REVIEWS OF Bogachiel State Park IN Washington

Stopped here for a night on our honeymoon. Place was basically empty do to it being a weekday. Reservation suggested for weekends. Camp host was very friendly and offered wood to us if we needed. Has bathrooms on site. Found best site all the way at end of campground. Sites vary in price. Would come back and stay again if in area.

Great camping spot!

Christopher Wilkinson

Well maintained State park. Basic sites or several water and electric sites. Level with no hills. Beautiful day and 11 miles from the City of Forks. "Twilght".

Joan Taie

Great camp area. Central to other areas of hiking

John Ernst

Nice small camp ground. Very pretty nice forest buffer between sites.

Melissa wright

Spot #34 was great. Close to the river. Bathrooms were clean. Hot shower and gazebo with power outlets. No complainst. 8/2017.

Largoroom Studios

Nice place to camp by the river if you go all the way in the back.

Beautiful trails, nice sites

Wish I could give 5 stars. This is a really nice Campground with day use and access to the river. Campsite 8 is nice & private. 9 & 10 works well if your a group. There isnt a whole lot of privacy between them due to some down trees. One huge downfall at this campsite. You hear all the road noise!! All the logging and semi-trucks using compression breaks when you're trying to sleep. Bathrooms are decent. If I went back I'd like to try campsites 36 or 38 with river views. Really close to Hoh rainforest, Ruby Beach, tree of life, big cedar tree, crescent lake, sol duc and marrymere falls, la push, Rialto beach and hole in the wall. So much to see and do.

Brandon H

Very small state park with a very short hiking trail. Campgrounds are available here but they're right next to the busy and noisy highway. We hiked the short trail and that was it. Be careful on the trail's bridges, very slippery when wet.

王文军

Better facilities than those campsites in the park. Nice host. Loud noise in the night from the highway.

Brad Hoyt

Amazing place to visit. We staid in campsite one. Clearly the best site in the park. Also if you plan on buying some fire wood just head north on hwy 101 till you see a sign that read twilight wood. It is cheaper than going to town.

Nice state park restrooms fairly clean, showers $1.00 for 6 minutes. Good river access. We stayed in the back of the campground which most people don't go to due to a sign that says group camping but there are regular sites also. They have a dump but it was not in service while we were there.

Walter Wittel

Brian Holle

Nice little state park along Highway 101. Nothing special about the place but it seems easier to get a campsite late in the day if you can't get in anywhere else

Henry Bariteau

Campgrounds are over priced (twice what the NPS sites less than 15 miles aware are) and noisy being right next to US 101

Chris McDonald

Good location. Out of firewood at the campground. Showers were out of order. I would have stayed in a national park campground had I known the showers were out of order.

Ron Staggs

Beautiful

Steffen Pleiness

We are tent campers and give it a low score due to the excessive noise generated by the highwa y this campground is next to, esp. the lumber trucks that run all hours of the day and night. It often sounded like those trucks were going to come crashing right through the tent. Maybe 4

If not for being right next to Highway 101, an extremly traveled Road, this would get four stars. Campsites are well-maintained and it's right along the beautiful River, and the Bogachiel River Trail that goes into the National Forest is right across the street which is not to be missed. 10 minutes away from Forks and anything you need for supplies there, and with decent cell service, this is a great location if not for the road noise you'll hear often.

Dan Keeney

Good fishing spot

Beth Hunt

Awesome camping area! Caretakers have firewood available if you forgot/couldn't fit it in your vehicle. Forks and Ruby Beach are nearby for easy shopping or day hiking along the water. Loads of trails nearby, and salmon and steelhead are in the river and both are available for fishing. 10/10 would come here again.

We held a campout for our whole family (24 of us). We stayed for 4 days and could have definitely stayed longer. The area is beautiful and it is right in the middle of a great area for outdoor activities.

Jan Ziegler

Hidden gem! Gorgeous hikes

GeometricShapes

An amazing campground! The hosts are incredible, very very friendly. Pick # 40 if available. You get seclusion, peace and quiet. Nobody can see your campsite from the road. The highway is very near but it's worth it!! River access, beautiful trees/wildlife and gorgeous nature. Enjoy :)

Would give this place a solid 4.5 (so I rounded up). Short drive to Forks and LaPush beach. Right off of Highway 101. Highway traffic is a bit of a buzz, but not so loud as to interrupt sleep. The park Rangers and Host were great. I had Site 10 and it could easily fit 2 tents. They were out of firewood when we came, but they do sell it, and there are several stands nearby so it wasnt a real issue. No gathering local wood. There is a trail that runs through the park, which the kids enjoyed. Has access to the beach, but, for those unaccustomed to the Bogachiel River, the riverfront is ALL rock (stone). The kids enjoyed throwing rocks in the river, but it's a bit rough on the feet. Has two male/two female showers available for a small fee.

Mike Taylor

Beautiful place. Access to the river.

E C

Lovely park overall and great hosts and staff. Proximity to the highway means you can hear traffic from almost everywhere in the campground. Some sites are very small, or very open, so I would recommend choosing a site around the lower loop closest to the river. Had no problem getting cell service here, if you're into staying connected. I would definitely camp here again.

Great spot to camp.. will come back again soon...

Great place to camp, relaxing by the river especially in the 30’s for the numbered sites. Camp hosts are pleasant, firewood bundles available to purchase which are well stocked with kindling and firewood. Will definitely visit again!

A decent State Park alongside the road. Spaces are fairly well apart, in wooded areas. Some spaces are level, many are not. There's a nearby River which is within 30 ft of some of the spaces. Is within five hundred feet of all the spaces Real bathrooms are the bonus, actual flushing toilets and nice bathrooms are the bonus at this park

Timothy Radonich

A beautiful little park. Everything is clean and nice.

David Goetz

Stayed here in our 32’ class A in mid October at a PHU site for $30/night for two nights. The place was mostly empty with just a handful of other campers which was nice since this time of year it is first come-first served for spots. Very short rainforest trail and even shorter river access trail are available, can walk it all in under 10 minutes but it is pretty. Dog friendly. Need a WA state park discover pass. My only complaint about the campground is the road noise since it is directly off of 101, though at this time of year it is not too bad but I imagine during the busy season it would be annoying

Morris Jacobson

Next to the river clean and nice

A beautiful state park for camping. Has hot showers!

The sites were small. They have some power sites but can't accommodate a medium trailer. THEIR HOT WATER DID NOT WORK AND THE COKD WATER FELT LIKE IT WAS 35 DEGREES! NOT GOOD

This is a review for my visit on June 17, 2019. Stopped here to camp for the night on my way to Port Angeles. Didn't have time to experience more of the park other than the campground. Nearly all campsites were taken when I arrived (it was a Monday), but I was lucky enough to get a very small site that was actually quite nice. Despite how close together the sites were, the campers around me were quiet and respectful. The campground is located right next to Route 101, but not much road noise at night. It was a very pleasant stay!

Everett Whitehaed

Cheap skates who wont turn up the propane so your "shower" is more like jumping in a lake, I paid to stay here to take a shower so thanks for ruining my time and taking my money

Meticulously maintained grounds and facilities. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful forested park on the river.

Nice camping place. We stayed in the group camp area, small hike to river access and a few minutes to forks. Lost a star because of its proximity to the highway. You can really hear cars passing by at high speeds.

Good place for beginner campers to "get away". Too close to highway to truly seperate from humanity for a couple of days.

AWESOME Campground Not A lot of sites but Nice and quiet and close to the river

Yvonne Sommers

They were full but we needed a place to stay and they went out of their way to give us a place.

Paul Holt

Great campgrounds, but it's a little confusing when you show up. You won't need a discover card if you have a reservation.

Kendall Larson

This is your average run of the mill state park. It’s nice enough and has the usual creek and surrounding forest. I camped there for a night. The bathrooms were adequate, the campsite wasn’t too expensive (20$ I think) and it wasn’t ever too loud.

Daniel Conley

Too close to a busy road. Ridiculously expensive.

Cha Yang

We stopped here for a one night stay to prepare for our longer trip to Olympic National Park. Campsite is right next to busy highway so it was kind of hard to sleep. Camp host and ranger were super friendly and helpful. Ranger let us just use the pavilion and take showers without requiring us to buy a day pass.

Scott Todd

Very clean and nice. Restrooms and showers are clean and nice.

Tamara OMarro

I don't go there cost money. But if you want very clean showers and bathrooms. But you must need Discovery pass.

Bill Duffey

It's in the OP baby -- bro g rain gear

Robert Clabough

Clean bathrooms, half hour to beaches, closer to olympic national park. A few spots are close to the highway. Filled up around 1pm on a Friday morning in summer.

This was my first time up in the Olympic Peninsula, and camping at Bogachiel State Park was a wonderful experience! Camp hosts were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The bathrooms and showers were always clean. Forks is just about 5-6 miles up the road, so if you need additional supplies or food you don’t have to go far. Will definitely come back!!
