REVIEWS OF Goblin Valley State Park IN Utah

Gregory Dayley

Small campground with small sites on top of each other. Love the location and the showers. They need to expand the campground and make the sites larger though.

Mina Cicconi

Amazing state park to visit. Be sure to have plenty of food, water and fuel for your vehicle... There's nothing out there for hundreds of miles, and it's literally in the middle of nowhere. You won't have cell reception, so be prepared for that. Definitely make sure your car is equipped with a reliable GPS. It's about $15 to enter the park. The park ranger at the front entrance was neither friendly nor informative, so be sure to do a bit of research in advance. But definitely a must see with tons of extraordinary photo ops!

Heidi Pack

Clean, awesome, wild! And with a new frisbee golf course around it that is way busy and hip - is such a fun family day vacation spot! We drove 3 hours there, ran around for 4 hours, and drove home. Way worth it. We took our 2 4, and 6 year olds and they didn't get bored even a little!

Alicia Baxter

Goblin valley is AMAZING. Definitely a must see, I was blown away by the rock sculptures

happy wanderer

Camped at Goblin Valley State Park in late August 2018. The facilities were nice; covered picnic tables, flush toilets, and showers. I suggest camping close to the cliffs for earlier shade in the evening. The walk through the rock goblins was fun, many unique shapes and it's possible to feel lost wandering through them. The park staff ran a BIG generator at the ranger residence from 5 to 8 PM which became very annoying.

Aminu Gidado

A naturally sculptured sandstone rocks formation in an arid Utah deserts. They are awesome and breathtaking sceneries that would naturally appeal to any viewer. I really love the sights. The red sandstone eroded cliffs and the surrounding high hills of alternating white to red mottled colors is an amazing catch as seeing against the blue skylines..the place could be hot so advisable to have your cool drinks handy as you visit.

Michael Lopez

Nice easy hikes with good view. The ranger at the station wasn't very helpful though.

Terri Berry

Really fun place to hike around. They also they yurts for rent which we didn’t do because we didn’t know about it beforehand but it looks like it would be fun

Rosie Whatcott

Love camping here and hiking ding and dang. So fun and breathtaking

Quinten Klingonsmith

Enjoyed the 1.5 mile hike to Goblin's Lair, a huge one room cavern that some people repel into. We scrabbled down into it.

Amber Metts

Had an absolute amazing time at this park! You can climb the formations, wasnt sure if we could prior to going. Kids had a blast running free and jumping rock to rock. There is also a small cave hole on the backside of the main park to climb in.

John Hough

Cool, but smaller than I thought it would be.

Richard Ross

Goblin Valley is such a great place for families. Kids can run around and play on and in the hudus without being told, "Don't touch anything" or "Don't step off the trail" like in so many places. There is little danger of being hurt or seriously lost.

Brent Berrett

Love exploring the hoodoos. So much fun to explore. Be sure to explore areas 2 and 3. Hardly a soul around in those areas. They are also fun to explore under a full moon. If you like camping, the campgrounds are nice, as they have shaded pavilions and a shower! It’s a remote location so be sure to bring what you need, ax the visitor center doesn’t have any groceries. The bike trails were perfect for our young kids. The staff has always been helpful and gone out of their way to help. The sunrise is amazing here.

Diana Maxwell

Great fun for my littles, they loved climbing on the rocks. I thought $15 was a bit much for a day pass.

Tess Cameron

Loved visiting this park! You can’t use your annual parks pass so be ready to pay the entrance fee of $15. Both hikes I did started off really straight forward but then signage and trail markers disappeared so be prepared and alert of your path. The park itself is in the middle of nowhere so make sure you bring water, food, etc because there will be no place to nearby to grab last minute items. Bathrooms at the visitor center and trailhead which is convenient. Some reviews say it’s not worth the drive and money but I disagree but you definitely have to be willing to explore. The views themselves are great but you really have to get down into the thick of the goblins and once you’re there it’s easy to spend lots of time exploring. Overall really cool place worth visiting

Angus Bennion

It’s a great park with lots of cool places to explore. There are hikes that require a wide range of skill level, so there’s something for almost everyone. I think the price is a bit high for the size of the park, but it is well kept. One park ranger was very friendly, and another one was not.

Pieter Saris

Fun. Fun. Fun. Whole family. Kids adults...Climb, hike, so unique. My family rated this best of our trip. Explore and have fun... Bring lots of drinks, backpacks with food and beverages as you can find yourself tired thirsty and miles from your car.

Tom Mosher

Such an other worldly landscape. So cool!

Gerrit & Annie De Bruin

Beautiful hikes and sceneries. The park rangers were very kind and helpful.

Kaitlin

Loved visiting here with the family. We have three young kids ages 2-7 and they had an amazing time. We just let our kids loose in the Valley of the Goblins and played for like two hours. The day we went it was overcast, but if it hadn't been there wouldn't be much shade. Also we saw people pushing around strollers and dragging wagons and wished we had been that smart. When you're climbing through the rocks it's pretty tough with a pack on. It was amazing and I can't wait to visit again.

Lisa Mace

Cool cool cool. Fun place to visit and walk around it. Really glad it's a state park.

al na

This place is so cool and a lot of fun for the whole family. The valley with all the goblins is impressive. There are so many of these strange rock formations and hiking around is fun. It is way out in the middle of nowhere though. You can't tell mother nature where her wonders should be or ask her to put them in convenient places. There is a real lack of facilities too. The state could do something about that. There aren't enough camping spots and it is hard to reserve one. I also think that $30 a night is a high price for a camping spot. More bathroom facilities would be nice. It costs $15 per vehicle to get into the park and on the Saturday we were there there was a shortage of sorts to park.

Trey Scott Vlogs

Such a wonderful place too go. The views are amazing, you can either look from the top where the parking lot is, or you can go through and climb the rocks and walk through them.

Ben Roberts

A very fun place. We camped just oustide the park for free on BLM land and it was really pretty. We spent a day in the park hiking around in the valley and to the Golbin's Lair. It is a smaller park with not as many defined trails, but it is really fun to walk around and see all the different goblings. Also has a nice pavilion near the parking lot to eat lunch at. Would recommend coming here at least once

Elle Sharp

A must visit. Truly unique place in the world. They’ve filmed movies here where it was supposed to be another planet. Take the ride.

Craig Saunders

Had a good time here. It is out of the way. Will have to drive to get here. Glad we made the drive. I give this place a

Kelli Hamilton

This would be a great place to visit with a group of rowdy kids. They can run and yell and climb to the heart’s content.

Lucy Smallsreed

Remote area with unbelievable landscape of hundreds of mini-hoodoos.

paula mcmahon

Love this place its also wonderful for kids to roam.

Chris Mattingly

This is easily one of my favorite parks. The same goes for my children, who love to climb in and around the amazing goblins. There is a little cave across from the parking lot that I highly recommend climbing to for an amazing view of the goblins with a background you can only get from this perspective.

Jeff Bassett

Awesome place to hike around

chris ewert

Very cool state park, worth the drive off the main highway.

Marcus McCaleb

This place is amazing. A little imagination and you're on another planet. Get there before 10 and beat the crowd.

Brian Owings

Kids loved this place. We will definitely be back.

Dan Mendelsohn

Such a fun place! Every corner has something you can explore and climb on. The caramel canyon hike is also very cool as it brings you through some narrow sections that you need to climb through. Super fun place to explore!

Jaclyn Johnson

This place is way underrated! It was so fun to be able to wander around looking at all the beautiful formations! It is so nice because it doesn’t have a set trail, so you aren’t following the same people around the park the whole time. There is a pavilion with picnic tables so you can sit in the shade and eat, and the bathrooms were well kept. When you first walk down into the park, you feel like you are on another planet! So cool!

Andrew Untch

Pretty great little park! It's fun that there isn't really a trail and you're allowed to sort of explore around at your leisure. It's not really all that big, so it's a single-day affair. The rock formations have an eerie quality to them and I bet this place is extra-spooky at night.

Michael Cooper

It's a great place to really go away from it all , and is definitely big Sky country . For those of you who have never been there before , and are SYFY Fans - I reccomend watching the Movie "Galaxy Quest" before you go . There's a cool scene in that was filming out there . It is really quite Alien looking .

Jim Lewis

We went to the nearby slot canyons and had a great day.

Joseph Young

There are many awesome little rock formations, amidst larger ones. It's a great place for hide and seek games, as long as you are confident in your abilities to find the other members of your group.

Rita Fuentes

This place is ideal for the whole family. Bring lots of water and healthy snacks. Felt like another world. Imagination ran free. Made me feel young again, if only for a moment. Thanks

Michael Martin

Classic Utah. Don't try to knock off the balanced capstones of the hoodoos but do enjoy the hundreds of different shapes and sizes.

Dax Jones

Fun to climb the rock's at camp and the trails are a bit longer than I'm use to but it was amazing after all.

Ron Guymon

This is a really fun place to explore. It reminds me of the mall playgrounds, but adult size. It was windy the day that I was there. I'm not sure if it's always that way.

Paul Ricketts

Such a great place! Amazing for astronomy too. Be sure to go to one of their astro programs.

Samantha Pentz

This would be an awesome place to bring kids. The soil is soft on your feet and the rocks are great for napping on. We played hide and seek... it's an otherworldly, friendly place to be.

John Lysaght

Truly unique. Well worth the entry fee. Bring a group and play capture the flag on the Goblin valley

Anna Bradford

Love, love, love goblin valley, camping here is a must!! if you hate the heat rent a yurt. The night sky is incredible you won't regret it.

Robert Ross

Really cool geography. It's really worth the trip if your exploring southern Utah. The campsites had water and shower toilet faculties, but no electricity. Consider day use pass and dry camping along the roads leading in. There is a great view of the San Rafael swell as you enter the park.

Joel Ragan Young

Wonderful formations and free roam hiking plus mountain biking. Some trails not well marked added to our adventure. Not much fun when muddy, but overall a great camping, hiking and biking locale. Fun for families due to above average facilities.

Susan Weiss

Very interesting. Perfect for families with younger ones to climb and explore.

Daniel Johansen

Goblin Valley is AMAZING! That said, I would strongly recommend that you avoid visiting in the summer, as it can be brutally hot. Spring and Fall is the best time to explore Goblin Vallet. We brought our 4 and 2yr old boys and they loved running around and climbing on the goblins. Super fun time!

Daniel Dearden

This is a fantastic place! Its a ton of fun for kids and adults. You can wander up through little side canyons within the park which is fun. The campground is nice and has decent space between sites. There's also BLM land nearby to camp on for free but there are no facilities. Bell and Little Woldhorse canyons are not in the park but are close by; they are definitely worth doing. Little wild horse canyon is a slot canyon for a while. Overall, it's worth it to go to this park!

alvin wong

Love all the incredible rock formations and hikes. Great place for kids to climb around

Clint Johnson

Who needs space travel when all you have to do is go down to Central Utah and enjoy a completely alien landscape... If it's past March make sure you take plenty of water and sunscreen because you can get cooked really fast... The parking area is ample,, and there are some covered picnic observation areas,, but facilities are BASIC... This is a remote location made to preserve the natural environment.. Make sure to enjoy what the small towns surrounding the area have to offer as well as part of your trip like the incredible Dinosaur/ Native Culture museum in Price...I promise,,, you will never forget your stop here..

Ruthie R

Beautiful, and would be a TON of fun to run around. However, when I visited, it was late November, so it was cold. Not only was it cold, however, but it was blowing something fierce. As a consequence, there was a lot of sand in the eyes and everywhere else. I recommend coming when it's warmer and less windy so you can really enjoy this wonderful and fun landscape.

Eric DeGroot

Goblins Lair was a great experience. The hike has a couple of spots that are tough, but I was still able to get my four year old through it.

Mark Johnson

Great state park full of hoodos which look like the were made by aliens

Riley K

Most underrated park in Utah. So many unique formations and exciting places to explore. Well worth the stop.

Lawrence Durfey

This is a great place for hiking! I spent all day here just looking at all the different formations or as they call them here "goblins" make sure you bring lots of water though during the summer it gets very hot and dry. There is so much to look at here it is the perfect place for a family day trip

Dustin Ramsey

Cool place to visit. A lot of different rock formations.

Eric Mealus

Loved our time at Goblin Valley. It was a great stop off between Arches and Bryce parks. These structures are so fun... You just want to make names for each and every one. Just wish people didn't climb on them.

Bonnie McLaughlin

It a really fun place to wonder through, especially with older children.

Walter Rothe

Cool Utah State Park! We enjoyed our visit during wintertime. A bit remote but certainly worth the time. Will return in fall and stay on the park-internal campground.

denny gabrlik

Worth visiting. Place is different. You can walk all around. Not very difficult. Can get hot so come early.

Mike Johnson

We love running through the hudos and hiking up the ridges. Bring lots of water and sunscreen. Bring a picnic to.

Roman Huerta

Always always amazing! Like a play ground for adults, but still kid friendly of course!

Kenyon Scheid

This place is crowded. Also it gets very hot. Don't forget to bring water with you. Climbing on the rocks is fun for all ages but since there is basically no enforcement you can climb whatever you want. Whether that leads to you getting injured or not. I recommend going really early or in the fall and winter when there is less people.

Kris Belveal

This is a must/don't miss park if you are doing the Utah park loop. Some of the most interesting and unique geological structures in such a small area.

komoriblues asdfgda

Love Goblin Valley and fortunately people still respect the land for the most part. Goblin Valley is one of the easiest and most accessible retreats to unique desert rock available. It's great if you are looking for a place to relax, nothing too physically demanding at all. It's hot here though! More of a pit-stop than anything.

Richard Valentine

If you take the time to hike into some of the off shoot small canyons the views are even more spectacular.

Jesse Splan

Unbelievable scenery and slot canyons. There are many places to visit in the area including Bell Canyon and Little Wild Horse Canyon. Many camp site options as a lot of the area is Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and offers free camping. Add this to your list of must see places! Limited cell service.

Bill H

Great place for the whole family. Great to play Hide and Seek

Seungjun Baek

It was good experience to be here. Even though the weather was a little bit cold, there was an unusual atmosphere this place has. Also, this place did not have a fixed route, so I could go freely. It was more fun. It is a good place to visit while visiting Capitol Reef National Park.

Wes McCall

Great place for kids to enjoy the outdoors & play. Cool photography of hoodoos in the Entrada formation. Clean & well maintained facilities. Friendly staff. Worth the drive.

Patricia Kline

Absolutely unbelievable! Few visitors. I was quite surprised. You just want to keep taking pictures! Don't miss this one! It is a state park so you can't use your National Parks pass.

Chris Saunders

Very cool place. First time I have been here. I know of no other place on earth like this. We took the scouts here at night and played capture the flag. It was pitch dark (no moon), but we had glow sticks. Everyone fell, tripped over things, or fell off edges multiple times, but they all wanted to keep playing!

Christopher Elsberry

This is such a unique place on Earth. The eroded sandstone through wind and rain formed these 'goblin' pillars. The best part about this park is you are free to roam amongst the goblins in the 3 different valleys. You only see the first valley from the parking lot, however if you have more time you should venture further in and see some of the less visited pillars. Great place for kids as they can climb around enjoy it. It's well worth the detour off the highway as it's rather remote.

David M. Williams

Great little side trip if you have an hour to kill. Crazy rock formations you can walk amongst.

Lauren Ellison

Stopped here on our way from Moab to Capital Reef. It's definitely worth checking out if you are in the area. We only did the Valley of Goblins but we enjoyed climbing up and around the rock formations!

Dirk G Wilson

An amazing place. Fun to walk between the formations. Hot.

lisa darmons

The coolest part of our trip so far , been to Arches, Canyonlands , and Dead Horse & this has been the best yet !!! Great little campground and the hike to Goblins lair was way cool-the trail is not too well marked but I was able to find the fantastic cave!!!!

Allen

Interesting place, lots of free blm camping around.

jordon poulson

This place is such an amazing national Park! If you're in this neck of the woods, you'd be crazy to drive past. It's worth every second of the drive. And the night sky here is the prettiest! Must see!

Tobie Spears

Fun place to visit for a quick stop. Pretty cool to walk around. We visited Arches yesterday and this is much, much smaller.

Stanford Harrison

We had a scout campout here. I must say, Goblin Valley is so cool. Next time I'll remember to wear sunglasses.

Nathan Allan

One of my favorite places because it offers endless stunning sights, but also because it provides a playground like environment for exploring them.

Catherine Van Duser

Unique, desert beauty. Plenty of hiking trails. Always a new experience.

Keith Miura

Super cool, especially with kids. Walk down to the "goblins" from the right side of the parking lot, by the covered picnic area. Clean restrooms that don't stink in the parking lot and a real restroom at the Visitors Center. The Visitors Center has small exhibits and a limited selection of snacky type stuff and cold soda/water. Recommended!

Robert Lusk

Such a cool place. The park itself is pretty small and can be seen in a day buy there is a lot to do in the surrounding area.

Glenn Greiner

Walking among the hundreds of goblins was a unique experience. There is no drinking water available at the park, so bring plenty of water to the park. Also, there are no places to get food or gas within 20 miles of the park.

Jeremy Fountain

Very cool state park with hundreds if not thousands of hoodoos to wander through. No real "trail" in the valley, just a maze of formations and paths. So much fun to explore with kids.

Emma N

Just plain SPECTACULAR!! Really glad we took the time to drive down, it was such a foreign landscape in every way. The Park was well organized &, although there were quite a few people there, it didn't feel overly crowded. Once you are down among the goblins, the crowd thins out quite a bit if you just walk away from the pavilion. We spent the whole day there and left feeling like we'd barely scratched the surface. Can't wait to go back many more times. Bring sunblock & plenty of water.

Elizabeth Clark

Very chill park, with easy hikes. The hoodoos are awesome

Matt Flanders

Some of my most favorite memories as a little child. Our favorite hike in the area is a little wild horse canyon.

Ashton gjerde

Lots of fun for all where you actually are allowed to climb the Hoodoos. Fascinating to fell and touch the formation and get a real close up. Absolutely worth seeing

Steve Rutherford

Fun small park, great for kids who can climb on the formations. Cool and unique.

Delroy Brinkerhoff

It's a small park, but the scenery is awesome and the facilities are well maintained.

Gavin McClellan

Goblin valley is a huge playground, you can climb on everything, just make sure you are aware of wants on the other side, there can be big drops

Brett Carleton

Beautiful playground for kids. There are great places for them to climb including some small caves. Don't just stay up front, work your way to the back for a fun experience.

Greg Roth

This review is for the mountain bike trails that are located within Goblin Valley. If you’re a mountain biker and heading to Goblin Valley, I highly recommend taking your bike and going for a ride! The trails are super smooth, not very technical and are signed extremely well. After passing through the park entrance go straight up the gravel road (at the T in the road) to the trail. And be sure and stop to see the Goblins before you head home!

gary cameron

Really awesome structures, almost magical

Ky Burton

A remarkably unique experience. The land is open, free to climb, and otherworldly. As I leapt from goblin to sturdy goblin, I couldn't help but feel that I was on another planet. With gorgeous views of distant mountains like a cherry on top, Goblin Valley is an unmissable experience of nature at its wildest.

Cameron Moon

Goblin Valley is awesome! Go visit and enjoy! Their are plenty of places to camp, you dont need to reserve a campground, especially if you have an RV or Trailer. But tents are good to. Little wild horse trail is a good hike and kid friendly. If you have young kids just go a couple miles then turn around. It's mostly shaded because it's a slot canyon see my pictures.

Viji Rao

Easy trail for children. The views are spectacular.

Alexander Toth

Fun stop on our way from capitol reef to canyonlands national park, only requires 45 minutes or so to explore.

Paul Collins

A great place to wandering type hiking.

Hailey Frame

Such a fun place! It was my first time going and I had so much fun!

Lonny Ward

Wonderful place to hike, look at and play games. Great for families, youth groups and nature lovers.

Pao Xiong

Beautiful. A must visit

Scott Younggren

Go in the early morning or in the late afternoon at Sunset and take your camera at this spooky spooky place

jennifer flores

This place is crazy beautiful, you'll be surprised!!! Perfect place to see the milky way!!!

paul reeves

Seclusion mixed with dark sky star viewing topped of by a shower in a desert.

Devin Black

Really awesome place. The rangers are really nice and friendly. The hikes and the Valley Of Goblins are incredible breathtaking views. It does require lots of walking so if you aren't up to that its not the place for you. You can climb all over the Goblins which is really fun and there are plenty of places for small children to adults to enjoy and explore.

Terry Gilmore

This state park was fantastic and worth the $15. It was very hands on as we all got to climb on the "Goblin" rock formations.

IzulaDublin

Place like somewhere in space on the other planet ! Rocks looks like mushrooms or aliens :D Really good place to visit and for photographers :D

Kalya Cotkin

Well worth the entrance fee. Lots of free BLM land primative camping close by.

Hali Camper

A super cool little park! Dog friendly hikes abound. Drinking water and showers made this a lovely camping stop despite the cold, early spring nights.

Corby B.

What a Hidden Gem. Love the campsites. I love how dark it is at night. Nice touch for the park staff to bring out their telescopes to show us the Stars. Love walking through all the hoodoos. Kids had a blast and running around and having fun. Remember to take your blue lights and look for scorpions at night. We had the whole camp site looking for scorpions with us. The frisbee golf course is a nice touch also. Thanks for letting us rent the frisbees to play.

Abigail Debusk

Both a handful of pictures and name enticed me to take an hour out to visit while going to California, and it was totally worth it. Surprisingly busy the day I went, but it did not detract from the experience. I'm amazed that I had the freedom to wander anywhere around these unique geological features. The goblins were very cool to look at, and the whole landscape felt like I was in a massive playground. I hope few enough people visit, or can continue to respect the area. that this free roaming will still be possible.

Maxine Maxwell

I love going here with my family. The park is so beautiful!

Kirk Blake

A great place to explore. It is worth the travel to get here. You can spend a good amount of time or a short amount of time depending on your schedule. Take adequate water for your length of time and the time of year that you visit. Spring and fall are great options. Summer is great but can get extremely hot. Location has a campground and a visitors center. There are some trails that you can follow to hike. There is also a mountain bike trail. Parking can be limited but even on a holiday we were able to find parking. Pavilion was a nice area to rest and have lunch before we began wandering around. Kids enjoyed running around and climbing. So did the adults. Lots to explore for all ages.

Loriann Lorik

So uniquely cool! Fun for all ages to walk and explore!

Donovan Allphin

As usual, Goblin Valley State Park was a wonderful place to visit this spring. Although it was Easter weekend and there were a ton of visitors, we were still able to find quiet places and enjoy the beauty. Tag or hide and seek in the Hoodoos is one of the funnest things a person can experience. The moon was full, which was also spectacular! The staff was friendly as usual. The only thing I would like to request is that people be even more considerate of others on busy weekends.

Jonathan Richards

Awesome park. This place is like a 100% natural playground. Plan to spend some time and get lost—and have a blast doing it. There’s a nice picnic area and some restrooms at the parking lot as you come in, but there’s nothing out among the goblins (hoodoos-the crazy rock formations). Do everyone a favor and use the facilities before you go out there. I’ve seen people “take care of business” in the park because they chose not to go before setting out. Don’t do that. It’s gross and my kids play out there. Despite witnessing such things, I’d still highly recommend this park. It’s so much fun for all ages—especially for the kids who are so used to being told “don’t touch that” and “get down from there; it’s not a climbing frame.” Here, they can climb all the way, and they almost always pass out in the car on the way home, so we don’t have to deal with “are we there yet.”

lisa smith

Amazing! I've Spent half my life wanting to visit Goblin Valley and finally made it! I would highly recommend going in the early morning hours, spring or late fall. It gets really hot and is only enjoyable in cool weather. It is a curious sight to behold and mind boggling. I've heard of massive hide and seek games to be enjoyed amongst the "goblins." I would love to redo my visit and do exactly that. It was a fantastic experience and fun even in the sun! However, we couldn't stay as long as we would have liked to due to the heat. Make sure you take plenty of water and Tylenol if you go in the baking sun!

Jason Gibbons

An amazing place to wander. The kids love to explore and climb all over the hoodoos. We try to come here yearly. It is easy to spend another full day just down the road at Little Wild Horse canyon if you can book a spot or find some BLM land nearby.

Dan Greiner

Stunning Rock formations at a low key state park. Would definitely suggest visiting for an hour or two.

Josh Thompson

A near unmatched "camping" experience. Even in August, the heat is bearable and worth it even for the pleasure of spending the night in goblin valley's Yurt 1. Tucked just into the silicate formations off the end of the park road, this lodging was as idyllic as it looked years ago when I found a picture of it.

Jeremy U

Love this place. We started our camping here this year and very beautiful. I love that the areas are clean and the clean restrooms are available to public. We enjoyed our visit and hikes in the goblin area.

Stephen Ashton

This place is otherworldly! It is a must see destination in Utah. I think that if this park were in any other state, it would likely be a national park. I like that it’s still the state park, because there’s a little bit more flexibility for climbing on the hoodoos and enjoying going under them and through them and experiencing the park in a more intimate manner. It’s a wonderful place to take children. It’s like a giant playground. Our young son said, “This place is better than Disneyland!” My wife and looked at each other and said, “That was the best $10 we’ve ever spent.” You definitely need to check this place out if you haven’t been there already. We recommend going during the off-seasons, either in fall or spring, so that it’s not too hot. There is no shade cover during the summer, and it gets very hot there. Parking can also be hard to come by during the summer and holidays.

ryan salmon

RFun place with toilets that flush and some running water! Came memorial weekend, was busy, little parking, but the park is so huge that you can find quiet places. Great place for kids to play for hours.

Jan Pouza

Really nice peace of nature. Not overcrowded.

Matthew Knudson

So AMAZING we got married here!

Don McCarty

Very unique, amazing. Spent way more time there than anticipated. Tried to stay over night but the camp sites were all reserved. Will go back again.

Carolyn Dearden

This is one of my favorite places to go camping in Utah. It's incredibly fun to go exploring in the Goblins. If you have a larger group games like capture the flag can be really fun. The campground is nice and the sites aren't super close to each other. It fills up pretty fast, so you should make a reservation beforehand. The bathroom at the campground is good, but there isn't a bathroom near the Goblins. The campground is a short drive from the Goblins. There are also other hikes close to the park that are really fun, like Bell and Little Wild Horse Canyons. I would recommend staying at least 2 days if you want to do extra hikes. It's very remote and very dry, so come prepared

Heather Moser

Had a lot of fun day and night playing in the goblins. Night games and hiking around all the formations and inside caves was a blast. Some areas are more dangerous than others and need to be taken seriously in regards to your abilities, but there can be fun for all ages.

steven jensen

Great place to climb around for a few hours!! Make sure to take some water!

Kevin

Great park. We came to the area to camp so we could come here, was totally worth it. Very unique and fun place to visit. It's out of the way which is nice. It gets you out and away from the largely populated areas. Park rangers are extremely friendly, visitor center staff are nice enough but not very personable or helpful (or knowledgeable for that matter) beyond taking your entrance fee. Get there early though, park fills up fast and parking can be an issue. Very cool place, definitely recommend.

What's so great about Goblin Valley is you get to walk down in it. Your even allowed to climb all over as long as your careful to not be disrespectful and knock over rock formations. This is def a must see! There are picnic tables at the top where you can look over the valley and enjoy a meal in the shade. There are real restrooms in the parking lot with about 2 stalls in each.

It's like amazing! All those goblins...

The "goblins"are super; the Stars of the park! Likely would have given this a five but two things list that fifth star: slow long car line to pay to enter park and poor description of trails. When we drive up, there were four cars in front of us and it took a long time to finally pay. We have been to several large national parks during the week and never had a wait, and those parks car volume was much greater. We took a trail called "Goblins Lair" - a great disappointment. Skip the trails and just visit all the goblins you see upon arrival in your car. Nice detour from the busy national parks!

A gem of southern Utah. Make sure to visit Goblin's Lair and do the rappel if you can, it's amazing! Especially the approach, lovely canyon with steep walls.

No place on earth like it. Unforgettable landscape.

Wonderful place. Goblin Valley is a fantastic and gorgeous place for family adventures. The rangers were extremely helpful, giving us advice on the state park, the surrounding area, and lending us a compressor for a slow leaking car tire. Goblin valley doesn't provide as extreme adventures as the other areas nearby but it is truly a one of a kind landscape. The camping area has lots of spots for water and even has hot showers for campers. The frisbee golf course around the campground provides some great views and a pleasant stroll.

Awesome views and it was fun to spend some time down in the valley with the "goblins". I did have a bit of a problem with the GPS finding the proper route, if you are driving EAST on 24 and it tells you to turn on a Jeep road, keep going another 6 miles to the proper turnoff. Same for you if travelling WEST on 24 and see a "State Park" sign about 6 miles early, go ahead and use this one. Strange it happened, I did update my maps prior to the trip!

A nice place, but out of the way enough that it takes a while to get their via car. As of 07/11/19, there's a construction delay that'll add about 15 minutes to any trip. The goblins are numerous and beautiful, and there is several trails. All trails are without shade, so hike in the morning or late evening.

Hoodads are amazing and kids love running through the mazes of the formations. Go early in the day in the summer because it can get really hot!

Amanda Stevens

Truly unique! We love climbing around the hoodoos in the amphitheatre!

Amazing place to visit and camp. I highly recommend tent site 12 if you can get it. Also, you don't need a tent, just sleep under the stars - they are incredible here! There's basically no bug or animal stupid enough to live out here, so that's nice. Be prepared for some Gusty winds right after sunset, that's what makes the goblins after all... but it calms down as soon as the temperature drops 300 degrees. And don't confuse your lotion for sunscreen, trust me - you will regret that mistake for days! The Goblin Lair hike is totally worth it. Just start at the "left" (east) end of the lookout parking lot, follow the trail which takes you around to the back side of the whole goblin valley. Once you get to the sand dunes you're almost there. Look for the little trail that goes straight up the side of the cliff... Yep, go up there, it's not as bad as it looks. The cave is worth the hike! Good luck!

So amazing!!! I love UTAH and all the scenery and natural creations. We had so much fun climbing, hiking and exploring. My teenage boys loved it.

Always a great day at Goblin Valley! We had family from out of town and they were amazed at the scenery and environment. It was memorial day weekend, so it was a bit crowded, but people were nice enough. There were a lot of dogs that needed to be better controlled. I hope they get banned before too long. I'm a dog lover, but in large gathering spots, with less responsible adults, can be problematic.

Chris Ososki

Very nice, would have horizon to horizon views of the night sky
