You have the feddbacks of real people like you who are purchasing the products and services of Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park (Park) in the state of Texas.
At the moment this business has a score of 4.8 out of 5 and this rating has been based on 476 reviews.
As you can see its rating is practically the best, and it is founded on a large number of scores, so we may conclude that the rating is quite faithful. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well with the service, it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to place tatings when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Park corresponds to the category of National park.
Great perspective on LBJ and Lady Bird. Well worth the trip.
If you enjoy history in any way, this is a must. The state park south of the river is just OK. The federal park north of the river is amazing. The house tour is worth the $3 admission. Take some time to listen to the recorded phone messages from LBJ and icons of his time.
This is an amazing historic site. Enjoy the multi stop drive through LBJ Ranch starting with birth. My family got to see the personal side of an American President in our home state!
More history here than I thought would be here. Took my parents and we had a great time looking at the working farm and some of the other homes including the airport. We didn't do the tour but enjoyed the drive throughout the entire park. Well worth the time.
Beautiful area and it is an interesting historical place. It gives you a great understanding how life in rural Texas at the beginning of 1900's. It gives you great insight to one of the upbringing of President Johnson.
The tour of the Johnson home was fun and very informative. Walking the trail to the Johnson settlement was also relaxing and enjoysbke.
LBJ Ranch was very down to earth Texas heritage and well worth the visit!
The ranch was very interesting and beautiful. Definitely worth the trip.
Go! Regardless of political affiliation, it is simply an awesome experience to walk through the 'Texas White House' & piece of American history
A must see.
This was a fun place for the kids
Love the tour and experience. Learned a lot about LBJ and the history that surrounds the placw.
Its a gem! Wonderful place to visit for a few minutes or a few hours.
A truly fascinating site with rich history. Incredibly well presented by guides and maintained as a National Park. This is a must-visit for anyone driving by (and worth a detour), but be sure to get there early enough to get on a tour of the house.
The park employees were just so dang helpful! Really went out of their way to be nice and friendly.... every single one of them! The place is kept up and maintained to perfection. My hats off to them for keeping an important part of American history alive! Well done.
Great experience
An interesting walk through history, affordable tour ticket to Texas Whitehouse, some parts of home under construction.
Loved the film, the short stories about LBJ. Stories about the ranch. Very interesting.
Loved the place. Great history.
Enjoyed our visit very much. Staff is very helpful. The tour is pretty much free except for the white house. A must visit.
Great stop along Hwy 290. LBJ's Texas White House. A working ranch as well as park and museu. Longhorns and buffaloes in the pastures. Much to see and experience.
Good place to visit. Boyhood home, childhood place. Interesting. Lot of things to know.
Beautiful grounds with lots to see. Deer and cattle roam freely. Be sure to take the "Texas White House" tour.
I really enjoyed this tour and had a fun time. Air Force 1 was an added treat to climb aboard. The $3 is well worth the admission to tour the White House.
Great insight into the formative years of LBJ
Cool place to visit and learn somehistpry
Great peaceful ranch to tour for those who love history. Cool to see where so much of this cou tries history happened during his presidency. Free to drive around - must pay for tour of home (which is currently closed - opening in roughly 5-10 years after renovation).
This is a great pit stop if you're driving through the hill country. It is absolutely beautiful, and it is also full of historical significance. You can see Lyndon B. Johnson's childhood school and his house he lived in during his fault life, including the time he was president. It is the kind of place you can spend an hour or a whole day depending on where you go, what you see, and how interested you are in the history of LBJ. A must see if you are driving through central Texas!
Beautiful green grass and tons of bluebonnets in bloom...better come quick befire they're gone!
Took a tour. Loved learning about President LBJ
Lots of history. A must visit. Aldo nearby Fredericksburg has a beautiful downtown and lots of wine tasting is in the area.
A surprising spot of history in tx. Would recommend the visit.
I was part of the 12 Annual, LBJ 100 BICYCLE TOUR 3/30/19 this weekend and it was awesome. Over 1200 participants. Overcast weather but it was worth it. I would do it again.
Excellent tour and great historical value!
Really neat place and very knowledgeable your guide
Typical Texas better looking tiled roadside bathroom than my own.
You first drive around the perimeter of the portion of the ranch that was donated by LBJ's widow, Ladybird Johnson. It continues to be a working ranch, just as it was when LBJ ran it. When you get near the main house you get a sense of all of the changes that were made to accommodate the president, LBJ. There is a hanger, with LBJ's private jet, a runway for the jet, several of his limousines, and a building just for the secret service. Well worth the time for the tour.
Got to see upclose planes
This was a beautiful place to visit. I highly recommend checking it out.
It's wonderful. Takes a lot of walking, it's well worth it. The 1915 working ranch that's open is very very good and educational.
Simply a must see when you are in the vicinity. Go and feel LBJ's spirit.
I enjoyed visiting this place. Very educational and it’s free! The only thing you have to pay for is a tour of the Texas White House.
We liked it very much! Bluebonnets in full bloom, not too crowded, lot of places to visit. There are two LBJ parks next to each other: state and national. Both worth visiting.
We missed some of the activities but we did see a bunch of axis deer.
Great for history buffs and families.
Wonderful experience, a must and LBJ even made it free so no excuse to miss it.
Just beautiful
Tour of Lyndon B Johnson boy hood home. Very nice
Love the Christmas lights in December!
I really liked this historical site
Well worth a look at. If your bored and want to do a random trip, here's your destination.
Was a wonderful trip to remember, would recommend to anyone.
Great National park commemorates a U S President.
That is what made America so great and very good education for the young generation. Must see place!
Unique place. It is a working farm, so be aware animals can approach your vehicle. You currently cannot tour the main house, but the park is still well worth a visit.
Moving tribute to lbj
Lot of good information plenty of history on the Johnson family
We toured the Texas White House and Air Force 1/2. Totally cool to see how it was all done back then and what got accomplished during the LBJ presidency. Of course, he had a Congress that was competent.
Lovely atmosphere. Great scenic drive. Interesting visitor's centre. Good, informative tour. Well worth a visit.
Beautiful place
This was a great outing. Enjoyed the drive, the museum and the history.
The park was beautiful and the tour of the house was outstanding.
Home is closed, still a beautiful place to visit.
Rangers are very friendly and informative. Very interesting.
Whit House in the Texas Hill country
Great history and helpful staff
Watched a Movie Under the Stars! Great evening
This was an quick stop but was a very good museum for the LBJ era.
Learn about this unappreciated President, AND you will have a much greater understanding of how truly inspiring Lyndon Johnson was! Take the Ranger guided tour and the self guided drive through tour, don't rush! Lyndon Johnson was a great President who inherited a messy unwinnable war, looked out for the poorest citizens of the United States and this Park educates visitors about his impact on our country!
There was plenty to do and a lot to see. They have cows roaming the fields and bison & longhorns kept behind fences. I got to pet a goat and look inside Lyndon B. Johnson's private jet. Just be careful with the heat, stay hydrated and cool.
Always a wonderful and reflective experience!
The Chief Ranger, Antoine, who was on duty when we arrived was very, very friendly and informative! He made our visit!
Take the tour of this Beautiful presidential landmark. Great history.
Great place to visit! Took kids age range 3-10 and everyone had a great time. Visited July 7th and I was concerned about the heat but It was surprisingly tolerable and didn't take away from our experience. We ended the trip with a dip in the pool!
I thoroughly enjoyed this place. I will be going back.
It was a very interesting day, a nice walking trail, and a lot of history of LBJ presidency that I had never heard of before.... And free except for the inside tour of the White House itself!
L B J , history, Texas president. If you like America you'll like it here. If you don't,.. Get out of this country.I'll give you the boot on your way out as a present.
A step back in time. So tranquil and well preserved.
Beautiful place! Very nice visit of the LBJ house!
Absolutely love this place. It is beautiful and quiet and calm and full of Wildlife. Is a great place for your family to go and visit.
It was very exciting to see a past presidents house he would frequently go to during his presidency and after. Beautiful countryside, awesome views and historical elements. Highly recommend if you want to teach yourself or your kids the importance of history.
Great history and it doesn't cost anything to see it..
Interesting
It was so interesting to see the Texas White House and to learn about President Lyndon B Johnson and Lady Bird. Very impressive and informative. The Ranch and Park is beautiful.
I never realized how little I knew about LBJ until I came here. The ranch is beautiful and the show barn was very fun to see baby goats and cows. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The airport was interesting and makes me wonder if Mar-a-lago is going to be converted into a state/national park.
Again super fun great place to stop on the way to Fredericksburg
Most interactive, but be prepared for both driving and walking, it's a large estate.
Really enjoyed the tour of the Texas White House.
Lovely staff, great experience seeing all the stuff and even seeing LBJ's daughter speak.
A place that everyone need to go to and see great historia
It was totally interesting and educational!
Interesting
This has to be one of the coolest parks I've gone to. They have an accurate historical representation of what it was like when the families lived there, what their Farm would have looked like and even cattle that you could get close to without getting too close to. I even had the chance 2 talk to one of the volunteers who was in charge of taking care of the Longhorns. I plan on taking my baby boy once it warms up a little bit.
If you really want to get into the life of LBJ, this is the place. The National Park Rangers really go to great lengths to make you feel like you know the man. His jet is there, his cars, etc, and as you tour his house, you begin feeling like you know the family itself. Incredibly impressive.
Great place to visit.
Enjoyed visiting where OBJ grew up and then had the Texas White House.
We spent too much time in the presidents office, house interesting, especially info on Lady Byrd. Disappointed they had no wildflowers planted on roadways or around house, thats reason we went this time of year. Whole tour was good.
Cool place to visit
Simply amazing that LBJ donated his ranch to the National Park Service. Never knee about the Texas Whitehouse. Air Force One is amazing!
Loved all of the displays and information. Our tour guide, Mary, was awesome, funny, and informative. Great national park!
I you like history you will like this
Awesome experience. In the middle of Texas wine country. It was an all around cool experience with cows, historic structures , presidential jet and big oak trees
So glad we made the trip while visiting Austin. Totally engaging national park, learn sooo much about LBJ and his administration.
Awesome a must see.
An interesting collection of buildings and elements offer a revealing view into the lives of LBJ and Lady Bird on his central Texas ranch. There is something to address many interests, no matter your age.
The staff was knowledgeable. It was a great history lesson.
Very cool place. Full of history. Can easily spend an entire day here. I brought my wife and kids and spent $6. Beautiful property, lots to see and do. Would definitely recommend.
Old home place was interesting and a significant history lesson.
As a visitor from outside of Texas I was especially appreciative of the fact that this park provides the public with access to a working cattle ranch. It allowed me to see and learn about how most of the land in Texas is managed. The ranch district of the park is gorgeous - I had a great time sitting under the huge live oaks beside the pedernales river and reading a book. I also enjoyed the settlement nature trail in Johnson City. While the land is not as large as many visitors of national parks come to expect, when one spends any extended amount of time in central or east Texas they learn to accept the beauty of whatever small pockets of land are available to recreational users. Then there is the historical aspect - I had no idea about the breadth of Johnson’s Great Society and how he worked so hard to end poverty, protect the environment, and create a more equal society. It is my sincere hope that more people are able to learn about his legacy.
Very well kept rest area. I felt safe while I napped on my journey to west Texas. I absolutely love going through hill country. I highly suggest this scenic wine country route.
Interesting! If you like history of the Presidents, this is a great place to learn about LBJ.
Great facility to visit
Historic national park
Great place to go to, specially with kids, we got to see a cow being milked, kids got to chase chickens, got really close to sheep and pigs. It was a great experience for city kids :). Also seeing what a school in the beginning of the 20th century was like, and being able to visit the one president Johnson attended was very neat.
Good historical place
Well worth the stop. Didn't know how much time he spent on the ranch while President doing Presidential work.
This park is huge and offers so much to be seen and learned about. The staff at the visitor center was very helpful and friendly. They gave us a map and clear directions around the park. It is free to go every where besides the house itself. The park had a farm that had workers who lived like they did in the 1900s. They where able to tell us in detail what a normal day would be like and show us how they processed the food. They even had animals running around inside of the large fenced in area. The sheep where very relaxed and let people pet them. The chickens and turkeys did not let people get close though. The bisons where in a field to far away to see up close and it was pretty disappointing. But driving to the hanger we got to see many cows. The hanger is full of history and has many different ways to learn about it. We did not go to the house because of maintenance issues. It was amazing to be able to experience so much for free and to see the history if one of the Presidents.
Unless you are a hystery buff this place was pretty boring
Adjacent to state park. Plan on at least two hours. Lots to see and to learn about the President.
We went early so the drive through the ranch was pretty solitaire and serene. Lots of Hereford cows and us on the road. Make sure to check out the automobiles. The tour of the Texas White House home takes about 35-40 minutes.
Very interesting and informative. A shame the white house has a structural issue.
This was a great place to visit with the family and learn while enjoying the experience
Plan on a full day here! this place is huge!
Amazing experience. Just like how LBJ would have wanted to great you. Amazing place. Take your time, lots to walk around and see. The volunteers have a lot of knowledge. Wish the dam road was open. Don't miss this. The national park side is the actual ranch but the state side has a great movie and small exhibits.
Great stop. His ranch is massive and it's fun driving through it and seeing the Hereford herds roaming. The tour guide wasn't very good but just wandering through the 1950's house was very cool and seeing the plane and cars from that era was worth the trip
What a treasure!! LOVE to visit historic places. Lyndon Baines Johnson's Boyhood home in Johnson City, Texas.
What a place!! Exceptional!!
Excellent day trip from Austin. The ranch is beautiful and the "Texas White House" is definitely worth touring.
Great history here
Enjoyed it very much!!
history, but also it makes these folks more real, like your neighbors.
Very interesting museum....had no idea that LBJ had passed a ton of legislation. A lot happened in the 60's. This library had a lot of information.
Nice historical park. Cool house. However the living room is being fixed, so it was all jammed into the dining room. The tour guide was lackluster. Worth a look for sure.
This is a must visit if you are in the area. You first have to go to the LBJ State Park and Historic Site Visitor Center to obtain your free permit and map for the self-guided drive and tour to the Texas White House. Once you get to the "White House", you can do everything on your own except visit the first floor of the White House. You have to sign up for this and I think they only do groups of 12 every 30 minutes. The place has a lot of history and the guides are very informative and knowledgeable.
Beautiful and historic. I recommend the tour. Sometimes, Lucy Johnson, daughter of President Lyndon B. Johnson, guides the tour.
Very beautiful place great for taking photos at also
Well kept historical place. Incorrect data on Ford phaeton sign.
I love this serene and quiet stop every time we come through Johnson City!! The history and rich textures and quiet walks are so beautiful here.
I knew very little about this president and his time as a politician, even less about his existence away from the public world. I am so glad that I went here and learned more about his accomplishments and his passions. I have a great respect for LBJ now.
The history
Great historical place.
This is a great place visit a place of modern history
This is an a amazing place and can't beat the price ($0)! So much to see and do... you really need a whole day to do it all. From the living ranch to the presidents home... the cattle and longhorns and deer. Such a beautiful place. Can't say enough about it!
What a diamond in the rough. A great place to visit and learn about one of our past presidents. Our visit was free and self guided. We were able to see a limited museum/store, the airplane, walk some of the grounds and drive a number of miles over the property. It was like taking a step back in history listening to some of the old recordings of past telephone calls, looking at the plane, cars and family home. This was a nice diversion and the admission was free.
Awesome place. Great to see the location where LBJ spent most of his time outside of the Whitehouse.
Splendid experience at the ranch of ex president LBJ.
LBJ was kind enough to leave a portion of the vast holdings he accumulated in his lifetime to the people that he served. The grounds are well kept and the tours are worth the trip to this part of the great state of Texas.
It was an honor to visit the childhood home of LBJ. In addition to other historical sites, it gives a good picture of what his life might have been like.
Definitely worth visiting. Find out why LBJ is called the last frontier president.
Great tour guide. Lots of information Great place to get out and walk or ride in the comfort of your bus or car.
Nice place to visit.
The southern White House in all its Glory. LBJ was a vastly underrated president. People owe it to themselves to check this out
This place will bring back memories for some and intrigue many others. I love coming out here. Don't miss it if you're in the area.
So cool! Lots of things to explore. Great for a picnic and the info center has a ton of info about Texas native plants and flowers and what each is used for. Def recommend getting the DVD tour.
Love this place. Lots of great info and displays.
A wonderful way to spend a few hours. Driving around the farm was particularly cool. Just be patient with the cows that wander across the road!
Enjoy. History
