REVIEWS OF Glen Canyon National Recreation Area IN Utah

Keith Whittaker

Great place spoiled by groups of 4 wheel drive enthusiasts seeing who has the loudest engine in the deep soft sand

ahxockin87

Absolutely beautiful, the water is crystal clear and perfect for swimming or kayaking. Just wish other campers would adhere to the quiet time rules (10pm to 6am) and not drive on the sand like crazy people and blow sand in your eyes. Not the campground's fault but very annoying. Make sure to bring a shovel and know what your car can handle when driving in the sand. So many got stuck and had to be hauled out. Sedans, campers, even a few trucks.

W Smith

Amazing rangers, cool scenery. The one downside is that the town of Page, AZ charges a fee to visit the park's horseshoe bend vista, which is pretty unethical. Municipalities shouldn't limit access to public land.

Deborah Gamble

This is our favorite place to vacation with family. There are seemingly unlimited areas to explore.

elliejobama

It's the most beautiful place in all of Utah. The landscape is indescrubable and unique to southern Utah. The sunsets on this lake are like no other, and you can see the stars. Beautiful beautiful

Brody Chipman

Lake Powell is one of the most amazing places I have ever been. A lake in the red canyons is phenomenal!

Jeremy Smith

Very neat place to visit, lots to learn. Also had a telescope looking at the sun, very informative.

Mike Balzotti

Lots of amenities available. Stayed with friends on a houseboat but looks like a lodge and camping are also available great for families.

Bro La

Magical, other-worldly destination! Great views, & great for water sports. Rent a houseboat to experience what Lake Powell is all about!

Chad Pehrson

Incredible scenery. Spent a week there canoeing the lake and loved it.

Thoors World

Navajo bridge.. Is always a nice stop on the way from page to the north rim grand canyon.. You should also take look to the native American stands there they have some nice stuff..

Michele Boisgilbody

This is a natural wonder that everyone should see. It is awe- inspiring

Dillon McGuire

One of the best and most beautiful places I've ever seen in my life. A fun place to visit with a lot to offer. Worth going to on a regular basis.

Tina Henshaw

I say Glen Canyon is a BETTER experience than the Grand Canyon. Why? Scale. Now wait, before you stop reading, please hear me out. Because the Grand Canyon is so large, I lost perspective and my mind just couldn't perceive and fully appreciate it... BECAUSE of it's size. Now Glen Canyon? Though it was more narrow, it was more impressive to me. I experienced Glen Canyon via a calm Colorado River boat trip. It's the difference between seeing Bono (U2) sing at a concert and watching him perform in a club. It was personal. Intimate. Moving. Meaningful. I'm not suggesting you skip the Grand Canyon. I'm just telling you NOT to dismiss Glen Canyon. And PLEASE don't miss the Page Rim Trail while you're in town!

Christina Gatti

I love bringing my family here. Lot to see. We love all the interactive displays. This is a great place for homeschoolers or anyone wanting to learn about dams and the impact they have. There are 3 short videos all about the dam and the glen canyon area. There is a gift shop and they also offer tours of the dam.

Whitney Hill

Beautiful thing to see!! Truly stunning. Worth the stop.

Trevor Suelzle

One of the most unique locations in the country! Best if you have a boat as there are so many coves and canyons to explore. A houseboat makes a visit here even better. Lots of sandy beaches and so much water that you can play for days (or weeks). At least 3 major marinas also help withnacces because this place covers a lot of acreage! Certainly a jewel in the National Park system.

Krystina Jarema

Great place for both swimming and kayaking. Water is clean and the rocks are beautiful.

Chrisoulla Rakowski

Breathtaking. Really good time for reflection, watching the sunrise, and is just all around beautiful. They built a railing over the main ledge, but there's plenty of other areas that don't have a railing. These photos were taken before dawn around 6am and there was only a small handful of people there. If you go later, you'll have to fight the crowds and tour groups. The trail head is 3/4 of a mile hike through same before it turns into the rocky landscape. Use extreme caution and don't stand near the edge. It's easy to trip and that's how people fall off and die. The winds were pretty strong when I was there and was worried about walking even when I wasn't on the edge. If you do want an edge photo, use common sense and keep your center of gravity low to the ground. You can't trip and fall off the ledge if you're crawling along the ground.

LLynn Brown

Thank you Gary, "explain the sun". Lots of pictures, nice video. Yes, will return

sunday skinner

It's okay place if you got to make a quick restroom break

Michael Thanh

This is a nice place for getting closer to natures. It will take more than a day to really know the place. I love it.

Judie Pokakaa

I enjoyed the area. It was to hot to go on a tour of the dam. However there is a great view of the dam from the visitor's center.

Mike Young

As good as the grand canyon and very easy to get up close. Make the time for a hike down into the canyon. Amazing

Braden Chrestensen

Spectacular place absolutely beautiful it dose get quite busy and the camp spots are small but way worth it. Maybe a fifteen walk from camp area to the water has parking right by the start of the beach area. Restrooms are well kept but do not have showers in all the bathrooms but all in all absolutely worth it gorgeous scenery and vast views and lots of wildlife

CUIZHEN SUN

Glen canyon also call lake Powell, there is glen canyon dam . beautiful view!

Sandra Santa Maria

A great place to see the Glen Canyon dam and the Rainbow Bridge. You can also see Lake Powell.

Monf Ang

very nice but a lot of people goes out of the rail and take so much risk for a selfie??tasktask

Jen Brandt

Wahweap was a nice recreation area with gorgeous views! Although the 3/4 mile walk down to the water was long, we were determined to enjoy Lake Powell. The recreation staff at the store were extremely helpful and the bathrooms were clean. Showers are able for $$.

John Shoemaker

Our family loves coming here every year. With the snow and rain this year, the water is higher than last year. The beauty is all around. Even with the number of people who like it here, you can still find places to play. The camping here is fun. More shade trees would be nice of course. Page has lots of places to eat and stay as well.

Sanket Bacchuwar

I really loved the experience to stay here and just immerse in the magnanimity of the structure that humans have created. It's an engineering marvel, just outstanding. It is so deep and wide, and still so cool. We stopped the car to walk over the bridge that they have built for the cars to pass from Utah to Arizona, and the experience was just amazing. Must visit spot if going to Page.

Ellen Leeds

Best place on Earth! Beautiful! You can sit in your RV all day, with windows uncovered. and still feel so blessed by all of the beauty. Panoramic view and it is different in each direction. Nothing like it!

Moniqe Quinonez

Beautiful. Tour was very informative. Does take about 3 hours not including the bus ride back. Best to go early in the morning. More wildlife.

Drew McCarty

Lake Powell is the best. Houseboat for a week and you'll want to keep coming back for more.

Mark Phillips

Love lake Powell! Hate Aramark's lack of service, and 400% mark up. With the amount of money that runs through this place, the customer service and services should be better. Went to 3 different places in Bullfrog, across the bay to Halls, no ice.

Forrest Cowie

Very clean campground. Large spaces, nice wood fire pit and a standing BBQ grill. Convenient store expensive

Brian Duda

Great boating! Beach camping! Lot of sandy areas to beach your boat.

Exotic Moves

Great rates for lake side accommodations. Take the canyon cruise, great chance for unforgettable photos.

Samantha Hobbs

Float tour via Wilderness Adventures was awesome!! Seeing the dam and Horseshoe Bend from on the Colorado River is unforgettable. We went in mid Sept and did a 6:30am tour. It was chilly most of the day, so wear layers if you go. Was amazed to find out you can camp IN the canyon (will plan to come back and do that!). Much to learn and see on this tour...make sure to ask for Lance, he was a good guide.

Jensen Vasic

I love Lake Powell! Such a fun place to visit! During the summer the water gets really warm, and swimming is great! Not to mention the place is beautiful, and HUGE! There's so much to explore and look at... All while having fun jet skiing, wake surfing, tubing, and more on the lake! I've been here every year since I was a child and will probably keep going every year for the rest of my life! 5/5!!

deepa singh

It’s one of the must visit place when you are visiting antelope canyon, this place is near to the border of Arizona and Utah. Close to Page, Arizona. You can have a house boat here, ride your own boat or rent a boat. Very beautiful place visit in September so you will not experience the harsh sun rays. Nice restaurant inside. $35 entry fee per vehicle.

Max Minardi

Cool spot for a quick stop & some pictures. Didn’t see much hiking available & cars are passing constantly. We grabbed some sandwiches from town & ate them to take a quick break from driving.

Madhu Balajee

Definitely stopping by this place and taking the breath taking view is completely amazed. And also the more clear view can be seen near Denny’s spot. And the people who works inside are really helpful and they give you necessary information. And the information displayed about canyon was so knowledgeable each and every minute spending here its worth.

Victor B.

Love the clear water, you can see the bottom at 10' deep at Lake Powell, Antelope Canyon. Very unique place, a must place to visit!!!

Doug Allen

The tour at the Dam is Valuable and Interesting. Great point of beginning for all the area has to offer like Slot Canyons, Horseshoe Bend or Lee's Ferry. Great hiking & biking and of course Water Sports !

Archimedes Octaveus

Beautiful, clean, timeless, breathtaking views. The trails are well marked. The perfect place for photographers, endless beauty. Water access easy, people are friendly, and the culture of the area us well established and intriguing. The past meets the future with stories to tell I'm sure

Michelle Martinez

Amazing, the most beautiful lake I've ever been on.

Jaidyn Fraser

Hands down the best summer time vacation ever!

Kris W

The scenery is spectacular. In the summer, the water is warm. So fun!

Rachel Luke

Such a beautiful hiking spot and great for families. Our family enjoys going every year

Randall Moring

Pretty awesome spot. Like all of the region you really need 4x4 to get to the best places. A lot of Glen Canyon is accessible to AWD and 2 wheel drive vehicles though. Lots of impressive salt flats, contrasting colors, and unique geology. I would definitely recommend this spot for the more casual vacationers. But lots of opportunities for the explorer type with the right vehicle.

David H

Wow what an awesome place! Lived in az most of my life and finally made it up there. Antelope canyon was soooooo cool. The Colorado river, and the gateway to lake Powell! Take your camera and binoculars

Monica brownlee

Very Hot the end of October. If you come in an RV parking is way up a couple of steep hills. You then must walk down to be able to go into the Hoover dam. If you take a guided bus tour , I noticed they park pretty close. There was no way we could do all that walking, much less in over 100 deg temperature!

Annemarie Vaughn

We camped at Lone Rock Beach Campground. It is beautiful. You can camp right at the water's edge. I recommend you go here with at least one four wheel drive vehicles, which could pull you other out if you get stuck. The sand is very soft and powdery. Nice on bare feet. Great for swimming, boating, jet skiing, kayaking. Because the sand is soft and powdery, when the wind blows hard, it can create sandstorms which usually only last a short time, but make sure all you stuff is tied down. It is very hot here in the summer, (We were here early September) but you have the beautiful lake to cool off in. The water is cool enough to be refreshing, but not too cold either. It was just right. Love this place. It is so beautiful.

Michael Shaw

Glen Canyon is so cool. There is something for everyone in this rec area.

BRENDA BUSSELL

Limited menu for lunch. Burgers and fries. Fries were really good

Moriah K

Be sure to take the raft rides! It was suitable for all ages, as I went with my grandparents in their late 70's. Stunning views, great family friendly environment.

_JoJo_

Amazing view over the Dam. Visit the Visitor Center to learn more about the region and the dam.

emily malin

So worth it! Such a beautiful spot, absolutely gorgeous park and place to watch the sunset. We rented a boat and took it out. The water is a bit choppy for a small boat, but other than that it was fantastic!

Mike Skow

Great lake and all you could ask for in terms of camping and time on the lake. There are also several views from various points along the road. At the main gate it can be expensive just to drive and look around, but they do accept the national parks annual pass

Chandresh Singh

nice place for the boat rode, you can get the boat from here to horseshoe bend and entire tour of glen canyon through boat and lake powel

Cindy Sorensen

We've been heading to Lake Powell for vacations, seems like forever! Great place to have fun, get hot and sandy, and play on the water to make good family memories that last!

Sahil Sharma

View is stunning depending on time of the day and sunlight. They have visitors centre and restrooms for people travelling further. I liked reading their history about have they made this place.

Cat Bird

Crowded!! And full of people taking selfies at ledges, as if you couldn't fake being too close to the edge. Didn't want to stay to have to tell the story of their plunge.

Stephanie Lo

Interesting and beautiful landscape. Crosby canyon to warm creek bay is a surreal experience that brings you to the refreshing waters of lake powell. Bring your suncreen and water. No services and the climate can be harsh. Parts of this trail is for 4x4 vehicle only or hiking.

Dan Wilding

Lake Powell has so much to offer in terms of recreation, but the scenery steals the show! You'll find wonderful warm, deep blue water, towering red rock cliffs, canyons to explore, streams, waterfalls, beautiful secluded sandy beaches, sunny blue skies in the day and a billion star sky at night, natural arches, and so much more. You can certainly use your own equipment (boat), but rental locations abound and a day or a week rental is so much less than owning your own... Lake Powell needs to be on everyone's bucket list.

Rick Serena

Great place to camp and launch your boat. Marina hotel is expensive but not everyone likes to be in nature. Must have a boat to actually fish though.

Michael Goodwin

Just an amazing breath taking view of the Dam and Canyon. Also there are a few interactive attractions for the family and a couple of short little movies in the movie room, gift shop was pretty nice too, I highly recommend going to this place with the family.

Yanis Fernandes

Out of this world clear water with a green tint. Get on the water for a day or half day either w jet ski, boat or pontoon boat at least once. Keep vest on and just jump in after stopping to dock. Definitely pull a tube for the kids. The beach is mostly appealing to Europeans (speedos), as it has mud and stone you have to be careful or wear water shoes.

Venus Ballard

Breath taking beauty. Take a house boat and slow down for a week on Lake Powell. Bring along a personal water craft ( Seadoo/Jet Ski) and wind through the narrow channels to stunning glens and painted canyons. The beauty is inexhaustible. Small coves and islands make for great fishing, snorkeling, and paddle boarding. The vast shoreline means the plenty of beaches for a private family camping spot or room enough for dozens of party houseboats. Come well stocked on food, water, and sunscreen, once you're here, you won't want to leave.

Cassidy Acuff Williams

We took the boat trip. It was informative and the kids could get out and play around in the water and on the beach. The end spot had a great hike, tons of info and a great place to use the facilities. Easy to navigate for parking. Beautiful views of horseshoe bay!

Ann Avirt

My family and I had a great time here. The water was fun to be in. The whole scenery was beautiful.

Jessica Adams-Rosa

Gorgeous! Lone Rock waterfront great place to relax. Plenty of space to drive right up to the waterfront. Dam was spectacular.

alice w

Very helpful rangers who will give you all sorts of ideas and precautions on hiking trails. Come by before you set out on your adventures. Also lots of information on how Dams work. Great views of the dam itself as well.

Jay Leon

One of our favorite places to visit! Camping is worth your time if you enjoy outdoors, they offer great facilities. This place is magical at sunrises!

patrice sienko

Cool dam..make sure you go on the tour.

CR S

Seriously, one of the most amazing natural features in the United States of America. An ancient River that carves its way through a desert is remarkable to look at. Worth the hike and price, come see the natural wonders on this vast continent.

Robert Matthews

Looked really nice from my flight (Alaska Air Flight 6) at 37000. I even matched with two people on Tinder from this recreation area!

Jim Byers

Very deep and large dam. The area around it is beautiful!

Valerie Brandt

We just made a fairly quick stop at the visitors center at the dam. Informative and educational. Good displays and demos. Worth the time to stop. Clean restrooms.

Amanda Grav

We love coming to Lake Powell every year. This is a beautiful place to be. It's a perfect spot to refuel for the rest of the year. The cool, clear water, paired with the dry summer heat makes this my favorite place on Earth. The are amazing canyons to go boating through, some you can even hike. The are great swimming beaches and if you can, get on a houseboat and enjoy some time further up the lake. Amazing.

Max Boesch-Powers

A hidden gem! It is full of beautiful canyons and pristine water. We rented a speedboat, water skis, and a tube. It was a once in a lifetime experience, and I highly recommend it!

Larry Hamby

Take the raft trip down the Colorado River. Experience three hours of seenic beauty.

schoot70

Great place. Went to the shooting range to Gunfighter canyon. Had a great time there. Great instructer named CJ.

david innes

Amazing scenery, Overwhelming vistas... You see an escarpment etc and think, wow that's big, and think it is maybe 5 miles long Then you drive towards or along it... And its 30 miles or more, and far further away. One needs to see it to appreciate it, gobsmacking, as we say

Ashlee Harlow

We spent one night at a free campsite here and woke up in the morning to this amazing place. So much to explore you could never actually do all of it. We found a rock lined path that looked like it would be a short little walk but it is huge! Winding around lots of different rock structures and taking you on a nice tour. Such a pleasant surprise and one of our favorite parts of our stay in Page.

Steve E

The Mecca. The greatest boating, fishing, floating, waterskiing, drinking, laughing, swimming, exploring spot in the country. Looks like another planet in some places...so good!

Karen Saunders

Great place to pull over and enjoy the views. Lake Powell is just a very beautiful area. The water did seem a bit low for sure. Scenery and landscape is spectacular, with the marina down below in the distance.

Michelle Niederhauser

Warm water, warm weather, beautiful red and white cliffs. It is busy at the south end of Lake Powell because it is so awesome. If you go, be respectful of others. Watch for the wake-free zones.

Rosa Yoda Chan

Superb and worth the trip. Amazing scenery ans one should drive up and down the scenic view street to get som great views. The bridge over the dam has walking lanes and cut outs in the fence for taking pictures.

Janelle Kinikini

One of my favorite places in the whole world. Beautiful desert landscape. Lake is warm and clean.

K Keyworth

Good location for offroad trail access. Windy on the upper level but beautiful sunset.

Rogier Jonker

Nice boat-tour through narrow parts of the canyon (high walls on both side of the boat). The info about the Glen canyon through the sound-system wasn't really loud. Hard to hear. Water/thee/lemonade freely available on board; Only the boat tour itself is far from free...

William Crum

It's a place that I had never been to and got a chance to spend a few days there. Saw Lake Powell and some amazing boats at the marina!

Dee Sabellico

Breathtaking, awesome, staff very efficient, hard working, and pleasant. Houseboat...fabulous! Every year it's the best week ever.

Dave Simonson

Simply beautiful. Stunning views. Just wonderful scenery! Also--some of the nicest public restrooms I've ever seen. Very nicely maintained.

adriane sāra price

This place is free to visit and amazing to see. The educational information is great for all ages, from my grandkids playing with the items there to play with, our teens, adult children and our parents there is plenty to view. A vast window area to view the damn. There are tours available but we have not set time aside to do that yet and a little gift shop if that is your thing. Great walk way to go over that cars travel too. However do not expect cars to stop so you can cross the road, cars are not allowed to stop on the bridge so watch your little ones but cars are suppose to be going very slow and seems to be safe enough for vehicles and pedestrians.

David Kelly

Truely a magnificent place. Beautiful clear water and breath taking scenery. One of our favorite places to vacation.

ROEL MONCIVAIS

Picture postcard beautiful scenery -- especially in the mornings and evenings. The dam and the gorge are truly impressive. I was not expecting it to be that tall. We were there on a week day, so there wasn't that much traffic. Very nice.

Crystal Federspiel

Cool place to site see....park is small unless you are traveling on foot.

Cameron Flewellen

It was great visiting Lake Powell. Glen Canyon National Recreation Area is a great place to take the family and enjoy the hot scorching desert. It gets very busy during the summer months so be careful. If you are driving across the lake don't drive within 30 ft of other boats that are trying to fish. If you do you may end up with a hook in your mouth. Use the rest of the lake and go around.

D D

A must stop by if you are in Page AZ. Very clean bathrooms and nice view of the Dam and the bridge across from the visitor center. Would recommended to everyone.

brendon gunn

Gorgeous. But dont get your boat rental from the marina. They are renting total trash to people. Including the houseboats. Check out air b and b for rentals or go to paige or big water.

E Ruffin

Stop. You must go. Oh its so much. More than anything I could say. This was one of my favorite thing. But no bathroom. Take water it very hot.

Bonnie Fagnant

Dam tour was very interesting and educational. We also did a cruise through antelope canyon that was very nice. The scenery was awesome.

Dakota Belliston

We make a annual trip here and it's amazing. Personally my favourite time of year is October but it is much colder by then.

Bobby Smalley

We were here to participate in the half marathon and had to of course do a little hiking. This canyon is absolutely amazing and well worth the time to see it. We hope to make this a yearly tradition.

Jamie Gray

My absolute favorite place in the world. So beautiful and unique, and we always have a great time. A great place to visit with family. It's extremely hot, though, so be prepared with lots of water.

Terry Maurer

No pictures can do it justice. Being on a boat all day with so much to explore. What an amazing lake and so many great people all having a great time.

Kay Townsend

I actually live and work here at Bullfrog. I am the teacher/principal at Lake Powell school. It is a beautiful place with lots to do. The red dirt and sand have the best energy!

Sam Hendon

The tour boat did not slow down when it drove around our house boat. The wake crashed into the side of the boat nearly capsizing us. It dumped half of the food out the fridge broke cabinets and ripped canvas off the front of the boat. The rest of the trip was great. Hot!!!!

Laura Warburton

I love Lake Powell but I'll never go early in the season again. The water rose 15" a day! It was cold. Sadly the muscle infestation is making the water pretty gross compared to what it used to be. Other than that, Powell is one of my very favorite places on earth!

Ellen Coulter

There are lots of fun activities in the area. We stayed in Page and spent a lot of time on Lake Powell. We did a 2 hour boat tour to get an idea of what the lake is like. we took the tour from the lake Powell lodge. Then, did a 4 hour float down the lake which was awesome. The next day we kayaked on the lake. We also took the antelope canyon tour which was great. Lastly, we took a tour of the dam which was amazing. We spent about two and half days there. Perfect amount of time. There are lots of tour companies to choose from. Check with your hotel or stop by the John Powell Visitors center for brochures.

Adriana Ramirez

Loved it! Beautiful!!not a lot of boat traffic, beautiful scenery, and staff was nice and informative ! Great family vacation!

George Latham

The most glorious and majestic place to experience in Utah. Totally indescribable. You just have to experience it...

Kai Manners

Fun tour if you give a dam haha

Jamie Geer

On the water views are breath taking. The contrast between the water, the cliffs, and the sky are amazing. We'll definitely be going back. Take your boat, or rent one, and get on the water.

Adam DeWitt

I love taking the 89 between AZ and UT so I can visit places like this. The bridge takes you high over a steep canyon where you get an amazing view of the dam, the power plant, and the lake beyond. From the visitors center you get another spectacular view with a little less feeling of heights, and there you have access to tons of information and fun facts on the dam, the area, and general information related to production of power. If me and my 3 y/o both enjoy it, it's good for the family.

Abhradeep Sarkar

Excellent spot to enjoy the sandstone terrain, relax along the lake waters, or get into some water sports! Parking can be scarce, but usually there are spots available. I have kayaked on the lake - was totally worth it! Do get into the antelope canyon to get the canyon experience from the lake. Look out for those speedboats and jet skis!

Lynda Truettner

This is where we go to get destressed and rejuvenated. Once you visit and go out on Lake Powell, you will never be the same. No other lake measures up. The beauty is unmatched.

Jenny Mooney

Very scenic. Well worth the visit. Worth seeing again. Good gift shop.

Curtis Wood

Great place to visit and play in the water. It was a busy weekend but if you look you can find a fun place to play and still be mostly on your own. Tried the restaurant on the marina and it was good food and reasonably priced for being a floating restaurant. Haha

Steven Schultz

It is so nice, I only wished I had more time to do things. We stopped by on our way home from a family vacations so we only allotted a few hours. We will be returning with Glen Canyon National Parks/ Recreational Area as our final destination. And spend a week or so here.

Jerome Greene

Breathtaking views, I must stop destination only a couple miles from Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon. If you have the time it is absolutely worth renting a boat taking a trip up Navajo Canyon. There is a beach and it is breathtaking, lots of fun for the entire family. Give yourself a full day as the lake is a lot bigger it looks on a map. Take lots of sunscreen!

Anna Sampson

Loved the scenery!! Breath taking. It was a quick trip through glen canyon, but would like to take longer trip just to take in all the beauty.

S Renaudie

I was impressed by the canyon and the horse shoe bend. A truly amazing view. Note that now the entrance to the bend is chargeable. You pay for your car, not per passengers. It's a long walk up and down, count 20 minutes to reach your destination if you walk normally. The path is uneven and there's only one shaded stop with cover and a few places to sit and relax. The car park offers ample parking spaces and you'll find toilets at the bottom.

Laura B

Went to lake powell, honestly it did not live up to the hype. Would not come back. However the water was very warm, could have spent all day swimming around in it. Just not worth the 30 or 35 dollar entrance fee.

Sanjoli Joshi

Loves this place. Has a great campsite for very affordable price. The campsite is 10 from the city of page, so you are close to everything. Great view. The campsite has shower and bathroom facilities. You can also swim in lake powel and have beach access through the camps. The dam is great to visit. It was a fantastic experience for me. Will definitely go back. Geat sunsets as well from the park.

Quincy Cly

Water was nice and cool. Everything about this lake was awesome! Can't wait to go back again.

Ann D

I really recommend the dam tour for $5. Our tour guide Lavern was awesome and the view from above and below the dam was excellent. Really gives you an idea of the size and scope of the dam.

Danielle Pearce

A great visitor center and the views are great. It's worth visiting and a great place to take a break during a long drive across country

Scott Earl

Favorite vacation every year with the kids. Wow, no other place like it. This year we're stayed at Padre Bay. It's a fun place. We went all the way up to Rainbow Bridge looking for a place. Came back to Padre Bay. It has cliff diving and some really cool rock formations to hike.

Cynthia Drozdowski

Scenery is wonderful. Festive evening atmosphere. Get there early, because it is definitely first come first serve. When the weather is good, it's great, but sand storms can make tent camping a challenge.

mac intosh

Lake Powell is such a beautiful combination of features. Water, sandy beaches, red rock bluffs, blue skies, flora, and fauna. It has something for everyone. Our annual visit is mid-September when the weather isn't quite so hot nor the lake so crowded. We had our stretch of beach to ourselves. A perfect week on the boat. Some windy days, but others the lake was glass. Good water for wakeboarding and wake surfing. We love Powell.

Jim Boggs

Phenomenal area. We rented a boat I got some photos that you could not have otherwise.

Janice Welch

My home town. Bn a long time since I've bn to the dam in Page , Ariz. Pleasant n very relaxing.

Evan Thompson

Horseshoe Bend was worth the hot .6 Mike hike. Breath taking views. Took the whole family for 10$.

Jean Ward

Took pics of the Glen Canyon Dam! It's a huge canyon and gorgeous.

Shana Littlefield

Gunsite is always a good time! Powell never disappoints.

Nadia K

Of all our hikes in southern national parks in Utah, this was my favourite! 22km hike but well worth it. I liked doing the hike counter clockwise (climb up at the end). On the hike in towards the gultch, there is a very cool climb down through the crack in the rock. After you climb out of the gultch, beware of which trail you take (they go to two different parking lots). The gulch was such a refreshing oasis

Paul Williams

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and willing to help, the facilities were clean and well maintained. The campsites were well laid out with a raised and level pad for your tent. We were a short walking distance from the beach and had a great view of the lake from our campsite.

Meg le Comte

Just breathtakingly beautiful and so many places to enjoy the views and water. If you go to Lone Rock, do not go down to the beach unless you have 4 wheel drive. ( experienced getting stuck)

Ryan Fuhriman

Great place to vacation! Many of the facilities have been upgraded. Fueling up and emptying out the house boat was good. The lake is amazing. Impressive vistas and tons of stuff to see. Photo is taken right from Bullfrog bay.

Clint estremo

Amazing location. Water is so refreshing. All the staff is extremely professional and courteous. Definitely a place I will go back to

Absolutely beautiful! Great to do a float trip and see Horseshoe Bend up close rather than from above. Plus you can see the petroglyphs down in the canyon and the dam up close.

It is so much fun if you have a house boat and speed boat, you can go boating or climbing. You can go find a water fall.

Boaters paradise, they do have some off roading, and deep sand. Lake Powell was cold and sandy, lots of people in the water tho. $14 per night ($7 with the card). Does have a dump station and a water fill station. Great place for the locals.

Stunning Topography! Canyonlands with a giant lake! We rented a boat, which was very expensive but a total blast. Found a side canyon and camped and swam and explored with our kayak. Wonderful vacation.

It was good with house boat tour. They charge you approx 30$ entry fee. Parking space was almost full ,so you may have trouble finding parking space .For boat tour reach little early as either you have to walk down 15 min to boat departure office or will get their shuttle service depending on its availability.

It's a dam on the Colorado River. We went thru the visitors center and took pics. Couldn't stay too long because we were headed to the north rim. Everything was clean and the help were very friendly. Talked to a guard who was carrying a M16A1 rifle and I thanked him for his service. He said he gets a lot of Americans who give him grief. I asked if he could take a pic with my wife and he said they didn't aloow that. He was a very nice man doing his job. If you read this and see him or his other guards, thank them. Don't be a jerk.

Bullfrog Marina doesn't possess near the glitz and glitter that Antelope Point Marina offers, but coming from SLC airport to this magical place it's a much shorter trip. However, once you're on this stunning lake it doesn't matter because the breathtaking vistas, phenomenal water, and spectacular surroundings are almost the same anywhere on this 180 mile long gem. Even God uses Lake Powell for his occasional day off

There are many impressive landmarks and recreational activities to enjoy. The tour of the Glen Canyon Dam was very interesting. Pictures don’t do it justice. Hotels and some activities are overpriced due to the popularity and combination of Navajo Nation taxes and state taxes.

Glen Canyon and the dam are spectacular and great works of engineering. I was very impressed with the dam tour and the views. Highly recommended.

Fantastic day and fantastic float trip. Our Jarrod was a fantastic guide. Thank you so much.

If you're near the north rim of the grand canyon, make this a stop on along your way. You'll pass right by if you're travelling south from utah to the canyon. Incredible views of the Colorado River. They offer tours of the damn, but I didn't have time to take one.

Loved this place! So beautiful! Large vistas, great hikes and amazing scenery. You must get off the beaten path here! Made it all the way to Hole in the Rock. Great day!

Floating down the Colorado River in Glen Canyon was by far the favourite part of my holiday. I booked last minute with Wilderness River Adventures who took us to Glen Dam to start our half day tour. Jerome out guide and captain of out boat was knowledgeable, friendly and fun. My only regret is that I didn't go on the full day excursion. Next time..

The recreational area is well maintained. It has lots of information about the Glen Canyon Dam. They even had a model to explain the dam. Also there were pictures timelining the making of the dam.
