One of the best places to go in Houston! I personally love museums and aquariums, so the Aquarium Pyramid was beautiful and exciting for myself and my family. We also went to the Rainforest Exhibit, and one thing to note is that it is VERY warm if you are going during the summer. Of course if you wear appropriate clothes for warm weather you should be fine. Even with the extra heat, Moody Gardens is the place to go! I’ve also heard that during the Christmas Holiday that they have great decorations, but I haven’t been during winter, so I wouldn’t personally know. Go to Moody Gardens, you won’t regret it!

Super relaxing and not crowded. Loved the huge pool and cabanas! The spiral staircase is so pretty. Room service and yummy food. Lovely and clean room with lots of tv selections and on the ball housekeeping if you need it. All of the staff was very nice. It exceeded my expectations.

It's a great place to visit. A beautiful place that holds amazing animals and it's a great experience. It holds a cinema, a little aquarium that allows us to feel stingrays, starfish, and jellyfish. The tropical pyramid holds exotic creatures. Overall it's a very well kept place by the staff. It could be better if the discovery pyramid held more hands on activities for kids.

My favorite was the rain forest, the paddle boat was next, then the aquarium. We also saw the 4d San Andrea and that was good! Overall, it was fun and no lines but once was enough. I mean we're adults here. If you have kids, it might be different. :)

Visited the aquarium pyramid. The aquarium was very nice, but the price for admission was not worth it. It took us less than an hour to see everything with 3 kids. And we were thorough, with a stop in the gift shop. In hindsight, should have skipped the aquarium and done the ropes course and zip line.

Very over priced. Everything seems kinda dated. Not many signs and the packages for different areas are confusing and not explained well. Would've ended up spending more if they had been more clear about everything. Kids had fun though, rainforest pyramid was awesome, the guides at each location seemed to know alot about the animals and exhibits. Aquarium pyramid was the same. Really fun time overall depsite the issues mentioned above. The hotel was great as well.

This is a great place to visit. I suggest buying the one day passes which allows you access to pretty much everything they have on site. Except the zipline(but you do get 25 percent off).

Beautiful nature in the pyramids! We did both buildings that had wildlife and I don’t regret one second of it. Also, get the chili cheese fries, they are delicious!

Diamond In the rough!! Great place for family fun. My only complaint is that they have 2 water slides in which do not go fast enough to hurt anything and the height requirement is ridiculous... especially for we short ppl, I was barely able to ride... much less my son.

First visit to the Rainforest Pyramid. We had a great time! Lots of interesting animals and birds, very educational in a fun way. Don't freak out at the heat and humidity when you walk in. There are cold air vents to stand in front of, and the forests get much cooler as you go down.

A hidden jem, Moody Gardens has a little bit of everything for a family to enjoy. It will few visits to take in a it has to offer. It has a water park to help enjoy Texas summers, a 4D and 3D theaters, an aquarium, and even its own rainforest exhibit. Simply put, a great time for the entire family young and old alike.

Nice little waterpark, food is actually affordable, restrooms are clean, ticket prices aren't outrageous. Plenty of covered seating, lockers for storage, etc. Really enjoyed it! Perfect for small children to adults.

Amazing!!! Very helpful staff, every one of them were so pleasant and helpful. I have never experience this kind of service and friendliness at any other hotel even the 5 stars hotel. The room was very clean, I can tell tell that they really take pride in what they do. I even watch the janitor that was cleaning out the trash cans. He actually took his time to even clean the trash bin and disinfect it. While he was doing that he found time to stop and greet us and even to say hi to my little boys. I have so many things I can tell you that they did to make our stay an exceptional experience buy it would just be to long. Trust me you have to just go there and experience it yourself. IWe have a 3 year old boy and 5 months old boy. They loved it. There were so many activities to keep him busy. Your was my first time here but I am definitely coming back and telling others about my experience. We are from Dallas/Fort Worth area but already looking forward to going back there again soon. Thank you to everyone there. Each one of you made it the best experience for us. Thank you.

The rainforest and aquarium here is so fun! I’ve always compared aquariums to the one in Dallas because in my opinion it’s the best one. This one is just as great. I’ve lived in HTX my entire life and it was my first time coming I’m so happy I finally made it to Moody Gardens :)

This price is OUTRAGEOUS for what you get! 2 adults and 1 child for $100 to see 1/2 the amount of fish you can see at the zoo for 1/3 of the price!!!! I understand conservation efforts but so does the zoo! Never going back to Moody Gardens! Huge waste of money!

It's just ok at best. My family and I went to the aquarium and rainforest. What was there was neat, but there was a lot of empty wall space and walkways, where there wasn't anything. The tickets were way too expensive for what you get. We took our time and tried to really make the most of it and we were in and out in 2 hours. Save your money.

Moody gardens is a pretty unique attraction, little something for everyone. Tickets at the site were pretty expensive but through promotions (island pass) were much cheaper. Make sure you shop around before buying them there. The SpongeBob ride (I think this rotates) was very entertaining. Was impressed at the interaction and that someone was voicing Patrick.

I come here annually, but have been many times. This time after Harvey I could tell the buildings were being renovated and undergoing various changes. The removal of the butterfly exhibit was very disappointing but some changes were good. Regardless the current state of the facility does not justify the price tag which is about $56 or more. There are still some good things about it though but maybe don't go currently.

We got tickets for the rainforest & aquarium pyramids. The aquarium had a lot of great sealife to learn about & they staff at the touch pools were very nice & knowledgeable. They have one of those overhead/tunnel exhibits as well. The jellyfish room was amazing! The rainforest pyramid was really interesting. There are some parts that are more for kids, but that's expected. About half are indoors with air conditioning & the ther half is a rainforwst environment (humidity & everything) to mimic outdoors. The "outdoors" part has free roaming birds, bats, monkeys (very few), and insects. Everything was inside, but if you're pale I'd advise some sunscreen or a hat, we were outside a little more than I expected. You'll be walking quite a bit, so I suggest wearing something you're comfortable in.

This was our first time visiting Moody Gardens. We have seven children and everyone had a good time. We visited the aquarium, the rainforest, and the 3D theater. We especially enjoyed the penguins in the aquarium and the entire rainforest experience. The gift shops and food are predictably over priced but overall a nice place to visit. Recommend.

Beautiful place with plenty things to do for the children plenty of things to do a day pass is enough to see it all but 2 days would allow you to soak everything in. They allow you to purchase one cup that allows you to refill for free through out the day it is best to purchase when you buy food because it makes the cup 7$ instead of $14. Overall it was a very great attraction we will ne returning!!

This resort is insane! Theres is so much to do and for a great price too. They have put a lot of hard work into making the resort what it is and it definitely shows. The rain forest exhibit was top notch as well as the aquarium. The colonel was fun as well and a nice little relax after seeing all of the pyramids. The food is really good and every breakfast and dinner a buffet is offered downstairs. Would really love to come back here at any given chance.

Hotel was great! The room was clean, spacious, and had a great design. The bedding was perfect and everything was in good condition. Staff was friendly and pleasant. During Easter the hotel puts on a lot of activities for kids and adults to enjoy. There was an egg hunt, a tram ride, face painting, petting zoo, and other fun things. There was also an Easter brunch which was delicious and had lots of choices. Overall, it is a great place to visit.

A great place for the whole family to visit. They rescue animals and give them a good home at Moody Gardens. They go above and beyond for their animals which is very nice to see. They make sure their facilities are very accessible to everyone both kids adults elderly and those needing extra assistance getting around. They are also service dog friendly and we'll also go above and beyond to accommodate people with disabilities. It's a very clean facility as well and is especially nice and quiet in the mornings during the week. The employees are very knowledgeable about the animals and can always teach me new things every time I go.

Moody Gardens is one of the best resorts I have stayed at. There is so much to do and see. Palm Beach is pretty big and perfect for families with children. The Cafe is fabulous, as is the pizza and ice cream place. The pools are fantastic and relaxing, only made better by the swim up bar. Kids loved s'mores in the evening. I can't wait to go back and s explore more.

Fun! My husband and I had a blast with looking at the different sea life that sea lions were fun to watch. We had one woman that worked there that told us about the jelly fish. We kinda wished more of the workers would have talked to use about the different sea creatures.

Lots of varied activities for the little ones and me. I think it would be hard to come here all the time or even more than once a year unless you came all the time as a local with your kids. Compared to other museums, I was pleasantly surprised how close many of the animals were, sometimes without any barriers or nets (in the rainforest pyramid). Now, before you overreact, this are not the dangerous or big animals. It is mostly birds and some shy monkeys. The aquarium has similar features and allows people to touch rays and jellyfish. The way the seal and penguin tanks work, they let you see at different levels. This was quite cool because the kids could experience the animals in different ways. For toddlers, this place was great and could easily be a return trip in the future. We didn't get to experience everything because my girls are too young. I'd recommend it, particularly for short attention spans. Lots of restrooms, a restaurant, and ramps everywhere.

Customer service here is absolutely terrible! My family came down as a weekend vacation here, purchased what we thought was an hour long boat ride. It ended up being only 30 minutes! We started at 410 and docked at 440. I figured as a reasonable person, you talk to the ticketing services to get this corrected. We spoke to Pamela, ticketing manager and she was absolutely rude. She would continue to say "we do not do refunds" and would only offer us to come back another day. This is a one time vacation and coming back another day was not in the cards. She would not listen to what we were saying then passed us onto another manager that was supposedly above her. His name was Jake and after speaking for a few moments, Jake just walked away without even apologizing for the situation or not listening to the fact that we could not come another day. I was absolutely appalled by the way we were treated especially as paying customers. Even offering half off would've made us completely satisfied. Instead, it was met with countless excuses after excuses. They even blamed it on the weather and how 'crazy' windy it was. It was a perfectly sunny day and barely any wind at all. If you come here, don't expect them to take care of you. They only want your money.

Second year to enjoy during the HAC for training. Power went out, no ac during one day of training, the rest of day cancelled. Very unusual visit. We were way in N Tower, although it was very quite, it was too far to travel with assisting a friend in wheelchair. Hoping next year is better

My family had a great time learning and seeing live animals ❤️. The rain forest pyramid was my favorite. My kiddos liked the Aquarium because they got to touch the sting ray and the star fish, and saw some sharks and penguins. The boat ride was a little nerve reckin. My twin toddlers kept getting close to the rail ( big gaps all over it). The discovery center was a big break for us parents. The kids got to dress up in each center and play pretend. There was a lot of space for them. Next time we go we plan to visit the beach all day. Looks like a lot of fun man made beach, waive wall, lazy river, enormous splash pad and more.

We just went to the aquarium and it's definitely not the best aquarium I've ever been to but we had a great experience with what they have. They have a few touch tanks to make a great interactive experience as well as a couple shows with divers in the tanks and you can ask the divers questions about the exhibit while they're in the water. One of the touch tanks is even a jellyfish touch tank which I've never seen before. Would totally recommended the aquarium at Moody Gardens.

Went there for the first time. Both the aquarium and rainforest have been done well. Definitely a spot for pretty pictures and have fun with the kids. The penguins and the underwater aquariums are worth it. It could be larger with more variety though. Rainforest is a good attempt. 4D shows are good. Worth a watch.

Very nice hotel and conference facilities. Conference rooms were large and accommodated our entire group. Rooms were nice and clean, staff was friendly. Restaurants on site were good. We didn't get to visit the park on this trip, but I have been through the exhibits in the past and they are well worth the visit.

May 2019-Aquarium only review- kids get in free to one attraction with an A/B report card. The aquarium had sections closed for years because of renovations, but there were still so many parts closed or with no animals/fish/sea creatures. Quite disappointing after driving 4 hours to get there.

Admission is WAY too high for what you get. It should be half the price, the Rainforest Pyramid and Aquarium Pyramid are a bit smaller than most other attractions that charge a similar price. I've been to both the National Aquarium and Adventure Aquarium in Camden NJ, both are vastly superior without the over inflated costs. It is a nice place to visit if you've got a bunch of money to buy tickets. $70/person for a "value pass" is far too expensive in my opinion. Save your money if you're on a budget, there are other things much less expensive than this place.

Good place for a family with small kids. Bigger kids will like Schlitterbahn more during the summer. The butterfly pavilion is pretty cool. 4 out of 5 price-wise.

A recent family trip to Galveston brought us to Moody Gardens. We visited the aquarium and chose a rainy day, in an attempt to avoid the crowds. We were wrong about the crowds, since apparently everyone else was thinking the same thing, but parking was easy...just be prepared to get wet! We visited right at opening so we beat the long line that piled up behind us. We were fortunate to get in quickly, before it got too busy, and get to check out all the cool things in the aquarium. The staff was helpful and my cousin even got interviewed by the local news, about her experience at the aquarium. Overall, this was a pleasant experience and I would definitely come back.

Love it here. There is so much to do if you get a season pass. We go to the water park with my niece and she loves it! The aquarium has some amazing attractions to (you can actually touch a jellyfish!). Check it out if you haven’t been yet.

We just went to the aquarium and it's definitely not the best aquarium I've ever been to but we had a great experience with what they have. They have a few touch tanks to make a great interactive experience as well as a couple shows with divers in the tanks and you can ask the divers questions about the exhibit while they're in the water. One of the touch tanks is even a jellyfish touch tank which I've never seen before. Would totally recommended the aquarium at Moody Gardens.

My husband and I came to Galveston for our honeymoon. Ok. So we thought we should go here, since it’s so high rated online. WELL. First of all, it’s WAY OVERPRICED. Unless you have an outrageous income, enjoy blowing your money, or truly want to do all the tourism things on this island—STAY AWAY. We went to the 4D theatre. It was $25 total for us to get in. Upon entering the person taking our money did NOT inform us we were paying for 15 MINUTES of a film. 15! EXCUSE ME? The “film” ended and we sat in disbelief. The staff had no reservations for the lies they fed us by not mentioning the SCAM we were walking in on. I’m ABSOLUTELY dissatisfied. This place should not be on your bucket list—as I assume the rest of the attractions as just as misleading. OH—one other bit of information. The “staff” (who are probably underpaid) exclaimed to us this information—about the scam of a “movie”—was online. FALSE! We checked everywhere, no sign of it being as fake news as this “theatre”. For those of you who read this review and don’t listen—don’t say I didn’t warn you. Thank you.

We had no idea what to expect but I'm so happy my husband & I decided to spend a whole day here exploring all of the exhibits we could. Since it wasn't peak season it wasn't too crowded either. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for family friendly fun in Galveston.

I somehow managed to arrive on a special senior day, although I hadn't planned on it. Thankfully because of that, it only cost me $30.00 instead of the usual sixty for a day of "activities" at Moody Garden. Unless you wish to partake in Sponge Bob Square pants or Ninja turtles, at that time of year I really only had 3 options. The 1) the 4D movie, 2) the Rain Forest, and 3) the Aquarium. I learned that 4D is essentially 3D with seats that vibrate and poke you in appropriate places in the movie, and also spritzed me with water when the movie thought it would be a good idea. Personally I much prefer the 3D where I don't get wet. Also, the movie was a BBC special, and was NOT in 3D, although there were some very minor 3D effects. It was about sharks, but I mainly wanted the 3D, which really was not part of the movie. The rest was about the same. The Rain Forest was nice, but nothing out of the ordinary, and compared to some big name aquariums, this one also was nothing special. Perhaps it was worth the $30.00 that I spent, it certainly was NOT worth $60.00. I also did get the buffet in the "visitor center" which was very non remarkable. The waitress was very nice however.

This is a fantastic aquarium! My wife and I visited years ago, and we came back to visit for the penguin encounter. She absolutely loved meeting a penguin up close and learning about penguins. I can't recommend it enough, and the hotel is wonderful!

Great place! I never actually stayed in the hotel, but everything was so nice. It's also convenient for bringing kids because they have an aquarium, rain forest, theater, and other fun things to do right there at the hotel. If you get a room in a floor high enough you get a nice view of the ocean.

The kids had a great time! We really enjoyed the aquarium and had a blast at Palm Beach. The paddle boat was pleasant and the zip line was a lot of fun!! One of my favorite events was seeing the Spongebob Adventure, it was hilarious!! It is an all day park, so go early and stay all day!!

The service was very good at the lobby restaurant on this visit. We told the waiter that our daughter had just been inducted in the NJHS and she was very kind. She must have told the manager because he came to the table to tell us that we received a 20% discount. Our kid got chicken strips with fries. We had the chicken salad/tuna salad plate and a chicken wrap with chips. All meals were very good.

I have always loved taking my children to Moody Gardens. My problem with them has nothing to do with the attractions which are educational and always a lot of fun. My problem is with the Membership. I have had a family membership with moody gardens for two years. The problem is that this year, my household (two adults and four children) has outgrown the membership requirements. My four year old no longer qualifies for the free admission. I was set to purchase a family membership today ($475.00) and I called to see if I could get a discounted membership for my recently turned four year old daughter, and they refused to offer me any assistance with this. This is rather frustrating. I've been saving up to purchase this for my family, and now I am reconsidering. Maybe we will do a museum membership package instead from now on. It seems that Moody Gardens could offer some sort of discount or assistance for a large family like mine, but I guess not.

We did the rainforest and the aquarium both were totally awesome. However people walking that work there won't stop and answer a simple question. Kind of rude I thought! Boy at the ticket desk was very respectful.

We took a company day trip with over 200 employees. Mr. Quintin Cleveland was wonderful in planning and coordinating this for us to have the Palm Beach Party Package. Great place to visit.

We attended a private party for work that offered private viewings of the sea creatures at the Moody Garden Aquarium. We got to wonder about the the pyramid with adult beverages and appetizers. It was quiet and peaceful. We were allowed to touch the jellyfish at the touch tank. We were served a meal of salmon, steak, and chicken with awesome sides and . The desserts were incredible. They were all catered by the Moody Hotel. Great fun!!!!!

Loved the aquarium and rain forest 5+stars for them, outstanding. But the other pyramid 0 stars, I wouldn't waste my time with that garbage. The paddle boat 1star 30minute ride that's supposed to be 50 minutes and the paddle is not working and has been broken for some time. Don't waste$ on the value PKG.

Great way to spend the weekend. It's pricey but well worth it. Go for the 2 day value pass because it won't be possible to experience all the attractions included in just 1 day. We bought a 1 day but they let us upgrade to a 2 day pass before closing. I really appreciated that our 2 1/2 year old was free. It helped us out. We tried out the buffet and it was delicious. It was just about $5 more than the concession food served in other parts of the grounds. We came from Dallas for Memorial Day weekend and expected long lines but that was not the case. Our 6 and 2.5 year old loved it. We'll definitely come back in a couple of years.

Great place to explore and see many different animals from the rainforest and ocean. Several exhibits and activities such as the Ropes Course, Zip Line, and Palm Beach. There is even small movie films to learn about specific creatures. I did find the price to be expensive, but once I found put how much it covered; it was worth it.

Very fun experience! We got the two day pass which is unlimited access to pretty much everything. The beach was the perfect size, not too big. The aquarium was beautiful. You get to touch stingrays and jellyfish. The rainforest was also really fun, there were lots of animals. Overall great experience definently worth the visit.

not worth the money they charge $40 for both the aquarium and park is too much considering there is hardly any good fish in the aquarium, they have couple more than local aquarium shops. need to consider increasing the attraction or people will stop coming here.

We love everything about Moody Gardens from the hotel to the pyramids. We have attended Christmas in July and Christmas events in December which was super fun for our preschoolers. We have had family passes which are includes everything, including the 3d movies. It is definitely worth the money for a family pass if you live close enough.

Great experience but truly believe they should allow for coolers at the Palm Beach attraction. It gets very expensive when you are there all day and having to purchase every little food or drink for a family of 5. A cooler with water and a few snacks would help keep the cost down to a more reasonable amount.

Wish I could give this place 0 stars. Bought aquarium and "butterfly" exhibit. Didn't see anything new from 2 years ago. Although the penguins and seals were actually very entertaining and lively this time. Couldn't find the butterfly exhibit because it doesn't exist anymore. Why would they sell a ticket for an exhibit that doesn't exist? Or explain that it's just the rainforest pyramid now? It was hard to find a drink/food kiosk open. My friend ate a slice of pizza and got sick. What a horribly expensive, dirty place. Felt the same way 2 years ago.

It was a great experience while we visited Galveston from out of town. The pricing seemed rather high compared to other family activities of the same nature in other states. However every facility was clean and neat so perhaps the cost is going towards facilities care. I could change my babies diaper comfortably without being grossed out at every bathroom we stopped at. That speaks volumes for cleanliness. Try to visit on a special pricing day or package to offset the slightly high prices of admission. We packed our snacks and lunch and left them in the stroller. When we got hungry we ate on our own and didn’t have any issues.
