Wooded trails galore. Camp grounds offer RV and tent sites. Great views. Bald eagles, birds and squirrels aplenty. My favorite park to walk/hike with my dogs.

Barbara Tyson

Gerald Purviance

Really fun

D Zumwalt

Best camping and hiking on the island. The bunkers are fun for the kids and the hiking is easy. The views are amazing!! You can see the Olympics and most of the sounds.

D Brekke

Tha best!! Beach, bluffs, views, old growth forest, history with the military relics, clean restrooms for state park standards . . . Just wish is was still open year round. February used to be my favorite time to come here. Group camp is a tremendous value. My wife and I got married there!!! So you know I think is special!! Lotsa trails, most easy, some a little more difficult. Great for a day trip and a picnic. Great too for a multi-day camping trip. So much to see and explore, plus cool local communities and attractions. Whidbey island is awesome. If you come out here, make sure you take the ferry one way, and drive over Deception Pass the other. Both worthwhile experiences!!

Matias Faundez

Great park with plenty of trails, forest and coast to go around. We’ll come back to camp next summer

Brian Sundberg

Super beautiful place to camp. Camp sites are well kept

I officiated at the bluff a few years back. Great trails, gorgeous views.

Geoff Zerbe

Great park with a cool bunker to explore and amazing views.

S.P. Dudley

Walked the beach trail and absolutely loved the mix of forest and beach/cliff views. Go all the way to the beach to see all the deadwood washed up onshore. The park is a favorite of hangliders as well, so be sure to check them out.

Kimberly Cannon

Beautiful park. Nice hiking trails.

Jami Sheets

Really nice trails, bluff trail was gorgeous. Planning a camping trip for later this summer!

Phillip McCready

Nice trails. Get away from the Bluff Trail for more quiet.

Tamera Young

Lovely from the beach to the overlook where I watch people paraglide.

Meagan Glenn

This spot is great to explore. There are several trails, and campsites, to venture through. The Bluff trail is my personal favorite. Your need a Discover Pass ($30/yr) and it is dog friendly! There is a little history to discover here, but I also find myself just coming out here for an hour hike. The campsites here are peaceful and the location is perfect for a weekend getaway.

Tim Burton

Nice rural countryside on the via Whidbey island.

Jaron Stewart

Our family loves this Park! We have seen Sea otters, Eagles nesting, and even sea lions a couple times. Lots of beautiful easy hikes.

Shaun Murray

Not as extravagant as Fort Flagler or Worden but it's a beautiful area. Great place to camp and usually not too terribly busy. Many of the sites are fairly private. Apparently you can hang glide there too. Lots of trails and the beach on the far side of the park is very nice. Lots of trails to hike around the area and if you want to go to a bigger fort, Casey is less than five minutes away. I try to camp here at least once a year.

José Manuel Álvarez Guerrero

It is a fantastic park. I only give it four stars because of the same reason as with other parks: not enough action is being taken to remove invasive plants from precious sites. However, I am tempted to give five stars because of the following: -There are native cacti growing here. Opuntia fragilis is very abundant on one section of the bluff. -Northern alligator lizards live here. I found a pregnant female. -It seems to be pretty good habitat for some nonnative slugs, because I found a leopard slug and a melanistic rufous arion that were twice the normal size. Maybe even bigger than the average banana slug. -The pacific rhododendrons are gorgeous even when they're not in bloom, and it's nice to see them being abundant and producing seed (most if not all the ones I saw had seed pods) -The amount of nonnative invasive forbs inside the forest is minimal, they are nearly absent around the campgrounds. -The salal berries I found here were the best I've ever had. -The view of the sunset with the Olympics and the coast ranges of Vancouver island is priceless. And so is the view of the Kitsap and Olympic peninsulas during night. -The clay formations on the loose parts of the bluff are pretty rad. -Surf scoters and brants were feeding at the kelp forest visible from the bluff (in August!). -I found a rare parasitic plant at the bottom of the bluff right next to the beach. It was a completely unexpected but fascinating find. I had such a blast during my time here.

Tony Rhee

Cool views. Not really a good beach park.

Sharon Richardson

The camping is wonderful. The views are Fantastic.

Dan Lundberg

Lots of Racoons raiding campsites at night. But overall, a nice experience.

Michelle Canfield

Nice park, secluded campsites, lots of trails. Beach is not great for strolling, very rocky. Fort Casey is close by and interesting to visit.

Brook Bowers

Nice quiet beach (weekday in late April). Perfect easy get away for the day. Within minutes of being there saw a river otter swim by, a bald eagle land on the tree behind us eying the four legged 3lb meal on a leash, and swarms of seagulls preying on two schools of feeding frenzy. Short hike with two switchbacks from parking lot to beach.

Andrey Gusakov

Very nice forest for those who like active weekends or just some touch of wilderness. Great views of the ocean. Note, that it has significant attitude drops and gains.

Jeffrey Valdes

Beautiful wide open park with long winding trails. Really nice for taking pictures

Audrey Butler

Camping, beach, trails....loved it!

Jackie Rinehart

Beautiful State Park and great views. It would be nice to return someday to also watch paragliding.

EMC

This park has beautiful seaside views and many hiking, and biking trails through old forests. The trails are well marked but maps are available at the entrance and highly recommended.

Kevin Flynn

We explored the gun battery area and walked a little bit of the bluff trail, then drove to the beach area and did the short hike down to it. Great place

Dean Sevigny

Great place!

RS4 Havok

Great hikes, with miles of varying terrain.

Justin Perry

A really cool park on beautiful Whidbey Island. There is a lot to do and is definitely worth the trip out from Seattle if you're staying longer than a few days. Breathtaking views, beaches, bluffs, forests, and an old explorable abandoned fort. So much of what the Northwest has to offer packed into one park!

colton

Fantastic way to spend a days hike. We love taking our girls out here to explore. Would also be a great place to walk your dogs. There is always somewhere new to explore with the many trails Fort Ebey has to offer. The lake and waterfront are fantastic and peaceful. Highly recommend for a days outing.

DB McDonough

Fort Ebey State Park is a great place to start exploring Whidbey Island because this is where Colonel Isaac N.Ebey started his exploration of the island and also died here during a revenge killing. He died at the hand of Hatain native men. He was the first non native resident of the island. Today it is a great place to enjoy a picnic, stroll the beach, skip rocks, explore whatever is brought out by the tides, and just have a great time.

Valerie Gerry

Beautiful park! Very nice and spacious camp sites!

Lacey Muñoz

Great place to hang

Jimmy Carroll

Great place for a beach walk

Kaye

No mosquitoes today. Awesome. Love the Pacific Northwest! The smell of the ocean and color of the water and sounds of the birds.

Molly Sherwin

Great park with access to trails. Beautiful views and places to picnic.

MatthewWainani VAnWetter

Clean facilitys, helpful and friendly workers. One of the best matained state park I've visited! Will visit again.

Maria Casillas-Witt

Oh my its so pretty here

Andrew Gormley

My favorite state park camping of the bunch that I've been to. The bluffs provide a breath taking view.

Russell Collins

Close enough for a day trip but far enough to feel like an adventure. The bluff trail connecting the beach with the bunkers is only a mile long but the views are great and it's well maintained. There are more and more people surfing every time I come back. The kelp beds seem to be returning steadily too so expect to see more and more stuff going on in the water each trip back.

Corinna Landsberger

We had a great time camping here. The campground is maintained very well. It is at a beautiful location. We will definitely come back

Zach Szablewski

Coastal park with bluff veiwpoints, thick forest, and unique kettles formed by receding ice from former glacial activity.

Vee Pia

This place is so beautiful. They have trails that you can run on or take your pet. The view is gorgeous and you can actually sit on one of the park benches and just watch boats on the water or watch deer grazing the grasses. They have what looked to be a bunker that you can walk through. Really good for picnics.

Dan Fisher II

Great Park! Spectacular trail system. Relatively clear with the signs (Has got some HUGE slugs!)

Laurrie Piland

The only reason this wasn't 5 stars is they need to have their septic tank emptied. We had an amazing time.

Andrew F

Great place to camp with a TON to do nearby. I'd recommend campsite 6 for tent campers as it's private and fairly close to the restroom.

Trenton Turner

Amazing park, great trails, nice beach. And the park ranger is pretty good looking too

Cindy Ahern

Was really nice and clean would of been nice if they had the things labeled so you knew what everything was but it was still a really nice place

Patrick Fisher

Great views of Puget Sound.

Pamela Kerr

Beautiful

Justin Pierson

Awesome views and trails everywhere.

Michelle Nicholson

This park is located right off hwy 20 the turn off is easy to miss. A few sites have power and water most are non-service sites. Sites are level and shaded and provide some privacy. No sani-dump at the park. No playground but nice amphitheater and junior ranger program. Pay showers, clean restrooms. Nice woods with lots of shade and lots of trails on park map. Bluff trail leads from campground along bluff to fort batteries and gun placements. Lots of brown grass in late August. The trail is a little rough but has good switchbacks downhill to ocean shore. Parking at beach access and small lake is not suitable for RV’s.

Mark Tellius

Fort Ebey was built on Pigeon Point in 1942 as a World War II coastal defense near the mouth of Puget Sound. The fort included a battery of two 6-inch guns that were later cut up for scrap. The state first acquired the land through the purchase of 204 acres from the Federal government in 1965. Additional acquisitions were made between 1968 and 1974, adding nearly 24 acres to the site. The park reached its present size of 435 acres through a purchase from the Department of Natural Resources and a land swap arrangement with a private owner in 1990 and 1997. The park was established in 1981.

Jeffery Hogan

Fort Ebey State Park is the perfect place for a day trip going through the scenic loop. Amazing views, lots of Wildlife to see and boat traffic as well. ⛵

Lisa Salazar

Very nice campsites. Plenty of water and trash bins. Clean bathrooms andv showers

GC Sinclaire

Great place to walk the dogs.

Mary Staples

Another great place to see while you were here on the Island

Heidi Lytle

Beautiful, spacious campsites in woodland park. A bit disappointed we weren't close to the water as depicted in web photos. Hiking trails are narrower and steeper than we like, as we have to push special needs son in mobility stroller.

westyworld

Forgotten State Park a short drive from a the Whidbey Island ferries. Lots of Junior Ranger activities for the family.

CAROLYN SMITH

Beautiful Beaches!!

DubEuro

Secluded and beautiful. Allot of first come first serve camp sites by the bluff. Make sure you already have your Discover pass I don't believe there is a way to by them here.

Wilson

Beautiful park

AJ Rhoads

Neat place. Found lots of cool rocks to tumble and maybe cut

Patrick C

Short 300m walk down from car park. Went on a summer weekday so there were half dozen people total we saw. It is a state park, so there is a fee. Beautiful views out west, with Olympic, San Juan Islands, maybe even part of Canada.

Kay King

Wonderful trails to get lost on. And I mean that in a good way.

randy gutierrez

Beautiful scenery well maintained

Trevor W

Would recommend had a good time and there us flush toilets

Fort Ebey State Park is a 645-acre camping park on Whidbey Island. In World War II the park was build as a defense fort but now is a gem in history. Visitors can enjoy walking around the park where there are concrete platforms which mark historical gun locations. The park also has three miles of saltwater shoreline on the Strait of Juan de Fuca, where visitors can fish, hike, and bike. Fort Ebey State Park campground has 50 campsites. There are 39 standard campsites, 11 utility campsites with electricity and water hook-ups, and one water trail campsite. The campground has drinking water, one restroom, and two showers available. The campsites can accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs. In addition to camping, the campground/park has 2 large fields that is great for sports activities. There is also designated picnic area for visitors to enjoy. Finally, Fort Ebey State Park is open year round. Campsites reservations are available for arrivals May 15 through Sep 15.

Joseph Woodford

Clean and quiet; but well worth visit.

73statay

Such a great place to take your family. We just picked up our son after his boyscout troop had an ivernightwr. The kids loved hanging out at the beach and hiking the yrails. The fort is amazing- bring a flashlight because it is dark too. Not a place for Littles to run around but there is plenty of grass for that. The light house is also a cute museum and I highly recommend you visit that.

S D LAWRENCE

Beautiful, fascinating history, tons of hiking trails, and big, flat grassy bluffs to rest. Picnic tables, camping - don't miss it!

Jerry Lewis

Miles of walking trails through the woods and above the seashore with beautiful views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. There are some remains of armaments from World War II which were designed to protect our harbor.

H L

Wow!! What a great place! I arrived late at the campsite and was eager the check out the park the next day. When I cycled up to the fort area I was blown away! It is incredibly beautiful and the fort was so cool to walk around in. There seemed to be lots of trails but I didn't get a chance to explore them. Great campground, a little bit of a trek in on the bike. But if you are driving by, it is well worth at least making a quick stop!

james lutes

Great camp ground with a ton of activities. We took bikes on to the ferry over to Port Townsend rode bikes. Came back to walk the beach and watch the sunset.

Randy Hunt

The park offers several hiking trails, beautiful views of Puget Sound and plenty of picnic tables, bathrooms and water fountains. Fort Ebey is similar to Fort Casey but smaller and less polished. Both are worth a visit.

Ben Vanderkooy

Cool forts and trails!

Tom Kruger

I love Fort Ebey. It's my favorite state park on Whidbey Island. The little bunkers are fun, it's easy access to the rest of the island for day activities, and there's a great campground. The Bluff Trail is particularly beautiful in the fall and spring.

Mel Rocky

Make sure watch the sunset then star gazing at night

Gabriel Bozeman

Great park with an old WWII bunker! Great place to hike, bike, or enjoy the sun.

Carlos Cruz

A great place to visit and see history's

Peter A.

Great stop. The volunteers were most helpful, had interesting knowledge, and were very nice. It looks like there are quite a few trails. We just did the short hike to the cabin and read the history. Fascinating.

Conscientious objector In the Ham

always a pleasure to visit Fort Ebey. Rich in history, one can only imagine the events that took place here; the secrets left behind through those who were stationed there, and quietly kept in the landmarks left behind. it's always a windy day at Fort Ebey, but nothing that will discourage an adventurous individual.

Daryl Hoffman

Great park with trails and wildlife. We took a 4 mile hike along the bluff and then inland on various trails. We saw deer driving in. A 2 year old eagle in a tree along the bluff and on an inland trail we saw a mother Barred owl with two baby owls. What an awesome day!

J Snider

A cool old WWII fort that you can actually go inside. The area we were in was pretty small though and busy. Still worth a visit just knocking a star.

Matthew Monroe

Great views plus an easy to access gun battery (no gun) and underground observation bunker. Dark tunnels with amazing reverb can be explored by flashlight.

David krajnc

Gorgeous! Fun for all

Joshua Beeler

Amazing views and camping

Milton Soditch

fun place to explore,

Sarah King

Awesome place great view, not too many safety features, anyone afraid of heights might want to look from a distance.

Ken Rudberg

Beautiful bluff views of Puget Sound. Great forest trails as well as some great campsites.

Nathaniel Moseley

Love mountain biking here! Has easy trails, hard trails, good views, parking. What more could you ask for?

Helen Edley

This had been on our bucket list for years and we finally made it to hike Ebey bluffs trail. There was some fog and some smoke from the forest fires, but it didn’t detract from our enjoyment.

Jack Vos

Amazing elevated views of the Olympic Mountains and trails leading through plenty of wildlife. The deer will walk within 10 feet of you here. Great place to take your dog and hike for the day.

Sean Craft

The seaside bluffs are breathtaking and the beach is pretty neat with all the driftwood on hand.

Kate Spahn

Great hiking trails! Beautiful views

Alex Generalov

Another perfect 1-day getaway on Puget Sound. Scenic views, easy hikes, wonderful small towns nearby. In fact, I shouldn’t have shared it and let it stay a hidden gem.

Ryan Thrower

Unbelievable how beautiful this park is. The bluff trail reminds me of the Matt Davis trail in Marin. There is a fantastic trail race every March here!!

Denese Kjargaard

I remember coming here as a teenager, maybe even before it was a state park!? It was rumored that Bigfoot lived in the forest here! Hah! Now it's a beautiful park with lots of trails & a nice campground. Oh, and the people who work in the office, which usually isnt open in the winter, are super nice & helpful!

Brandy Crabb

This park is on woodbie island you need a day pass or if you have a season pass your good. Beautiful sand beach. So peaceful. The have a full boat launch there as well. Not a buddy launch pad so you will be in and out.

piers Emonds-Banfield

I got list at my orienteering meet. Make the park easier pls. Park.

Seth Steben

Beautiful park with miles of trails, gorgeous views, and a touch of history. The campground has some very nice sites, with mixed use trails leaving right from the campground down into the Kettles area, which is very interesting geologically. Kettles are essentially holes formed in the landscape by large chunks of ice breaking off of glaciers then being buried in the dirt and rock scraped off by the glacier. When things warmed up and the glaciers receded, the chunks of ice melted leaving a unique landscape. The bluff area with the WWII bunkers is amazing. The views of the Straits cannot be beat. Watching a sunset here is well worth the visit. Standard state park pricing and amenities, only a few partial utility sites. Campground closed for a few months in winter (Nov-March I believe)

Jonathan Flaherty

Nice park for beach and trail walking.

christine childs

It's windy here, especially in the winter! Bring that jacket! Great place to fly a kite or have a picnic. There are old world war 2 tunnels you can walk through as well. You can also rent an old barrick room, but I'm not sure if the price. We just go for the day. Sunset is gorgeous here!

Reeny and David Pomeroy

Lots of great trails for hiking and biking. Great views from the bluff and easy beach access.

Benjamin Maund

A hidden gem. Ended up camping at Ebey after Deception Pass campgrounds were full. We are glad we ended up at such a beautiful spot. The campgrounds are clean and well maintained. The fort area is gorgeous and has picnic tables and charcoal stoves. Staff is friendly!

Raelene Hayes

I only visited part of the beach area today, but it was beautiful and sandy, surrounded by gorgeous forests. There were 3 picnic tables here, none too close together so you could still have some privacy. The trails were narrow, but well kept. There's a bathroom on the way into the park, and I think I saw a sign near this area for another restroom. I saw 3 deer along the roadside as I was driving out.

Susan Stuart

Fun to explore the fort area. Take a flashlight to get a good, safe look at the underground bunker areas. If you are lucky, arrange the weather is sunny with moderate winds... you'll get to see all the hang gliders and especially paragliders floating around on the air currents right off the cliffs that the old fort is entrenched in. Lots of colorful and graceful parachute gliders; without any use of loud motors; just wind currents.

Vince Valenzuela

Spot was great, bathroom could have used a cleaning. Price was mediocre for what you got. Would overall reccomend

Dan Rodriguez

This park is one of my favorite places in the world. It's a great mix of bluff hiking trails, camping, and beach hiking. The camping is tucked into the woods a bit and out of the wind. The bluff trails pass through many old bunkers and spot light houses. I recommend this park to anyone looking to get out without going too far.

Joe

I really enjoyed this place went camping for a week with some of my friends and their family great bike trails and walking trails and the fort is really cool beautiful sunset down by the fort

Richard Ohana

Really beautiful ocean side campground. The campsites are relatively small so you can't be too loud without upsetting your neighbors. Also the staff seem to have some organizational problems regarding receiving payment for a spot, distributing a car tag, and checking the tags. Other than those two things, these are awesome campsites.

Cecile McVittie

Beautiful forest and very cool trails! Wishing I had my bike with me!!

Joe Haskett

Great place to relax at and enjoy nature at its finest

Jenava Sexton

The most beautiful place on earth

Travis Fullner

Sweeping views of both the ocean and the prairies behind you. Plus we found 6 agates on the beach! Bonus.

Rich Delane Willard

Six years of our group camping here at Vista group camp site says we love it. Two nights included this year some moderate rain at night and sun by day. Hiking from the ridge to the beach and back, exploring the historic bunkers, campfires permitted--great times to be had here.

Caitlin Whitehead

Amazing view from the cliff, but it's a bit dangerous to get too close. If you like old buildings, there is the main facility for the gun battery (the guns have since been removed, but the mounts are still there), plus at least two look out places to view the water from, lookout points from when the fort was active. The first lookout point is near where the main battery is, just down the hill, but to find the second one, you have to take the mile track down the shore trail and pay attention. The campsite was clean and well-maintained when we arrived, and even though we got there after when we were supposed to check in, one of the park rangers came by and gave us our pass as we were finishing breakfast the next day (but we did sleep in). All of the rangers who we interacted with were very nice and helpful. The only issues with the entire trip where things outside of the control of those maintaining the site. The big two issues were that the longer that we stayed at our campsite, the more hornets decided to join us in our camping excursion. No one got stung but honestly, it was pretty scary trying not to get them in the car as we were loading. The other thing was that the Whidbey Naval Air Station is close enough nearby to hear their planes, so there are military planes flying over at any time of the day. Overall, it was a very relaxing trip with wonderful views and creepy cool history. Video game accompaniment for this trip before or after: Oxenfree.

Trudy Noll

Very nice historical state park. Neat learning about the history and experiencing the views they saw, including seeing boats passing by. Unfortunately no whales, maybe next time! We went on a Sunday on a free state park day, so it was busy, but not too busy to enjoy everything! We did some hiking as well
