We have the feddbacks of real people like you who use the services of North Cascades National Park (Park) in the state of Washington.
To this day the firm has a rating of 4.8 out of 5 and that rating has been calculated on 603 reviews.
As you can see the average of ratings that it reaches is almost the best one, and it is based on a very large number of opinions, so we can be pretty sure that the valuation is very faithful. If many people have bothered to rate when they've done well, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to set scores when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Park belongs to the category of National park.
Stunning national park, with incredible views. Did the Sourdough trail which took about nine hours but was incredible worth the effort. Unbelievably scenic and serene.
I would say it’s an underrated park. We went to a great ranger led program on wolverines, but only had time to do one hike in the park (blue lake I think was the name). Stayed at Colonial Creek campground - would recommend that again for sure!
READ IF PULLING TRAILER Road is narrow at times and very windy. There are also a few very narrow bridges. Well worth the stressful drive! Colonial Camp has about 20 spots you can fit a <30 ft. trailer. I would not bring any larger than that. There are a few spots that could fit a bigger trailer but they might be taken (up to you to gamble). $16 fee per day. Cash or check only. Worth every penny! Beautiful!
One of the least visited parks in the US, and I honestly can't tell you why. You would think there'd be more people with some of these stunning panoramas. Also the main road that cuts through the park has a lot of very accessible trails that are a short distance from the road.
Truly the American Alps! Amazing place to get away from people and truly get some peace in nature. Lots of hiking and backpacking options, and backcountry campsites are in great locations and well maintained. Shout-out to Marcel, an incredibly helpful and passionate ranger who encourages and educates park patrons to be good stewards of the earth and Leave No Trace principles.
Looking for a remote feeling...find it here. It seems unspoiled by tourist and not affected by wildfire destruction like Yellowstone and Glacier. Lush green with turquoise waters. Fresh air with a nice alpine evergreen scent.
Absolutely beautiful road trip..love love love Washington
Beautiful! Definitely worth the trip.
Beautiful area!
To many mountains, trees, snow etc. Made me want to go to the beach.
Some of the most stunning views on the PCT. And oh by the way I seen my largest bear on trail
This park is probably the best in the nation if not the world for alpine terrain. Parking at Cascade Pass is the place to start from.
Once you begin to ascend the scenery gets amazing! We made an afternoon trip to Ruby Falls & got back not too late for dinner, making several stops for pictures & breathing. There are deep gorges, some whitewater, waterfalls, mountain ridge views & stunning overlooks as you approach Ross Lake.
Breath taking views, glorious outdoors!
This park is a beauty. Great scenery, great hiking, and beautician turquoise lakes.
Hiked the Thunder knob trail when it was snow covered. It was a little more challenging than usual because the bridge was taken down, but the view was well worth it!
The mountain areas are nice to see, but there are only very few parking locations and not all at the right place.
Favorite National Park. So remote. Highly recommend
This beautiful and often overlooked wilderness tucked in the northern corner of Washington, is well worth the trip! Access to the park is difficult without hiking, but a simple through Highway 20 will offer some spectacular mountain views and inspiration for more discovery.
Scenic and accessible.
Beautiful event and educational space. Perfect for folk who want to learn more and love the "great outdoors."
Good. Only good. Nothing awe inspiring.
Stunning national park, with incredible views. Did the Sourdough trail which took about nine hours but was incredible worth the effort. Unbelievably scenic and serene.
Very beautiful park. Undervisited!
It's like they landscaped it to look like a real forest and the special effects on the mountains are spectacular. Congratulations to whoever designed and assembled this place. I heard there are supposed to be animals around, but I didn't see any, even though I was honking my horn to get their attention.
Easy access to some of the most spectacular mountains I've ever seen!
I would say it’s an underrated park. We went to a great ranger led program on wolverines, but only had time to do one hike in the park (blue lake I think was the name). Stayed at Colonial Creek campground - would recommend that again for sure!
We hiked the Chain Lakes Loop. Though the beauty is stunning, there are less rocky trails one can take. Make sure you start out early to take your time and enjoy the scenery and also have time to get through the sometimes rugged terrain before dark!
Enjoyed the park-hiked Cascade Pass up to Sahale Glacier then to Stehekin and back. The Glacier camp was one of the best backcountry campsites we have ever stayed at-worth the climb up! Had mountain goat visitors as the sun was coming up. Enjoyed a night at the Stehekin lodge plus had some delicious snacks at the bakery!
clean, tidy and quiet campgrounds. beautiful creek that has a nice little sandy beach. the caretakers do a great job. just remember there are no water taps so you either have to bring your own water or filter from creek.
idk
Such a beautiful and sometimes overlooked national park.
My fav National Park around Seattle, best hiking trails. Mountains are magnificent, good for wild life watching.

We encountered a bear as we walked around a switchback. He just kept eating, bit it was a bit of a surprise after turning a corner to be within 20 feet of it. We backed off and waited and stuff and it went as it should. This was when we went up the Cascade Pass trail. Most web sites don't explain the difficulty if you continue on and head toward the Sahale Arm. Note switchbacks up there, and across more rock fall. Great hike though.
Great for hiking, kayaking, camping and any kind of outdoor activities if you like the mountains. Beautiful views of high picks, glaciers and lakes.

awesome
North Cascades offers beautiful views of glaciers and waterfalls.
Absolutely one of the world's most beautiful places
A wonderful place!
Beautiful scenery. Lots of great hiking trails.
Came here for mountain school. The sights were breath-taking! They have tons of hiking trails, cabins, a dining hall, and even a library! Be prepared to pack heavy!

Love this ranch
Beautiful place. Great place to visit.
Looking for a remote feeling...find it here. It seems unspoiled by tourist and not affected by wildfire destruction like Yellowstone and Glacier. Lush green with turquoise waters. Fresh air with a nice alpine evergreen scent.
Amazing cliffs, canyons and mountains. Disappointed in Happy Creek Falls trail--very difficult and not well maintained, with poor payoff at the end. The lakes are beautiful blue-green due to glacial water. No entry fee since the park is along a major state highway.
Beautiful
This place was just amazing. We weren't there very long, but we loved it. The views were gorgeous. You have to go on the Thunder Knob hike if you vist.
Beautiful place, waterfalls everywhere! Take the dirt road from marblemount if able.
Crown jewel of cascade
Lots of downed trees on the mountain sides--none blocking the road but it did affect the scenery. The Thunder Knob was a short (but not easy) trail that led to a picturesque overlook of Diablo Lake. The water is the most amazing color! Definitely recommend even if just for the views.
This was a surprisingly amazing national park. We had a blast and the hiking was spectacular. Cascade pass is a must see. The drive out there and the hike are great! The Newhalem campground was great with a lot of trees and good natural barriers between campsites. Great place to stay. The visitor center is a must see place. They have a small shop and some exhibits but the staff is the best reason to stp in. They are so helpful and a joy to talk with. North Cascades National Park is an American national park in the state of Washington. At more than 500,000 acres (200,000 ha), North Cascades National Park is the largest of the three National Park Service units that comprise the North Cascades National Park Complex. North Cascades National Park consists of a northern and southern section, bisected by the Skagit River that flows through Ross Lake National Recreation Area. Lake Chelan National Recreation Area lies on the southern border of the south unit of the park. In addition to the two national recreation areas, other protected lands including several national forests and wilderness areas, as well as Canadian provincial parks in British Columbia, nearly surround the park. North Cascades National Park features the rugged mountain peaks of the North Cascades Range, the most expansive glacial system in the contiguous United States, the headwaters of numerous waterways, and vast forests with the highest degree of flora biodiversity of any American national park.
It’s hard to put the experience into words. Go get your own experience!
Everything's beautiful here always
Recently summited Mt. Baker during my last stay here. This park is remote and filled with gorgeous views. Hikes here tend to be more challenging so please take precaution if you are considering hiking at this national park. Reach out to the ranger station if you want more information for your next visit.
Gorgeous!
The hike to Cascade pass is easy. The views are spectacular. The area has a variety of wildlife. On my hike I spotted a deer, a bear, a playful marmot, an angry marmot and bees.
North Cascades is worth a visit especially if you have a day or two. It is a little different than many other national parks as a main road runs through the park and has many good views but for the truly spectacular, breath taking, views you need to put some miles in. The first time we hiked here we were awe struck and felt like we were in the middle of the alps. You can get to places where you are surrounded by these young mountains. North Cascades is also more off the beaten path than other national parks and it seems you can find peace away from crowds.
The North Cascades National Park is a reminder of Mother Nature and what the Earth is like in its original form without urbanization and our carbon footprint. Restrooms are available, but be mindful to bring a small, one-hand carry soap bottle as there are no Sinks with pipes to the sewage treatment system, your waste in the toilet will be fertilized by Mother Nature, remember what I said about the Earth in its primitive, infant form with little man-made alterations. Also, even on summer days, it’s advisable to have winter coats in hand- as the higher you go, the colder it gets. Lastly, for tourists or out-of-State visitors, and please bring along a satellite phone, just in case your American carrier doesn’t have coverage in this mountainous region. Enjoy your venture into the lord of the rings like world!
Beautiful place
No mention of burn ban on website before we got here with truckload of firewood... Capping sites are pretty small and no privacy no showers in the bathroom but beautiful views and great hiking really close to river and mountains
Great. Great hike. Switch backs are crazy but the payoff is amazing.
Beautiful park with a lot of hiking trails.
One of the most beautiful yet challenging parks I have backpacked. Thru-hiked the Pacific Crest Trail and the views and elevation gain were killer. Definitely a must-visit for anyone in the area for multiple days.
Good hiking trails
Rugged mountains, remote lake trails and all the views you can handle. The further north you travel into the cascades, the more incredible the scenery becomes
Great snapshot of the North Cascades.
Best park in Washington State.
A true hidden gem. Consider instead of Banff or Jasper.
Went on a summer day during a heatwave, but still managed to find this park quite enjoyable! The drive along the highway is very scenic and even if you don't do the hikes, it is still nice to visit. Highlight of the park was probably Diablo Lake from the viewpoint. Forest fires nearby produced some haze but the colors were still stunning.
Fantastic views. For a $5 fee you couldn't ask for more bang for the buck. The trails off artist point will not disappoint.
The drive with waterfalls, view of the diablo glacier lake, the streams and the trails are simply a place to loose yourself!!!
Great hike. Super easy. Believe me anyone can do this. Trail was well trafficked. It was so easy that I hopped on my way down and slipped on a rock! Yeah. Had a Botox looking upper lip from the slip which was super attractive! Anyway if you want awesome views of snow capped range with beautiful Meadows blanketed with wild plants and blueberries then this hike is for you! BTW it was about 5 hour rt to upper views of lake doubtful.
Hiked to the top of cascade pass....hard hike up a bunch of switchbacks...totally worth it! !!then camped in mineral creek campground for the night...great short 2 day trip with my son
Very underrated park.
Climbed Mt. Shuksan, beautiful views in a great part of the country.
Great place with beatific views.
This is a great national park for 1-2 days that has different level of hiking for everyone with great views.
Perfect place for a ride!
I want to wander these trails for days. This was my first time up here and every turn of the road lead to a new stunning vista. Clean beautiful park and some of the most stunning scenery I've seen anywhere in the world. Deserves more than 5 stars.
Absolutely stunning park. I hiked the Diablo Lake trail and wish I had planned on seeing more of the park. Very well kept and stunning views!
Pictures do not even begin to detail the magnificent views you will experience on these hikes. I must warn you, The roads that lead to most of the trail heads will cause someone with a weak stomach to become sick. We unfortunately had a cloudy day, the views were still beautiful and the skies eventually cleared up after a couple of hours. My family and I did the chain of lakes hike and we were not disappointed. Bring plenty of clothing, wear layers including gloves, Waterproof boots, gloves, a good rain jacket and a hat. We also saw one black bear. There was no interaction, just be aware at all times and travel in groups.
Nice loop and scenic drives..
Beautiful and every way you could hope for for forested mountains and glacial rivers and lakes
One of the most beautiful places on earth, without a doubt. If you are even remotely close to going on a trip here, just do it. You won't regret it. I will go back, if it is the last thing I do.
Stunning vistas and landscapes. The only thing that throws you off here is that the center of the park, along route 20, is technically part of Ross National Recreation area. Therefore, you will find a dam, power lines and hydroelectric power plant from Seattle Light and Power. These can be eyesores especially at popular attractions such as Diablo Lake. Regardless, worth a visit. Highly recommend Thunder knob trail for those interested in a quick day hike.
Worth the drive. Come early, stay late
Not crowded even on the weekends, views are gorgeous! The admission is free, make sure to hike Cascades Pass while there and stop by the Diablo Lake.
If u love nature then you must visit this park,we loved it. Beautiful lakes and trails , green mountains awesome views
A treasure like few others. We're extremely lucky to have this park.
Amazing wilderness park. Highly recommend Hidden Lake and Cascade Pass / Sahale Arm trails (though you need nerves of steel and a 4 wheel drive to get to the trailhead at Hidden Lake)
One of the best getaways with a lot of hiking options. Has places suitable for all weather conditions, excellent and rewarding views.
Grizzlies and wolves great!
Creepy place
Nice place to camp tho it was smokey when i went.
Beautiful park. Highlight was eastern side. View at eastern side was incredible. Highly recommend it. Not as hikeable as other parks. There are hiking areas but most are difficult.
North Cascades National Park is another wonderful park. Plenty of sight seeing. Scenic beauty amazing locations surrounded by mountains and lake. Love this place.
Not my favorite National Park, but some unique and beautiful views can be found here. I would recommend friends visit.
One of the most beautiful places on earth, without a doubt. If you are even remotely close to going on a trip here, just do it. You won't regret it. I will go back, if it is the last thing I do.
Hands down the best National Park in the Pacific Northwest!
Absolutly love the North Cascades!
Drink a beer in peace
I recommend driving from the east to the west side on a clear day. The views are breath taking.
What is there to say? Another American National Park that is almost too beautiful to describe.
Beautiful! Must visit national park.
Stunning beauty, steep trails, elder forests, glaciers, quite a remarkable place!
Best place on earth, no place I'd rather be
North Cascades is a hiker's paradise it's beautiful beautiful emerald colored water beautiful hikes unfortunately when I was there due to the fires in British Columbia and surrounding areas it was pretty much and gulfton smoke but we did a few hikes and they were phenomenal the campground we stayed at was one of the few campgrounds that has actual bathrooms with regular parties and running water sinks and not the Porta-Potty style campsites so it was very nice we enjoyed it immensely beautiful access to the river at multiple locations hiking both sides in the mountains is a beautiful beautiful place
Breathtaking sightseeing, clean air, most beautiful land in the Pacific West
Beautiful place to enjoy nature.
Rugged, wild, remote, undeveloped, little bit intimidating - all the things one looks for in a first adventure is here. Avoid the popular hikes and you'll find endless miles and gorgeous vistas to fill you up with happiness, hikes both hard and easy will find you wishing you had more time to spend in the woods. Come, enjoy, wander a bit - but leave it pristine for the next individual to enjoy.
Great facility for learning about the North Cascades. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Good place for starting a day hike.
I just want to live here
What a beautiful drive coming from the west side of the state,.. Known as the "Alps of America" its boasts stunning Liberty Bell mountain Diablo Lake many waterfalls which then opens up into the beautiful Methow valley, one of the most beautiful and down right remotely wild places is North Cascades Natl. Park.
God painted better than Pablo Picasso, He painted better than Michael Angelo!
One of the greatest national parks you could visit! Best scenic drive (loop) in Washington! Wish reserving camp sites was easier though.
The prettiest place I’d ever been
Very beautiful . Most of it was closed do to snow but still beautiful. We went in November.
Not busy.
Perhaps my favorite thing about North Cascades National Park is the low volume of people visiting during peak season. It’s hard to pinpoint my favorite National Park but of the Pacific Northwest parks, this one is hands down my favorite. As an Alaska Native, this park reminded me of the best parts of Alaska. The forests grow large with towering Sitka Spruce and thick moss growth and the lakes are remarkably blue like the Caribbean. There are many hikes to engage in but be warned, download offline maps prior to entering the park because cell service was nonexistent except for the North Cascades Visitor Center parking lot. I could have spent a solid week here and still not gotten to see everything I wanted to. I cannot say the same about other parks.
North Cascades offers a large variety of hikes within the parks! Fire lookout towers, Mountaineering, beautiful serene lakes, and now even more mountain goats. I highly recommend taking a few days to explore what this place has to offer!
The best and most beautiful National Park I’ve been to. Views can’t get any better
Nice, but you have to hike in. not your usual drive through park.
Great place for hikers experienced or not. It’s also a great drive just to see the views, there are lots of pull off areas so you can observe the great views. I got up here a couple times a year.
There is plenty to see here. Enjoyed a few trails with some friends.
Beautiful!
Regarding access from Cascade River Rd. The road is closed just past mp 18 for repairs to the road that was damaged. It was supposed to take 2 weeks to fix depending on weather. It's still not opened back up. So if you re planning on hiking any of the trails be aware that your hike starts 5 miles sooner. (Mp18-mp23) UPDATE 5/14/19: Its now open all the way thru to the parking area and bathrooms at mp23 to the trailhead.
Beautiful place to visit. We completed easy and hard hikes, all of which were beautiful and worht doing. We would have stayed longer if it wasn't for the fire smoke.
Gorgeous views. If only we could have stayed and hiked more of the trails. Hidden Lake trail was a pretty rough hike for my friend and I, but the vistas were second to none. Highly recommend this park.
Extremely beautiful place to hike
Nice place to take pictures
This national park is a very underrated gem in my opinion. The Seattle metro area has 3 amazing parks next to it (Olympic, Rainier, and Cascades) and somehow Cascades is by far the least visited. In my opinion, though, it is the best. The mountains are amazing, the countless hikes (short and long) mean there’s something for everyone, and the drive through the valley is so amazing. Ross and Diablo lake (and both of the dams) are also quite awesome. Well worth a trip to see.
Quiet, Beautiful, lots of trails and not so many people (at least on weekdays)
Simply a spectacular!
Great hiking location, gorgeous scenery.
Nice park, very few people
Heaven.

One of the last great wilderness areas in the lower 48. Vast undisturbed mountain terrain with only hiking trails. Pretty much no civilization except along highway 20, where there are a handful of campgrounds and day use areas and trail heads.
The park was amazing, but visitors need to remember to follow guidelines and suggestions!! When the trail has numerous signs advising hikers to stay off fragile heather meadows, do it! It seriously isn't that difficult folks. I love the North Cascades!!
Beautiful nature, good selection of relatively easy hikes and challenging hikes. Enjoy God's world here.
Amazing National Park, there are an amazing lakes, sharp mountains and a lot of trails
One of the best park in US, like the hiking trails and wonderful to spend days here. There are tons of animals, including bears. The view is stunning. Should come back again.
Great nature, rangers can be bullies
Lots to do and see. Great hiking
No finer place for hiking, camping and bicycling. The drive up from Northern California thru Oregon and Washington is unparalleled !
One of America's best kept secrets. This place is super gorgeous with nice rock climbing
Best national park. The peaks are majiestic, the hikes are surreal, and the views are otherworldly. Highly recommend! The highway that runs through it is usually close November to May so prepare accordingly. Also most hikes aren’t even accessible until July and snow returns usually in October
Absolutely stunning! Trails for all skill levels. We went on the Thunder Knob Trail, an easy 3.7 mile out and back hike with a spectacular summit view. There is beach access to the green water, too. We brought our 5 year old and 2 year old with us. There are parts you will want to pack the 2 year old, but relatively safe trail.
This place is beautiful, If you have children, it is a great place to learn about wildlife 10/10
North Cascade N.P. has a lot to offer. A lot of trails, a lot of mountains, lakes. if you like bckpacking, this is one of the best area (views are magnificent) to visit in Pacific NW.
Love this place. Hiked the Heather/Maple Loop Pass Trail. It's 8.2 mile loop trail with spectacular views especially in Fall before the first big snow falls. It's a must for all hikers.
Don't go. You'll hate it
It is always a wonderful place to visit.
One of the most beautiful rides of my life!
Majestic. One of the most beautiful parks to visit. We went on 9/29 which was perfect with the weather with regards to road conditions. Not crowded at this time so a perfect season to visit. We continued on the Cascade Loop. Amazing road trip and highly recommend.
Mind-blowing beauty every way you look.
Beautiful hike, beautiful day, Fall colors - Easy Pass trail off Hwy 20
An amazingly beautiful national park.
Beautiful
Awesome hikes. Worth a visit. You'll be mesmerized by the beautiful views. Take a camera, or you'll regret it.
Of the 3 Washington National Parks, I liked this one the best. Stayed at Colonial Creek Campground. No utilities, quiet....obvious bear activity.
North Cascade is one of most beautiful place in WA. I love visiting there, climb mountain, relax at alpine lake wilderness!
It is located near the Canadian border, in the northern parts of Washington. This is among the most beautiful places in America. Here you will find beautiful deciduous and coniferous forests, valleys surrounded by high mountains, snow-capped mountain peaks and crystal clear mountain lakes. No matter what time of year you come here because the local scenery is equally beautiful in all four seasons. Here you can encounter predators such as bears, and because of this reason will be better for you to be cautious.
WOW! This place is amazing, very unique scenery!!
If you haven't been, you really should! Ridiculously lovely.
Mt Rainier and Olympic National Park get all the attention, but this is the best place to go to escape the crowds during the summers!
Cruised the NC hiway. Did some campground recon. Too much snow still to hike into backcountry. If you have never driven it by all means put it on your list and hang out in Twisp , Winthrop and Mazama.
Sooooo good. Can satiafy all hikers
It was chilly. It was wet. It was cloudy. It was foggy. And my first trip to the North Cascades National Park was also amazing! Snow-covered peaks hiding behind clouds and fog and periodically showing themselves, hidden waterfalls, beautiful calm lakes. I'm sure it's even better in good weather but Fall is a great time to visit.
Yeas... it is a really long drive to get to this underutilized National Park but totally worth it! The remoteness is part of its charm. We were only able to drive through and stop at the roadside viewpoints but we still had a wonderful time. Make sure to stop at the Seattle Power & Light facility as the locomotive, narrow bridge and waterfall are definitely worth your time.
The American Alps. North Cascades National Park is one of the crown jewels if American national parks. It boasts spectacular scenery, imposing mountains, beautiful blue rivers and lakes, verdant trees and vistas as well a a plethora of hiking trails, campgrounds, picnic areas, wildlife viewing areas and fishing opportunities.
Beautiful mountains and great fun drive. Tons of places to see and explore. Had a wonderful time.
A wonderous beautiful place where one can lose oneself or find oneself
This is a really good National Park. There is a lot to see here and really can’t be done in a day and a half. I went and saw the main sights. This park is closed for half of the year and a lot of the roads were in rough shape but it was still a neat park. There are lots of neat things to see. I would really recommend coming here, it is only two hours away from Seattle, if you live in the area or if you are considering visiting you should come.
I would highly recommend this drive. Very scenic!
Beautiful hikes! Great trails with incredible views. Stop by the Visitors' Center, it is very informative and family friendly!
Both of us too tired for hiking, although there are still so many trails I want to explore. Instead, went to Washington pass overlook - stunning and easy to get to.
The Switzerland of America. Steep mountains, wild valleys, views for miles. The ultimate wilderness.
A mix of recreation and true wilderness having conifer-clad mountains, glaciers and lakes. The North Cascades Highway passes viewpoints and leads to trails such as the steep Thunder Creek Trail.
Beautiful mountain views and lush vegetation. A nature lovers paradise.
Gorgeous National Park, we hired a boat at Ross Resort
