We've got the information of real people like you who purchase the products of Storybook Island (Park) in the area close to South Dakota.
At this moment the firm gets a rating of 4.7 stars out of 5 and that rating has been calculated on 1243 reviews.
As you can see the average score it has is almost the top, and it is founded on a very high number of scores, so we may think that the valuation is very faithful. If there are many people who bothered to give their opinion when they are happy, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to put evaluations when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Park is classified in the category of Theme park.
The kids loved this! It's a huge park with lots of cute things for them to play on. The admission is free. There is also a train ride and bouncy houses that do cost money but are very cheap. They also have snack stands, ice cream and a gift shop. Very neat place to take the kiddos to get some cute pictures

Brought back my childhood. Love Smokey Bear
The best experience ever. If you have kid 10 below its a must visit. So many cartoon characters.. Chicken, pirateship, three pigs n fox, pumpkin, windmill house, donkey, three goats story
Family affordable! Great place for kids of all ages. I loved it when I was a kid. Really brought back the memories.
Magical park where all people can be kids♥️
I came here October 5th and it is closed after Labor Day. I wished that would have been posted on their hours on the internet, it would have saved me about 30 minutes of driving.
Fun place for kids to run around and explore, and we'll kept. The free admission is a huge benefit too!
Memories made that will last a lifetime
This was listed underneath the free children's activities of Rapid City. It was free. My boys are 9 and 12. It was not a good fit for them, as far as their ages. We all did walk thru the park. The pictures on the website did make things look a lot bigger than they are. But it was really fun to walk through and reminisce about all the old storybook things.
I grew up going here and then my kids did also so it has a special place in my heart. We are traveling back to SD this weekend and I'll get to bring my grandkids for the first time. I couldn't be more excited to get to watch them experience it! To those of you complaining about various things, I challenge you to come up with another FREE, enjoyable, family friendly place that your child will love and have great memories of!! I actually seriously think my grandkids are going to enjoy Storybook Island more than they did Disneyland where they only got to ride 2 rides and every place was jam packed. No Storybook isn't Disney but for a small child it may as well be!!! If you're vacationing anywhere near Rapid City you absolutely have to make time for Storybook Island!! And PLEASE donate if you go to help keep this wonderful place alive!
Was fun to see well worth stopping
Pretty cool for the kids. Lots of things to play on. They have a carousel to ride. We were going to ride the train, but the help was a problem!!!
It's an excellent place to take your young kids there to hangout. The place is free.
I don't know how this place has stayed open or free but I am so thankful. It is an amazing source of information and fun for kids of all ages. I visited when I was in highschool and was excited to bring my kids here on our trip. We will come back whenever we can.
Disappointed! We were from out of state and really looking forward to enjoy this beautiful park. We arived at 11. Just to be told by a local that it's only open during the summer. When school starts its closes down. Wish it said on the website
Always a great place to being the kids!!! Fantastic for the whole family.
The kids had a blast! Lots of stuff for them to climb on.
Been here several times.love the fact they are always updating. This is a must see attraction if you are in the area.
Storybook Island is a fantastic place. I've been going there since I was a tiny child and still enjoy it. A must visit when in Rapid City.
My 6 yrs and 4 yrs njoyed a lot. Free park but well maintained.. could easily spend 2 -3 hours without getting bored
Our daughters had so much fun!
The park is free to get into and it's pretty amazing. Even my 14yr old daughter had a great time running around and taking pictures. The organization responsible for this park has done a wonderful job of creating a place for kids to have a great time.
My grandkids love this place. It gets pretty hot in the summer months, so take lots of water and snacks for the little ones. At Christmas time, they decorate it with lots of lights and Santa is there too. The picture is my grandson, 2018.
A fun, free, huge park for kids of all ages, There is even a pretty big area just for toddlers. There are tons of fairytail/story book based things to play on, free plays during the summer and for a few dollars you can get snacks or ride the train or carousel. Around christmas they cover the park in lights and at Halloween they have a safe trick or treat night for a small cost.
A family favorite! My kids love it!
Such a great place to spend with kids while on vacation in Rapid City. Big enough to run and lots of things to keep their attention. Our son loves the train ride and all the climbing. Separate area for kids under 5 as well will smaller scale playground equipment.
The grandkids enjoyed it very much and I don't think we could have ridden the train enough. I love how you can move along as fast as you want to go and can take the time to let the kids really enjoy themselves. We go at least once a year.
We thought that we might spend an hour or so let the kids stretch, well almost 3 hours later our kids didnt want to leave! So much fun!
What a great thing to have in the Hills! free admission and so much to do with the kiddos. The little train is a nice touch and had my son with a learning disability so excited to see in action. Vey imaginative place
Must-see if you and your kids are fans of fairy tales.
Very nice park, my 7 year old spent nearly 4 hours running around and having fun.
Coolest free park ever. Fully fenced and barb wired so you can feel okay letting your older little ones roam a bit. Box for donations at entrance. This was a bigger hit than the 1880 train. Right up next to the reptile garden on our favorite part of SD vacation.
Love the upgrades you've made. Been going here for over a decade. Thanks for a lifetime of magic friends.
This place is magical. There is no better place to spend an afternoon in Rapid City. Your kids will love it and take a great nap afterwards. Great memories for people of all ages.
It looks good on the outside but up close its unkept AnD theres barbed wire everywhere
A marvelous place to take younger kids. Every kind of childhood cartoon and storybook character is represented here. It is a well maintained park but is run on donations so please be generous to keep this place open for future generations.
I've been coming to storybook island for 25 years. I try and make it there once a year for all the nostalgia. It's so much fun for the kids. There is all kinds of things to play on and little houses to go in. It's just a magical place to visit
A cute places, great area for little ones to run around but very crowded and some spots could use some TLC
Great way to have fun outside with little ones
It great to spend time with your kids
Pretty cool for what it is. Small but pretty cool to see childhood character's
It was a beautiful place. Cool to take a trip back and reminisce about old folk tales. donations are key to keeping this place up and running. Please donate, its worth it!
I usually love this place but today the mosquitoes are us up...we had to leave
Kids liked it (10 and under). Nice place. Free entry (donations). Good for a couple of hours of entertainment.
What an awesome place to take your young children. My daughter really loved this place. My boys didn't mind it either. Very cool place to visit. Especially since it is free.
Wonderful place. Great staff
Amazing! My daughter had the time of her life
Neet place for kids or the kid at heart
Great place for the family, although somewhat limited for toddlers. Elementary children will enjoy immensely. Cute characters throughout the park, and signs giving information for the historians out there.
Super cute family friendly park. The food and drinks are always good and reasonably priced. It’s a good fun, free activity for the family to go one, donations are always accepted and appreciated to help keep the park running for free. Around Christmas time the lights are always so beautiful and pretty, it’s 3 dollars for an entrance fee during Christmas (I suppose to help pay the power bill) and it is well worth it. It’s such a nice park to have here in Rapid City.
Went during the time when the Christmas lights were up. The wait to get in was probably 10-15 minutes as the line was very long. Once we got in the park the lights were very pretty. It's a pretty quick trip through the whole area but it was fun for the cost. Only downside is that the way it is set up forces everyone through the gift shop. I understand it is good for business, but it was very busy in there and frustrating that there wasn't a way to go around to leave.
Excellent place for children. Free. Very clean
It was so cute. The grandkids loved it.
Fun place kids love it but the mosquitoes! Literally! Clouds of them!
Great places to take the kids for lots of fun
What a great place!! Kids loved it, I wish there were more places like this around.
A marvelous place to take younger kids. Every kind of childhood cartoon and storybook character is represented here. It is a well maintained park but is run on donations so please be generous to keep this place open for future generations.
Generations of our family have enjoyed this park! The displays just keep getting better! Always something new!!!
It is a wonderfully delightful place for kids of all ages to run and play. There is a amount of various storybook characters.
Awesome park! I just wish someone would have said in a review to WEAR TONS OF INSECT REPELLENT! We were eaten up by mosquitos because of the sitting water. Maybe it’s something they should address. The metal slides were too hot for my kids to play on. Other than that we enjoyed it.
LOVE this place!!! VERY cool new musical addition!!! Only wish they were open a bit longer of the year.
Hadn't been there for years. Brought back childhood memories. Great place to take your kids to.
Fun place for young children. Very clean
Neat, fun and friendly place to take the kids if you’re in the area. Kids will love it especially if they know the characters. My daughter is six and she thought it was pretty cool. The park is free to the public with the option to donate.
I've been coming to storybook island for 25 years. I try and make it there once a year for all the nostalgia. It's so much fun for the kids. There is all kinds of things to play on and little houses to go in. It's just a magical place to visit
Nice to do with your kids, and you cant beat free. We always leave a donation. They have special holiday events as well. Christmas is the best with all the lights.
I took kids here and they had allot of fun something for all ages
Good place to take kids , best part is it's free
Fantastic! Makes you wonder why every city doesnt have parks like this.
Our preschoolers LOVE Storybook Island Field Trips! Keep the magic happening!
Fabulous free park for the younger kids to run around! Our 5 and 7 year olds loved it.
They need some drinking fountains inside the park. Otherwise it's a wonderful place!
Been coming here my whole life. It brings bacl memories
This place is wonderful!!! We visited South Dakota for 3 days. We came to this amazing wonderful park two days in a row. The best part is its FREE. They do have a train ride for $1,and snacks you can purchase inside the park. But there was plenty of things for my daughter to do.
This was an awesome experience for my two girls I will highly recommend this if you have young children.
Would like to give this park ten stars! Great place for toddlers to about eight year olds and lots of fun for adults who are with them. Spent 3.5 hours here with my two year old granddaughter and she still didn't want to leave. Thank you Rotary Club and sponsors of the park for a wonderful free morning shared with all my favorite storybook characters. This park is magical and shouldn't be missed if you have young children.
I have gone here since I was a wee little tot and I have always had fun here. I definitely recommend taking your kids here and enjoying a nice day out. Its free to visit, which is nice. 10/10
I Love Storybook Island. I Love Disney. So I can relive my childhood fun times while my kids get to have theirs. It's a free fairytale playground. Donations are asked for the upkeep and to keep it free. Of course they have things that cost money like train rides, bouncy house, carousel. But they really are affordable. Great place for locals and tourists alike. They do different events throughout their season so keep a look out. They also have a birthday party house.
Great place for little kids. Also great way to bring back childhood memories. Love all the status around the whole park.
Awesome day trip. The littles & the adults loved it!
It's free and the kids loved it
Amazing place for kids and adults who love being kids
This is a beautiful place to take small children...
Free to visit, but recommended donation. Kids ages 5 & 6 had a blast. Kids ages 11 & 9 had fun. * Will go back again * Could have spent more than 1 hour, kids loved running to different play areas and had fun using their imagination * Many different Storybook areas to see: Dr. Seuss, Winnie the Pooh * Train or Carousel ride $2/kid
Great free place for kids! Loved taking our kids here. It's open every year from about memorial day to labor day. Lots of things for kids to play on and around

I love this place. I grew up going there. I take my daughter every chance we are back home. From Florida 5 stars. ❤❤❤
Great place if you have young children
Great free themed park for little ones.
I have gone here since I was a wee little tot and I have always had fun here. I definitely recommend taking your kids here and enjoying a nice day out. Its free to visit, which is nice. 10/10
It was free which is amazing!!!! and the kids had a great time! Definitely someplace to remember!! Rapid City should be very proud of everyone who contributed to this amazing Park!!!
A favorite childhood memory. The place is still well kept and fun for kids! Hooray for Rapid City!
My 7 year old had a blast, even if it was cold. Thanks for a free place for tourists with kids to visit.
So many photo opportunities of your kids here. It is also surprising how accessible most of the park is.
Okay, fine. I hate this phrase, but the nostalgia mafia came in the night, blindfolded me, put me in the back of a van, carried me kicking and screaming to an abandoned warehouse, refused to feed me for a week, and threaten to harm those I care for the most if I don't just say it: this place is magical. Came often as a kid and now I'm preparing my own kids to have the nostalgia mafia kidnap them in twenty years or so. Just go.
So much fun. A must see for small children.
Remember going there as a kid and plan to take my kids. Just wholesome, fun, and affordable.
Clean, fun park. Brings back many memories from my childhood. Very pleased to take my children there for them to enjoy the experience as much as I remember nearly 30 years ago.
Nice park with a variety of settings from many children's stories. Many interactive sites. Places for the parents to sit and watch. Rotary international funded it. Donations accepted. Neat train to take kids around the park.
Good place to let kids blow off steam
Super cute family friendly place. The prices are very reasonable if you want to get a snack or do lunch. Cute place for the kids to play. The grounds are well kept. Such an awesome park for the family, would highly recommend. Beautiful lights around Christmas time, too.
Storybook Island is a true historic gem of Rapid City and the Black Hills. I visited often when I was a child and now my own kids have the same luxury... All because the community helps keep the facilities alive and growing. Holiday events here have become a great tradition and the entrance fees are always fair. Consider giving a donation if you can!
Love taking my kids here!!
Great place to take the kids. New this year is a merry go round
It could be fun, if you can get past the disgusting bathrooms
Amazing free city park. A super cool walk through the fairy tales is my childhood. Great for kids of all ages, and adults too! The train is $2 and a lot of fun for little kids to tour the park. Great picnic spot too! The park across the street is perfect for flying kites.
My kids have awesome memories of this place. They wanted to go as teens just to remember how fun it was for them when they were younger
This place is great! My girls had such a good time exploring and could hardly decide what to do next! Wish we lived closer so we could go all the time!
If you are on a trip to The black hills with kids, this is the most amazing place to let the kids burn off energy !!!! :) make sure to ride the mini train.
My kids absolutely loved this!! I wish they had something like this in Louisiana!!
It's an amazing place to let the kids run and explore while using Thier imagination. Perfect place for ice cream on a summer day or hot chocolate on a crisp winter evening.
I couldn't believe how much fun this was for no admission cost. My 3 year old had the time of her life. We arrived early and encountered no crowds. We would absolutely return.
A must stop while in Rapid City with young children!
Kids love this place and adults can love it too when it comes to Disney classic characters
The kids love going here. There is so much to do, we take from 2yr to 10yrs with us and they all enjoy it. It's free...you can give donations.
If you've got kid(s) up to 12 or so years old, do them the favor of taking them to Storybook! It is a gem of Rapid City and also free. Storybook runs on donations and proceeds from the gift shop. $1 donation per person is the suggested admission. You'll be listening to Disney songs as you traverse the small park visiting Peter Pumpkin's Pumpkin, gaze at the Three Men in a Tub, chuckle at Jack sitting next to Jill at the foot if their hill. There is also, Winnie the Pooh, Cat in the Hat, and Wizard of Oz. The musical station on the south east corner of the property was a highlight for me. We also rode the 1930s carousel ($2 per person) and the train ride ($2 per person). There was a bounce house as well but we didn't go on it because, it too cost money. You exit through a gift shop with candy and magnets for sale. Plan to spend at least 90-120 minutes at Storybook Island. Relish the time with your kids here!
Do you have kids? Do they enjoy fun? Do they have emotions? Yes? Then your children will absolutely love going to this long-cherished spot in Rapid City. A free play park operated solely on donations, this place was a childhood passtime for me and now it is for my kids alike. Storybook themed attractions including Disney, Grimm's, and others, your kids are sure to recognize their favorite characters and giggle their shoes off while they push the buttons and turn the knobs on the old train or fire engine. Fun, free, and your kids will smile. Can it get much better? Unless you're a troll living under a bridge. Then you may not enjoy this place. No goats to eat. 0/10 if you're a troll.
This is an amazing park! Free entry and even the train, carousel and bounce house are really cheap. Aside from those things this park is worth coming to on its own. There are age appropriate activities for kids from about 1 to probably 13. Lots of climbing structures and familiar characters, even a few nostalgic characters that only the adults knew. This was a highlight of our trip to Rapid City and the black hills, the kids are still talking about it. Thanks to the Rapid City Rotary for your dedication to a quality park and a wonderful place for families to spend time together!
Very nice and fun for my kids they enjoyed it very much
This place is awesome! Free, very intertaining. My children and grandchildren had a great time.
Amazing free park! Best for preschool and early grades.
My boys love it! Especially the train and carousel!
Always a fun adventure for both my kids. Free to get in... Mostly all free stuff. Train ride costs, but priceless Joy from the kids. Outdoor fun for the kids.
Best place to let the little ones run off energy! You can't beat the FREE price tag!
Very kid friendly. Maybe getting a little dated .
Wonderful place for kids to explore and play. They have many slides and houses and places to climb. My little guy loves using his imagination every time we go.
While the characters are of varying quality, the park offers a lot of fun and FREE play for kids, including a substantial area for young kids. While the gift shop is horrendously over-priced, do make a hearty donation to keep this place around for a long time.

Calm environment where kids are safe to run and play
Takojas loved it especially the Choo Choo Train
Wonderful free place to take children in the summer. During Christmas time the park is covered with Christmas lights. It is a small donation to walk through and take in the magic. There is a gift shop, carousel, train and birthday house.
Great place to bring my Daughter and grandchildren, we brought our kids there thirty five years ago.
Love visiting here when we visit rapid city.
My girls (8 & 5 yrs old) absolutely loved this place! Their imaginative minds were in heaven running from one story scene to the other pretending. There were plenty of benches to sit on, but it was really fun to go through the areas with them. It really is free, but we also paid a few dollars per person to ride the train. We spent about 2 hours here. It's definitely worth checking out if your near Rapid City and have little kids.
I have been busy for a couple weeks now and when i saw the christmas lights at Story Book Island it made me stop park and even though it was cold i was able to go take pics and enjoyed the scenery felt like a kid again. Beautiful place to go to for children and adults!!!
This place is wonderful for children and it's amazing that it is free! There were a few things within the park that you had to pay for (carousel, train, bounce houses) but they weren't an unreasonable price.
My kids love this place. Lots of room to run around and play!
What a fun place

Great place. My opinion, needs touch ups but my kids dont notice and they have a great time!
This was the most amazing place to bring back our own childhood memories. I played a game with my 20+ year old daughters to see which of us knew the most stories that were represented. Children where having fun everywhere from digging in the sandbox, riding on the carousel, to riding the train. The park is great for getting kids into story telling as they ask about snow white's house to who is the rabbit? (Oh the rabbit is thumper or maybe from little brother movie). If you get a chance to visit Storybook land, do it.
Great place for kids. Dad had fun too. Very hot out so no slides could be used because they were like a frying pan. But awesome overall.
I love story book island. I went as a child and my children love it. However, today my best friends niece and family were kicked out because she had a service dog. The manager actually asked an illegal question about her disability as well. I expected more from a place that is supposed to provide joy to children. Very disappointed.
Amazing and worth going to! Its free to get in and its only $2 so ride their train or play in the bounce house
Very nice family park and very entertaining. Great exercise!!
Wonderful place to take the kiddos. Nostalgia is real
Great place to take the little ones
Very fun! Kids had a great time checking everything out. Definitely recommend
Great free place to take children. Some displays need paint and maintenance
Amazing place kids loved it, great for all ages
Free and a cute place to spend a few hours. Definitely can tell it's been around a while with how things look. But, like I said, free and fun!
My grandsons enjoyed this play area very much.
Great place to take kids. Nice to have a free attraction that is well taken care of. Slushies are great too!
Great time bringing my Grandchildren to Storybook Island is very special to me.
The family had a wonderful time! Very well kept up. Will be back :)
It looks to be a entertaining place for the children to have a good time at its new location
Family friendly to spend alot of time at
This was a very unique park. The little one loved it.
We all love Storybook Island! No matter your age, you will find a special spot you love at this unique park. So many classic fairy tales depicted along with more current stories will keep everyone enjoying the whole time you are there. Love the train and carousel!
It was super fun for kids of all ages! Even the older kids that were between 14-17 had a blast. This is a super great free destination for anyone.
A great place to take the kids. Old fashioned fun they will actually enjoy.
Wonderful experience for our 6 year old granddaughter.

This was a great park to bring the kiddos l, we all had a great time!
Great place to burn energy off your kids.
Little kids think it’s Disneyland and the place is free. Definitely worth a stop for a good time with kids
