This Park belongs to the category of Park.
My parents brought me to this park all the time as a kid and I get to do the same with my kids. It’s still fun and relaxing to visit for my whole family.
Looking around the park to find the best place to have our wedding ceremony. We loved the views. Just wish we knew how to go about it.
Coming in to MT. PLEASANT ITS RIGHT AS COME OVER THE BRIDGE ON THE LEFT NOT TO FAR AT ALL FROM RED U HAVE TO GO TO REDS BAR AND GRILL AWESOME
The kids enjoyed our nature walk to the park. The park is designed for multiple ages, however, the swings are only for babies and toddlers.
Beautiful urban garden
Great place to walk, relax, or play. Tons of beautiful flowers and trees.
The city needs to have better lawn care parts of the lawn were definitely missed.
My wife and I love taking walks here. We also love the flowers.
Great place to bike, jog, or exercise of any activity.
Wife likes as nice place to walk and not be in traffic. Has plenty of flowers and trees. Nice little pond with geese and ducks in/on it. Decent parking sometimes lot full.
Beautiful park - quiet in the mornings for a walk or run. I loved spending my vacation nearby and walking through the park in my way for coffee and breakfast. Lots of workout stations around the perimeter for a guided workout if you so choose. Overall very clean and well tended. Lots of benches for relaxing.
Beautiful park! Scenic and tranquil, a must visit place in Charleston.
Good one.
Home of the first American Memorial Day. Great park. Lovely gardens.
Excellent park Very serene The natural landscaping is the best thing Very spacious Family friendly
Great place to walk around. They also have events here that are fun to go to.
Nice park , but it does get hot. Better to go in early evening or morning. Lots of geese, so beware of the droppings. Off leash dog park on side street, near main park. Again not much shade there.
Very large park -multiple scenes -Large gazzeebo -trails and ponds
Great place to workout.
Beautiful public park with great walking trails. Good loop to road bike around
Lovely place to spend time with family and nature
This was a nice, fairly small park that my wife and I visited on a Thursday evening just after 7PM. Coincidently, the park is closed to through traffic on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6PM-8PM (I believe for March through September). We had no trouble parking (for free), but there was nothing super exciting about this park as a visitor to the Charleston area. It would be good for a run or bike ride while it is closed to through traffic as it has an oval shaped road around the park itself.
Great place to get some exercise. There is a fitness loop, open grassy areas and shaded walking path
Very nice place to get in my runs on vacation and the parcourse was very cool, don't think we have anything like that in my city.
Pretty. Fun to walk around
Great place to walk, workout or just unwind. Plenty of history here. There was a zoo here many years ago. The area has been well maintained for several years now and is beautiful especially when everything is in bloom.
I love having picnics in the park
Absolutely love this park. Great place for a picnic, jog, bike ride, roller blading, group events.
Grew up around this area and the park is still beautiful. They are redoing the Gazebo to be able to use it during the spring summer and fall months for activities and festivals concerts Etc. Definitely worth going and walking around and enjoying the beautiful area and the outdoors
Perfect weather for a day in this beautiful park.
This is a gorgeous park for wedding photos! My friend got married and had her photos here and they turned out AMAZING! The parking was a bit tight but there is off street parking and if you park far the walk is amazing! The day out there was beautiful seeing all the photographers capture everyone's moment and the beautiful scenery!
Large park with well maintained landscaping. Blooming flowers and trees throughout, with a nice pond and fountain in the middle. Paths are clean and easy to walk or bike on. Benches are throughout, some sunny and some shaded. Some dog bag stations along the path would be nice.
nice place
Pretty local park.
Beautiful area to spend with family.
Good for dogs
Love exercising at the park, for the most part it's always a pleasant place to be, but some of the cars drive too fast.
Was there for a function the park is really pretty you have to bring your own chairs at the parking was on-street parking but it was okay
Great place to enjoy a stroll or a bike ride, play on the playground or basketball court, or feed some ducks.
I love the beautiful flowers and the fountain at the back. It's really cool that you can rent a bike for a little while, too.
Multi-purpose park that welcomes cyclists, runners, walkers, children, seniors, etc. Love walking this park during my lunch break. Well shaded. Good people and tree watching. Next door to The Citadel, handsome runners. Lots of pedestrians walking during lunch hours, feels safe. It has pretty, mature trees. Little pond that usually has ducks, our children love to feed them. Good park for all ages. Dogs must be leashed. If your a tourist, I recommend you stop by The Citadel...lovely campus. Vehicle park parking. Olmsted inspired.... Charleston budget.
Kids love feeding those fat ducks....the ducks get so excited they fall while running towards us because we have food
Great family place!
Bring your bread. Ducks are addictive. Great free Summer movie days for whole family. FREE FREE.
Romantic place to either have a nice picnic outside (the park is always manicured) or go for a bike ride. The track around the park is 1 mile long.
I've always said I wish the trees can talk. The stories they could tell. This park is right outside of the Citadel, the former home of the rainbows baseball team and the site for Walk MS many years. Where else can you find huge live oaks, a beautiful place for picnic and a duck pond all at one time.
Even though the pond smells because of all the birds, there is lovely walking trails, beautiful old oaks, and pretty flowers (most of the time). You might see a turtle or a squirrel also. Just wish the birds would stay on that island.
Huge park with many scenic trails and awesome trees. The bridge over the lake is a great spot to relax and take in the view.
Great place to spend an afternoon.
Gorgeous park with amazing landscaping, lots of green space, walking paths and a really nice bike loop under the canopy of the mature oaks. We love to bike and picnic here. My favorite park in town!
Such a beautiful place. Can’t wait to bring my daughters here. Great place for a break from work to relax
Love taking the children to feed the ducks and climb the oak trees. This is the best time of year to visit, cool, camelias are in bloom, just bring bug spray for no see ums and bread for the ducks. Great place to picnic, take a walk, work out, ride your bike.
Nice place for a stroll. Beautiful oak trees and flowers in the spring and summer.
Prettiest and biggest park on the peninsula.
I thank you for everything God bless you
Fantastic park. Lots of doggos. Great for exercise. Lots of trees. Nice fountain. I LOVE THE DUCKS AND GEESE AND THE OCCASIONAL SEAGULL. 10/10
This is such a beautiful place to walk around or visit to have family photos done. There are so many incredible spots!
Great place to kick it or run it or whatever
It was raining but a great park
Nice where Denmark Vessy statue is and where memorial day started .aka as dedication day
It's a beautiful serenity, and peaceful place to visit. It's got water fountain in a pool where ducks and birds frolic. It's scene is big enough for walks or to just spend time to relax and/or have a private picnic with your loved ones. It was my first visit and I'll be back for more. ♡♡♡
Great place for a walk.
Hampton Park is a large, multi-purpose outdoor space that is great for families, cyclists, runners, and anyone wanting to enjoy some time in nature. There are two loops around the park - one for walking, the other for cycling and/or running. Ducks, geese, and sometimes swans frequent the main pond. There is also a circuit course with about 16 stations for those wanting to get additional body weight training in. Several water fountains, though know that in the summer, the water will be quite warm!
BEAUTIFUL!!! Love coming here!! So peaceful and a great place to walk, run, ride a bike, have a picnic and so much more.
Huge, beautiful park with lots of nice areas to picnic or just hang out. Seeing the ducks there was cool but the place would be better if those stupid geese weren't crapping all over the place by the water fountain. Seems like maintenance hadn't pressure washed the area in awhile but then again maybe those geese caught a bad case of the flu..idk
Beautiful park with many nice paths to jog or walk on. Overall extremely well maintained and quite pleasant.
Gorgeous park with lots of walking trails. Loved the water feature and lake in the center
Charleston’s hidden gem and best kept secret. Beautiful all year long. Fun for the whole family!
To say this park is beautiful would be an understatement. I could stay here all day.
Looked like a nice place but i was delivering good so it was confusing.
Quite and saree, a nice place too run, walk and to ride a bike.
Nice park considering where it's at
Beautiful park in downtown Charleston. Wide open spaces and walking, cycling trails. There are places to picnic and rest. Public restrooms were very clean. They close the streets off to car traffic on Saturday mornings making it a perfect place to ride bikes safely.
Great family fun
Beautiful, well kept park
Beautiful area
Large park with room to enjoy the shade, rent a bike, or just enjoy a nice stroll. It's away from downtown but the trip is worth it.
Great, big park with a ton of space to spread out. I love wandering under the beautifully landscaped grounds. The central lake is a perfect place to check out the ducks. This was also a fantastic place to see the eclipse and sunsets. The mile long road around it is perfect for running, biking, or just walking.
Great safe location to go running or biking and nearby and a play area for children. There's also a giant field across the street Were you can play lacrosse, football, or soccer. On the other side of the field and next to the children's play area there is a basketball court with the 4 goals. There are workout devices all throughout the park and a place where you can feed ducks and other wild birds. Definitely a place worth looking into for a wedding location as I've seen a lot of weddings conducted here due to the beauty of the location. Surprisingly this is also a great 1st date location.
Really nice park to walk and exercise in. There are excellent walking paths all through the park with exercise equipment to use as you run through the park. There are plenty of places to sit and have a picnic, along with pavilions to get out of the sun and maybe have a get together. A lot of parking available and bikes to rent from Holy Spokes if you want to get somewhere else in the city.
There's a nice paved path extending from the lock in the river and a pretty little waterfall where the river divides. It's very popular with joggers walkers and bicyclers. The park is safe and has lovely trees
Nice park in historical part of Charleston
In Charleston peninsula lies this quaint park. There is enough place for parking on street or some parking spaces. A nice walk around the central pond makes it a refreshing spot for picnics.
Beautiful park. I've been coming here for years. My husband grew up here and I see why it's such a treat to live in Charleston.
Very nice and quiet park. The parking is limited for the size of the park. The walking/ running paths are dirt and fine gravel. There is a paved biking path, but it is not protected from car traffic. Also be aware of excessive poop around the water from ducks.
Childhood memories of wonderful times still living on
Great park with lots of green space and beautiful trees, flowers, and more.
Clean! Free parking! Picnic tables!
My thinking spot. Luv this place
Green!! And a great place for a walk or a bike ride. (I do laps on my bike there often )
Really beautiful park. Will go back for another look for sure!
Outstanding Park!
This park is exquisite, breezy, and full of magical trees and flowers
Nice park, great wildlife, places to sit in the shade and just enjoy.
Great place to take your girlfriend on a nice walk through the park. Beautiful fountain and pond with nice ducks and cute swallows. There are a bunch of nasty geese though.
Quiet and peaceful along with a beautiful landscape
This place is gorgeous and a great place to run. My wife and I used all the exercise equipment and had a great workout.
Cool breeze, children friendly, basketball court, baseball field and bathroom facilities. CHEAP FUN!!
Never had a bad time here. My wife and i got married under one of the oaks a few years back and it's always special for us to hang our here.
Very nice park
Beautiful park! A nice park to walk
My grandparents used to live on President Street and as a kid my cousins and I would walk down to Hampton Park. It was so nice taking a walk down memory lane. My daughter enjoyed it as well! Very relaxing!
Hampton Park is one of my favorite public parks in town! As a Charleston family, children, and senior portrait photographer, it offers the perfect backdrop to explore and create a wide variety of beautiful images! From the huge live oak trees, to the knarly crape myrtle trunks, to the fields of flowers, to the long walkways, to the white gazebos, to the amazing duck pond...there's something fun in this park everywhere you look!!!
Not too impressed the water had agli and some dead ducks bird poop all over walkway.
Beautiful park and bike ride area
A great park that needs the City of Charleston to run off Canada 's large birds that make walking around very messy plus the water ponds need a lot of work to get the water clear and safe. We loved the selection of hundreds of year old trees. And we want the construction going on there to be speeded up and finished in New York speed.
Beautiful city park. Great for walks and photography.
Got married here under a beautiful aged tree couldn't of had a better ceremony so beautiful here.
Rain or shine, I love this place. It’s become a staple for me calling Charleston “home.” You have the outer track (1 mile around) to safely walk, run, bike, rollerblade. Or the inside trails to mix things up. A fountain and beautiful gardens of flowers. The amazing array of trees is what I love most. It’s by far my favorite place to do laps. Also just noticed they have a summer series: live music, food trucks, bring coolers, etc. Love it!
Loved it since I was a child. Still wonderful!
Old beautiful pork! Great spot!!!
Peaceful part of the city surrounded by homes from different eras.
Such a BEAUTIFUL park. Had a great walk with my friends and her dog. Dog/family friendly.
It was fun!
Beautiful park to just walk around in
Very relaxing, serene environment.
The latest improvements are wonderful and definitely worth a visit.
Such a beautiful park! A friend of mine told me she got married here and nows shes got me thinking about doing the same! Swans and flowers and the fresh charolsten air!
Very nice and relaxing
This is a great park! Lots of area to walk or ride a bike. A couple cute ponds with lots of ducks! Plenty of shaded areas for a quiet picnic. Also many beautiful locations to take pictures.
It has been years since I have been to Hampton Park. I ate at a restaurant nearby with a few friends so we decided to take a walk to the park. I had forgotten how pretty it is and all of the trails that it offers to walk. It was a nice day so several people were out there jogging, riding bikes, walking with their kids and walking their dogs. It was a nice family feeling environment. The houses around the peripheral of the park are very nice. It is a great place to take a nice walk. There's a huge fountain in the center with a lot of Canadian geese. The walkway and bridge around it are very cool but you have to watch out for the landmines that the Canadian geese leave.
Beautiful.
Yay park!
One of the most gorgeous spots in Charleston. I'm continually impressed by the folks who manage the planting; there's always something flowering no matter what time of year. Great place to run, hang out, take photos, and appreciate nature.
Nice place to run. The dirt track is long and soft! You can run on the perimeter of the park too.
Nice park, nice walk path
Beautiful park. Love the birds and giant "climbing trees" But people need to watch their kids, too many just screaming bloody murder. Not to mention the 6 unabashed begging homeless people, one of which, unprovoked, ran up to me and told me "F*** YOU!" while I was holding my 2 year old daughter.
Such a Beautiful place. The groundskeepers do a FANTASTIC job!!!
Beautiful place and filled with history.
Beautiful park. It’s a wonderful place to take pictures or to exercise.
Peaceful spot to eat lunch or go for a walk. Very good area for photos. Many weddings have been performed here
Had the experience of my life here. Beautiful park. Ate a wonderful dinner in the top of a big oak tree. All seemed well until the next day when I was covered from head to toe in chigger bites. Tree climbers, beware!
Relaxing place to be. Beautiful
Great place to feed the ducks and chill.
Hampton Park is a wonderful experience you can see the stars at night so beautiful plus the sweet smelling flowers nice place to come to with your girl or boy friend
Had so much fun
A very nice maintained park. Has some ponds, gazeboos and bike paths and lots of room and shade. There is a playground close by too.
Probably my favorite park in downtown Charleston. This fairly large park is beautiful year-round and my favorite place to take my dog on a long walk, go for a bike ride, enjoy a picnic or come with a book to read. I enjoy that is is a little off the beaten path so you’ll mostly find locals here as it’s not really a tourist destination. I generally bring a blanket to sit in the grass but there are plenty of benches and tables as well all throughout the park. Also as someone who enjoys photography as a hobby this can be a great spot to snap some beautiful nature shots.
Such a lovely respite in an urban setting! The trails and landscaping are very nice. Whether you want to sit and relax under the trees or walk and enjoy nature, Hampton Park is a nice break from the hubbub of life!
A hidden gem in the city of Charleston. Surprising many locals don't even know about it. Beautiful park for a picnic or even a family photoshoot.
So relaxing
Great walking/relaxing park. A quiet slice of nature.
Favorite park since early childhood!
This is a beautiful park. I has grand oaks, pond, and gazebo. I highly recommend it for unwinding and connecting with nature.
Beautiful park. Perfect for a romantic walk, an evening jog, or pushing the baby stroller.
Beautiful park in downtown Charleston with trails, bridges, ponds, and places for picnics. Lots of trees and nicely landscaped.
terrific place to capture candid photos of yourself and your family. It has dedicated parking free of charge and is in a very safe place.
Love the patient. Well taken care of and trees are beautiful. Love the pond and bridges.
Right in the suburban area of Charleston sits this wonderful park. It is very well kept. There are blooming flowers and interesting trees to see at all times of the year.
This is a huge park! Very beautiful. Lots of bike paths and benches. Very serene
Nice place for a picnic lunch!
I love this park for picnicking, events exercising and the playground.
Great location for family pictures
Love this park. Good place to run or just sit.
The ducks have gone a little mad. But still a beautiful place that I thoroughly enjoy.
Great place to relax and take some amazing photos.
Great for close up photos of birds
