful about the shoes that you wear there, some parts are rocky while other parts may be slick. I would give more stars if the lady that we asked about the site would of been a little more helpful as well as sand fleas were off the hook, that was seriously a drag.
Our first time at Rainbow Falls State Park. Planned on going kayaking, as we were told over the phone that the river was accessible for that. However the small area we did find, was very a difficult walk to get to, let alone trying to do it while carrying kayaks. The park is advertised as having "3,400 feet of freshwater shoreline." Trying to figure out where. Since we weren't going kayaking, we thought about going on the the trails. But they haven't been accessible from the park itself since a bridge was washed out in 2007 and never replaced. We were told to drive back out to Hwy 6 and find a turnout and park to access the "miles of loamy trails (that) wind through the forest and along the river." There is Willapa Hills State Park Trail, that is accessible directly from the park. It is described as "a rails-to-trails fixture that goes over trestles and bridges, through forest, farmland and tiny towns." However you do have to cover the 22 miles of the trail to see all that. We did walk the trail from our campsite for about an hour, which that section of the trail is basically a straight line as far as you can see. Despite our kayaks staying on our car, we did enjoy ourselves. The campsites are maintained and there are a lot of trees and foliage around. Our campsite was fairly private, when reservations are made indications are made on the 'privacy' levels of each campsite. Restrooms could have been kept up better though. We do plan on coming back, as we are interested in bike riding the Willapa Hills State Park Trail to the little town of Pe Ell, about 5 miles west of the park.
Another nice State Park. The forest is beautiful, much of it old growth. The hosts were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. There is a whole section with trails that we didn't have time to take advantage of, but we'd like to return and do some hiking. Our campsite was comfortable and quiet.
Nice place, better for tent camping. Only 4 rv spots for smaller rigs
It’s pretty enough but “falls” is misleading. Not much to them. Campground offers no privacy. The majority of trails are across the river on the other side of highway 6 and there’s no bridge over the river to get to them. You have to drive around and park on the highway to go hiking. The main entrance to the park is not on highway 6. It’s on Leudinghaus Road. Otherwise it is a pretty place and mostly peaceful other than some highway noise but not much. Good spot for a group event, Scouts, family reunion, etc.
