An incredibly beautiful island that is the ideal setting for a scout / school campout or even just a family picnic. Do mind the new dock though as it can be tricky when the tides flowing hard.

Great place to visit if you have a boat. You can tie up to a buoy on the east side of the island but be prepared for some rocking because of the Washington State Ferries that pass by regularly except late at night. Another option is to tie up to to the dock on the west side, which is available from late spring to early fall. Enjoy great views by hiking the loop trails. Take a photo of the map on the park sign board.

I've been to James island many times it's a beautiful place but there's usually a very strong current at the dock so be careful.

Great spot for a picnic or overnight, land or dock. The Straits side buoys have some ferry boat wakes to help rock you to sleep...or not.

Love this place. Very accessible, lovely island. Many views walking along the island trails and exploring the pocket beaches. The new dock is much larger with more docking space available. Watch out for swirling currents often opposite the direction of the current in the straits when docking. Also, watch out for the raccoons if you are camping on shore at night. They are cute but mischievous!

Nice facility with excellent tie up for boats, they need to update their oil brochure, they need to update their well brochure

Perfect place for my dog to swim. Great new dock accept now the big boats take up all the space so we can no longer stay the night anymore.. we love stopping as it's so beautiful.

Affordable space to more my boat for a night Someone decided to move my boat without my permission so they could fit their yacht in. I was 150 feet away and had offered to move it myself.
