Review for Kings Dominion park + haunt: I myself am very scared of heights, in fact they are my worst fear. I did every single roller coaster and had a great time. The food their is very pricey, one water bottle is $4.50 on average. Food was pretty good though. Staff was very nice and helpful. Rollercoasters were amazing and we went on a Sunday we’re the longest we had to wait for a ride was 15 minutes and that was because someone dropped their phone, causing them to stop the rides and search for it. The haunt started at 7:00, scary clowns, wolves, and crazy looking people every where in the park scaring you, truly was amazing. There are many shows that start such as a zombie band and a play that is pretty cool. Haunted houses were scary and the actors seemed to love what they were doing. I would recommend Kings dominion any day!

Kings Dominion in Virginia is a great Amusement Park geared towards all ages. They have a great variety of coasters, a nice kids area, and games and restaurants throughout the park. We just happened to pick a day that turned out to be 95 degrees so we had to hydrate. It's not cheap to get H20 in the park. I got a great discount on tickets from their direct website and purchased a meal for each of us as well as parking. I would recommend this for you as well if you're trying to be as economical as possible. Overall a great experience.

First time going, its a nice park. Love the Rides, but be ready to wait a long time to get on them. Lots of people kept leaving and coming back to their spot which isn’t allowed! The employees look like they hate their job. More Fans need to be installed around the park and in lines for rides in the summer.

Tyler Kissel

Great rides. Got there early and had shortage of employees. Many rides didn't open for 2 hours. All in all Intimidator was Awesome!

Blake Johnson

Twisted timbers is must ride. Arrive early to avoid lines and get the opportunity to ride the popular attractions twice or more in a row before the crowds arrive. If you like funnel cake, there's a boardwalk fries shoppe in soak city that has funnel cake fries! Same taste, much less mess

Shane Siebken

A great park, with a great focus on solid and varied rollercoasters and thrill rides! Food is expensive, but tasty. Paths between areas are clean, wide, and sensible. I miss The Volcano!

Ashley Ann

Honestly so much fun! Not super extreme dollar coasters but there were two good ones here. Honestly a lot of good ground rides.

Suzanna Armstrong

An excellent park with amazing rides. My family spent the extra money on the fast lane + and it was well worth it. The longest we waited was probably 15 mins. Others have questioned if the passes were worth it and I say yes. During the on-season they are $80/person which can be steep, but not waiting in line for 2 hours made them well worth the money. We were able to ride numerous popular rides several times over. The park was clean, the staff was energetic, enthusiastic and helpful. I haven't been here in nearly 20 years and honestly it was great to come back. The only upset is how pricey everything is. There's no reason a bottle of water needs to be $5. The upside tho, if you bring your own bottle, you can get free water refills throughout the day.

Brandon Brantley

Great amusement park. Lots of rides for all ages! (except infants) my 4 year old was able to do almost everything in the kids area, which is massive. The food and stuff is overpriced as you would expect at a place like this, but you can buy a cup there that gives you free refills for the day, all day, for 15 bucks. This was a lifesaver on an extremely hot day.

Best value theme park. For rides, but make up for it with the cost of food and drinks with a rule and belonging search forbidding anything other than bottled water being taken into the park. Food service areas and restroom definately need some work on cleanliness.

Jerry Battle

Had great time . . . Partly cloudy, kept the crowds down. No waiting all day long

Melissa Rodden

Fun exciting roller coasters for adults, teens and younger thrill seekers. Planet Snoopy is perfect for toddlers 36 inches and taller. They do have quite a few rides for smaller babies with an adult sitting with them. Character meet and greets are fun and well managed. Highly recommend season passes, dining plans and the drink cups.

Jeffrey Wang

Thrill rides were great and well maintained. Lines were super short and we were allowed to stay on the rides several times since there was so few people. There was a heat advisory with 100F+ temperature but the indoors weren't well air conditioned and basically the same as shade outside. Food was overpriced and low quality (like most places). Some of the staff were pretty entertaining during the ride introduction/conclusions. Water bottles are allowed, food is technically not but some of the staff were lenient and didn't care much. Recommended to buy tickets and parking pass online for discounts. Re-entry is allowed so it's possible to bring food and go out to eat it. With almost no lines one day was plenty of time to go through most of the rides and the water park. Clothes were allowed in the water park rides though swimwear recommended. Intimidator was rated by far the best coaster in my group. Overall rides' thrill level is okay, none of the rides were too crazy. Plenty of rides for non-thrill seekers too.

David

Always a fun time for the family. Only gripe with our visits was the drink stands constantly out of ice or drinks in general. Please keeps these stands stocked to fulfill the drink plans you sell.

Sharon Hicks-Jones

Family fun for all ages. The lazy river was the most fun I have had in years. I will be going back again. We had an package that included refill on drinks every 15 minutes & entree's every 90 minutes. Terrific time had by all.

kristopher johnson

Monster truck show here this month!!! Got to sit in them and ride in, lifetime dream for me, my dad and son. Atmosphere and rides always fun ! Season pass definitely worth it and they let me bring waters in for the family with my book bag. The kings dominion app is also great as it gives you wait times and real time walking directions !

George Bassey

Big park with ample parking. Variety of rides for everyone, from the thrill seeker to the little kid. The pavilion has a good setup for concert events. Be sure to have cash handy, as some food and beverage stands may accept cash only. Occasional temporary delays for rides due to maintenance or emergencies. The app is helpful for anticipating wait times for rides and for mapping and directions to desired locations.

Cassandra Mobley

Miss some of the attraction from when they first began. Need more food places and souvenir shops. Shouldn't have to pay for parking. 20.00 really

Michael Gendron

We had a great time! No long lines! Great access to the rides! We were relaxed and organized to enjoy the roller coasters! Their were so money of the. L.I

Dan Bradfield

We always have a great time here! The lines aren't terrible compared to other parks I've been to, especially in Sundays. There is a fantastic kids area and the park has rides for all ages and thrill levels!

Ben & Barb

We had a blast! Go mid-week and avoid the crowds! We went on a Thursday and didn't have to wait to ride anything! Also the $15 drink wrist band is well worth the price. And almost every corner has a drink/refreshment center for refills.

C. Hasenauer

This is a good place to spend time with family and friends walking around in the hot sun with stuff to give. However I suggest getting discounted tickets or coupons because everything is insanely expensive. Also I'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with Kings Dominion itself, but the amount of people who do not watch where they're going is a sin. Got ran into like four times.

shrenik punamiya

Awesome place to be at in any season of the year. Fun filled experience for adults and kids. Ample Parking. Lots of food options. Lots of rest spots.

Kevin Handy

It's Kings Dominion. If you like coasters then cool. If not then go to Busch Gardens.

Mike Ward

I love Kings Dominion! The rides are AWESOME (highly recommend getting the Fast Lane passes), the staff treated us very well, and the food was DELICIOUS & affordable. We will be back next season.

Trend Smart

The park is kinda dirty and the ice cream is a little pricey ($6 for 1 scoop) we have season passes so we come here a lot. We r looking forward to Halloween haunt. Everything else is perfect

Pebblez thepisces

Amazing time as always. The weather allowed for a fun time. It was not extremely hot at all. Park seems so much smaller since now I am an adult but still had fun on all the memorable rides. An the food is always amazing. Especially when it was time to go and I picked up a funnel cake with cookies and ice cream. The lady working the window was amazing and my funnel cake was the icing on a great trip. Will definitely be coming back.

Jamiece Stanton

Went for Joyfest 19' for a Saturday it wasn't to crowded. Concert was wonderful, but the amphitheater needs to be closed in or something. It was so hot you couldn't even sit in your reserved seats. So many people got sick due to dehydration. Hopefully when they have it again, they figure out a way to cool the area.

Ayana Johnson

The intimidator is the best roller coaster in the park. Followed by the flight of fear. We rode every roller coaster in 5 hours. I definitely recommend going in the off season when it's not crowded. Two recommendations for the park. They need to relabel the instructions for ending the locker rentals because they're all worn and cannot be read. Or they should have an option to end the rental at the kiosk. Better yet, an option to log on to a website on your phone or the KD app, or to text to end would be great options as well.

Kendra Griffith

My family had a blast there . My only complaints are that the kids area has gone down hill , back when it was Nickelodeon themed it was amazing and actually had characters walking around , we saw no Charlie Brown characters at all . Also the employees were clearly less than happy to be there, I believe if you are working in a theme park especially in the kids area you should at least pretend to enjoy your job. Although there was a very nice young man working the Shenandoah Lumber company ride that actually took the time to talk to us and was very nice to my 4 year old. The Grand Carnivale parade was great my son and 2 year old niece had a blast !

Christopher Johnson

Lots of fun for the kids. My littlest grand could not get on many of the rides because she was too little but she will be able to get on next year. But i went got a turkey leg and funnel cake and was a happy camper. Dont get to go much but when i do those are the two things i get. Overall had a ball

Maru Aldan

The Park itself is beautiful, and is small enough for you to see everything in an afternoon. The Lines (ques) can be long for the more popular rides, but that's to be expected at any park. A Fast Pass would definitely come in handy if you're short on time and there on the weekends. The park also offers a great selection of rides and games for kids! And as far as dining goes..oh boy.. This would be my only complaint. The food is not very good and very overpriced. Even a bottle of water costs almost $5 so be sure to bring your own water if you plan in staying all day. Also bring snacks! Lots of snacks! Other than that I had a wonderful time, thrilling rides and friendly staff made it an awesome experience. I would recommend this as a fun all day thing to do with your family/friends/Significant Other.

Adam Miller

Fright Night was great. I personally thought Condemned was a great horror attraction (flashlight in the dark), but our medium-sized party each enjoyed other "mazes" just as much. Lines were super short early (~7 PM) but grew as it got later. We chose Fast Lane passes $45 each for scary attractions only. Also rode Initimidator back to back because no line. Good times. Needs a few more bar spots for libations.

Tiffany Givens

Great family park. Helpful staff. Good food. Rides for kids of all ages!! We always have a great time when we go. We'll definitely be back again.

Jake Freeman

Really good park, really good attractions. Four stars because when it's busy, it's BUSY. Lines everywhere, can get up to around 2+ hours for a ride. Same applies to the water park which besides the potential crowd, is a great place to cool off on a hot day. Honestly an incredible park and an incredible time.

Kevin Price

Kings Dominion has plenty of ultimate roller coasters and fun rides. They keep it classy by requiring park goers to be fully clothed after exiting the water park, something that I appreciate. They have cirque performances in their theater, something worth viewing. Come Halloween, they will deck the park out with awesome haunted things for decoration. Lots to do, lots of fun. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of my visits.

Lena Jackson

It was a lovely evening at the park. My son and husband thoroughly enjoyed their time at Soak City. We took advantage of the Family Bundle deal. It consists of entry to park after 4pm, free parking, and a free meal with a drink. I loved the Lumina light show and music. The 9pm Rhythm Show was awesome. The dancers and singers were so talented.

Kay A

Great place to go for a fun weekend with your family and friends. I had a great time and I will be back.

Michelle Ashworth-Lawrence

Had a great time here! Kids love it Alot of fun things. Little high but its definitely a memorable moment when you go.

Kathryn Greenly

Fantastic kid rides, but it seemed to need a little TLC. The funnel cake stand had a nonworking drink machine and it took us 12 minutes to receive our funnel cake. We were second in line. The drink machines with the drink season pass add on is nice, but they need to figure out a trick to control the bees of course without hurting them. Maybe enclosing the drink stands would help. Overall a great park, just needs a little attention to detail.

Marlon Bob

I got season passes and went during the heat wave we had last week and spent Saturday and Sunday there, and still had loads of fun they allow water bottles which was a blessing during this time and I do have a refillable cup for the season as drinks are going be the thing that makes your wallet empty (that and the food) as much I enjoyed everything they need to bring back the mist, I miss it so much and my mind kept thinking about the spots where the mist used to be. I don't know why they removed them, I'm sure there is a good reason but it's summer and it's a hot one at that so not having the ability to cool down was unfortunately (please bring them back!)

Gary Horton

Not sure why Friday Aug 29th the park open at 11:30 and closed at 8pm. We were able to ride most of the roller coasters with not a long delay and really enjoyed most of the rides besides Grizzly that ride could cause damage to your neck. Food wise we were somewhat shocked at the cost. We frequently go to Busch Gardens and the cost of food is less and amount is more for the price. Either way we had fun but next time we will bring a cooler and some food.

Jay Williams

Absolutely beautiful scenery! The 3 fountains are amazing! Not too busy. Lines weren't too long. Good shows. Not great. Pretty big water park! Great for family's! Oh but,! The some of the ride operators are very rude! Young kids who don't show respect!.

Nick p

Overall great experience for the price. Great variety of rides. But the biggest ride was closed the whole day(very disappointing). Wait times are very reasonable. Throughout the day multiple rides were closed for a duration of time. The Kings Dominion app is very useful. Definitely better than its competitors six flags and Busch gardens.

Skylyn Ferguson

Great place for the WHOLE family! There is something for everyone here. Tickets can be pricey, but you can look online and find great bundle deals! ALSO, check with your employer. A LOT of jobs have discounts for Kings Dominion!

Odetta Wright

KD was so much fun. I am an Exceptional Ed teacher at Albert Hill Middle School and I was so excited to go during the free teacher weekend. The staff were so friendly and eventhough I didn't win a tiger I truly enjoyed myself. Thank you Kings Dominion!!!!

Hussein Awala

Great amusement park. Well organized. I would go early so you can avoid some of the long lines. Food options could be a bit better, but that is not why you are there any ways. All in all you will have a lot of fun .

Aaron Leininger

If you like roller coasters, I think this is the best amusement park in the NC/Va area. The kids area is also very good for the little ones.

Emily Boyd

I've come to Kings Dominion almost every summer since I was young. The rides always seem to be new and invigorating. I believe, like me, many others will enjoy Kings Dominion

Emily Haynes

We come here every Sunday and have a great time! After spending a few hours in the heat, you can stroll on over to the water park and cool off . Amazing place for kids. The Food is pretty expensive, pack a picnic if you want to save a little money. You cannot bring food into the park but are granted re-entry all day by them stamping your hand

Casey Buchanan

This is the place to come for fun. Its popular so can get busy but they have an amazing track record. Way better than BG or 6flags.

Kelly Hueting

There were times I would have rated Kings Dominion with 5 stars but there have been many changes and none are currently positive. I have heard many negative comments from employees throughout the park so I suspect they aren’t treated to well by corporate. Shock wave is gone. The mountain is gone along with Volcano and even the older mountain rides such as the haunted river. All classic favorites. The Rebel Yell has been renamed and it was difficult to find the entrance. The one major change that I would like to see is recycling for all the plastic containers. Food is much pricier here. I have also been going to Hershey and Busch Gardens since I was a kid. They’ve had changes too but mostly have been positive. I’d go either of those parks over KD in the future. It makes me sad because I used to love this park most. 2019.

Lily Riehn

Lots of fun rides. Went on two days when it wasn't too terribly busy. Water park was very crowded on first visit. There are lots of fun rides for families as well as games and crazy coasters. Fun shows to watch. A few good photo ops. Bathrooms are very smelly. Changing area in the water park is extremely smelly.

Michele McDermott

We picked the perfect day to go because there were no lines, and the night time lights are absolutely beautiful! As for the food, can we say that the chicken strips are grossly overpriced, and seems like they were either deep fried more than once (to maintain their warmth) or just sitting under the heat lap drying out topped with cold fries.

gravelroad

Fun place to spend a day with your kids, but go during the week to avoid lines. My daughter loves the haunt best. Too bad the volcano is gone; that will be a tough act to follow. Oh, and check out a show, you won't be disappointed, and it's a great place to cool off. Water park is a nice bonus. Food is crazy expensive.

Sarah Johnson

I haven't been to KD since I was a teenager. Im now 28. It was a ton of fun. My son enjoyed it. Got busier as the night went on for Halloween Haunt. All the food places were crowded and the drink refill stations had no ice. But I I expected that. My favorite haunt was the corn stalkers. They got me good in there.

Lisa Wilson

Lot's of fun. Wished waterfall worked on White Water canyon ride. Would have made it more fun.

Scott Broaddus

Great roller coasters. Water park can be sketchy. Urine smell and rude lifeguards take away from the rest of this awesome park. They made a mistake taking out the Volcano coaster. It's chalk outline is still there. Sad.

Craig Babcock

We had a great time at Kings Dominion. Showed up at opening and we were able to basically walk onto the rides for the first hour. Did the coasters first, then the less busy rides in the afternoon when it got too hot to wait in line. Our favorite was Twisted Timbers, but all of them were fun and made for a great day. Food and drink prices are high, so plan on packing a lunch if you want to go cheap.

Josh VanValkenburg

A ton of fun, with a few nice picnic areas outside so you can even bring a cooler and save on food. Almost no waits on the rides both days we came. Great value!!

Shaun Daniels

All in all we always have a good time. The Kings enjoy themselves and so we. The wife wasn't too happy as we were at the kids places and all you could smell is weed. Either the smoking spots need moved or policed better.

Michael Heekin

Great Cedar Fair Park. The top three rides are amazing and the others 5 are solid too. Intimidator 305 is one of the most intense coasters in the world, you will start to black out on the first turn! Its amazing. Almost no lines on a hot midweek early August day.

Logan Hooks

This park brings so much fun and variety into your life easy roller coasters to huge thrilling experience coasters water slides to wave pools. Awesome live music multiple festivals going on and in the fall a Halloween haunt craze with multiple scary mazes and shows and now offering winterfest the giant fountain turns into a skating rink and the whole park turns into a winter wonderland. And the giant tower is lit up like a Christmas tree. Mind blowing this park is amazing!!

Jeremiah Woode

I had so much fun with my boys. I realized I'm not as excited about roller coasters as I once was. Lol. Everyone in the park was super nice and sweet. Make sure you buy your tickets before you arrive and the refresh stands are a cool idea. Free refills is what the boys looked forward to.

Darnella G

Always a great time. I especially love the Eiffel tower. I am interested to see what they do with the empty volcano space!

Mrs. Lyn

I used to go all the time as a kid and teen. It was exciting sharing this experience with my kids. There were no lines. My only issue was the price of food. It's more than Disney World.

Maria D

Awesome park!!! We paid so much for water country USA and Busch gardens where we spent more time waiting on line then going on the rides. When we got to King’s Dominion for a quarter of the price we had a blast! Amusement and water park in one, definitely will come back again!! Great place for adults and families.

PRican QueenJay

It's a great place to have fun, but thing's are far as maintenance on rides need to be more on par and well Volcano is no longer apart of the family so I assume they need to think fast on what to replace there in that hole! Personally they need more FAMILY FRIENDLY COASTERS THAT DON'T FLIP UPSIDE DOWN, BUT THAT CAN DO QUIRKY SIDE TURNS like the Back Lot, Intimidator, Avalanche and theme wise should be something to do with ancient ruins so at least kids can enjoy more coasters as well.

jonathan mills

The rides were good but every person on the staff were very lethargic. When you are waiting in line for an hour to ride a ride for 30 seconds the last thing you want to see is the person running the ride to be sluggishly moving around. The wait time for every line could have been cut in half if the slow ride people that worked there cared about the customers.

Terri K

Fun, shaded, and a variety of things to do. Only down sides are not being permitted to bring food or drink in the park (even when having children), prices are 5 times the normal, and lots of bees at the outdoor refill stations for drinks. Besides that, the kids area was clean, easy to read and understand signs, and all in 1 area for convenience. Water park was watched well, clean, and plenty of safety jackets for all ages. Would recommend season passes for anyone planning to go more than 3 times a year (pays for itself).

Pete Schroeder

What a great day! Very minimal crowd, paid for the Fast lane plus & barely had to use it. Awesome park!

Lorenzo McGill

Wonderful time with family. We all had an awesome time allowing the kids and young adults to unwind and enjoy themselves

Eric Greaux

The prices are downright insulting! A bottle of water or so Day is $4.58?? Really? Twenty dollars for a slice of pizza, $7.99 for a small French fry, no wonder everyone brings their own food and is picnics outside of the park. Price-gouging working families is not cool. We didn’t hang around to see how much beer went for. No thanks.

Laurie Anderson

My son and his friends love it. I don’t ride rides and wish there were more shady benches areas. Food is outrageously expensive and not good at all and I’ve eaten at all major places here. Boardwalk Fries is good for a snack and the prices are reasonable. Employees are awful! There have been a few nice ones but most are terrible. Especially in the dining areas. Slowest service and so rude. I’ll keep going back for the kids but will probably start bringing a lunch. If you have a season pass, get a guest ticket online before you go to save a lot of money. Also download the app for relatively accurate ride wait times and more.

Jorge Martinez

Excellent amusement park. One of the best in the area no doubt. The water park is awesome a lot of rides to do. The regular park has many rides to have fun with family and kids. The have shows at certain hours where you can go and take a brake and still have fun! Food and drinks are too expensive. I think they should give free water or at least provide a good filtered water because the one they have taste awful. Overall experience good

Mark Collins

This was my first year with a season pass. Kings Dominion is a wonderful place to go when it is not crowded. When it is crowded, they don't do the greatest job of managing lines and often the soda machines run out of ice by the afternoon. Weekdays and late spring are the best time. The Parks strongest point is it's excellent assortment of roller coasters. I highly recommend twisted timbers, dominator, and intimidator. The water park has a good assortment of water slides, but the lazy river is anything but lazy. I have never at any other park had to wait in a 20-minute line to get into the lazy river. I would best describe food at the park as overpriced and less than outstanding. The boardwalk fries are excellent in the smoked turkey drumsticks are wonderful, nothing else really stands out. sometimes they have a deal where you can get a concessions meal once every 90 minutes. You can feed a family of four all day on that deal and it only cost about $30.

Andrew Vincent

My wife and I have season passes to Kings Dominion. We live in Hampton so we don’t go as frequently as Busch Gardens, but everytime we go we have a blast. We went twice already for Halloween Haunt and we think it was better than Busch Gardens Halloween event. There are so many coasters and rides here.

Spencer Ford

Great afternoon with my girlfriend super short lines thank to our fast pass. Great deal there. So many games to play and things to do. All in all an amazing afternoon.

Cheryl Thomas

Me and my kids love kings dominion. We always have a great time. The only thing I don't like is when they have a special event and there's more people there than usual, it takes forever to get out of the parking lot. It took me over two hours to leave the parking lot and that was only because I got lucky. I would have been there even longer if my sister didn't call me and let me in front of her. She happened to be in a spot that was going a littler faster.

SOMEONE INAZ

Loved this place!! Roller coasters and water park all wrapped up in one a thrill seekers paradise! I recommend spending the extra money on the all inclusive tickets if you can. You get parking, meals, fun pics, fast pass lane, a souvenir bottle for all day drinks, and a whole lot of fun filled adventure! Don't forget to check out the shows they have playing in the theaters there either they're GREAT!

Jason Collins

This was an awesome park to visit, it is very clean and had some great themes and decorations. They have a ton of rides and rollercoasters. Everyone we came into contact with was so very friendly and helpful. It is definitely a park we will visit again.

Tammy Cunningham

Today was the first day of Halloween Hunt at Kings Dominion. Plant Snoopy was great for the younger ones. They had a ball but the closed the kiddie festivities at 7pm to being the Halloween Hunt. Which was exciting also to see the different scary costumes. Which they had a few people scared and running. Overall it was a great first experience for me because I don't do scary anything!!

Steven Chong

Kings Dominion is a very nice amusement park for the whole family. Lots of excellent rides and many options for food. Everything is pricey, but it's expected. Eiffel Tower is very nice as it allows all visitors to have a view of the entire park from high above.

Joezia Lofton

Kings Dominion is fun. But the need to hire more people for maintained there changing rooms and bathroom. They need their toilet to flush on it's own and to be able to wash hands by automatic sinks. But much fun the kids always enjoy themselves make me happy.

Ayanna B.

My family and I recently spent the day at Kings Dominion. The Eiffel Tower when you first enter the park is absolutely beautiful! We went on a day when the weather was about 80 degrees. Everyone had a wonderful time! The lines for the rides in Planet Snoopy were very short. This was great since our preschooler was very anxious. There are lots of rides, an arcade and waterpark. Overall I think this is a great amusement park!

Tiffany Thigpen

Went to the Haunt this year. Good times. Not the scariest, but that's age dependent. Worth the trip for the rides and attractions.

Steph Rene

Great park. Bring a hat and sunscreen as many of the queues lack shade. On a hot day, go check out the show in the theatre-- it's air conditioned. Buy tickets online, not at the gate to save money. Twisted Timbers is probably the best coaster in the park. Only thing is they will require you to lock up bags/water bottles before getting in line.

John Deaton

My son truly enjoyed the Monster trucks at Kings Dominion and getting pictures taken with Dennis Anderson and his sons! Dennis Anderson and his sons are truly stand up guys!!! They spent 15 minutes signing are gear and taking photos and talking with my family! We will always be #1 fan's of grave digger and sons!!! And continue to follow and support # Team Grave Digger!!! Thank you Team Grave Digger for the awesome day! The, DEATON'S

Joshua Stewart

I love Kings Dominion, a little upset they got rid of the Nickelodeon characters and people in costumes. However they still put on good shows. Also don't like the new rules of having too put things in a locker to ride twisted timbers it's a cool ride, but feels like it might just be a money grab.

Susana D.

Amazing amusement park. Plenty of rides for all ages, and very well categorized by levels of thrill and danger. If you get the tickets on line as the parking, you pay way much less than going and buying there. There is also a seasonal pass recommended for lovers of rides and enjoyment. The park is very clean, nice, and their employees very nice. We went on a Friday and it wasn't crowded, but we could foresee that on Saturdays and Sundays the lines could be huge. Well organized and visited by all ages makes it more attractive. The down side are the prices from drinks to food. Really very expensive. You have to calculate each edible or drinkable item costs 4 to 5 times more than the regular price. It's a ton of money for a family with kids or everyone. They offer a free refills promo, but you have to leave it while you ride, then they are placed together (some rides have divided "lockers") and you don't know which one is yours or you walk away forgetting it. Anyway fun comes with a high price tag attached. They are also acts, performances, themes, bands, very cute. Enjoy!

Meghan Dalton

What's not to love about rollercoasters? The park was great. Amazingly clean considering the volume of people. All of the staff we interacted with was pleasant and helpful. Be prepared to spend as food, snacks, and souvenirs are pretty pricey. I think the average meal price is close to 15 bucks just to give you an idea.

Sarah Worsham

Took my son for the first time. Great young kids area. Haven't been on years and will go back again soon.

Neda HAbersham

We loved it! It was a family getaway before my son left for Japan! The entire family had as n awesome time! Be sure to stop by the chocolate covered apples shoppe one delicious

Ellen Spence

Nice shade, shuttles from campground, wonderful campground. Free refill ticket is small cup, so sorry we didn't all get ticket with free refills. We got 5 AAA tickets for $38 without free refill, and for limited time can get $39 ticket online with free refills. We got 2 tickets with free refills thinking we would have plenty of drink? Won't do that again. Today beautiful day, no wait lines. FUN!

Michelle Scott

It was a great time but some of the rides were breaking down that day. Like 4 of them.... but overall it was fun. Really recommend going but only if you like roller coasters otherwise it's a waste of money

John Ellicot

Food service at kings dominion is a disaster. Totally understaffed. 45 minute line at Panda Express. One cashier. Kings dominion knows you are captive and take advantage of it. Same thing at other food places. Plus they charge 3-4x higher prices. Too greedy. Will never come back.

Jamal Mitchell

My family and I really enjoyed ourselves. Jay that worked at Upgrade Your Day on the night of September 1, 2019 was very nice and patient while my family and I selected which pictures we wanted to print. Although we were stopping by at nearly park closing time, he treated us like we were the first customers for the day. Kings Dominion should employ more workers like Jay. Lastly, I think Kings Dominion should somewhat relax their policy on bringing in beverages. Similar to Hershey Park. We should be allowed to bring in one bottle of unopened water per person - at least.

Triston Martin

Amazing I lost a personal item in the park and was returned to me in about a week's time with no problem exceptional. rides are amazing water parks very cool

Les Rowh

A great place so much to do but very pricey. Make sure you bring bathing suits cause you cant go to the water park part without them. Loved the coasters and all the rides. A great family trip.

dnshift1

Awesome as always if you're into coasters of all kinds. This is not a show park. There is no characters for kids of some sort. It is not Disney or Busch Garden where it is kids friendly! This is a roller coaster park! If you're not riding any of the rollercoaster or rides stay home you'll just add to the crowd without a purpose!

P Williams

Hadn't been in a few years until memorial day weekend. Saw they retired the volcano but are going to replace it with something new. The twisted timbers (refurbished Hurler) is a good ride that will snap you up and down. You would enjoy this ride for the roller coasters enthusiast. Overall you will enjoy your time here

Bryan Torres

Awesome theme park. Water park too. I purchased a 2 day pass for my family while on vacation in Virginia. (I’m from NYC) It was about 15 of us and we all had fun.

Terri Pittman

Park was great! So many fun rides! Loved everything we rode. Food prices are insane (even for a theme park) and not all that great. You can honestly eat cheaper at Disney! There are some really grouchy employees here that need a lot more training. The few nice ones we ran into were REALLY nice though. Park was clean! I noticed on a few rides that they didn't fill the cars to capacity even though the line to get on was long. If a ride held 4 people, they'd send it down with just 2 people. Search the line for a party of 2! Fill it up and cut the wait time!

Maria Mantilla

I had a fun time going here with my family. It's what you expect, a fun amusement park with rides for any age. They have a lovely new app that allows you to see the wait times of each ride and other cool tricks. Also you should always check if they have a deal going on online when you buy your tickets. It's better to pay a lower price for the same things.

Abbey Crandall

I had an amazing time, there lots of fast rollercoasters and the food is amazing. The place is very expensive without all day meal and drink tickets, which I strongly recommend. I was totally impressed with some of the thrill rides. I strongly recommend going here. I hope you have a great time if you go. Have FUN!

Connor Hagen

I love the thrill of the rides! I was also there during their Grand Carnivale, and I saw their parade. It looked like they were legitimately having fun, not just doing it because they had to. I do wish they had a better atmosphere around their rides, but that's my only complaint. One of the reasons Flight of Fear, one of the rides at King's Dominion, is my favorite ride is because they take time to set the mood and atmosphere. It also helps that the ride operators try to have fun getting into the act. Unfortunately, very few of their rides do this, though the ride operators still all have a lot of fun with their jobs. If you're getting a season pass, I recommend getting the dining plan on each of them and the drink add-on on at least half of them. The dining plan gives you two meals per day with a good selection to choose from. The drink add-on allows you to get a drink from any refreshment station or restaurant every 15 minutes, so you can easily share them. You'll definitely be able to get your money's worth out of both of these, even if you just go once a month. Water is free at any restaurant or refreshment station, regardless of if you have the dining plan and drink add-on or not. Just ask for a water cup.

S Holland

Nice place for the children and family. Tons of walking and the lines can be long but it's great fun for the family.

Pamela Daniel

We love KD great amusement park very close by. Planet Snoopy is for the young ones. Great shows and music. There shows are excellent we saw Gravit and the acrobatics were just as good as circus sol but on a smaller scale. GO AND HAVE FUN!

Vernon Burdick

This amusement park is outstanding! I have been to Busch gardens, the Disney parks, Six Flags as well as a few lesser known parks and I have to say this park is better for our family. If you go during the week it isn't overcrowded and they offer food and ride deals similar to the larger parks. Go online to check out the meal/drink deals as well as other promotions they may offer. Our hotel had a shuttle service from our hotel to the park. I will cancel our annual trip to Disney this year and come back here instead.

phil

Place has definitely improved in terms of cleanliness and overall appearance. Did not like that most of the coasters have removed the personal items bins and force you to rent lockers now though. Having to lock up your water bottle before standing in an hour plus long line on a hot day is frustrating. Some rides even go as far as having metal detectors at the end of the queue and attendants to stop you from bringing drinks in line with you. Look forward to seeing the park after all the renovations are complete though.

Bryan Truong

This place is dope. It was a great experience. Plenty of rides to pick from. The rides ranges from a roller coaster made of all wood to the infamous Intimidator with a big drop! It was truly breathtaking. The adrenaline rush is off the charts.

Emma-Caroline Avery

All that I need to say is Boo Blaster! It was the best ride at the park, and I have to say that I’m guilty of riding it 10 times in a row. The other rides were quite fun and the waits very short. I’m happy with my experience here. I got an abundance of pictures with Snoopy. He was just sitting in the park by the Snoopy Boutique. Loved every minute of it. The drinks were plentiful, but they were a little pricy; however, it was not unreasonable. I also rescued a bird in the Snoopy Boutique. It makes me happy to know that I got to make the day of a bird. I’ve let him/her live another day and live a wonderful life. Come to King’s Dominion for a family friendly time with many fun rides.

Stefanie Stoneberger

Today was the perfect day to visit Kings Dominion. Lines were short, the park was not crowded all the staff we encountered were super friendly. We had a small delay on the Apple Dapple and the two girls working the ride gave people in line water while we waited. They were so kind and thoughtful!

Tonya Henderson

Great place to go. I had an amazing time. Lots to do see and eat.

Kimberly Emerson

Love the attractions. It's a great place. I appreciate that they're here and each and every staff member that shows up to make sure everyone has a great time.

Chi

Great time, well planned park layout with a wealth of available restrooms and hydration options. Numerous classic rides as well as contemporary high speed roller coasters, well attended to, with line queues that are efficient and simple. Weather dependent, so check before going.

Amanda Atkins

Awesome afternoon and night with the family. First night of Halloween scare. Park was clean. And well took care of. Unlimited drinks stands closed one by one farther and farther apart. So that wasn't fun tring to find an open stand. All the people dressed as the dead were awseome. Thanks fir a great day.

Jon Carr

Always a good time. Adrenaline Junkies Playground.. We have season passes and use them as much as possible.. Lots of fun for the entire family, all ages can enjoy...

Aesthetic_tacos

It has good rides, nice food, (although most of it is overpriced) and a great water park. They have a giant section of the park dedicated just for smaller kids, (Snoopy Land) and very friendly staff. Make sure to get some Rita's Ice to cool off on a hot day!

Joel Ward

The park is good. I've been going here since I was a kid in the 1980s. Consistently we'll run through all the different owners. Rides are good. The kids love them. Staff is hit or miss, especially in the food stands. The picnic pavilion food and service has gotten better over the years.

Walter Nanez

Review for Park & Haunt event: The park is always a great time, lots of different and thrilling rides. Roller coasters are excellent and the food is good but a little pricey. They have food trucks inside of the park and they are a bit cheaper. A long wait on the weekends but if you happen to go on a weekday it is very nice and you can ride the coasters twice in a row. (They don't let you ride a third time for some reason). The Haunt 2019: Excellent this year. Good props and very good environment (Except for Blackout, that one sucked). Good detail in costumes. The actors were very professional and stayed in character. The haunt zones were crazy, the actors really seemed to be enjoying themselves and getting into a scares. This year we got the Fright Lane again (Fast pass for Haunted mazes) and they were worth it since it was opening night the lines were very long. No skeleton key this year and no little attractions for them which is a shame since they added some value to it. One can still get a "no boo" necklace to avoid scares from scare zones. Overall very good, would say better than Busch Gardens' Howl-o-Scream.

Melanie Ackard

We were worried about how hot it was going to be but there is plenty of shade and we didn't notice the heat at all. There was plenty for my 2 year old to do, and the family center is an amazing addition to allow for keeping small children cool/fed. This has been and still is one of my all time favorite places since I was a child!

Tony Agayby

First time visiting and the parkhead very reasonable, short lines for almost all the rides. We were able to get on almost anything within 30 minutes. It was odd however that anytime you try to have a conversation with any member of the staff they were completely clueless and unable to provide any answers with finding something in the park or even knowing anything about the rides or the food.

Matthew Lee

Sadly, I'm afraid I may be too old for roller coasters now, but, still, that Grizzly was not good. It was the first coaster we got on, and I was impressed at how unsafe it felt. My wife and I were bounced from side to side, my head was jolted back and forth to the point where I thought I'd get a concussion, and then it slammed to a halt. I loved roller coasters but hadn't been on one in 5 years. Perhaps this is the standard or I've gotten old, but the Grizzly actively caused me pain and simply took a lot of the fun out of the day. I will not be back. The cute little apple something coaster was a lot better except for the sudden jolt at the end that winded me. Very fun!

Kelly Applegate

Awesome park BUT the employees are AWFUL! EVERY single one of the employees in the KIDS section were so slow at moving, and not one of them smiled at anything. You work in the kids section, at least put a smile on your face! Please train the employees to be courteous and show some pride that they have a job there.

Illyana Alba

I have always found going after 12pm there aren't as many long tines. I do wish there were more maps around the park. With my stupid sense of direction it was a little confusing weaving through blindly. But its possible I just missed picked up a map to carry around from the entrance. Otherwise, loads of fun as always! Twisted Timbers was really shaky so if you have a week neck, I suggest being careful.

Ride AMAP

We live in TN and have been to parks all over the US and this park in top 3 in our book. We love the thrill rides here. The 6 hour drive is worth it to us to visit the great park.

Matthew Perna

Its a blast. But make sure you don't wear flip flops or something similar. Your feet will appreciate it. Alot of walking involved.

Tia Edwards

I hadn't visited the park in over 10 years. I was excited about a lot of the new things that made my visit awesome. The app helps out a lot. It was easier finding my vehicle with the option to save my car's location! In the park there were old favorites from years ago and several new and exciting attractions as well. Hopefully it won't be another 10 years before my next visit

Sammie W

Always a great park, but might be time to take down the "Grizzly" Usually I want a ride to end because it's fast, but I'm having a great time. I wanted Grizzly to end because it physically hurt. Most others on the rode agreed it was just a painful experience that left riders unable to enjoy the thrill of the ride itself

Kriste Chase

Great rides and a family-friendly atmosphere. The family building is by far the best thing they could have for parents with babies. It makes taking care of them so much easier and cleaner than regular restrooms.

Erik T

Great experience, wish the employees were happier though. Felt bad for them. Everything else was amazing.. great coasters, lines ran quick, employees were A+

Ty Spell

It was an amazing experience. Definitely will return. Just wish they had fast lane for the Anaconda ride. That's my one negative comment.

Sharon West

I love going to kings dominion with my family and friends. The only thing I would say that i dont like is that you can no longer leave your items in a bow on rides. They suggest that you spend 15 to 25 dollars on a locker. Who wants to rent a locker for that price near each different section?

LaToya Jacques

I also have an amazing experience at KIngs Dominion! The rides are awesome and Soak City-the wave pool is great as well. The workers are usually friendly but most of them are teenagers so you have to remember that when you are there.

Tiffany Mangigian

We love This place! We have gone here for as long as I can remember. Every year we get seasons passes. I love how it has everything in one park. The little kids ride the water park and all the shows it’s always a great time. I am so sad they took out the dinosaurs. I love how you can get season passes on a payment plan for a family of 7 it’s great because we can actually afford passes. We love the Halloween stuff and the Christmas was beautiful this year! The only thing I wish they did was when you buy the refill cups I wish they could attach it to your pass because every year someone steals our cups! But we love this place!

Brianna Witsman

Super clean park in general. The employees were knowledgeable, friendly, and safety conscious. Cedar Fair always manages their parks well (especially compared to Six Flags). I have a season pass to their park Worlds of Fun in KC annually. I think if I lived close to Kings Dominion, I would definitely have one for it, too.

Chris Miller

Kids had fun. I was worn out at the end of the day, that's not a bad thing. But hey guys, some better seating in some shade would be nice! 40 years ago, that heat there well didn't pay attention to it! Now the drinks, could do a little better sizing your all day cup. I'm old larger, perspir a lot, need fluids!see you next year!!!

Nathaniel McClean

It's a wonderful place with lots to do. There are rides to cater all ages (and fear levels). Beyond the rides, there are a wide variety of food and drink options, including alcohol for those stressed out parents. The park close pretty late too so it's possible to get most of the park in one day if you plan correctly.

Kimberly Cook

Kings dominion as always is amazing. Great food, great fun, great rides, great people and great prices. Order a season pass now for the lowest price for all of next year's fun!!!

Jonathan Miller

I loved this park as a kid when it was owned by Paramount. Seeing my favorite cartoon characters was amazing and memorable. Since then it has gone downhill... I've been many times since the 80s, but most frequently in the past two years, and have been let down again and again. The rides are excellent and thrilling, if they are operating and the lines aren't too long. The problem as I see it is under-staffing and poor communication. They have more than enough staff when you want to pay to play games, purchase food items, or buy souvenirs, but when it comes to staffing the rides they fall very short. Oftentimes, the best time to go is during the week when attendance is low and the lines are short - you'll be less affected by short-staffing. If you go on a busy day, weekend, holiday, or for a special event you will wait, sometimes for quite awhile, again and again. For example, this past Sunday and friend and I went to ride some rides in the afternoon. We first went to Racer 75 (formerly the Rebel Yell), and only one side was operating, the other side of the "race" was shut down. They had two employees working this ride and a single train; we waited for nearly an hour. If both sides were operating with two trains on both tracks there would be little to no wait, we know because we've experienced it on the busiest of days. We moved onto the Anaconda and as we were waiting in line were told the ride was temporarily closed because a patron had dropped her keys in the station. Many people starting walking back out the entrance, but we persevered and waited. After three test runs, with two trains operating, we only waited about 15 minutes. Score! So, we moved onto the Grizzly, where the line wasn't too long, one train running and no less than 5 employees present. Strangely, four of the five were busy joking around, singing happy birthday over the PA, and dancing - the only person working and checking the train was the supervisor. We found this disappointing knowing that two of these employees could go open and work the other side of Racer 75, but were too busy horse-playing. On this day, Dominator was closed and reopened frequently, so we chanced it and headed there before exiting the park - the app showed it as open with a 10 minute wait. Far better than the 240 minute wait it had been showing (if not Closed) for the majority of the day. As we approached, we were told the ride was closed, yet again. We left disappointed and will likely be buying passes to Busch Gardens (Water Country) next season. Not only are they better staffed, but the park is far cleaner and the employees have been trained well in Customer Service. All in all, pack your patience first, and be sure to bring money because if you are willing to spend it they are willing to take it - without a wait. Apologies for the long review, and thank you for reading.

Kelley Hunter

It was a lot of fun but very hard to find your way around. Very few signs or markers to help you get from ride to ride.

Michael P

Go for the rides not the food. $15 burger should have been disappointing $3 burger. But it's a theme park, great rides.

Tracey Greene

Definitely a must-see if you're ever in the area. But never go on a humid day because it is really hard to get around dripping with sweat but definitely a five-star establishment and recommend it to anyone who goes in this area

Andrew Pfeil

A+ family oriented theme park!!! Fun and action packed for the whole family, from 2yrs old to 80yrs old!!! Get the best of both worlds from the water park to the thrill rides!! There are four rides that I give 5 star, thrill rides that will make you piss your pants or atleast have you screaming until its over! Can't wait for Halloween and Christmas time because they have something special during those festive times of year. The food is good and cold drinks are available non stop. They have some good shows that take place inside for quick break to soak up some cold ac before stepping back out into excitement town. They offer all kinds of price deals. We had an amazing time here and so much fun! Get your season passes!! Fun fun fun!!! Can't wait to experience Haunted and to see their Christmas display!!

Katherine Otten

The new roller coaster is awesome! And that was the highlight. Every thing else was just okay. Long lines, rude employees. The water park was a mess. Not enough employees to open all the slides apparently but plenty of life gaurds standing around goofing off & ignoring the patrons. This park is way past its prime. Drive a little further & go to Busch Gardens.

Steve Waddell

Halloween haunt was better last year, it's definitely not what it used to be. They did an amazing job with details however in the walkthroughs. They slowed down the intimidator for sure. If you can't ride a roller coaster with such speed, don't ruin it for those who are thrill seekers by complaining.

Kristen Burch

Cedar Fair loves to say they have so many coasters, however that’s including kiddie coasters and coasters such as Grizzly that is so rough. The whole park smelled of deep-fried food and cigarettes. It reminded me of an upscale fair. If you are going to one park in Virginia, opt for Busch Gardens! It’s way nicer and has better rides.

Linda Brown

Visited the park on Labor Day 9/2/19 after not having visited for many years. Very disappointed that several rides were not operational such as the flight of fear, the log flume , and white water canyon. We rode one of the coaster rides called Back Lot and enjoyed that a lot and went back for a second ride only to find it was closed. Very disappointing visit and I’m not sure I’ll return since the park already lost the best coaster ride the Volcano!

Grant Cooper

Another Cedar Fair park that entertains and delights but rarely surprises. Kings Dominion is especially notable for its vast quantity of rides, including Dominator, Avalanche, Twisted Timbers, and more. Unfortunately, quantity does not equal quality and some of the rides, especially the older wooden ones, can be very rough on some riders. Regardless, the park has enough good rides to make up for it, with the unique bobsled experience Avalanche and the excellent Twisted Timbers being two of the best (RIP Volcano ride, you will be missed). Overall a very fun theme park, with plenty to offer for families and friends alike.

Brandy Huhn

Great park! Cedar point is our home park, but this year we bought platinum passes and decided to try out a few other Cedar Fair properties. This was by far our favorite. Intimidator is THE BEST. I hope we can return sometime.

Tiffany Baskett

Always a fun time with every trip. Souvenir shops are great. And wonderful food and rides.

Danielle Sweet

Great place to take the kids! Happy we live less than an hour away and can afford season passes with meal plans. I don't regret that purchase at all! It takes a little while to get good at finding your way around and ways to make things easier but if we can afford passes next year then we will deifnitely get them.

abdullah alshayie

It is great. You may buy the tickets online, it is going to be a cheaper. It is 49 dollars online while in front disk it is 70 dollar. When I visited it, it was not too busy. So you do not need to buy a fast way which costs 75 dollars(online 60 dollars). It is the best choice for families since it has a lot of games for children and adults. But what I don't like in it there is no many cuisines.

Michael Krasa

Great stuff. The queues weren't too bad since we went on a Monday. The lockers are a rip off, just put your backpacks on top. Definitely go to the water park as well.

Dana Bernier

Had a blast would highly recommend. Lots of fun roller coasters, clean park, and fireworks at closing. Food and beer prices are high and food is not that good...

shadow lewis

All I can say is charging as much as it cost for a case of water for one or two bottles is just ridiculous. If you bring your own food and drinks or eat after you leave you can have a good time without breaking the bank. Great weather today we came on a Wednesday.. no long lines good time had by all.

Tiffany Lundin

I'd give 3.5 stars maybe even 4 but I only came for the water park so I can't share my experience about the other rides. The theme of the park is odd. I guess it's divided into different countries but it's not like Epcot. Make sure you go right at opening because the wait times for the water slides were non existent. We had done everything in less than 2 hours and so we were ready to go by hour 3. Most of the staff acted like they didn't want to be there while the other half were great. The lifeguards were on top of it though and so if you have kids, the safety was top notch. They are very strict on what you can wear on slides, even though we thought water shoes were ok, they were not. Instructed to take them off and hold them if you go on slides. It's also a shame that the food at the park has so many bad reviews, there were food stations on every corner but many reviews say it's gross and not worth it. If they would take better strides with food I'd definitely enjoy it more. Overall the water park was worth the military discount but probably wouldn't come again this summer

Monica Friend-Bland

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed an opportunity to bring out the kid in us. I would like to thank Kings Dominion for allowing the military to have an opportunity to visit the amusement park for free last week. We thoroughly enjoyed the rides the shows and the atmosphere. The carnival parade, music and dance party was truly a highlight for the evening.

Sienna Williams

Friendly staff and plenty to do. My children and I have visited the park 15 times this season and plan to return for the Halloween Haunt and WinterFest. This is our 6th year getting season passes, we live 45 minutes from Six Flags America but find the 2 1/2 hour drive to King’s Dominion is well worth it. We enjoy the atmosphere and variety of rides. We also enjoy the extras such as Carnival, Monster Jam and variety of shows.

skullhard74

Roller coasters, water park and more. The Intimidator 305 roller coaster while sitting in the very 1st seat is a wicked fast ride. The downhill drop is crazy steep and it's 305 feet up. You reach the bottom of the drop at an eye watering 91 mph. The Drop Zone is another adrenaline booster that will take your breath. I've been going to this park since I was a small kid, now I'm a grown up kid and still have just as much fun.
