REVIEWS OF Potholes State Park IN Washington

Darrick Kinney

It's hot in the summer! Great place to camp, fish, relax. Lock up your food at night there are racoons on the prowl!

Scott Wyatt

Great, well maintained facility. Employees really care. It's really best for boaters and picnickers. There is no swimming area.

Michella

Tons of picnic tables, large new park for the kids, Fish cleaning station, cabins, campsites, showers, lots of clean bathrooms, discovery pass or day pass required. There is a boat launch and another spot near the boat launch for kyaks to launch. A nice place with sand instead of the typical rock shores we are use to. The only draw back is there is a TON of trash littered and garbage in the water/shore.

Clinton Pettey

Beautiful area. The lake has many islands to explore, and many many fishing holes to explore.

Tytus Baker

Great camping and fishing

richard bittle

We had a wonderful morning on the lake, fishing was slow but we did catch a nice 21 1/2" trout. The state park is in really nice shape

Tami Merkle

Nice fishing area when the fish are in

Tammy Risenmay

It is beautiful. There are quail, ducks, doves and other birds. There is camping for those who want to stay

Joe Flinn

One of the nicest State Parks I've ever seen. Lots of amenities.

Savannah White

Fun hiking. DOGS HAVE TO STAY ON LEASH AT ALL TIMES. Extreamly beautful. Only down fall is that you have to check yourself and animals for TICKS. TICKS ARE ALL OVER IN THE BRUSH!!

Brandon H

What a wonderful park for being out in a desert! This is a popular spot for water activities as it's situated along side a large reservoir. The trees and open spaces are beautiful. The grass is kept in pristine condition and is better than most parks west of the Cascades. There's plenty of tent camping, RV spots, and even cabins. Sadly, the tent sites are pretty much all dirt without any of the wonderful grass that's in the open areas. The sites do have plenty of trees for shade. The RV sites do have the nice grass. The cabin was nice but no running water within it. Nearest bathroom wasn't far, but was only a vaulted toilet. Nearest bathroom with running water was about twice that distance. The park was very calm and relaxing. We've been twice and look forward to going again in the future. Also, check out the nearby Columbia National Wildlife Refuge.

Rob Campbell

Pretty decent state park, when I went they were running the sprinkler system for over 12 hours, maybe a little overkill. But the upshot is that you do get some nice trees and there are some large patches of good green grass around the park.

Donny Parker

Had so much fun with the kids

Brian Oordt

Nice clean campground! Hope to come back sometime.

C Schreiber

Well laid out RV park, good amount of room between spaces, easy back in, full hook ups, and very reasonable rates. Nice park setting just off the water. I'd recommend it!

Dane Meehan

The park itself is fairly nice. Big spots, good tree placement for hammocks, and lots of shade. The only real complaint about the park is the toilets are unbearably smelly, which I'd imagine is hard to avoid for that sort of open pit toilet in 100F weather. What got me was the noise. Almost every camper around us was playing music loud enough for the whole Park to hear and constantly yelling. There was even an RV parked in the tent camping area (there's a separate rv area) running its very noisy generator for hours on end, presumably to power its a/c. This is a nice place to stay if you intend to spend some time on the lake and don't mind noise, but it's not a place to get away from things.

Scott Snickers

Only downside is the sprinklers. But they are necessary to keep the park nice

Lady Smalls Flores

Fun place to spend with family

Mary Bafus

I Love where I live because of the friends, fishing, golf, water, our house, & our neighbors. It is like Heaven on earth!

Moazمعاذ Gutubقطب

Clean, good services .. and fair price for reserving a spot over the weekend

Matthew Cooper

Very pretty site but not much to do. It's quiet at least and has a nice boat ramp $7 in addition to entrance fee.

Michael Stutz

You have to make reservations really early in order to get a great camping spot. Don't get a dirt spot comma as it's really dusty. They've got a good boat ramp, you can get firewood and ice at the front office, the restrooms are clean comma and 3 minute showers are $0.50.

Jackie Kemper

Every memorial Weeeknd great park

Charity Scamman

Ok site. But not trees over our camp site, was super hot and permanent port a potty for bathroom. Nicer in RV sites were we hung out at family site.

Norm Marsing

My new favorite place to camp

Cheryl Richards

Beautiful in fall

Kerri York

We have been going here for 2 years! Love everything about it. If only there was a swimming area for when it’s hot (maybe a splash pad!)- but kids enjoy the big playground every visit! 18 miles from Moses Lake, 60 utility sites.

Cody Sherrill

Vault toilet and bugs a plenty. Park and the lake is really nice. Staff seemed busy and friendly. Showers are nice.

Cheryl Adams

Lots of trees on the lake. Boat lunch

Dave Hourie

Sun Desert RV Park

Shana McGowan

This place was great! 19 of us went and rented a boat while we were here. Kids tubed and had a blast. The port o pot was a bit much and not very well maintained.

Jan Larin

If you are a boater, fisherman or kayaker, this is the place for you. Unfortunately, we are none of those so this park wasn't a good fit for us. There is only one playground quite a distance from our space. The staff and Ranger were awesome and helpful.

Daniel Matthews

Wide open spaces, refreshing experience with incredible vistas.

Auzzy DuzIt

Good fishing, great swimming. Alot of spots on the water.

Pat Stakem

Ypi would think this would be in a major U.S. City on the East Coast,. but its on a Reservoir. Great hiking and just hanging-out spot. Day-use watersports and fishing. Restrooms.

Scotland Smith

We visited Potholes State Park last weekend and here is the summary of our visit. Our group camped in the state park, site 101. It was a decent spot, all the good ones were taken. We fit two tents comfortably and had 2 vehicles as well. Unfortunately for 2 nights with the extra vehicle it came out to $84!! So it's not a budget campground. That being said. The area is beautiful. There is a hiking trail head beginning in the campground, boat access, and group sites(gorgeous group site, will be reserving that one for big family camps). Mosquitos were a small nuisance until we lit the fire and mosquito coils. The reservoir is 20 feet away from the site. There is a golf course, public hunting and fishing, more campgrounds, the Columbia Wildlife Refuge, and the Moses Lake Sand Dunes and ORV park all within a half hours drive. There was a fishing tournament of some sort while we were there and it was fun hearing all the cheers from the different boats on the water. Loads of fun, and will definitely be going back again soon. Thanks for reading and happy camping!!

Tyrone Phillips

A well kept secret an oasis hidden in the desert

Kip Sele

Very nice views and friendly staff!

Ohshitethatsright Channel

One of my favorite State parks with a wildlife refuge nearby. Hiking, fishing, swimming, hunting, and beautiful veiws. Love this place!

ryan roseburrough

Great Park and good boat launch, wish they would fix kids slide and volleyball area.

MusicMan 655

Pretty great overall, nice fishing, nice river/lake. Really only problem were gnats being everywhere, but if you bring some deet, you'll be perfectly fine.

wanda mitchell

This place in nice and clean, and the lawns are well maintained, and friendly staff. Camp sites are easy in for an RV. You have space in between others. Not like a resort were your almost on top of each other. Would stay here again.

Silvia Cruz

Love love love the park! Clean & relaxing

Lee S. Phillips

Great venue

Joyce Murray

A beautiful campground! Clean and well cared for

John Ambrosino

Nice small state park. Campsites were spacious, easy access to lake.

Nick Smith

Clean, affordable good showers and bathrooms. Friendly staff

Dennis Meloy

Nice campground, well maintained and Wi-Fi.

Susan Culp

Beautiful spacious sites A definite return for us!

Donald Short

A very nice place for camping, boating and just a day trip. Beautiful scenery and a huge lake makes a good way to relax and enjoy life.

Rene Skinner

Nice place, we'll kept, Lot's of areas to fish. Have hook up areas But if you want power and water in summer make reservation.reservations can be made nine months out. Have showers. The only thing they are Lacking is a place to tie your boat off to, so you don't have to keep launching boat Everyday. So they lose a star.. dump site and water.

Cyndi Manka

I don’t get some of the comments here. Been coming since the 70s. My kids were raised here now our grandkids. I’ve never seen the bathrooms closed except when being cleaned “ every morning “. The water has rarely stunk but may get green …

Jesse Gunderson

Stayed in the primitive tent camping area. There is no real camping here. You're in the middle of the noisiest camp sites I've ever seen with absolutely no privacy and tons of traffic. In addition, bathrooms are a pure hellscape and while the park is nice, there is absolutely no swimming or beach area. None, despite what the website says. If you don't have a boat, you're wasting your time coming here. Find somewhere else. We wont be back.

Valori Antle

Nice resort with so many options on lodging. Everything you need is right there with a store, restaurant, laundry, & showers.

Steffany Wolkenhauer

Our family loves this place! It has a large park for the kids with A LOT of picnic tables to accommodate many people. They have primitive sites, full hook up, and cabins. We tent camp in the primitive campsites, $32 a night, which are well maintained & clean with fire pits and picnic tables. Most are level great for tents. Short walk to the park. And most are set up to give decent privacy. I would recommend for anyone, couples, family, elderly. It's a great quiet place to camp!

cat fish78s

Clean state park well kept and friendly staff

sherri henckel

This was not peaceful camping at all. Loud music played all day and randomly in the middle of the night. Park rangers would tell one group to stop playing then someone picked up with the loud music. To camp in a tent it was $30! Not even in a nice spot. The hiking trails were not maintained for an enjoyable hike. There is NO beach or swimming area. I would not consider this place kid friendly because of all the swearing and yelling. Also all the music played was VERY explicit. It all made me rather ill and I couldn't wait to escape. Never ever again!

April Li

Nice place to go camping. If you can, don't book a site on the lake, it has lakefront access, but no shade whatsoever. Get one inside the trees. Being swimsuits. It's super hot, be prepared, and don't step in the muck beside the shore. (Great place for ice cream nearby too.)

vinny donini

Great park to take family to. Camping is great. Seen family of deer on multiple visits. Good fishing lots of opportunities.

Michelle Stocking

The slide on the big toy had a huge crack/hole in it and only an orange cone to keep the kids off of it. If parents are not paying attention the kids can easily go around it. The crack is like a hole and if a kid went down the slide they would probably get cut up pretty bad. The lake was ok. Lots of growing plants in the water and lots of bird poop.

Dimitriy

Had a great time we rented a cabin. Could use some new AC units.

Ben Listiak

Great place, great staff, clean amenities!

Michael K

Quiet at least when I was there despite how close the camping sites were like right next to each other in a circle. Impressively clean showers and bathrooms. Not much to look around though unless you have a boat or other power sport toys.

troy white

Thought it was a very large park and very little activity, great place to launch a boat, picnic, clean fish, ride bicycles, bird watch and camp. The summer time is awesome for exploring the out doors . Lots of places near by to hike.

Jackie Mucha

I love this park! Clean, good sized camping sites with picnic tables and fire pits. The bathrooms are clean and have showers. The day use park and water a walk away and even have toys for kids to play on.

Diana Arellano

Great place if you like to fish. The place is over all beautiful. Coming from west Seattle it was nice to feel the warmth and sun. The hike was small so I woulnt go to much if you want to hike but its a great boating area.

cassandra varn

The camping areas were amazing. The park staff was kind and helpful. It was a great trip!

Jeremiah Lauzier

The park was super nice i was with a group to have some fun for the day and we were camping.....only thing not so cool is the showers cost like some tokens or whatever and i didnt know where to get them in the middle of the night

Jackie Aebly

We've been coming here for over 30 years, leaving with many fond, fun memories...but not this year! Low water, hot temperatures and a mix of fertilizer runoff has created a dangerous green algae growth. We DID NOT get in the water and DID NOT let our dogs in either. Wouldn't even consider fishing here right now. Also, very disappointed with the lack of maintenance in the park. Sprinklers not working correctly , not repaired from last year even, and grounds maintenance lacks a lot, compared to past years. Very, very disappointed!

Kerri

Sunshine and relaxation can almost always be found at Potholes. From biking to fishing there's tons of things to do. Great playground in the park. Newer fish cleaning station by the reservoir. Three boat ramps with a dock. Sites are well kept and a good size. Group camping is right next to a river.

Vicki Hanauer

Pretty campgrounds and clean. Couldn't determine where to go swimming.

corey christman

Great place to swim and fish and have fun

Cassandra Adams

Beautiful! We only spent about a half hour here so the girls could play but I was really impressed with how pretty it is. We will definitely be planning a camping trip here soon

Robert Parks

Amazing beautiful so much fun

Bob Mclain

GREAT campground! Lots to offer a family as well as avid fisherman. All the sites are in cul de sacs with the middle graveled to park your boats or extra vehicles. BIG open picnic area for volleyball or anything else you want to do. Swimming is close walk for everyone. Campsites are roomy with shade and sun.

Becky Elder

Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was that the park ranger wasn't out enforcing the rules very well. Frustrating when you do your part to follow the rules while everyone else isn't. (Dogs on a leash. No longer than 8 feet.) Clean bathrooms, nice park, good boat launch.

Jason Johnson

Great park with camping in tree covered areas and a large waterfront grassy area with a big playground. This is a pretty large and spread out park so we actually drove from our campsites to the day area. There's a very large field for games and a convenience store very close by just outside the gate.

Michelle Nicholson

This park is a little tricky to find if you don’t like driving on major hwy’s like I-90 but Google maps did a good job of helping us find this park using secondary routes. There a modern RV campground with flat spaces that are easy to back into and full hookups, but it is well away from the lake with no views and no privacy. There is also a much older campground on the lake that is only suitable for tents. There is no designated beach area and the lake shore is muddy and weedy. The park is located on a large reservoir and has a good boat launch. There is a nice playground, plenty of green grass and some shade trees. Some of the picnic tables are rather old and mossy. The park is well away from the road and is quiet and peaceful.

Bob Crossley

Great bass fishery as well as walleye.

meri keomphay

Wow, huge, our first time here... lots of things to do. Nice play area for kids, hiking plus pet friendly.

Mary Edwards

Spacious f/h spots. Clean bathroom/showers. Well maintained grass areas and jungle gym. Convenient and well stocked Potholes store close by for morning Espresso/breakfast if necessary. Con: trailer Spaces 1-10 had sewer drainage issues.

Marilyn Blevins

Pleasantly surprised to find well planned grassy, shady sites.

Gloria Alvarado

Beautuful view! Awesome hike!

Cat

It's clean, grass it green.. sites are a nice size

Kelly Englert

This was a very nice campground. Very well maintained.

Travis Olson

Was having a great time, until we woke up to Ranger Brandon peering into our car windows as we slept. Staff was extremely undertrained and when we first got here they had us in a campsite UNDERWATER! We will probably never stay here again since the ranger is a peeping Tom and I have kids.

Connor Pruitt

My family and I have been camping in state parks for over 30 years. We initially enjoyed our first 2 nights at this campground. On our third and final night we were watching a movie with the sound on low. A ranger walked in our campsite and told us there was no electronic sound of any kind allowed after 10pm. We checked and no sound could be heard at the borders of our site. In addition there were no campers on any side of us. This was at 10:20pm. When we asked the ranger about all the people yelling around us, we were informed that was okay because it's not electronic. When we asked if there were any complaints or if it could heard beyond our site he said no. Absolutely ridiculous, we will never come back here again. This occurred on 7-21-2018. If this ranger's commanding officer comes across this, I implore you to teach him some common sense or fire him for gross incompetence. In my opinion, he would be of more use cleaning animal droppings or scrubbing the toilets, at least then he would be useful.

Garcianos

Awesome. Only word I can think of.

Mike Methvin

This is a really nice park, lots of facilities and well maintained with one exception, the fish cleaning station is out of order more frequently than it is working.

Chris Widmer

Amazing evening skies

Kelly

We go here several times a year and always enjoy the park and the people.

Scott Creek

Just used the boat launch. It was in very good shape and has a dock making launching and retrieval much easier. The walk from the launch to the parking area is a very long way causing delays at the launch.

Jake Prater

Real nice me and the family had a lot of fun and the staff at the park where really nice and friendly

Rick L.

Clean bathrooms, great location, tent camping sites are very nice, had huge RV park, has a beautiful day use area, boat launch, the best part is that it is like an oasis in the desert. Also a great fishing area.

eric anderson

I liked this place because it is a unique State Park for Washington State. It is in a desert, but at a lakeside which has crappie, perch, bass, walleye, and trout. In the summer the water is warm for swimming, water sports, and exploring. At one end of the lake there are sand dunes which protrude from the water upon which you can camp or picnic.

David

Not a camper. But nothing to see

Brian

One of my favorite state parks in the middle of the state to visit. The wide open views are outstanding. Bring a boat or go exploring the potholes to the south. Also numerous fruit farms in the area with fresh produce right off the vine or tree. The campground is very green and full of shade. You can not go wrong here on a hot day. Full hook-ups and plenty of space between the sites. Nice metal picnic tables and fire rings set back from the RV sites. Will keep coming back!

Kandice Walker

Terrible management. No rule or quiet time enforcement. Camping spaces crammed on top of one another, no privacy or peace. Lots of loud music at all hours. I asked our neighbors to keep it down at 3 am and the neighbor girl wanted me to come out of my tent so he could fight me... (!?) No on site ranger, camp host doesn't leave their site. Unbearably hot in the summer with very little shade. Rude people. Go somewhere else. We left a day early despite having paid in full. We'll never come back.

Christy Smith

The cabins are basic but the air conditioning is worth the money. Tent sites are good, most are semi private, some are more open. A lot have shade at some point during the day which is nice on hot days. The showers were clean and we had hot water available throughout the day. You need to use tokens which can be bought at the ranger station. For $1.00 you get 2 tokens, each token is for 3 minutes of hot water. 2 tokens or 6 minutes is usually long enough for the average person to shower. We rented the larger cabin that sleeps 6. There is a queen bed in one room with the a.c. unit, and the other room has two sets of bunkbeds (4 twin beds). There is a covered porch and picnic table along with a fire pit also. There are a few drawbacks to staying here. The first being that they ONLY have trash bin/container available at the boat launch. Secondly is that there are ONLY two restrooms with power/showers available. And neither are in the tent/cabin area. One is in the R.V. area and the other is at the boat launch. The other toilets available are basic "pit" toilets in the tent & cabin area's. The third is that there is NO SWIMMING AREA. So if you have children who want to swim do NOT stay here. They do have a large jungle type toy available but no swimming access.

justin cooley

Was told we can't camp on the grass as they water every day from sunday to Thursday and up to noon on Fridays . Burn ban was in effect and was told no wood or charcoal fires. Later was told we couldn't use gas burning items as well so how do you cook anything while camping. Staff was rude and not helpful. My opinion is not to camp at this place at all

Aliah Sweere

Could have closer bathrooms to the campsites. Some of the campsites have shade and some dont. There is also not a lot of grass in the camping area. Other than that, it was beautiful, the sunset was amazing. It was rather quiet mid week when we went at the end of May. Didnt have any issues checking in even tho we didnt make a reservation. They have a nice fire pit in each campsite with a little grill attachment. The park itself, away from the campsites, is also very beautiful and has good shade. There are A LOT of bugs and nats so cover your food always. We left finished steak on a cutting board for 2 mins and it was covered in bugs almost instantly. To be expected near the water tho.

Doug C.

Great place to enjoy family fun or group camping. Park setting has open spaces with some covered picnic tables and shade trees. Boat launches, fish cleaning station, clean bathrooms with showers and swimming area. Across the street are services such as gas station, store (including RV/Camping supplies), pizza, ice cream, deli, boat/jet ski rental, golf and sit down restaurant. Fun for all.

jeremy titus

Had a blast got a mammoth bass using a green and orange crankbait lure

Amanda Chavira

We camped in the big group site. We liked how shaded everything was with the tree cover. The state park seems well taken care of and clean. One thing we didn't anticipate was the depth and swiftness of the creek that runs along side the group site. We had a bunch of kids under 4, which ended up being stressful assuring that they weren't making a break for the water's edge. So if you're camping with littles, just be prepared to be vigilant. There were many fisherman that were on boats in the creek that were bringing in bass, but we weren't able to hook anything from the shore. That was also a bit strange, random people would walk through the site to fish from the bank that was within the group site boundaries. The footprint areas for tents were gravel, so I'd recommend bringing tarps for underneath your tent. Also, BUGSPRAY! The ticks and mosquitos are no joke. The fire pit for the group site is located near the water way off to the side, would've been nice to have it in a more central location away from the mosquitos and temptation for the kids to try to get in the water. The bathroom near the site is a vault toilet. It was in clean working order, but the motion light inside wasn't operating correctly. We had brought a bunch of water floaties and planned to spend most of the time on the beach playing and swimming. But the water quality was a little yucky, and the beach itself had many reeds/vegetation. Not super swimmer friendly. The kids still enjoyed it, though! All in all, Potholes State Park was beautiful and well stewarded.

Clayton Ljungberg

It's no secret that fishing here is exceptional.

Jim Brumback

It was a lot of fun and I will be coming back.

Peter O

This is a great campground on the shoulder season. The full hookup sites are very generous and popular. It would be very easy to have a group campsite without having to book a group site. The lawn, trees and wildlife is really great for campers from the West side who are looking for summer in May!

Marilou DeWoody

Beautiful grassy areas and lots of trees

Jennifer Landacre

Beautiful here and the varieties of birds!! Will be fishing later when it cools down. Cabin with a/c is heavenly. Only thing...no real beachy area, not sure if we will be able to swim. Have to wade through muck in mid July to get to water.

Herman Ortega

Its ight!

Daniel Sudzilouski

Many places to walk around, swim, and fish.

pat

Clean. Nice facilities. Day use area.

Jacob McNeish

Fantastic time

Farias twins

First time visitors and will definitely be back very nice park, bathrooms were withing walking distance and clean, water and electricity in every site.

Paula Peak

Pretty park!

Lou Flyer

Nice, plenty of trees, good for big rigs, with full hookups and is dog friendly. It's a quiet and lovely setting along the river. Glad to have power to run AC on such a brutally hot day. On the down side there are no garbage receptacles in the park anywhere, not even in bathrooms. There is only a central trash masher that everyone has to take all garbage to. You can recycle glass, metal and plastic there. Also the $45 dollar nightly fee is high even though we are a big rig. This cost led to only a one night stay. Feel that even though it's a lovely state park, that if folks can't afford to stay, it's going to stay pretty empty.

Billie Fremont

Lots of options for outdoors adventure. The trails are great and we saw some cool wildlife. Hookups for rv types and cabins for folks that want to upgrade from tenting. You can have fun here and stay in town also.

Don Hanley

I have been to almost every camping park in the system, and this one is like two parts in one...a fancy grass lawn area and a more natural rustic area... Take your pick and pay as you wish...I would give this park a five star except for the rediculous registration system... Your first impression is that the administration cannot trust anyone to run the system... Pathetic.... So you call on a phone to register without seeing your campsite first... Totally rediculous... This ridiculous system is unique too in the system,. Why? Nevertheless please enjoy this nice park.

Joe Sanchez

Great place to stay. Tent camped. Convenient facilities. General store just down the highway.

Russ Purcell

Great camping

Phil Dihel

Their website says there is a swimming beach. This may be true in May, but they don't bother to tell you the water lowers in the summer and it turns into essentially a swamp. No real access for swimming unless you have a boat. It was 103 degrees when we arrived, having reservations for three nights and no swimming access, we decided to cancel the remaining two nights and go somewhere else. I walked nearly a mile to the office at the entrance of the park to talk to the attendant about cancelling. He said he wasn't able to help us with that and I'd have to come back at 10am when the ranger arrived. I called at 10 that morning to make sure he was there before I walked back to the office. The woman that answered said she could take care of it, but only refunded us for one night. I explained to her that their cancellation policy clearly stated that any cancellation within seven days of the reservation is subject to a full refund, less a 20 percent cancellation fee. She told me this was all she could do for me because the system would only let her refund one night and she was not very familiar with how to use it. So I decided to stop by on our way out about an hour later. When I walked in the ranger was there. I explained to him nicely why I was there, but he was stern and not pleasant from the get go. He said they don't give refunds for weather reasons. I showed him their cancellation policy on my phone, but he ignored and continued to repeat that same line. I told him it doesn't matter, I don't need a reason, the policy is what it is and doesn't require a reason. He would not back down and was obstinate and rude. He finally said call the state headquarters if you have a problem with this. I walked out. About twenty minutes later the woman I had spoken to earlier that morning called and told me she had made a mistake with not knowing the system, pushed a wrong button, therefore both nights would be refunded after all. I have a feeling that after I left, the ranger looked up the policy, realized I was right and was hoping to avoid my calling headquarters and complaining, but he couldn't be bothered with calling himself and apologizing, he made her do it. Seemed to be ignorance, incompetence and poor customer relations across the board here. My girlfriend looked up previous reviews on Google and found many similar complaints, mainly about the rude ranger. I do not recommend staying here, unless you are a fan of being talked down to and condescended.

Pinky Croft

The bathrooms are deeply gross.. Day ppl trash the main restrooms.. Showers aren't dog standards.. 4 showers to 200 plus people and the same for toilets.. Facilities seems great to camp ,but if you don't bring your own showers and toilets .Your waiting in lines for both facilities. I don't think the two boys know how to clean either .. They hang out in the camp grounds .

les snyder

Great location right on The Potholes Reservoir. Boat launch & restaurant on site. Mixture of RV sites and park models. RV sites on the West end are new, concrete pads, burn pots small maintained grass areas for each spot, large grass play area with horse shoe pits, basketball court. Price is very reasonable. Watch out for the speed bumps.

Crystal Dawn

Very nice camping and a nice public swimming area that's about all there is to do with this park but it's very beautiful

Kassie Nordlinder

We love this campground. We've done an annual trip with friends and this place is perfect for a big group. Most of the sites have full hook ups which is so nice when you have a bunch of kids with you. Bathrooms are well taken care of and have nice, hot showers. Big park and lots of green grass and pavement for bike riding. We will be back!

Tamara Hagen

Its a really nice park

Javi Maldonado

Good for my first time!!!

richard Graham

Amanda Hensley

Carol Baher

The last time I was here was back in 1968 when I was 4 yrs old and oh how it has change but I hoping to come back next year to be here for when my son comes back up here for his next fishing tournament. The park is very well kept up. I and my family are thoroughly enjoying ourselves.

linda pempeck

Our 2nd favorite state psrk

Rueben Lewis

Nice park but "officer" Erickson is a poor example of a park ranger. We were only there for less than 30 minutes to check out the park since we were thinking of coming back in the future. Pulled into the remote parking to let the dog out. Nobody around, so wanted to give her some exercise after being in the kennel all morning. Yes off the leash, but no one was around that could possibly be bothered. Wrong. He was very bothered by it. He must have been watching us with nothing better to do. Now have to pay a $87 fine. Was going to buy a non-res fishing license, but not now. Never going back there.

One of my favourite state parks.

Very nice park with massive lawns and abundant shade. A great place for flies mosquitoes and bugs to thrive...and they do. Don't forget your repellent.

J Long

Laura Butler

Gaige Sebens

Beautiful park indeed.

There is no swimming area even though the website says swimming is an attraction. The only thing to to here is boat or fish and the party Sat night was loud, however, the park staff works hard to keep things in check. It is beautiful and there are some lovely drives in the area. Luckily we found a good swimming lake about 20 mins up the road.

Park itself is nice and clean and well maintained. They have some stupid policy however where they dont have garbage service in the loops where you park your r.v. They have ONE compactor by the boat launch parking. I had to hike 3 blocks just to dump my trash,..oh except they had recycling by the bathrooms where it would have made sense to keep garbage dumpsters. My other gripe was they clean the bathrooms/showers at 10:30 a.m. so i got no shower in the a.m. when it would make sense to stay open.

Swimming is pretty much non-existent. It's super muddy and planty both on the shore and in the water. It's kind of painful. If you brought a boat, you could go out on the water and swim next to your boat. My kids didn't have a great time in the water at all. But the cabin was great. The A/C works, not well, but well enough for it to be worth having on super hot days. The main bathrooms near the boat launch are very clean and nice. The vault/pit toilets close to the cabins and traditional camping spots are as clean as they could do, but they smell so bad just as one would expect and with no sinks and such. The check-in was via a phone mounted at the entry station, which seemed a little weird. The website said they're open until dusk, but we were there 40 minutes before dusk and there was no one at the station at all. But thankfully (which we didn't know until we arrived) cabin check-in was via phone. They gave us a code to unlock a key box to get the key to get in. The stay was nice. The mosquitos are a bit intense at night, so you might want to bring something to deal with that.

This is a very boating oriented reservoir, but the swimming here is acceptable. The beach is very rocky so bring water shoes! The campsite is really quite lovely, and perfect for families. There is plenty to do here. Great for a weekend trip. If you forget anything, there is a market right outside the park.

Very nice camp ground and lake to boat and fish in. Nice bathrooms with pay showers. Hiking is limited but over all a fun place with cool history.

It's very quiet and it's a smaller park so your not crowded by hundreds upon hundreds of people. My tent campsite was close to another one, and they can be a little close. But there are good tent campsites with some nice vegetation between.

Jessika Duoos

Cute. Great play ground. Pretty lots of shade.

Bryan Hermans

Huge is the word to describe this State park. On the west bank of large Potholes Reservoir the park spreads out. RVs enjoy roomy sites. Trees shade the many sites. Tent camping also enjoys roominess. Three boat launches access the lake. Picnic tables are everywhere. There is a fish cleaning station, showers, restrooms, an innovative playground, volleyball courts, and more.

Randy Washburn

Very interesting place, nice Campground nice area.

Cindy Estep

Great State Park. Love the grassy campsites.

Ahava Goldwater

Beautiful, but not for us.
