REVIEWS OF Daroga State Park IN Washington

Jonathan Hurley

It's a good park but if you do the primitive camping you have to get a wheel barrel and carry all your stuff about a 1/4 of a mile. There is no vehicle's permitted anywhere close to the primitive camping so beware if you have a lot if stuff

SamuelBrittany Meyer

Really beautiful camping spot - not a fan of the power lines though. The sites were really spacious as well.

Yang Yang

Our church has a group camping site here for two nights. This is a very beautiful park with water & hill view. The facility is clean. The trial along the river is very flat and about 1.3 miles single trip, the view is fantastic. Be cautious about gaze at 6pm as this place is in the valley, I saw someone's camp has been blowed away.

Edward Wink

Great view. Spot we picked is not the most level but I'm a hunter so I can make it level. No full hook up with sewer in case you were wondering. Showers cost money and are not the greatest. Great summer site.

Liz Ryburn

it was okay, until a HUGE storm blew down our tent and we had a flash flood, very very high winds and a LOT of lightning. but other then the storm it was fun

Raven May

Robert Kabelitz

Excellent group areas for families.

Denisse Alatyore

It's really fun to hang around with the family there with a playground and nice to walk or run

Ben Nelson

Open grass fields, beach, camping for both trailers and walkin tent camping, boat launch, sports fields, walking trails, shelters, play structures. This is a beautiful state park, beautifully maintained, and always a good time. Due to its location on the Columbia River, some nights can get very windy, which can be destructive to tents, awnings, and anything not battened down.

Gorgeous and covered in cute shells. Clean, private, and cool

On the way home from a different state park we decided to stop by here and check it out. Glad we did! This park is pretty big, with lots to do. Some of the things we saw: a beach, tennis courts, horseshoes, and lots of trails throughout. The tent site camping is on a peninsula, quite a walk down but they provide wheel barrows to haul your equipment in, and it's beautiful down there. We'll be going back soon!

Campsite: This was a beautiful and small campsite - $12/night. It’s a walk-in about 1/4 mile - they are a handful of wheelbarrow carts provided so you can carry your stuff in with some ease. Each tent site has an “L” shaped fence around it - great for privacy but also great for the crazy winds which were fairly warm but also provided a much needed breeze. There were a ton of bugs, not sure what kind - mostly in the grasses. They didn’t bite or anything, just clouds of them around. Bathrooms: two bathrooms by tent camping - like porta potty inside, no sinks but still well kept. Near lake is bathroom with showers - SUPER clean bathroom. Free cold water showers, also takes tokens for hot water and better water pressure. Swimming: water was nice and crisp, perfect after sunbathing! Family friendly, clean, fairly quiet (we were surrounded by families with multiple small children), beautiful view. Would definitely come back!

Beautiful park, awesome camping... but this wind!!! Very annoying when the wind comes out to play. Also, there's bird droppings everywhere.

Charlie Whiton

Quaint state campground with very nice view and generous size spots. Green grass, very nice play area with beach and safe swimming. Only odd thing are the massive power towers running through it. You don't notice then after a while, and not much they could about it...trees maybe?

Stacey Smith

Great place for family camping with full facilities. Open spaces for a big group and even individual spaces for single family stays. They have a swimming area that is corded off and a boat launch. They offer bags of ice and bathrooms with showers, there are also RV hook ups for power, water and there is a single sewer dump for the tanks right next to the guard shack. Place is well kept.

Michael Hill

Daroga is a good place to get exercise. It's about a 1 mile roundtrip to the parking lot or showers/swim area from the furthest campsite. We happen to be there during a lightning storm, very thrilling! Plenty of large open fields, folks kayaking, fishing. The highway can be loud but what can you do about it.

Oasis of green lawn in Columbia river surrounded by scablands of Columbia Basin, beautiful views. Though there are high power lines above the park with loud buzzing, a little bit weird.

Electric car charging station FTW! Campsites on the island are a long walk, but each site has enough space so you don't feel on top of each other despite being in an almost open field

What a great campground, we had the best time. Paddleboating, and fishing and biking!!

Michelle Lahd

Beautifully well-kept park on the east side of the Columbia River between Wenatchee and Chelan. Small elect/water campground (28 spaces) well-laid-out plus many primitive campsites in another area. Lots to do even for a day outing. Walking/biking trails, swimming, playground, fishing, a boat dock, tennis, lots of green space, trees and birds. The one thing some may find undesirable are the power line towers, but it's just a reminder about our wonderfully inexpensive hydro power provided by our PUDs . Highly recommend .

Wayne Berry

Nice campground, views of the river and a great park attached to it

Michelle Nicholson

This park is close to Hwy 97 on the Columbia River. It is easy to find but there are huge high-power towers right in the campground of this park. You can hear the air buzzing. Something the park website does not mention. There is also a steep down hill slope to the river from the campground. The playground is modern, but it is in the day use area not the campground. It can be a long walk for small children. The beach was badly fouled with bird droppings. Lots of irrigated lawns and some nice shade trees. Campsites were not all level, and some were tricky to park in due to trees. Showers require tokens with a vending machine outside the shower building. No refunds for unused tokens. Full hookup available.

I felt like the wife and I were about 20 years early for this park, felt more like a retirement center, still had a great time tho!

dona silang

This place is just okay. Nothing special.. Restrooms on primitive camp ground are horrible. Even though it's on an island it's noisy cause of the hi-ways on both sides. Good spot for fishing though.

Amazing state park! It is best for tent camping. Site 21 and 23 have the best view! Yes, the view is breathtaking! We stayed during the fire season, so the smog makes the view less impressive. But I can imagine the view without the smog. Swimming area is all right. Lots of seaweed. We still have lots of fun though! The walking trail is amazing! Good for running too! No individual RV sewer connection, but there is RV dump by the entrance. The rangers are very friendly!

Meeta Agrawal

Awesome for group camping but it is next to a busy road, that took away one star

Serena Mendoza

Jody Velasco

Peaceful and quiet!

Daniel Johnson

Excellent park. There are heated bathroom, showers, water and electric hookups, walking paths, swimming area, and boat launches. The camping areas are all covered in which makes for a company tent stay.

First of all i wanted to thank John and Debbie for going out their way to help us. John and Debbie volunteer and host the campsite. My family and I love this place. We been coming here since 2015. Never had an issue . We would recommend everyone to come visit and camp on this campground.

Beautiful well kept park. They have beautiful campsites on a secluded little island for tents that you have to hike into. They supply carts to pack in your stuff in and out with. One of the nicest campsites I have ever been to.

We had a company-wide camping weekend in the group camping area. The bathrooms are fantastic! Plus, easy access to the river. And a really nice walking trail around the site. There are plenty of space for tents and plenty of parking for vehicles. Plus a covered shelter with many picnic tables, sink, and grill. The firepit is pretty great as well.

Jalean Delcamp

Beautiful! Very clean restrooms and the park volunteers were absolutely helpful and friendly.

Dan Rodriguez

Very clean, well maintained park. Flat field style sites. Very little site separation or privacy. (Fairly typical of Central and Eastern Washington parks) Excellent water access. Great park staff. Clean but dated restrooms.

Ambrose Bessette

The state park has plenty of parking and overnight/ RV camping bays, two other parks right down the Columbia river as well.

Stacy Clower

It it a beautiful, clean park. A little alarmed by the huge power lines that stretch over part of the park. Would have liked to have a convenience store close by. Overall, it is a really beautiful place to stay. A great beach area, bathrooms and showers.

Jen Marshall

This state park is well-maintained. They water the grass regularly and the swimming area is clean. The campground overlooks the water and boat launch area. My only complaint is that there is a electrical main running through the park, it was about 100 feet from our campsite. You can hear the crackling of the power lines. Kind of took away from the serene environment There's not much privacy at campsites but it was roomy. Maps took us to the group campground and it was closed. The actual park entrance is up a bit from what Google says.

We went to Daroga sort of last minute, and while we had a nice time it was a little surprising. The campgrounds were labelled "primitive", but since they had tent spots with fences, working lights, picnic tables for each spot, and a grill included it didn't feel very primitive. For this reason it was very comfortable, but I guess as a newer camper I had a different idea of what "primitive" meant.
