REVIEWS OF Cape Disappointment State Park IN Washington

Jared DeLoach

Love this state park. Easy access to North Head (when it isn't mostly shut down for construction anyways. Outlook and hikes near by are easy to get to and have many historical sights to see on the way. Always enjoy myself when I come here.

Jacques Olivier

Multiple lighthouses, forts, and WW2 bunkers all in one place! Plus amazing beaches, cliffs and natural beauty. Also the parking pass machine sells the annual Discover Pass 5 bucks cheaper than it is online.

mark dearborn

Always beautiful. No cell service either. Good place to disconnect

John Bolte

Super value history and ocean and river all in one! Nice, long beach along the campground ocean front. (Skeeters can be horrible in Spring) North Head Lighthouse closed at this time but renovations they are doing sounds to be specifically historical and should be great! Some trails between the lowland and the heads make for good adventure and exercise.

Mark Weathers

Getting a camping spot here is not easy. Cape D is perfect for day trips, with lots of hiking areas and even public showers. If you forgot your discover pass, you can buy one at the pay station.

Tod Davis

A truly beautiful place well worth a visit. especially if your already at long beach

Jennifer Madrigal

Easy to get to, paved trails, viewpoints for breath taking scenery... wonderful!

Devin Harris

Huge park with tons of beautiful views. They have a beach, trail, camping, rv park, look outs. It's worth checking out

amanda bockelie

Watch out for the sneaky raccoon mama. If you leave anything unattended for a second she will be all over it like she did to our neighbors during our stay. Wish the place had more room for bike riders on the side of road. Hiked uphill to the light house you can't go inside of it which wasn't as fun. Enjoyed the beach.

Jon D

4 stars for the park, 1 star for the park rangers. We've been coming here for almost 20 years and over the years they have identified themselves as police officers, they dont know the difference between an RV and a regular van. They came to our site and tried to force everyone who was not driving, to take breathalyzer tests to which I refused. They threatened to kick everyone out even though they admitted there was no noise complaints. They came up to our campsite this time and said "you guys are being nice and quiet but we need to remind you to be quiet" seriously?! Nice accommodations, good maintenance, horrible "enforcement"

Mark Knecht

Great views. WA state at its finest. Terrific place to hold an FT party.

Arline Gilbert

Our Church, Ridgefield Church of the Nazarene, have been coming here for almost 36 years. A wonderful example if God's great beauty. Clean and this year free showers.

Heidi MacLeod

It's a very nice camping spot, but cell phone service is non-existent. What if there is an emergency? Please put up a cell phone towers; you have the room!

Debby Moore Smith

Beautiful views once you get there. The picture from the distance was taken from Waikiki Beach. The walk on the trail is mostly down hill to get there but then.... you have to walk up. There are no benches but we sat on roots and stumps to catch our breath. Note the height of the lighthouse. You have to walk down around a cove and then up to the lighthouse. It was worth it but I wish someone would have warned me. I definitely would have brought water. And there are no bathrooms on the trail.

Conyetta Lehenbauer

Seriously the most beautiful area I've been to. This park is rich in beauty and history. They take amazing care of the trails which look like a rainforest. Can't wait to plan another trip back!

Trisha Sims

So beautiful, so clean, and so fun!! Easy access to the beach and one of the light houses. It's a hike to the other light house but well worth it. Make sure you stop on the way up to the light house and see Dead man's cove!!

Josh Brauner

Easy to access and well-maintained roads, with breath-taking, panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean steps from your car. Make sure to either buy a pass or bring yours with you, especially when venturing to the two lighthouses. This is a true hidden gem! Overcast days with a sprinkle of rain and high waves are the best way to experience the true atmosphere of Cape Disappointment

Damon Starnes

Really fun hikes. Looks like a decent place to bring a bike, at least we saw a few. Lots of History here. Whole family really enjoyed it!

Serge Lagoda

Real gem of the great outdoors of the Pacific Northwest. The variety of landscape is outstanding, you have the jetty, beaches, hiking trails, marshes and small ponds, grassy meadows, all packed in one big state park. Good use of your annual discover pass, lots to do here, from fishing, kayaking, or just camping and enjoying the beach. There are even camp spots available for hike in campers or bikers. A must for outdoor enthusiasts.

Durran Champie

The park sign was great. That's all I saw. I drove there hours to stand by the park sign on my birthday.

Julien Gluckman-Picard

Beautiful area but jetty and lighthouse were closed when we went there. Camping prices are definitely super expensive (32-37$), makes me wonder if we are contributing to the jetty improvements or if this is the new era of squeezing as much money as possible from people who have already paid taxes in Washington. If you are poor or not willing to take a hit financially I guess this area is restricted to rich people. It's a shame because everyone should have access to our states wonders..

Waldon Andrews

Beautiful place on the mouth of the Columbia, lots of secret places to discover. Beautiful views when the weather is right. Lots of ruins of the old military forts in the area.

wringwraithe

This used to be the place we would go for summer trips. It just started to change once they made some updates. The updates were good (updated restrooms and showers) but it seemed like the atmosphere is very different. We still visit to go to Waikiki beach but with Jerry construction it is over loaded with people trying to fish and sight see. It used to have a spread out area where the fisherman could park and the visitors could park. It is still a beautiful place to visit. It has an increasing number of negatives to outweigh the positives.

Corinna Fritz

Good walking trails, at least 1 ery nice handicapble accessible trail, nice downtown area with good shopping, a couple of really great restaurants. Pretty quiet in the off season.

Jesse Wilson

We were told "Not to collect firewood" It's a wa state park rule. We saw many people collecting firewood within the campground Camp host keep the grounds extremely clean . Bathrooms cleaned every day. The park system seams a bit confused on who reserves a site/cancels a site and who should be in that site, it's a bit confusing if you realize that the site you wanted, was reserved at the time you made your reservations only to find out that the site was empty during your stay and open if I want to move over, asking other campers, they seem to experience the same. Deer everywhere love this park great place

Nathan Costiuc

Few places give you a feeling like Cape Disappointment. We went up and down the Oregon, Washington, and California coasts looking for jewels like this, and I'd have to say that Cape Disappointment beats out Big Sur, Cape Kiwanis, and all the others. If you come at sunset as we did, you'll see the most amazing glow of orange rocks against a the deep blue water - a sight that'll leave a mark on you.

Anthony Morin

If you were looking for a disappointing time, I would hate to have to disappoint you

Ed Moore

Couldn't get our rv to the facility, very disapointed

Johnathan Shelton

Great views of the mouth of the Columbia. Definitely a misnomer

SME

Cape Disappointment did not disappoint. Beautifully green, lush area with expansive views and great outlooks. Bring some rain gear! It was a bit windy and chilly in March but definitely worth the adventure. So many shades of green! Such beautiful vegetation. Some of the access roads were super narrow. But when we went, Monday it didn't seem to be terribly crowded. We paid a minimal fee of $5 for a day pass to park and walk up to the Light House, which was not accessible due to Construction. However, the view was amazing and I will gladly contribute my $5 to help maintain the area. There was also a few residences that one could rent and spend the night in. What a fun idea!

Brett Garrett

Beautiful place. However, we were charged $10 for day use. Limited parking, limited restrooms, no picnic areas. No desire to visit again.

Geoff Cain

Great place to camp. Absolutely beautiful, historic sites, and well-run campground. Free hot showers! But the Pacific Ocean is the real star - there is beach access here. We were here the weekend after Memorial Day. It was cool but a nice break from inland heat.

Deborah Schultz

Awesome day trip with plenty of hiking trails. Great fish and chips lunch/dinner from the cafe with a private picnic bench and view! Exploring the fort and armory gave us views of a deer (on the roof of the fort), 3 bald eagles and a bunny.

Christina McElroy

I went gold panning here. I got about a gram of gold in 4 hours. Very beautiful. There is a camp site. I went for a walk on the beach. It was very nice, warm and clean.

SHELLY SIBERT

Not bad in the dark. Jetty was cool Its got a campground and deerrunning around freely. I could touchedone last night, but did not,

Connor Haskins

Place was pretty awesome. Lots of sights and great opportunities for pictures. The trails we well maintained and the beaches were beautiful and natural as the should be. Great place for all. Friendly enough for kids and accommodating for the handicap. Definitely recommend.

Stepfanie Schultz

Such a beautiful place. Very historical and I enjoyed seeing the light house and dead mans beach.

Monika Ota

This campground has flushing toilets, showers(kept clean) and Electricity at some sites. The sites for tents are clean and have your personal water faucet, a picknick table with bench, and a iron ring for campfire. The campground has also Yurts for rent. To my personal opinion it is a perfect place for families with children. The sandy beach with lots of driftwood is in walking distance.

Becki DesJardin

This was an awesome place. Beautiful ocean views long stretches to walk and just be. Swimming and seeing the dogs running

Gary Rowe

Best place to camp on the Long Beach Peninsula. Most sites are pretty secluded, there's access to multiple beaches, and they have some pretty cool hiking trails that lead to historical areas.

Jon Ragsdale

So much to see! The hikes are actually worth it, between the centuries old lighthouses, Lewis and Clark center, and campground itself. So close the beach regardless of where you camp, and actually room between sites! I highly suggest getting there on a Friday as most campsites are first come first serve. The Lewis and Clark, WW2 historical artifacts, and other areas really brought history to life for my family and I. Long Beach and the tourist stuff tondonis just 20 minutes away.

Simon Ross

Just stunning, totally blown away by the beauty and power of the sea, despite the rain it is a great place to visit.

Lex Talamo

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING PARK. I came for a 3-day weekend, and the more I saw of the park the more I fell in love. Hiked the lighthouse trail the first day, the North Head Trail and the overlook spots the second day and swam at Beard's Hollow, then headed back home on Sunday after checking out the Confluence Art and the coastal forest trail. Loved learning about the history as well as the Chinook presence.... and the WWII relics were pretty cool! :) Super dog friendly as well!

James Deno

Amazing park to visit when your in long beach! Check this place out to hike in the forest and beach! Amazing spot for the family/solo or for couples!

Dawn Roberts

Ok this hike is more than moderate but if you want a workout with some pretty views this one works. Not all of the hike is pretty but there are some nice spots on the way.

Kari Hutchison

Five Stars for the park. Two stars for the yurt. One star for the showers and bathrooms. The yurt was full of dust and spiders. The bathrooms were full of spiders and the hot water was impossible to regulate. Red hot magma or ice. The lighthouses and interpretive center were wonderful. The location was great.

Bill Foy

Cape Disappointment is aptly named for me. The lighthouse appears to be not very well maintained. And that's a big surprise since it's under military (Coast Guard) control.

Angela Hill

Lots of history here and beautiful sights, lovely walking trails,I recommend wind breakers

Flynn Hildebrandt

Nice place to take you're family on a nice day. Safe place for swimming.

Bryan Bennett

This is not a short easy walk. I don't mind it, but my 73 year-old parents were fooled into thinking they'd have no problems.

Mike Unger

Very well kept and beautiful park. Loved it !

Kristy Waller

Beautiful state park. Great hiking. Photogenic area.

T Mac

Stayed in a yurt. U should have brought more cushioning for the bunk bed. It was nice hearing the waves . a couple of spiders , not too many.It is srill camping. , they are going to be around , it is a tent on the ground.a great view on the beach of the north head lighthouse on the cliff.

Jason Miller

Very fine sand on the beach. The water was cold and the waves were high. The camp sites had some privacy, but not isolation. The bathrooms were sufficient with free showers, including handicap shower. No mosquitoes in first week of August.

James Simpson

The easy access to the Columbia bar ,to get to and from the ocean they also have what you need for your fishing needs close by!

Kim Stichler

Nice campground. New showers. Aggressive raccoons

Tori Deines

This was our favorite place ever whole trip it is absolutely amazing. The Driftwood and the ocean there are just a beautiful. They also offer a shower which is really kind of a neat feature Cape Disappointment did not disappoint

Sareth Isenhart

First time here and first time yurt camping! Definitely recommend if you’re looking to wind down and relax. Nice trails and hikes that were very kid friendly fur my 6 and 10 year old. Very peaceful and just a walk down the road to the beach. I loved the hot showers! Made our family camping trip feeling clean while still getting that fun camp feel!

KEN SAVAGE

Cape Disappointment is an appropriate name if you are in a pickup truck pulling a travel trailer. I wanted to see the 2 light houses. NO RV PARKING for RV'S for 1. The other there was parking for an RV, but a 1.5 mile hike to observe it. Being in my 75th year I said, "The heck with that ! " I turned around and left the park. In town I purchased a post card of one of the light houses we missed. It I could give the place a - 10 stars I would in a heartbeat !

Thomas Himes

Scenic coastal hiking & biking opportunities. But dress appropriately.

Jim Wangsness

Gorgeous area. The campsites are fantastic. Many options: cabins, sheltered spots away from the windy beach area, and lovely spots--some with a bit of protection--that are adjacent to the beach. The restrooms were very clean and hot showers are free.

Erin Pakney

Lots to do and see. August is a nice time to visit. Great museum outlining Lewis and Clark's Expedition. Very informative and well done.

Jason Hale

This place is amazing lots to do beach trails fishing u name it it rock. There is free showers as well there should be its 30$ a night only small down fall that and the park rangers are very much watching and regulating what happens there but it is awesome still

Jason Krause

Lots of fun here. Spend days here hiking and exploring the history, wildlife and views. Must go if you like light houses. 2 of them in the park. Camps are walking distance to the beach. This beach is a favorite for gold miners on the beach. They set mine slues boxes. Neat to watch.

Eric Hullstrom

Amazing State Park. We drove 3 hrs and spent the day there and drove 3 hrs back. It was so worth the drive. Beautiful scenery. The lighthouses were fun. And the history. We will be back.

Bruce Samuels

Great history about Lewis and Clark. There wasn't enough parking for both the handicapped and regular parking spots. Other than that, great experience.

Lakshmi Bhimanapati

It's beautiful view from lighthouse n the Sandy beaches ,we just loved it

Desiree Chapman

Just a nice camp ground, hot showers, easy access to the beach. Close to Long Beach. Lots of fun!!

Kris Eilts

This is an awesome place to camp and they have great showers and bathroom.

Jeremy Nolan

So beautiful. Nice hike up to the interpretive center and lighthouse. Forest so lush and green.

curtis may

Beautiful place, stayed in the northhead lighthouse head light keepers house. Didn't see any ghost but well maintained. Nice place

Lawrence Wilson

Good walk, and incredible view the only disappointment is in the name.

Judy Scott

Beautiful area! Lovely lighthouses and paved trails.

Jennifer Holmberg

This is definitely worth a stop on your travels. Both the light house and interpretive center are great. Very friendly staff as well.

Sabrina Renee

Beyond beautiful! We hiked the trails deep in the woods from the Beard's Hollow parking lot to North Head. Wow! Breathtaking view of the entire peninsula and the rocks at the base.of the lighthouse. Love living here!

David Frinell

Had a wonderful time trailer camping, and watching the storm surf at the lighthouse.

Laura Mackenzie

Today was our third day on the Discovery Trail, heading north from Beards Hollow. Me, on foot. My husband, in his manual WC. Lovely forested area before coming into the dunes, ocean views. The 10' wide paved path is nirvana for Wayne to get a smooth roll going, fresh ocean air, surf sounds, happy to be out in nature. We will be back.

jeffrey austin

This place is the best place to camp on the coast period!!! It has a huge spread of sites, usually booked out for up to a year no lie!! It has all you could want, huge beaches and great access..hot showers free along with huge bathrooms and a onsite store!! A few neat local entertainment draws around it and a few other must see things the spot puts on during peak season..you will have to stay here once to see what I am talking about!! Love, love, love this place!

B P

It was cool, but hey need more info on the gun batteries.

Erik Johnson

We love driving up-and-down the Washington and Oregon coast in visiting the parks and this one is always a stop on our list. There's a nice leisurely drive-through the park good camping and good access to the beach.

Cheri'z Angel

Absolutely stellar views and I wish I had more time to explore. I visited both light houses and did the Bell's overlook trail. You get sea views and to explore the gorgeous forest. The Bell's overlook was a pretty cool hike that has an old water tower on it as well as a WWII bunker that we had fun exploring. I will definitely be returning. Some of the trails or easier than other. Most of the trails do have a sign at the trailhead telling you the approximate distance. They so not seem to tell you how much elevation will be gained or lost however.

Karrie Orr

The best of everything is here. Beautiful views. The beaches, the forest...incredible

Carol Jinks

We just booked again for 2020 and normally we do not visit some where twice unless we LOVE it. I like how it is close to other places to visit for dinner etc. Not to mention the campground is amazing

Dennis James

Great visitor center and spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and the mouth of the Columbia river

Carson Hill

Good place to wander and see some sights. Animals, scenic views, etc.

Felecia Eby

This is a nice little hike up to the lighthouse and you pass Deadman's Cove on the way. It is gorgeous no matter the weather. Good photo ops and, when the weather is nice you can climb down and enjoy the beach.

jeremy rogers

Loved seeing the old light house and all the beautiful views of the crashing waves. I have visited it more then once be sure to take the 3 capes scenic route it's an awesome experience.

Jenn Burnam

One of my favorite state parks. So beautiful and so much to do. Trails, lighthouses, camping, beach, etc.

Stewart Westphal

This is truly one of the most beautiful spots I have ever been to. Time was a problem. So, I went to the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. This is an absolute must. The view of the inlet and lighthouse, and the Columbia River Bar are spectacular from the insie and breathtaking from the outside. Go on a reasonably clear day as the fog and/or clouds can block your view quickly.

megan byers

Very well kept and organized state park. Theres plenty of attractions, campsites and beaches to explore. The park rangers were very helpful with their advice on where to stay for what price. Beware the raccoons! They own the place.

April Maple

We love coming here. I appreciate that I can bring my dog with us to get exercise too. So far we have only exploded 2 different entrances. This State Park has several different ways to explore. Camping ⛺️ is also welcomed here just call to make sure they have a spot for what you might need. I’m looking forward to bringing family and friends here. It’s $10.00 a day or $30.00 for a discovery pass which is needed at several other places besides State Parks. It’s worth it to just get the year pass it’s cheap to be able to explore all State Parks and places that a discovery pass is needed. Hope you all have fun.

Carl Magann

Great drive through the park. We visited North Head and Cape Disappointment light houses. Be advised the hike to Cape Disappointment lighthouse fairly physical due to changes in elevation and steepness if the trail. North Head has a gift shop, and the walk to the light house fairly easy. Both light houses closed with North Head having restoration work being done. Fantastic views of the coastline and ocean.

Wyatt Spear

We were disappointed to discover that all of the major stops in the park require a $10 pass. That's fine if you want to spend a chunk of your day there but we were just doing a quick visit to get the lay of the land. I assume the out of car experience is good but confined to the roadway, this wasn't a worthy destination.

Jane Gilroy

Best beach camping, ever! Our go to spot for a get away, anytime. The park is run really well, so much history there. We love the many hiking and biking trails, and the beach is fantastic.

Wayne Boaz

Nice park and trails. Need better signs on the trails and more trail maintenance.

Jordan Campbell

Wasn't as cool as I thought it would be. Very windy but I enjoyed it. Short walk to the lighthouse. About 1 mile round trip. Lighthouse isn't anything fancy. But it's a good view.

J J

Nice clean park with lots of room to spread out and many trails to the beach areas. Clean facilities and showers are a bonus

Kyle Kern

Great views , nice hikes , and a nice bike trail that will take you to long Beach. Books out months in advance but worth the effort

Andrew John Rochon

Tons of activities. Close to Astoria and Long Beach. Plus the Ocean beaches, day hikes, bike paths and walking trails. We love this place and have been back several times.

Ron Lashley

Great place to getaway to. Nice trails.

Renee Wyman

I really appreciated not having garbage cans in the restrooms. They can attract so many insects and animals. The showers were awesome! The water was warm, and although the camp ground was crowded the showers were often available immediately. The site itself had soft even sand to put a tent on. We were so close to the ocean! The beach had all sorts of sand- black sand, yellow sand, and it was all so soft. This was a sublime campsite and ground. Totally recommended.

Nathaniel Green

ANOTHER wonderful place to visit going back on my Birthday

Pookie Princess

One of the better parks on the coast in my opinion. Lots of room for the kiddos to burn some energy on the trails. Only downside is the lighthouse is closed off for reno. You can't see it hardly from the trail either. But it's a nice hike.

A Rogers

One of my very favorite state parks in WA. Gorgeous wooded trails and beach. Just lovely.

Corrie Mick

My husband and I enjoyed the park and had a wonderful day. The walks to the light houses were nice, but the views are really what we enjoyed. We also really enjoyed seeing Dead Man's Cove. It's closed, so don't go down, but it's still pretty to see from the trail above. We also enjoyed Waikiki Beach and Benson Beach. The former is small but has beautiful, large waves breaking against the cliffs. It's also sheltered from the wind a bit, which made it warmer. The latter beach was long and flat with lots of driftwood and even a fairly new whale skeleton (and some skin so it SMELLS). Super cool to see! I gave the park 4 stars instead of 5 because it was so confusing in the beginning as first timers. So to help you be a bit less confused, if you need to get an annual pass, go to the small hut going toward Waikiki Beach to get a more durable pass. Otherwise, you'll just be getting a receipt to put in your window. Going there to get that first will then make the rest a breeze. Enjoy!

R. Arce

Nice park with a nice sandy beach a close walk from the campgrounds. The campground is well taken care of, but some of the sites are close together and don't have a lot of privacy. Lots to do nearby and a very popular place to camp.

Craig Rinas

This camp ground had lots to offer. Lots of hiking trails and great place for the kids to hang out on the beach

Randy Martin

Oregon Parks have much better information available when you purchase a park pass. It's $10 here, but you don't get a trail map or anything. We parked, paid the fee and started walking with no idea of how far we had to walk. It's a bit of a hike to Cape Disappointment Lighthouse with several ups and downs. It's worth the hike, but this lighthouse needs some work. They also want to charge you another $5 each to visit the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. We then went to the North Head Lighthouse, but it's under major restoration. The main lighthouse is almost done. They were working on the small building attached to it. It will be very nice when they are finished. I do recommend visiting.

Hank Jenkins Jr.

Exquisite, awe-inspiring wonderland that is a MUST see for all who wander this neck of the woods. Stunning views, framed by the Columbia's mouth meeting the world's largest ocean; it is the truest portal to the Pacific. Luscious ferns dwell atop the picturesque cliffsides, blanketed in voluptuous forests. Because I can never see this gem enough during this lifetime or the next, I hope to one day have my ashes spread in this shimmering beauty of a park.

Shari Curtright

A wonderland of forest and sea. The trail to the lighthouse is through an evergreen forest that winds down through a ravine and back up to the lighthouse for .4 miles, from the parking lot. It's worth the walk if you are able!

Shellykaye Cummings

My most absolute favorite place to camp! Very clean park, nice campsites with many options. Showers and real toilets! Also, wonderful hikes, lighthouses and a very cool interpretive center. The history here is so interesting. We camp here multiple times throughout the year and are never disappointed! We still have many more hikes we want to do!

Tadgh B

It's a very busy place in the summer months. But such a great place to take your kids. Sooo many trails to ride for all ages and riders. The sites are a bit close and there is zero privacy but it is a state park so its to be expected. The showers are free too. Try it in early fall or early spring if you want to avoid the crowds. My kids loved it.

Carl from Chicago

There is a lot to do here. The museum is good. We had to park in the overflow lot and take a trail up. It was pretty but if you are with elderly or children it is a decent amount of work. We also saw a bald eagle which is nice.

Olivia Campbell

No disappointment here. The hike up is steep but paved some of the way and totally worth it.

Jim medina

We fished here and we have hiked to the lighthouse. What a beautiful and treacherous place! One of my favorites:)

christopher wieber

The bulk of the campground on the ocean is gorgeous, but not all camp sites are created equal here. Plenty of bathrooms but fewer showers. On the plus side there are two lighthouses within the park and it's position at the mouth of the mighty Columbia as it reaches the majestic Pacific can not be overlooked. Also it's connection with the Corps of Discovery makes it a must see for anyone interested in History or the American West's early occupation by European descendants.

Tim Carpenter

Greatvm park in a wonderful location on the coast. Full of history and views to fill a week or more of time. Full range of camping and lots to do for whole family in and near park.

Ja Sunny

This place is not disappointing rather quite cool!

Jodilyn Owen

Hiked to the main lighthouse, Belles view, and north head trail. All interesting to see. The first two are well traveled, the last is an exercise in forested isolation. It was emotionally challenging--the trail is well maintained.so you don't have to worry about getting lost. I saw one other person when I was nearly at the end. You are forced out and back unless someone picks you up from the road at the end. Still I highly recommend it, and maybe unlike me you'll remember all the words to one whole song so you won't have to sing an unfortunate medley along the way.

Scott Henderson

Lewis and Clark exhibit. Lighthouse. A beach or two. About a mile of trail through the woods with some decent hills. Very crowded at midday on a Sunday.

Jeanne Rudolph

Enjoyed our stay at the park lots of places to ride your bikes and take hikes wish more sites had power but we managed just fine...

Timothy Falcone

Thought this was really neat, awesome for dog walks. Really secluded and perfect for photos and family fun. Even a great place just to escape alone and read a book. Close by is a hipster town full of shops and restaurants worth checking out. Enjoy!

Mike Dare

The locals recommended going to Waikiki beach when there's a storm to watch the breakers on the rocks. It's best to go at high tide to see the best breakers. We got there about 2 hours after high tide but waves and breakers were still very impressive.

Christopher van vleck

I love the quietness that is brought to me by the sound of the waves crashing against the cliff. Plenty of trails to explore. It is a good place to just go and clear your head.

Gerrit Kelly

This is a yearly camping trip, some have been going for over 15 years, This is our second year. Great campground, Bathrooms, Showers. Lots of deer, and wildlife to see. Beautiful beach with gorgeous sunsets. Lots of driftwood to build forts and such. Pretty quite as well. Beautiful hikes to old battlements, and hikes to two different lighthouses.

Kimberly Newlove

There is so much to see and explore. We couldn't fit it all in one weekend. We'll be back. The camp ground was clean and everyone was nice. Sites are close and barely any brush between (no privacy) but that wasn't an issue for us.

AnneMarie Davis

Very cool place indeed. Lots of different trails, I started at North Head and hiked the McKenzie Head Trail (1.5 mi) after coming out at a road, I finished the hike up to McKenzie Lagoon and got to wall through the awesome Battery at the top

Shawna Holt

Beautiful hike to get to the light house. Be sure to be prepared with proper shoes. Breath taking views from the lighthouse.

Tucker Chandler

It was a 4 HR drive from our place in Woodinville but worth the drive there and back. We only went for two nights but it was worth it. Wish we had more time to spare for the state park. We will be going back again soon. I have lived on the Washington coast my whole life and have enjoyed much of it's scenic views but this one will live in my top three for ever. Please make the effort to stop here.

Niels Rasmussen

A really nice beach to take the family and dogs. It's a short walk from the parking lot to the beach. You can make forts out of drift wood because so much turns up on this shore. It's very family oriented. Parking requires a discovery pass that can be $10/day or $30/yearly. The only thing is garbage cans are very limited. As I believe this is a pack-in-pack-out park to the beginning of the parking lot. The camp grounds look cute for tent and/or camper camping.

Linda Abuga

The pathway was under construction about half way down to the lighthouse which was slightly disappointing but there are so many options. We had a great walk. There are short trails and long trails and the pathways are paved making it easy for everyone. We plan on going back when we have more time to explore.

Chris Tucker

This is a relatively short but arduous walk to the Lighthouse that was completely worth it! The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center was excellent. Views can't be beat. We even saw a pair of bald eagles in a nearby tree and myriad cormorants.

Michele Roman

Great place to get out and hike! We had the most amazing day checking everything out! So many memories were made! Can't wait to go back

This was my first time to this state park and had no idea on how big this park is, it’s huge! They have everything here I didn’t get to everything but they have two light houses a few different beaches there’s fishing a place to grab something to eat oh and a ton of camping spots plus yurts and cabins and lots and lots of RV spaces.

Was anxious to see where the Colombia River meets the ocean. Was more than I had hoped for. Bonus was a ship leaving the river and getting out to the ocean. No big waves but was still impressed. A little confusing to get there but we made it. Would like to have had my husband see what I did but he is not able to walk far due to medical problems. He had a handicap tag back in Wisconsin but due to medical conditions had decided no more doctors or treatments so can't get a handicap tag. I realize nature takes precedence but is a shame there is not a way that people who can't handle the walk would have an opportunity to get to see what I did.

Two lighthouses within two miles. Only place like this on the west coast. Easy walk to North Point Lighthouse. They are getting close to finishing up the restoration so it is looking good. South lighthouse is still a coast guard facility. A bit run down, but a great view. Put on your hiking boots with a climb, descent, climb to get there and the reverse to get back. .6 miles each way

It's easy to see why this park is so popular that you need to book your site months in advance. Two lighthouses, wetlands, trails, and the Pacific within a couple of miles from town

I was completely surprised with the quality of this park! It has a paved walking/bike path that is well maintained and some of the most beautiful scenery. The beach is lovely and there is so much more to discover. I plan on returning because there is so much more to see!
