This Park is included in the category of State park.
Always a pleasure to sit out in the sun and veg
Great Drive in Camping. Larrabee has lots of great camp sites and is a great spot to go to the beach nearby and some pretty lakes. The beach isn’t that nice because of the smell and the seaweed but you can still take out a kayak or boat on the water. The only downside is the train nearby that goes by at night. It could keep you up.
Easy to get to and amazing sunsets, just the right way to spend the day. The park has wonderful facilities for everybody. The northern most bit has a small parking area and a boat launch. The main park is just south down the road and has camping, picnicking and lots of walking on about a mile of beach.
Great place to camp! Beautiful trails to the water and to various lakes. Nice tent sites with picnic tables and fire pits. Hear the train, but being forewarned it isn't so bad.
This is really beautiful park
Literal elves and gnomes everywhere casting magic spells. Very dangerous for humans or those without powerful magical armor
It's a small but pretty park on the water. It also has a small campground and boat ramp. The campsites are close together. It's a nice stop for a picnic or taking a dip in the sound, if you can handle the cold water!
Great place to camp and has quitea few trails around
Probably the only downside is the campground next to the train tracks - lots of hiking & site seeing opportunities + one of the best roads to ride on in the state
My fav spot in Whatcom county. So pretty and the air is just pure joy to breathe.
Beautiful park in a Beautiful setting. State Park so sites have more than average space between them. Access to Ocean beach. Negative is it is next to busy railroad track and train blows horn as it goes through the park.
Super gorgeous area!!! Camped here for one night and it was a lot of fun. The only negative is the train that runs every couple of hours... even at night and in the early morning... it is so loud...
We hiked to Fragrance Lake. The facilities are nice. I recommend going early, as parking was full by the time we returned from our hike. The hike tip fragrance lake was beautiful. I highly recommend it. The switchbacks get a little monotonous, but you can't beat the walk around the lake at the end!
Beautiful even on a rainy day trail doesn't get too wet
Friendly people clean well kept
It was so nice there!
Love , our state of Washington
Very beautiful scenery.
Barking dogs and fire pits smoking up our rv smilt like burning garbage left before we were ment to
Great place for camping hiking beach activities
One of my very favorite beaches to rockhound and relax!
Beautiful! Fun place to run around with the kids, exploring tide pools. If you go south on the Chuckanut, stop at Bow Blueberries. The kids (and you) can get fresh blueberry ice cream!
Have spent the last 2 weekends here camping and intending to spend more intermittently over the year I can say that this is an absolutely gorgeous state park with lots of trails to choose from! There's something for everyone-whether it's an easy hike along a gravel road, interurban trail to more moderate-difficult trails or mountain biking. Access to the beach, which is perfect for kayaking, paddle boarding, wildlife watching, etc. You have a lovely view of the San Juans. The campsite has a lot of noise, with the train going through 4-10 times or so in a 24 hour period and being right next to the road. The sound carries VERY well in this site-otherwise a 5 star place to go solo or take the family!
I hope people who go there and camp are able to sleep better then I did with that train please
Great spot to go explore some sealife at low tide
Beautiful park with tons of camping options. Nestled within beautiful trees and right next to the water!
There is a super steep start to this hike. But it levels out a bit after about 1/5 mile. The trail leads to multiple things. Including 2 lakes about 2 miles in.
Great camp ground. Beach is a downhill hike which gets old fast. Great views of the islands.
The park is gorgeous! But there are trains. It says you have to pay at the initial first building, but theres no staff in the winter that I saw. Very nice campsites!
A quiet retreat from the city of Bellingham
A magical place with grand trees. Buy a discover pass.
Beautiful view , huge park. Recommend it highly
Great camping, beach day use and trails.
Very pretty, a lot of beach areas and walking trails!
Beautiful views. Nice trail.
Too noisy trains run through the night and sound horns
Great Hike from cedar And pine lake trail to the lakes.and then to raptor ridge.view point. It's scary though feels like late June early July conditions in mid May.
Walk to the beach or up Chuckanut ridge to Fragrance Lake or Oyster Dome
Brought the family for a hike and went rick climbing. The sights were amazing
Nice camp site but the train noise is really noticeable
This is a true gem. It has been a favorite for the entire time we have lived here. There are hiking trails, beaches, and trains. You can never go wrong with trains.
Sweet trails for biking or hiking
Such a nice park! For camping, be forewarned, trains come through the park at all hour of the night.
Nice park, great picnic area and scenic.
Not too busy, beautiful park. Washington's first State Park
Not one of the best state parks in Washington State but it is good enough for communing with nature or just to have a whiff of the salty, fresh air coming from the ocean. The public restrooms are very surprisingly clean though. We did not see any sealife but we did see seagulls and red robins. Such a delightful visit!
Lakes, trails, saltwater beach, grassy areas and high viewpoints. What more could you ask for?!
Love this place but you have to pay to go there now. It's sad.
Love the place always stop there on our way to Bellingham have the nicest stuff I've ever seen
So beautiful! Very clean and a great place to take the family!
Great place, must come back!!
Inspirational views, epic sandstone formations. What's not to love?! Noctiluca loves to show off here late summer... bioluminescence!
A little park, a bit of trail, and a glorious stretch of beach accompanied by a lovely drive to reach the site. A great place for famiy gatherings, or just a day trip for no reason at all.
Great park with super views.
Very peaceful fall day with a gentle rain.
Really nice beach. Worth walking down, especially with low tide
Train after train after train!!! We paid for two nights of tent camping and only stayed one night. The trains were SO loud! All night! One was so loud and lasted so LONG around MIDNIGHT that you could hear people's comments from nearby tents! We cut our two night camping trip short and went home after breakfast
Beautiful old tree growth and great trails
Trains, lots if whistle blowing trains, all night and all day. In the other side of you on Chockonot drive, old ne. With fast cars and young motorcyclists speed down the windy road. Pretty but exhausting.
My family and I stopped by here on our way from Seattle to Vancouver and we had a nice, but brief time. The road in was scenic and fun, and the short walk to the beach was exactly what we were looking for. There were many locals using the playground and volleyball court We were glad to be visiting on a rare "Free Entry" day, because we would not have paid the $10 entry fee, not would we really recommend it for a tourist on the road
Beautiful views in a great setting. Nice beach...
Such a gorgeous view after a fun hike.
A single Park Ranger took it upon herself to affect our entire weekend. We were having a conversation by the fire at our campsite 15 minutes after quiet time and were very hostily told "I shouldn't hear you from the road, quiet time started at ten and that was a while ago". First, the road is very close. Second, it was only fifteen minutes after quiet time and this was our first warning. The next day we got in trouble for being in a camping spot we shouldn't have been able to reserve? No mention of this upon check in and nothing the night before from the same Ranger in the same campsite? They "allowed us" to keep our site for the second and final night. I literally felt harassed at a certain point. We had responsibly reserved our site, paid the additional parking fee and tolerated the train going by every hour. So much for camping here again.
Nice area for launching. Has public restrooms. Great view of the water!
Amazingly clean campsite with well maintained washrooms...campers were quiet and the camp grounds were great...there is firewood and ice on sale at the site The beach is within walking distance..only suggestion is to bring ear plugs for the train that runs through the park and audible throughout the night
The trail down is really easy, and lots of look outs, but at high tide the beach is pretty small. Very beautiful place!
Great place to hike. Check out scenic views.
Taking advantage a big snow storm here in Bellingham. Beautiful evening skiing on the interurban trail by moonlight!!
Beautiful drive out from Fairhaven to the park and then a really spectacular trail network through the forest to the beach. Make it an outing and then continue to the Breadfarm for the most amazing pastries and baked goods! Don't miss out on the fresh oysters either, sold at a few locations further down the road from the park.
Worth it. I hiked. I am not a hiking but I made itm
Campsites are ridiculously close together. Also way too much road and train noise. Beautiful scenery, great location but not much of a camping experience, look elsewhere
Oysterdome and fragrance lake are my favorites.
Nice park with many hiking trails
Great place to launch the boat. BUT, Don't fail to HANG your Discover Pass. They don't seem to be able to look at the dash to ascertain that one does have a Pass when placing your ticket under the wipers. :/
A nice park with great views of the water. There's lots of parking and a campsite nearby.
From Colorado. Great little area. Fun to hop around on the rocks and look at the crabs. I was told years ago there were starfish, but that they've died off due to disease, climate change and other reasons. Beautiful area and a great drive to get here.
Gorgeous place. Really well kept and maintained.
Visited in the Evening. Not crowded. Easy little hike.
Lots of trains, nice beach, good hiking
Beautiful!!! Couldn't even hear the train as it passed by and felt totally at peace with nature
The perfect Pacific Northwest mini adventure. Ferns Sandstones for trees. Quiet beautiful hiking trails
Such a beautiful park!! The water was super clear... There was a Blue Herring eating sushi
Absolutely Amazing place. Sunsets are breathtaking....
Larrabee state park is great because it has year round trails, easy access and though it requires a Discover pass generally, it is worth it. My special needs son loves walking on the trails or down to the water. One of our winter go-to spots.
Great park to visit and camp. Just be careful not to camp too close to the trains, because they will disturb sleep at night!
One of my favorite parks in washington state. Lots of cool trails and awesome beach to explore
Amazon place. I highly recommend it.
Larrabee State Park is truly a fantastic place to visit. The drive is just gorgeous, the grounds are well kept, the tide pools are perfect for people of ALL ages to enjoy, and the trails are beautiful. There’s a nice little playground, tons of hiking and beautiful views. Discovery pass required!
Great park to hike/free climb along the water!
The go-to spot for most Bellingham residents. There is definitely no shortage of things to do in Larrabee whether that's kayaking, hiking, rock climbing, camping, or having a picnic. It's usually not to hard to find parking but I think you need a Discover Pass. I think the Discover pass is a yearly fee of like $35 so it's worth it as long as you go out a few times a year...
Great place for a short walk down a few trails. Great beach and place to just relax and enjoy nature.
You wouldn't like it. Stay up in BC instead.
It's a very good place
Awesome place for bouldering and sun bathing on the rocks.
These reviews are skewed af and manipulated... the train runs through here MULTIPLE times a night and makes it impossible to sleep. Great during the day, horrible for camping.
If you're a mountain biker, try taking the Ridge to the north and then south lost lake trails to ride a really fun loop that's slightly less technical than double diamond and double down!
It was great but if you dont like trains it's not the place to camp. Trains pass by every couple hours even throughout the night
Wonderful park! Train traffic is the only downside here.
Washington's first state park! Wonderful facilities and access to water and an ampithereter. Location has some nice climbing surfaces that locals have made access too and permanently attached clip ins.
Very beautiful with lots of trails for hiking, a campground and picnic areas with public bathrooms. There is a $10 parking fee if you don't have a discover pass. Discover passes cost $30 for a year and you can use them at any Washington State Park.
This was a beautiful place to visit, even at high tide. I understand it low tide you can see intertidal sea creatures which I'm sure is fun. Scrambling on the rocks was great!
Beautiful Place to hike and explore the beach. Stunning stretch of coast line to tide pool, and amazing sandtone cliffs. Not the best camping location as it is right next to the rail line, pretty steady flow of trains at all hours. It can also be pretty busy during the summer. But there is a big grassy area to have lunch if you come for a day trip.
Its a very good park. Is it a great park? Probably not. I would have liked a bit less rubbish, a few more informative signs to stare at. It has potential. Nice part of the world.
Showers are hot and free at the moment see you there! Calling this home for awhile
We loved Larrabee Park! It is a Beautiful Park.
Beautiful park with great sites. I really like tent site 24. It is on the side farthest from the train tracks and is next to a massive boulder that is very weathered. Beware that kids love to play on the boulder so you may have some camp neighbors near your site if you stay here.
Beautiful and tranquil place
Nice enough campground but loud trains close by.
Freedom on the other side of the tracks. Painted trees and two separate beaches. Bioluminescence algee in the night.
Nice views, some beach access.
This is Washington's first state park. It has beautiful trails, grassy area, awesome views, access to beach, . IMO, not a good choice for camping as it is right next to the rail line. Very well maintained. You can do hiking as well. If you are coming from Seattle, make sure to take exit-231 from I-5 and come by WA-11. You would enjoy beautiful Chuckanut drive.
Some think different to see
Great access to the sound, park, and great campsites. RV hookups and clean bathrooms and showers.
Absolutely beautiful and well-kept. This is exactly the kind of wilderness I expect from Washington
Fragrance Lake hike is 1100 feet of elevation gain through a gorgeous forest.
Beautiful park, but VERY noisy from the train. At least every hour (throughout the night, too) of loud screeching and horns. Do not expect to sleep much if you're camping.
Been going here for years. Several accessible hiking trails. Up into the hills or down to the water, your choice!
it's a very fun place to go lots of wildlife easy access to the beach for the most part and it's large area so that you don't feel you're on top of everyone when there's a lot of people there.the camping area can be a little bit more attrusive because the raccoons are not afraid of anybody and they will get into everything The squirrels are also the same way
Great park, close to Bellingham, loud train, mediocre beach.
While the Train noise may be annoying to some, the times we camped there those trains were like having a distant freight train go through one side of your dream and go right out the other side, hearing it's horn blowing in the far distance. We liked it. The highway noise can be heavier on weekends but tames down at night. Restrooms were always clean and the main restroom has showers with real toilets ... not the drop and plop ones.
First time on the Two Dollar trailer to Fragrance Lake. Loved it. Plenty of up hill along with plenty of views of Chuckanut Bay and a pretty waterfall. Continued up Double Diamond trail to Cyrus Gates overlook. One long, steep mile. All in all, a great 9 1/4 mile hike in the PNW drizzle.
Glad to be here, can't wait to come back!
One of the best kept secrets of Washington state. Sorry for ruining it locals. I'm a local Google guide and I have a code I must live by. Even if they don't pay me and never mentioned a code. I do get digital points that keep going up and up.
This is my favorite beach in Whatcom County! It's unbelievably beautiful! They have a very nice park for kids to play, and lots of room for them to run. Beautiful hiking trails around the water. Gorgeous place to watch the sunset!
Fairly quick moderate hike. Another piece of wonderful nature.
Not bad...but they could make it nicer! The trails need a little work
The campground is great but the trains running through the park are very frequent and extremely loud. Even in the middle of the night
The views were amazing and we loved walking some of the trails. Points lost for living at an angle for a week - protip 'hard to level' means a 12% grade.
Very pretty and easy hike that gives a great view over a lake, don't think you can go in the lake though since the water didn't seem super clean.
This is such a fun place to shuttle. Lots of other trails on the mountain, but I haven't explored them yet.
Good for family bonding,friends picnic.
Loved it nice and quiet and loads of photo opportunity
It was a nice camp with nice people and some cool spots but there is a lot of train noise and traffic
Beautiful trails and moderately trafficked
Such a beautiful campground. The trains are close though.
Nice park to walk your dogs on the beach and around!
Crowed and awesome! Clean park and beaches. Lost to do and see.
Nice quiet retreat for day use. Shore is somewhat limited yet the view is quiet and peaceful. the sandstone rocks present an interesting getaway for kids to climb around tidepools at low tide and there are good restrooms, an open meadow and kid playground close to the beach.
Beautiful scenery. Interesting history. Old growth forest and water.
No boat dock. For what the state charges to boat or fish, there's no excuse for not having a dock here other than sheer greed and stupid liberals accepting getting screwed by the state. Absolutely no ramp etiquette from other people. Most rude, selfish and inconsiderate people I've ever encountered.
Always serene fantastic trails incredible hikes
One of my favorite places as a child - and still is- as a woman
Okay, so this review is based on a very limited stay, just a quick stopover to sleep while on a roadtrip. If you are trying to sleep in the campground be advised that there will be very loud trains blowing their horn coming through every few hours all night. Wish I had known, so just wanted to make others aware. Scenery is still great.
Absolutely beautiful!!! Quiet, peaceful, cathartic, clean, safe. Great little escape when you want to relax. The tower is awesome. My husband and I climbed to the top. What a view!! Don't miss this one.
Lovely park. Beautiful nature, nice hiking trails & lookouts, and a cute beach.
Well managed camping ground and area. Very nice restroom.
Really beautiful ❤️ A very quiet, secluded area to get your Zen back.
Great views, great elements and a timeless view and feelings
I luv,luv this quaint little park. First off you must park up high in a lot...then you get to hike down a small mountain side into an area where a small part of the Pacific waters come in to form a half moon bay. You can walk the shore or swim even boat around the cove. It is one of Washington's best places to take sunset pics as well. It is very relaxing and usually a respected place.
Larrabee State Park has beautiful views of the Puget Sound, Olympic Mountains and the surrounding scenery.
I was here for a visit and stopped to do some hiking. The park has some amazing trails! Can't wait to move to Bellingham so I can start enjoying the beautiful landscape!
It's not very well marked but this little baby you'll have a great spot to picnic and to have an adventure. Boy wish we would have had some kayaks cuz we would have gone out for sure! Will be back to try this spot because it's just way too pretty not to.
A Good Park. Bring water shoes and spend the day here!
Awesome views and some of the best mountain bike trails in the area.
Beach is awesome for wading and exploring. Fun tidepools and our little ones love the trains going by every once in awhile too.
Awesome place to go and see the ocean and have a picnic
Beautiful, challenging hiking.
Great beach like it alot
