REVIEWS OF Paradise Point State Park IN Washington

willa Hurliman

A wonderful place clean well cared for.

Leo Holt

Nice place for quick get away. Just be sure to get away from the freeway lol.

Joshua Monda

Great "entry level" camping for the family. Close to town so you still get cell reception in case of emergency. Only downside is you can hear I-5 as the campground is right off the exit

Denise Rhodes

Great place to stay clean lot of fun stuff. The staf is amazing always helpful. We had a great time I've always felt welcome and they've always go out of their way to help you if they can. Just a great place to go if you're in the area you should try it.

Patricia Flynn

Loved the wildlife and hostess was so helpful

John Risi

Nice area n have shower n power there my friend Heather n Tony n their little boy camp there

Jeff Gauthier

Live little park. Very woodsy. Lots of room to set up a camp. Prices are $30 a day for the full hookup spots. Bring extra boards or wheel chucks to level as the pads are definitely sloped. On site ranger is very nice. Showers are coin operated. Hot water is perfect. Dump on sight is only $5.00. Nice spot to relax.

Alice Scott

We are going to have are family reunions there

Renee Colwell

Its a nice little getaway right outside of the city. A little noisy from the freeway but nothing a group of friends and a nice fire and some smores couldn't tune out.

Tess Spencer-Dresser

We enjoyed the yurt that we stayed in at this park. The river had a nice sandy play area. It was shallow in places so a great spot for our younger kids, but also had places for adults and older kids to swim. The one reason we did not enjoy our stay was the amount of noise you can hear from the highway. It is a pretty steady car noise. It did not feel like being "out in nature" because of the amount of noise.

Steven Edward

Lions, Tigers, and Bears ! Well, just one bear down by the river one morning. Rangers were cool, including the camp host. We didn't get thrown out, so all was great.

Keith Rice

Small, crowded, too close to the highway. But still pretty.

Nathan Skaggs

Camped here and it eas good.. Couldnt catch a fish to save my life

Don Wolfe

My wife and I reserved a water/electrical site for one night to camp with our grand kids this past weekend. We were very disappointed with the lack of quality and amenities for this park. It is located right next to I-5 and the hook-up sites are on the freeway side of the park. Needless to say it was very noisy from freeway traffic at all hours. This park is not child friendly as it is hilly and there are no play structures. The day-use area was located down by the Lewis River and was very primitive...primarily dirt and gravel, only two picnic tables, and no designated swimming/wading area. I have to think that the park in general and especially the day-use area primarily caters to fishermen and kayakers. And despite the lack quality of this park, we were charged the premium rate of $40/night. We have stayed in much, much nicer Washington State parks for less.

Maureen Jennings

The hiking trails were beautiful though hard to find.

Paula Onda Moov

Great staff and good location for a travel break

Chris The Hab

Beautiful state park fewer than thirty minutes from Portland. A few miles of hiking trails along the Lewis River. Some nice walk in camping spots and some RV and car camping places too. It's really very nice here, especially when you get far enough away to ignore the sounds of I-5. There is even a disc golf course! Discovery pass or a fee is required to park though.

Empty Nesters RVing Palomeque

You are right on top of freeway it is super loud. The rest rooms are heated and private and clean. I was very disturbed to see the head ranger refuse to let a paying customer use any of the six private restrooms he closed all the restrooms in the park. it was pouring rain. The man begged him but he said he had to wait until he clean all six rooms. It was ridiculous! You can only clean one at a time it was a total power trip.

Reese Perkins

It was ok if you have little kids because there is a lot of space for them to run and play the only thing that I didn't care for was how close the camping spot are to each other

David Milo

Plenty of amenities and the park is very well maintained, but the spots are very close together and we had other campers walking through our site to get to the campground. There may have also been people squatting in the bathrooms.

Karen Lynn

Very pretty park.

Psychology Zhou

Beautiful park with hidden trails and waterfall and access to river/swimming area. However, I was not able to sleep well at my campsite because it is next to the highway. I was hoping the traffic noise can be blocked by the woods, which they did to some extent, but if you are a light sleeper like me, this may not be the best spot for overnight camping,

Chelle B

A campground worthy to try if you don't mind the freeway noise. It didn't start this way, but when i-5 came to be, the traffic audio pollution is a constant reminder you're in town.If you use a camper you won't really notice it but tent users will. Other than that it's a pleasant, clean, trail&meadow discovery. I saw a lone coyote in the big field. The trail to the falls is nice with land salamanders along the trail. There's a cute bridge and some steep climbs ever so often. A good place to take pictures.

Kandy Farmer

Nice walk by the water.

Brian Gerspacher

Some nice spots to hike and swim before/after a quick overnight stay.

Mike Shepherd

Busy park near metro area. Staff are good. Next to I 5 noisy with freeway noise and exhaust fumes. At night in bed, you can feel the freeway vibration. Which bothered the first, but by second night it was more like a light vibrating message.

Sam Hewes

Great place to go and hang out on a nice day

Andria Johnson

Nice and sunny. But you can hear the freeway the entire time you're camping. Even down at the water. The nice thing is they have lots of picnic areas down by the water. The other thing I liked a lot is you can pick from a walk-in site starting at $12 a night at 2 RV site I believe for $45 night. So they all range in price depending on the site.

Dropdead Hellcat

Always a great time. Kudos for the park rangers as well.

Judith Bailey

Water was great and kids spent all afternoon playing in the sand and water.

Matt Akeman

Great for a trail run, hills challenging but not too tough. Def a little muddy but enjoyed the scenery. Headphones drowned out the highway noise.

Chris Desean

Nice and relaxing if you go up or down stream a oyple football field and just sit in low tide.

Lance W.

Not enough hook-ups.

Anita Younger

Clean. Good sized sites. Not a lot to do. Road noise wasnt too bad.

Joyce B

Good place for camping of just a day trip into nature for a walk

julie hedglin

It's been years since I have been there. Jh

Josh Krull

Overall a good state park to camp at. The lots were nice and clean with a decent amount of room. My main complaint was that the showers require you to pay for warm water which is annoying considering the campground is already a little over priced as is.

Jorge Lopez

A beautiful drive indeed.

Jeff Parker

Great spot for a easy camping!

James Free

Nice campground. Maintained pretty well. Showers are clean. Cheap it's only 25 a night for full rv hook. No sewer hookup though. Close to Freeway which is I-5 so some road noise but it's not to bad at all. I would totally stay here again. Its also ok to show you late in the evening, you just fill out a envelope and drop your money with it in a lock box and your good to pull in and set up.

Joshua Rentz

Goodkind staff understanding patient awesome you can give my kids a little Junior Rangers pamphlet and a wooden brings your bags after you filled it out really cool

ellie hilborn

Great place to put in our kayaks.

Shawn Ostrander

Awesome hiking trails.

Mike Puranen

Really fun disc golf. Water access is convenient

Kelsey Joanne

Had a lot of fun there, it was pretty loud from the free way as other people described ., but by the second night you are used to it . The bathrooms could be remodeled they were just old and looked dirty . Seems like they definitely keep it clean though . I loved that the park rangers drove around the site and ppl were quiet at 10. Wish there would have been a little park for kiddos , but we realized that the swimming area and beach made up for that. Not sure if we will be back there but we had a good time .

Patsy Burge

Beautiful campground there even was a bunny

Tommy French

Lush gardens beautiful place to visit

Andy Chester

20 hook up spots Very small no room to back in fifthwheel. No parking for rvs while trying to register. Any rv over 28' good luck. I wont go back with my rv

Tawney Jorgensen

Loudest campground I've ever been to. You can hear the cars and trucks flying across the bridge all night long.(very loud) Swimming area is so loud from traffic above the bridge it's a bit much for me. Although everyone seemed to have a good time. If your looking for a quiet woodsy place to relax this isn't it. Camp sites are so close together you will have new best friends before you leave. Like I said...if you don't mind a ton of noise and being close to others this is a fun place to go.

dominic Drew

Nice little watering hole, really crowded and loud af if traffics busy. The great part is the great shade and beautiful scenery.

Juliene Bennett

It was confusing as to the camp ground camp spots. For they are not marked clearly. Should put the number of each camp on the table and drive way parking. Nut the camping experience itself was great. It is beautiful there thank you for your hospitality. I am sure i will be back.

Michael Matarrese

Passive aggressive, fake happy park rangers that are a cliche stereo type of that security guard type person. They would make good cast members in a movie where Seth Rogan becomes a park ranger...

Aaron Ziesemer

A great place to walk around. Sit and enjoy the nature. With it being right near i5 its always loud with traffic. But if you want a river to play in, disc golf or open field, this is great. Plenty of bathrooms loacated all around the park. We will be going back for sure.

Angela Trager

Not awesome anymore since casino was built

Jake Veltkamp

Walked the trail. Very nice scenery, especially at the river side. The trail seems fairly well kept, but it's mostly dirt with minimal safety features (rails. steps, etc.) Didn't camp but passed through the sites which seem well maintained with flat plots to pitch tents and clean, stone free space around each plot. Would visit again.

J .Budz

Misty gray day kinda drizzly and beautiful. We walked by the river and we all had fun. God bless whomever drowned there. There's a memorial by the bridge. Be careful. Fishing looks good. I would love to go there again.

richieg parrett

Gorgeous view & peaceful in the sunshine.

Nick Makiney

This is a nice place along the river to hike around or play disc golf. Beautiful area.

Melody Thrall

Nice swimming spot

Rebecca Hardin

Nice rest.

Dana Thomas

Nice but will not go back due to terrible freeway noise

Carrie Andersen

Good State Park and right close to swimming in the River , very clean park

Alicia Jane Ryder

The name says it all ..it really is paradise

Joe Broyles

Rangers are great people. Just not too much to see. There is swimming which is nice, but right next to the Interstate means you get continuous reminders of how close civilization is.

Donna Riley

Right along side I-5, so much traffic noise we had to close all windows in RV and turn on A/C unit fan so there was soft white noise instead of compression air brakes from 18 wheelers. Looks like a nice day use for kayaking in the shallow river, under I-5 bridge, was okay for our 1 night stop on way to Oregon coast, but wouldn't stay for a weekend.

leilani creed

Very peacful,. The showers are hot. The place is clean

Denise Turner

Great disc golf course!

Joker Jack

Family fun.

Elena Luican

Very nice park, but too noisy.

Cane Corso PDX Olgas CaneCorsoPDX

We really enjoyed the short hike. Looking forward to go kayaking

Angela Hendrix

Great camping spot so close to town. Went there to test out a new camper while staying close to home. You could literally go pick up a pizza. Only downside is the freeway noise. We just pretended it was the ocean waves. Lol!

ayman mahmoud

It is a fun place to bring the family. There are deep swimming holes disc golf picnic tables and Much more

Nate Conrad

Nice campground. Can feel a bit like a police state with the rangers constantly monitoring you but at least its safe for families.

mikko Thomas

The staff made it worth it. The spaces are right on top of each other. The space I had people continuously cut through. We had next to no privacy as far as people not coming through our site

Scott Hartzell

We drove by the park at 70 mph and Google thinks that we were there? We have been there, but it was almost 30 years ago. At least then, it was a beautiful park. Very quiet and peaceful and at least then we just had to keep an eye on the kids to make sure that they didn't wander away. Hope that the park is still that way. They used to lock the front gate at 10 PM so that you didn't have to worry about people coming and going all hours of the night, don't know if it's still that way or not.

Holly Norris

They don't let you gather wood from the Forrest so they can have a monopoly on selling it to you. The campsites are strangely priced and you can't stay longer than ten days without leaving for three then coming back. Washington state is increasingly more disappointing.

Alicia Ryder

Peaceful place even tho its under a freeway. Very little noise from the bridge above and the river is tranquil.

Jai G

Highly recommended place for camping. Big space.

Floyd Lenhart

In the woods & easy access

Nelson Phillips

We needed a quick place to camp with a group of high school students on our way to the Oregon Dunes. This was quick, easy and comfortable. After listening to the background "white noise" from I-5, the Pacific Ocean at Florence, Oregon, seemed so much more soothing. I'd say it was a perfect spot for an inexpensive, "close to the highway" in and out sleeping spot.

Josh Siewert

The park was clean and well spaced. The rangers were kind was easily accessible with a one lane road. Hiking is nice and close to a river that was clean and calm.

Nicholas Wipf

Decent place to stay, as is does the job. However, I paid a considerable amount for the site, and the site can barely fit two large tents. The showers require payment for hot water, and the interstate noise is slightly annoying, but the atmosphere is definitely very positive and the staff is super helpful and friendly. I also appreciate its proximity to the city. Definitely a solid choice for going to Portland or if you’re on a road trip and just stopping by; you probably wouldn’t want to stay here for longer than a few days. Also: if you see these massive insects (pictured) on the shower, THEY ARE NOT MOSQUITOES. They are crane flies, and are completely harmless to humans. In fact, they don’t even bother humans at all!

Wendy Lovan

Was a very nice place for our family's gathering.

Tim Lopez

I spent the morning and afternoon here on a hot August day and had a great time! I went with a small group of dads and kids with ages ranging from 3 to 8. We hiked the 2 mile loop along the river, which was very kid-friendly, but never found the waterfall that was on the map. Water level might have been too low. The trails could also use better signage at the forks because we never did complete the loop; instead we cheated and took the road back to the day use area. The main swimming hole got pretty busy in the afternoon and it’s a bit weird that it’s under the I-5 overpass so we floated upstream and found a pretty secluded spot with a 15-20 foot cliff and a rope swing, which was really cool and pretty safe, since the water was really deep underneath the rope swing. Couldn’t touch.

I've been visiting Washington State Parks for years. Paradise Point is one of my favorites as it is conveniently located near my daughters home in Longview. Like all parks here in WA, Paradise Point has an excellent staff from top to bottom. Tom, James, Linda, and the temp hire Megan are always helpful and considerate. Just 2 years ago PP was seemingly overrun with vagrants at times, but with the increased emphasis on law enforcement this park has really improved. Times change and PP's close proximate to Portland often causes a homeless overflow. I knew and liked the previous Ranger Kathy as she took the time to work out difficult issues with adjacent campers. This current staff seems to have the perfect balance between the conservationalist needs and the law enforcement presence. Somebody is doing a good job of hiring the right people for the jobs here. I'd like to see the state take free construction dirt from all the building going on in adjacent towns to build an 8 foot berm along the entrance road to deflect the noise from I-5. Seed it with native berries and grasses so that it could be a habitat for birds and small animals. In just a few weeks the 8ft waterfall down the pathway will be pouring again! I would also like to see individual or group camping spots put in near the beach next to the frisbee golf course under the bridges. This park has great potential!

Philip Zimmer

It was a pretty nice place we didnt do much just took it easy on our day off.

Ed N.

Great park adjacent to the Lewis River. Nice trail and campsites, some closer to each other. Wide variety between full sun and full shade. Some sites with water and power. Bathrooms kind of old, could be a little cleaner. Only one shower each side (didn't use it).

Team Heresy

I walk here everyday, it's beautiful and peaceful once you get away from the overpass.

Melaney Dittler

I-5 runs right through the middle of it... Otherwise, nice place. Just really loud...

David Church

Great place. It's a slice of nature along the freeway. Camping was pleasant and tidy but the sound of cars never ceases.

Tammy Grzogorek

Well kept up and nice dtaff

Babette Lenz

I really like this park! Nice camping sites and facilities, lots of trails to explore, even a disc golf coarse! We will definitely be back! Those walk in sites are intriguing. I'm not sure I'm brave enough to tackle that though. The freeway is close but it's not as bad as some like to say. If you are worried about the freeway noise just stay in the back side of the camp and you won't even notice.

Derek Krause

Great family place to camp and swim. Have some good memories here.

Shana Stewart

nice little fishing hole.

J.J. Wilson

Rode our kayaks down the river for a few hours ended at Paradise Point. Great spot. Lots of parking, but usually not that busy. Lewis River is a ideal spot for a day kayak drip. Even saw a Bald Eagle posted up in a tree.

Darla Portrey

Great little getaway when it's hot are you just need some time which nature

Andrew Wuamett

4 star because you can hear the freeway, but as soon as you walk down to the river past a waterfall, that all just goes away. Serene, natural beauty at it's best. Highly recommend.

dalux heng

Nice, clean, beautiful and peaceful park.

Peter Petrovich

Excellent find here plenty of things for the kids

Marlo Lynch

Awsome state park

Jennifer Daley

Our dog loves coming here. Staff is nice and rated are reasonable.

Dave Barker

Over the course of a month of travel, this is the worst campground that I have stayed in - by far. The camp is right on Intestate 5; very noisy. The dumpsters were overflowing from the weekend, and as of Tuesday AM, still full. My campsite was trashed, and had evidence of someone uncorking their holding tank on the grass. And, after paying $48 for the night as an out-of-state visitor, reserving online, I had to buy tokens for a hot shower. Not impressed. Disclaimer: I did not take advantage of the river access, presumably the only reason to locate a State Park in such a lousy place.

Danell Sweringen

What a beautiful place to go. Gorgeous scenery clean bathrooms. Wheelchair accessible. Lots of picnic tables

Judy Battaglia

Noisy, I-5 half a block away. Well kept, friendly hosts and rangers We needed to do a shake down cruise with our new, to us, trailer close to home. Did the job for us.

Hannah Thor

Had a great campsite tucked away. Only bummer is close to freeway so you hear the road noise. But if you have a bluetooth speaker like we did it drowns it out so doesn't bother you anymore.

Oleksandr Chesnokov

To my great surprise, there are no mosquitoes, the river flows nearby, nearby the noise from road i5 like the noise from a waterfall

Nolski

Fun place for your group to go swimming! 10 bucks for parking. Make sure you pay because they walk around and hand out tickets left and right if you don't pay.

Eric Stephen

mite nippy when its rainin..

Kc Vandeventer

Over priced. Could hear way too much noise from the freeway. 6 bucks for an hour's worth of firewood. Not going back.

Beeblbop Williams

Mmm cabbage

Heather Manning

Camp host was really not available. Still trying to figure out after 7 months of traveling around the Pacific Northwest, what do camp hosts even do in Washington? Anywho, there tends to be a bit of sketchy people. Park Rangers patrol I guess. Very close to the Ilani casino. The Shell station up the road has great coffee and supplies. Buy 5 coffees get the 6th free. Very closeto other shopping as well.

Kendall Larson

I stayed at the campground two nights. Nice enough campground, and it had showers (which is a rarity with most campgrounds). You did have to pay for hot water (50 cents per 3 minutes) and the campsites are pretty small for the price.

Matthew Reyes

Not too many people there in the early afternoon. Nice swim spot!

Carol Hernandez

Use to stay there when the kids were young, now they have full hook ups for trailers and motorhomes. It's a nice place to stay!!

Craig Turner

Wasn't there so can't help.

Marta Gibson

I like this place early in the mourning down by the lake its so peaceful and quiet just good feeling from it great place to float around on some tube or not

Camille Uncapher

Relaxing. Beautiful.

David Stevens

Beautiful the greenery the scene and the air

Damon Fischer

Very fun and a great get away

Cherie Chandler

Ok little park. Recommended for a one night stay passing through or a day use area for those who live close by or need a good stretch of the legs. Beware stinging nettle and maybe poison oak. (See pics, but definitely stinging nettle on the trail - my son got it)

Ron Reiner

Small park near I5. Traffic noise is moderate to high. Only 20 campsites with water and elec...none with sewer... but there is a dumpsite. Beautifully forrested, but with little Sun penetration it gets pretty muddy when it rains.

Mark Kutss

Very cool place for a day at the lake, but sadly no green fields.

Brian Newvine

Sites 40 and 42 were perfect for hammock camping! The park is just off the interstate :( but the facilities were good and there is a shower!

Taylor Johnson

Beautiful park with some decent trails, camping, disc golf and other fun activities!

Timothy Gaynor

A nice little nine hole disc golf course by the river. Swampy after a bit of rain, and short holes with good variety. My only complaint is the cost of a Washington pass. $10 for the day or $35 for the year. Having to put your license plate on the pass is also annoying if you want to take a friend's car.

Ilona lord

It's a nice park but the noise from the freeway is bad. That's why only 3 stars. The river would be great to raft on but the beach is right under the freeway and the noise is deafening.

Mia Breeden

Started great, ended like an abysmal joke. If you're renting a space here because they have showers or warm water PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! We tried to use them ONCE during our 4 day stay only to shell out over $3 for 1 minute of ice cold water with a toddler. The ranger acted like I was a jerk for causing them to "I guessssss... I have to close the showers." The hot water turned off 3 times, I'm allergic to most soaps. Being able to rinse said soap off should be a general expectation of using their showers. IT'S 6 MINUTES PER DOLLAR HERE! So yeah, $20 for an ice cold shower. (Yes, I can do math! At least 10 cents per minute?! I could have laid unter the water spigot hookup for cheaper) We just went home and asked for a refund. I'm the jerk?! What a joke. Uh, no. If they don't work, they shouldn't be open to begin with. The summary of all of these things is; if you actually expect the basic ammenties they describe on their website, please be more than willing to be "understanding" when they can't come close to those promises.

Ian Hutchinson

This is a fun place to swim or to get the kayaks into the river but it us pretty loud with the freeway right over head. Once you paddle 1/4 mile away it quiets down though. The trails seem pretty nice as well for walking along the river.

Rex Belgard

Could have been bwtter weather

Tony Hethcoat

I loved this place it's a awesome experience I highly recommend this place it's a Veiw you won't soon forget bring the whole family.

MARK FARFAN

We expend one day with Some friends it’s kind that far away from Seattle but it’s a really nice place for camping ⛺️ they have conteiner for garbage and recycle, water for clean the dishes , they have a really clean bathroom wow

Patrick M.

Very pleasant location to spend an afternoon. I think the old railroad bridge which was converted for pedestrian use is very nice.

Josh Hvass

Easy disc golf courses

Timmy D

My family visited the day use area and the $10 park fee was not worth it. We felt like a semi truck was going to careen off of I5 which can be heard from above the park. The vaulted toilets were pretty bad too. Overall, I would only recommend the park for a kayak on the smooth Lewis River. Leave your pricey belongings at home with the easy I5 access.

Ira Dube

Located close to highway so you do have road noise. Roads in campground could be repaved. We has a nice sized site which is always a plus.

Mollee Phelan

Not a paradise at all. The freeway is so loud you cant even hear your friends 3 ft away, it's pretty much unbearable. The freeway also makes it's incredibly windy. The yurts were nice but not secluded at all. Homeless people hanging around the bathrooms at late hours in the night, its scary. Day use area water is shallow and murky, not for swimming.

Kara Lehman

Great tubing during the summer. Nice little camping spots.

Larry Shaver

If you can get past the freeway noise, you might get some sleep. But the big trucks using the Jake Brakes going down hill are very bad!!!

Victor Hernandez

So much fun for the kids and the water is not too deep! My family and I love this Park ❤️

Rachel Halls

Nice camp hosts.... people in office have a hard time commicsting info on the hike in site everyone seems to have different rules

Rebecca Beintker

Great spot for the kids. Make sure you get a reservation in advance and maybe check out the sites in person before hand. Will definitely be coming back here. Kids loved it. Bathrooms and grounds were kept clean. Park ranger does rounds on a regular as well.

Kristen Thrasher

It reminds me of "Field and Stream" - a now old outdated, paperback book,,, leaving only an empty lonely page with every "Turn the Page"

Sarra Anderson

Nice park, clean restrooms, and we're able to have a decent fire. We camped with two young children, my husband, and I in a 10 person tent with ease in the site we had. As this was a first camping trip for my children we did not do any other activities available at the park.

D. l. Zarb

Love taking my dog here.

Scott Boze

Definitely not a destination park, but a nice overnight stay. Decent trailer spots and very nice tent sites. Lots of freeway noise, and a long walk down to the river. Water and electric hookups, no sewer. It does have a dump station.

QuixScopeTV

Nice place.

Simeon Redberg

Basically a giant soggy field next to the freeway and a decent pathway along the river
