REVIEWS OF Palouse Falls State Park IN Washington

Dirk Zoller

Very impressive waterfall in a historical setting. It's the official Washington State Waterfall. You got to see it. But be aware. It's hot out there. And to get down to the cool and wet places you have a good hike in front of you.

Joanie Barnes Groller

We are from Bremerton, WA so it was a pretty long drive. The Palouse Falls was the main part of our trip. I’ve heard it was very nice Falls but when we arrived...it was so much better than I expected! It is absolutely beautiful how the falls look like the just drop out from desert soil. Everything is so green and lush at bottom of falls. There were a lot of bees (hornets) in the area but it is still so worth it! They keep the park clean and grass picnic areas are green and nicely maintained. I suggest a quick hike up to the gazebo on the hill overlooking the waterfall for the best pictures! Too many bees for my husband but we tried.

maxy cheriyan

Very scenic falls and is very easily accessible. There is good enough parking spots and a hiking trail to explore the falls from different directions.

Shelby Dotson

Mildly feared for my life, but it was beautiful.

William Putt

Great place to spend a couple hours just sitting and enjoying nature

Brian Jim

The bomb...great vista views...

Christin W

Awesome! The dizzying heights aside, it's a beautiful gem hidden in the middle of an unforgiving land! We didn't know there was tent camping or we'd have camped there too!

Brooke Zielinski

Beautiful, fun location. Perfect picnic location. Make sure to go early, parking is limited and it gets really busy around noon!

Roxanne Guevara

Awesome sights!! The falls are gorgeous. There is a moderate hike for those who choose to get closer. Gorgeous and def worth the drive.

Tonie Bedell

Beautiful!!! Off the beaten path and really on the road to no where in particular, which is the way we like it. Amazing view! Find a spot under a bit of shade and be mesmerized by the falling water, spray, roar and surrounding vistas! There isn't a parks approved trail to the bottom and is very dangerous to attempt. You do need a Discovery Pass or pay the day use park fee. Enjoy!

Keith Howard

Pretty, but remote. Stop if in the area though.

Matthew Cooper

Fantastic views. Amazibg to see so many stupid people walking right to the edge of the cliffs. SEVERAL PEOPLE DIE EVERY YEAR AT THIS PARK. DON'T BE ONE OF THEM.

John Holman

Falls were awsome, but it was one of the hottest days of year and hard to enjoy. Go early morning.

Chris Bodnar

Bit pricey for a quick stop but what a view.

Curtis Olinger

Amazing views, an overcast day is perfect for photos.

Saurabh Bhatt

Small but nice park with few benches in the shade. Not many bugs during daytime and the rainbow near the falls looked great.

Joshua Scott

Beautiful waterfall. Well worth stopping, having lunch and checking it out.

Kyle Mullins

Great views. Road going in is very rough.

Matt Duelge

This is one of my most favorite places on earth. Make sure you clean up after yourself. Also exercise safety and caution: people die here all the time.

Stephen Hall

Beautiful views, keep an eye on your kids, there are a lot of dangerous locations that people can fall.

Pacific Drift

Love this place. But people are super irresponsible here. I saw a guy in slides (open foot sandals with no straps) trying to walk the trail and he fell twice. THIS TRAIL REQUIRES YOU TO PAY ATTENTION AND WEAR ACTUAL SHOES. I go here 3 to 4 times a year. But please don't be stupid. That's how the park gets closed. Be prepared to hike a tiny slightly sketchy trail if you wish to hike the bowl. The hike to the lookout above the falls is not as risky. But it is very easy to fall, so pay attention.

Gerald Dennison

Best Falls in the high Desert. I'm in love with it's Beautifulness.

MMN3 Nocker

Very scenic, and the falls themselves are just an awe inspiring sight. Watch the water as it cascades from it peaks, and careen into rough rapids. I can't wait to go again. Although it s a bummer when I went they don't take card for the parking fee.

sandra Billie

This place is gorgeous! A nice easy enough hike to the falls, we did it with a baby, a grandpa and 8yr old.

Harold Majano

The view is incredible and makes a it a great spot to take pictures. It has low and medium trails!

Saja Francesca

Definitely worth the drive at least once in your life. Stop by the Lyons Ferry SP to swim before or after

Susan Funk

Awesome views but be careful up above. There is no fencing and tell you straight out that people have died there.

Audrey Butler

Beautiful, great photo opps! only complaint is the dirt road portion..always rough, but well worth the drive

Brenda Boyer Knoll

Family roadtrip. Adventure. We had hoped to hike to the bottom but I guess 4 people have died and so the trails that used to go to the base of the falls are hidden. We couldn't find them. Its a fun little family roadtrip, the falls are in the middle of nowhere and they are very impressive. No had close and no cell service, plan accordingly. Just posted a video on YouTube search FunshineFamily

Heidi Haslip

The falls and the park were gorgeous! With that, I will say I should have done more research and realized you needed a Discover Pass. Unfortunately they only take cash or check for the day-use fee, which we didn't realize until we trekked all the way out there on our way to Pullman. We turned around shortly after entering and decided we'd come back the next day on our way home with cash. The wait to get to the parking lot took at least 35 minutes

Kathryn Brown

Nice place for camping and day use

Tonya Peldo

Great place to have a nice picnic and see a waterfall.

Azurien Bellatrix

Very pretty falls but the rutted dirt road to it is Crazy Bad! I have a jeep and it wasn't worth it. Why not just put some sand or mulch down, or at least keep off whatever tractor thing made those insane ruts.

Dixie Sly

Very pretty place to visit. Only tent camping allowed.

Artful D.

Beautiful place mother nature at its best. Don't get so close to the edge.

Mars Mercury

Enjoyed the drive from Spokane. Nice park but treacherous walls in and around the falls They need more metal fences to keep hikes from getting it the 12 inch wide trails. Several death in 2018 and no park guard at park even through signage and security guard hut seem to imply they do at times. VERY SCENIC and remote. No cell phone connectivity till one comes up out of the canyon and a few miles down the road. Great scenic falls and much greater in size during Spring run off. Enjoy be careful . Plenty of space to get good photos and educational learning plaques at several places. Park benches and great spot for picnic but space is limited. ENJOY

Shelby Davis

Wonderful view in the spring. Lots of people with this recent nice weather but worth the winding drive to get out of town for a picnic with the kids

Slaught Er

Absolutely beautiful, and some amazing geology. The warning signs about falling off the cliffs absolutely should make you wary of wandering too close to the edges, and there's plenty of places to fall and die if you're not careful. Don't be the person that falls in.

Steve Dickey

Very Beautiful hidden Gem in Eastern Washington. A must see place!

Elias Chavez

Beautiful place to visit either alone or friends. Just use common sense and it could be a nice trip

Bill Oelklaus

Stunning Palouse Prairie site! Out-of-the-way location, worth the drive!! BYO. Few amenities available for sale. Varied sightseeing trails accessible.

Steve Bailey

A perfect day trip from Spokane. Bring a lunch! Also, visit the store in Washtucna! It was early April and the Falls were raging.

Richard Pettit

This natural wonder will not disappoint. The 2 miles of gravel road is heavily washboarded but don't let this discourage you. Room for some RV parking. Views of the falls are accessible for people with mobility issues.

David Cy

Beautiful waterfall. Definitely worth the visit if you're driving in the area. About 20-30 minutes off wastuchna and a little bit of off roading. Lots of good views. Be careful! Dont fall off!!

Jason Girnus

Great place to visit when it's not hot and not a holiday weekend.

David McConnachie

This is a beautiful place. There are 10-12 first come first serve primative camp sites that are 12$ a night. Parking requires a Discovery Pass, or a fee you can pay on-site. There is a safe, excellent view point to check the falls out in safety. There is also a path you can get on that allows you to get down to the bottom of the falls, or the top. It can be very dangerous though, there are many steep cliffs when going outside of the main view point. **WARNING** If you do decide to check that out, be very careful. If you fall, you will likely die.

Bob Loftus

Fun place to go. There actually is a trail all the way down... Takes someone much more brave than i though. We only got to the top of the water fall and to continue we would have had to hung onto a rock and side stepped a corner over the cliff. No thanks. Amazing views everywhere you look though.

James Martin

Nice and clean park for a fun family picnic!!

P Dullum

Hidden beauty. Nice park and well worth the drive.

Nita Lynn

Loved it, learned it not very balanced but the sight is one to see! Be safe though!

Shelley Vanallen

awesome, I had no idea and I have been in Spokane almost all my lifefamily

Axel Crane

Nice view, not much else here.

Rick Davidson

Exploring possible camp sites, this one has no provision for trailers. But great place to see

karen coats

Beautiful location, should bring a picnic lunch!

Robert Toomey

What an awesome view. Driving through the desert your thinking, there's no water here. Then, suddenly, there is this amazing waterfall. This is a must see.

Sarah Taylor

This was a wonderful and worthwhile trip. I recommend it for anyone who enjoys small hikes and great views.

Trenton Van Dusseldorp

Palouse Falls is the State waterfall and very beautiful with the surrounding area. Made by a glacier the waterfall is at 197 ft. Views from the top are right off the parking lot and very easy to get to. There is a little path to the right that takes you up a little ways for a different point of view. To the left is another path that can take you down to a river portion where the water flows before going over the edge. The hike we took was a mile out and a mile back and ended by the separated rocks located right near the falls cliff. The hike was fairly easy but did contain some steep hills and loose rocks. There are also multiple signs warning you to stay away from the cliff edges as people have died. There were warnings of rattle snakes and poisonous plants but we did not encounter either.

Jeff Huddle

Always fun to go see the high water in the spring. Growing up 20 miles from here, I have been there a lot of times. Well maintained rest rooms and parki ng lot.

Melissa Strickland

This was our first trip there. It was beautiful. The park was clean and the ranger was very helpful.

Cameron Wanke

This dangerous location is well worth the visit. Use caution, stick to the trails, and follow any warning signs and you'll have a beautiful time!

Susan Stredwick

Haven't been here since the mid 70 s. Glad we went to see the spring run off. The falls were spectacular.

Ryan Butschli

I really enjoyed my trip to this state park. But learn from my mistakes. If you want to explore more of Palouse Falls than just the overlook you should bring water and good hiking shoes. There are places where the path is not on state property which means there is no safety guarantee. we were greeted on the way in with a sign saying there were 4 recent deaths from people getting too close to the cliffs. Be safe. If you've read this far and you don't have a discovery pass, bring $10 cash for parking.

Colten Wetter

An incredible view. The falls are one of the best things to see in the area. Be very careful though as many people have fatal accidents walking too close the the edge. There is a very safe area for kids and pets though so don't worry too much. This does require a discover pass to visit so be prepared for that.

Brian Aurich

Gorgeous views!! Be careful with little ones as not all of the trails are fenced. But there are several safe locations to view from with fencing.

B Dubb

Not been hete in a while. Gr8 views snd a wonderful place for a picnic and to discuss history with the little ones

Jessica Leivas

Beautiful waterfall in the middle of the desert, was pretty interesting worth the drive

Randy Koepsell

Ya think they could use some of the $10 entry fee to grade the gravel road.

Rob Larsen

Gorgeous views and easy access along the fence line for hikers with no experience. The trails out and around the falls outside the park area should only be used by experienced hikers. While the trails themselves are not overly difficult there are ample amounts of hazards (rattlesnake territory, steep inclines, loose dusty trails, and oppressive heat during the Summer (you're in a desert!)). Make sure to keep ample room between yourself and the cliff edge, the fenced and protected area offers the best views of the falls anyway. Camping in tents is available for a fee per night. There are outhouses available for restrooms as well as a small restroom shack. Discover Pass required for parking.

Michael Pommer

Beautiful falls, must see!

Ajay Dewangan

Amazing views. Falls is surrounded by huge rocky mountains. Trail to bottom of fall is very narrow. Cliffs are not fenced, need to careful. Well maintained park, peaceful shade for picnic.

David Shelbourn

The falls offer an amazing view but there is no water access. Not much to do for the long drive it takea to get there.

Christina Seigerman

Had never been to Palouse Falls. We camped nearby and went for an hour or so. We took our dogs, on Spring Break. Nice state park! Lovely views, great picture opportunities!

Nora McNall

The Falls are always beautiful, but most spectacular in the Spring.

Jenn Alberts

Incredibly beautiful!!! I was impressed with how beautiful the falls were. Don’t be fooled by anyone’s reviews about it being an interesting drive from Spoakne, that’s plain not true

James Rosenzweig

The falls themselves are really impressive - beautiful, and made more so by how dry and barren a lot of the surrounding landscape is by contrast. For safety reasons there's a lot of fencing and warning signs that limited access to different vantage points, so I'll admit, after about 45 minutes we'd sort of "done it all". But it felt like a worthwhile stop - maybe not ideal for a dedicated trip just to the falls, but worth a detour to see it as you're en route to another nearby destination? I do have to shout out the park rangers - the day we visited (Saturday of Memorial Day weekend) there were so many visitors that the parking lot was full and there was an hour long line of cars waiting. But the process was made a LOT less frustrating by the rangers, who had a really wonderful system set up. One ranger walked the line to keep people informed about wait times, and the others used walkie talkies and signals to make sure that the moment someone vacated a spot, a new car could be directed into place. It's probably still worth trying to avoid the busiest travel days, since that's a long wait to sit through, but it's great to see that they've developed a really helpful system to minimize frustration and facilitate people getting into and out of the park.

Janne Pohjala

Definitely a place worth seeing. A lot of water in the waterfall in March. Very scenic views. Campground and picnic tables. The viewing area is safe for children. If you hike to the cliffs outside the viewing area keep your children and pets safe. Cliffs are steep. You can see more views and hike a few miles to the upper falls.

G&B Reeves

Very beautiful park, and hiking trails. Camping spots are great as well. Some trails are steeper than others. This was a family favorite park today.

Unknown -

This was an amazing waterfall, you can literally drive right up to it.

Ben Merritt

Best views are made by going to hooper and asking for permission from the mcgregor family and employees, as they own the land bordering the river. They're super friendly and 9/10 they'll be cool with it and can give directions, but be prepared to have 4x4 or and awd vehicle with some decent ground clearance, as the roads out there are glorified cattle trails. You can safely get down to the white rock side this way, but dont go swimming, or else you'll end up like that kayak dude

Gh

Spectacular view! But during Spring time you might get a lot of bees flying around

Steven Bartels

It's beautiful. I wish there were proper protected trails all the way to the bottom of the waterfall. My girlfriend and I managed to get to the top of the falls via well worn trails that exist past many many very seriously worded warning signs. If you want to get close to the falls expect to pass "the best views are behind you" "no marked trails ahead" "rescue past this point is at your own expense" and sooo many signs saying "people have died here" and asking you not to get too close to the edge of the cliffs. All that though was because we we went that way... There are some proper paved trails with fences around the cliff providing a beautiful overlook of the falls. Visiting requires a discover pass, the two times I've gone there has not been any employee present so you could not purchase a year pass, however there are $10 day passes available by filling out a paper and putting the relevant bit in a drop box. If you want a year discover pass you should totally get one before you go, they cost about $35 total and let you into many Washington state parks. If you go without one know that you are taking advantage of the lenient system and if you are caught you'll be fined $99, just get the pass. Anyway enough of my tangents... The park is beautiful and I recommend visiting. Just don't leave the protected area and fall off the edge. My pictures are from the top of the falls well past the protected zone.

Kristopher Wood

The state park is tiny with decent camping. The surrounding area is pretty amazing the hiking is rough and it is possible to walk over to the top of the waterfall. You can also get down to the basin which is great for swimming the current is strong. I've seen 2 types of poisonous snakes while hiking in the vicinity.

Anna Rice

So beautiful! I recommend this place to everyone. We took our two kids here and had such a good time!

Ethan Snyder

An absolutely beautiful place. There are areas either drops offs and no safety features, but that allows the park to maintain its natural beauty. Being at the top around sunset is such an amazing experience.

Craig Galat

Beautiful! Moderate hike to the top of the Falls. Far too many idiots on the cliff rims for my taste. 4 deaths in 2019... Didn't want to see another one.

Peter Sontrop

OK, I am rating a really cool natural place four stars. The place is five stars, but you have to pay $10 just to park your car for a few minutes. They do not offer a full year pass for $30 which is what I would rather have. Other places have a kiosk where you can buy the Discover pass for a year and not have to pay $10 for a one time visit. Bummer. I should even rate it lower because of that. Make sure you have your Discover pass.

jeff lawson

I was driving through this area last summer on business seen the sign for this site after a short drive pulled into the park and was blow away by the raw power and beauty of this river and falls and didn't see any park rangers very few people great hiking and if you get stupid here you can die by falling.. This park left a lasting impression on.

Ameri Pat

A long drive to this park. Dry camping is allowed parking permit required or pay $10. Plenty of parking but not for RVs. Waterfall is picturesque.

Red Ace Art

Really pretty, campsites are always kept clean, wildlife all around, and you can even hike down to a lower part of the falls, or be a rebel and walk the dangerous path to the top! Just be careful, and keep little ones close.

Gh

Spectacular view! But during Spring time you might get a lot of bees flying around

Wyatt Erickson

This is just a beautiful park. The views if the falls are incredible and the hiking around the falls is great. There are several amazing locations for looks and photos. Palouse Falls is definitely a hidden gem. I highly recommend grabbing a camera and heading out to the park. You may get luck and see some kayakers going over the falls. We saw a successful run on our most recent visit. Crazy, but very cool.

Dagoberto Herrera

Really beautiful place..very dangerous trail to make it to the bottom of the falls but at the end is worth it..breathtaking views

Eric Horner

Nice but less impressive

Butch Glander

It was a very nice short . The falls were beatful.

Abhijith Shasheendra

Recommend going on a clear and sunny day. Amazing viewpoints. If you up for a hike, a couple small trails take you to the head of the waterfall. There is a small area for camping as well. However, the drive to the park could be rough as the roads are not paved all the way.

Bryan Mulvaney

One of the most unexpected and beautiful places in Washington!

Scott Diehl

Very interesting bit of history there and I didn't know it was our state waterfall

Steven Bartels

It's beautiful. I wish there were proper protected trails all the way to the bottom of the waterfall. David Wangbichler

Cool to see but go midday. Its down in a canyon so mostly in a shadow.

Carolyn Davis

An amazing natural phenomenon. Beautiful falls. Fabulous views. Easy view-hike/walks. Well cared for park. Bumpy entry road.

john shane

The views are stunning and surprising. Just when you think the palouse is all desert, this pops up. Don't miss seeing this!

Dotty Scott

This was my second visit. Had a great picnic with granddaughter and family.

Sean Marshall

Breathtakingly beautiful. A striking waterfall cascading 198 feet over basalt cliffs.

thomas d

Neat spot to go to. Great views. Annoying walking past all the camping but it's a minor gripe. Nice day trip from spokane.

Anita Bruce

Nice falls interesting geography around the area, but nothing else around

Bonnie Frison

Too expensive. For the charge they should pave the road into the falls. People should be able to see enjoy the falls with out paying $10

Wallace McLendon

Worth the drive. Awe inspiring. Watch your kids & set a good example. There are fenced & open areas. Use caution.

Disha Modi

Amazing water fall view with small hike.

Trisha Powers

Beautiful and awe inspiring! Follow the rules and you will stay safe. The barriers are there for a reason.

Hunter Mitchell

Great place to stop if you are by pasco, 4 stars for great scene nice.

Chandresh Baid

We went there in mid June. Area near the fall was dry and dusty. Falls looks really good from couple of view points but beyond that there is nothing much to do for a day trip.

Clayton Foster

Awesome place!! You definitely want to keep your pets and maybe your kids on a leash. The cliffs are no joke.

Tim Crandall

A 200 foot waterfall in the middle of very dry plains - an unexpected geological marvel. Nice picnic area in the park.

Chas Fryberger

Rugged, remote and ravishingly amazing, the official Washington State waterfall is a must see. Pack in your lunch and pack out your trash. Pay close attention to the many signs warning of danger!

Bryon Wiltse

It was a great time for my wife and I. There are great views that are easy to get to and longer trails if you want. Just don't forget your discover pass. If you do you can buy a $10 day pass. Cash only.

jarod powell

Quite the amazing sight this waterfall is! Such a powerful and grand waterfall!!

Jeri Stabler York

Beautiful place for a day trip and the drive there is just as pretty. Start on the trails, file the signs, be aware don't be stupid. There's some picnic tables for lunch, some with small BBQs. I took my 10 year old son (his first time) on Easter, walked down the trail to the bottom (most of which is rock that will and does move under your feet) where he played in the water and enjoyed the sunshine then we finished our day with a lunch and people watching. The waterfall is a magic thing to see in the middle of nowhere. I'd suggest going at least once. This is a state park so be prepared to pay the day fee if you don't have a yearly Discovery pass.

Jason P

It can be dangerous. Be cautious. Some people were being foolish and one girl slipped and fell but was able to catch herself. If she had not, it was death. Not something I want to see. It's beautiful and worth the trip.

Michelle Barker

Palouse Falls are beautiful! Be sure to take your camera. If you enjoy hiking be sure to take good shoes so you can hike to the "castle". It's a rock formation that looks like a grand castle!

Carolyn Kraus

A great place. There was no place to safely get down to the water. There is camping here but we stayed elsewhere. Be careful of the edges as not all areas have guard rails.

Sharon Yarrow

It was a beautiful place. The falls were majestic! The park area is well maintained with picnic tables and very clean toilet facilities!

Norbert Aschenbrenner

Wow. What an experience. This is worth a detour! You should plan to be there for at least three hours. Walk along the fence to get the best views to the waterfall. It is also worth to go down to the creek. Take the way on the left, ignore the warning signs, and go down where the railroad passes. It is some kind of a hike but not dangerous. Down at the water you have a gorgeous view up to the cliffs. You can even go into the water which gets fairly warm. The adventurous of you can the take the path at the right side of the cliffs and go to the top of the waterfall. The first part is easy, then you need a good head for heights and ignoring the last warning sign is at your risk. You will be rewarded with a spectacular view of the valley, not from the fall itself. If you go further to the right, you can see the fall again. But people fell to death, so be careful. Don't go there on a weekend. It will be very crowded.

Carolyn Kraus

A great place. There was no place to safely get down to the water. There is camping here but we stayed elsewhere. Be careful of the edges as not all areas have guard rails.

Aru Mare

Beautiful! Lovely hike down into the canyon ... Pretty intermediate hike for Exceptionally amazing views!

Jamie McIver

Been here a handful of times. It's really a powerful waterfall. There is a great path that takes you to the west side of the falls and farther up the west side of the river above the falls. Stay back from the edge. Mostly no handrails or cautionary devices to keep you from getting too close to the edge. Probably around a 200 foot drop in some areas. Sorry I only got a pic of the upper river this trip

Ralph Baard

Great stop. The falls are unexpected and worth seeing.

Mary Fisher

Beautiful falls but not easy to get to the river. Besideswalking not a lot to do and the view is limited.

Casey Martinez

Great experience for adventurers! Beware the edges and you'll be all good. Had a great time hiking down next to the main fall and getting photos. Wouldn't recommend to go with people you don't trust, as it's very easy to lose footing and fall. I went in the rainiest day and had full tread hiking shoes and still had a moderately rough time with rocks. The top view is good for most but the real treasure is right down next to it.

Lyle Brunckhorst

Awesome place. A real suprise

Luke Henrie

The falls themselves are a 5 star but the park isn't all that great. If you are going to charge a $10 fee to park you should have more than one bathroom, a fence, and a few tables. The fee is worth is to go and see the falls and do a little hiking but if you don't like heights or are unsure you can do the trail down to the bottom of the falls without slipping and dying (which some people have cuz they were trying to get to close to take selfies) then there really isn't much hiking.

Coastie Stacie

Always amazing to see and hear... but please, don't go chasing waterfalls. Just stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to... meaning STAY ON THE TRAILS! Stop going off onto random trails made by random people. That is exactly HOW you will die.

Varun M C

A great picnic spot on the east side of Washington. Amazing views of the falls and the canyon along the trail.

Harshit Rohatgi

First place I visited when I arrived in Seattle. The fall is just ok, but what makes it worth is the road trip when you are driving east. On a good early summer day, this road trip from Seattle after Snoqualmie is a great change of scenery from the lush green mountains to great spans of rolling hills ending up in Palouse. Hike down if you are a braveheart, but be careful as quite a few have fell down the trail into waterfall.

Tyler Salvig

Great spot if you just have time to stop by for a quick look, or you have trails to make it a fun day of exploring!

susan Holmes

Great visit was surprised that had to pay $10 to park for 30 minutes of pictures and general walking around.

Rick Pummel

Such a rugged, beautiful place! I love the fact that there are so many unprotected places in the park. This is the real, raw outdoors.

schwanyclause

A little piece of heavan In the middle of no where. The park is well maintained.

Glen Jones

Beautiful. But i would love to have gotten closer to the water.

chasing views_

My favorite Washington Waterfall! The drive itself has endless views of Eastern Washington's rolling hills and countryside. You can view the falls from a platform just steps from the parking lot!

Hayley K

Gorgeous! Absolutely a wonderful afternoon spot. Wear good hiking shoes and bring water if you’re going to hike the falls

Renee Nunamaker

Very spectacular to see but the road into the park is in terrible condition. Washboard ruts and narrow. There is a fee of $5 or you need a Washington Discovery Pass. Tent camping only. I'd suggest that if you value your RV don't take it there.

Mark Marashchuk

Palouse falls is one of those to go visit if you know exactly what it is your getting yourself into. The trail itself is roughly over a mile long and a little vague to find, unless you know what it is your looking for. Park rangers only reply with "I couldn't tell you" because its prohibited due to; dangers of the cliffsides, rattlesnakes and poisonous plants.

Have seen this place YouTube via nick page photography. What s great spot.

Anthony Riek

Beautiful park, decent amount of parking but only about 10 camping spots. If you're trying to camp be there right at 2:30 becuase it's a mad dash for a spot!

annie williams

It's so beautiful here, it's like you have to pinch yourself to believe all it's majestic beauty is only hours from home

Ralph Young

Wonderful gem even compared to the Grand Canyon.

Sharon Yarrow

It was a beautiful place. The falls were majestic! The park area is well maintained with picnic tables and very clean toilet facilities!

Steve Spencer

Awesome, Great views... Just stay away from cliffs... Llooonnnggg waaayyy down and the charge you for rescue/recovery efforts...

kannan sadasivam

I felt the falls were over hyped. Its very hot and dry climate and hiking can really burn you up. A lot of areas are cordoned off and for right reasons. The trails are slippery with lose dirt and a fall can be ugly. The drive to the palousse falls park is awesome if you take it in spring. The grasslands are a dream. lot of photo opps.

Clarke Hughbanks

Nice falls. Not much to do here though. There is an unofficial path that gets you down to the river above the falls.

Nicki Gay

Wonderful place to stop and visit, highly recommended

Mike Roldan

Absolutely breathtaking when you walk up to the edge of the falls and look down river, it is so beautiful.

Cayce Salvino

Gorgeous area! You have no idea driving out how beautiful it'll be there and then bam! Love it!

Velvet Shoemaker

It was such a breathtaking experience something you have to see in person to truly appreciate the view and beauty that God has made for all of us to appreciate. He is definitely the best artist for sure. Looks 3d...absolutely beautiful!!

Darren S.

Great stop for a picnic. Nice falls. Fee area.

Maureen Kipp

Spectacular. Totally unexpected. Out of the rolling hills is a magnificent waterfall with surrounding stunning cliffs.

Carina A B

Great stop when you're on the road, very beautiful, hot even when we went in Spring time. It was like 70°, beautiful, nice picnic areas, public bathrooms but they were locked. Only outhouses. Permit required for parking. Rangers occassionally on site. See wta.gov for more info on permit.

John Roberts

Fun place to go look at the waterfalls but caution is in order here don't stand near the edge too many people have fallen over into the bottom

Corbin Jacob Frost

It was seriously amazing here. We brought our dogs who had a blast as well.

Christine Arason

Nice area. You can see the waterfall from the parking lot.

Pacific Rock Northwest

Ok this place I've heard from friends and seen on social media. So I decided to see if its worth it. Well as you see my ratings yes! Definitely worth more than 5 stars. The view is just beautiful and for people that like places with geological history this one is for you too! But be warned some areas does NOT have safety railings to prevent you from falling. Dont risk getting that selfie thats at the edge of the cliff and yeah people HAVE died here because of stupidity and not following the warnings. The road Into the park is paved but not smooth so if you are driving a lowered car just know that it will be bumpy ride until you park your car. Nevetheless from seattle to Palouse Falls is a good 4hr drive but worth every mile getting there!!!

Carolyn Digsby

What cool place to see and hike!

Amanda Thompson

Such an amazing and beautiful place. Worth the stop and will not regret it. If you have the time you should hike up to the top of the falls.

Raechele Damschen

Beautiful park! Amazing views

Connor Nelson

Truly so magical, the falls are breathtaking, you feel like you’re in somewhere far far away from Washington state. The hikes are fairly short but adventurous, camping is $12 per campsite day use is $10. Be mindful they have a wasp problem in some areas of the park as of 10/2019.

Luis Talavera

Good place, my buddies and I took a not-so-traveled-by-trail and ended up at some good places to see the beauties this place has to offer.

Tucker Chandler

The camping isn't much to write home about but for one night or even a day trip if you live near by it is worth every moment of your time to stop by. It's our state waterfall for a reason.

Howard Finley

Beautiful site. Not sure if there is a fee to enter because I didn't. I recall a place to pay or there wasn't one to man the station

Duane Bishop

So worth the trip and the beauty of all..

Jeremy Inscho

This place is well worth the drive to see this spectacular waterfall. We will definitely be back.

S. K.ell

Cool park and waterfall. A must see if in the area. The last part of the road before entering the park is gravel, however it is well maintained.

white death

Beautiful spot. Stay behind the fences. You can see it very well from various view points just respect the drop.

Jerry Walton

Wonderful paradise lots of hiking
