We've got the reviews of people who bought the products and services of Cowpens National Battlefield (Park) in the area close to South Carolina.
At this moment this firm receives a score of 4.7 stars over 5 and the score has been calculated on 459 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is nearly the highest, and it is based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we may conclude that the valuation is very credible. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well with the service, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to give feddbacks when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Park is classified in the category of National park.
Nice 4 mile walk! If you’re in the area it’s a great place to get a little workout in! The bathrooms at the visitors center were very clean. They also have a little display on the history of the battle field ! ! Very well kept grounds !
Cowpens is a beautifully kept Battlefield Park. It is a peaceful and beautiful trail to walk. The small museum is very informative with some great videos about the battle and the events surrounding that time. I highly recommend a visit.
A wonderful place to visit. You can walk or ride a bike. Facilities are well maintained and the staff is friendly. Watch the short movie and you'll learn how the city earned its name. Learn how the brave rag tag soldiers won this amazingly quick battle. And there is no charge!
It showed different parts of the wars I didn't learn about in school
.great people awesome place
Awesome historical site. My 9 and 11 year old loved it. We studied about this site for a while before going so it was a little easier for them to understand once we got there. The presentation inside is really nice and helped us to understand the events that led up to Cowpens.
I had so much fun walking around a historic place
Movie was well done. Very informative. Worth a visit.
Must see, well taken care of a national treasure.
Beautiful place to visit and learn some history
Very nice
A quiet and wonderful place to hime, reflect and give thanks for the sacrifices made for us to have the U.S. as our land of liberty and home. It is impeccable and the staff are wonderful, too. Pet friendly on the grounds.
Amazing! Great staff
Awesome place. Loved the reenactment! The men posed for a picture with our son. He was very excited! Nice nature trail.
Wonderful historic location, well maintained by a knowledgeable staff.
Excellent museum, the park is practically abandoned, which leave a mysterious and almost spooky feeling. The landscape remains intact and looks much like it did during the battle. Interpretation is good, staff was approachable and welcomed questions,. The bookstore was underwhelming, but it's the NPS, so I understand the budget cuts and impact to our national heritage site.
Great walking area
Nice free guided tour available that is about an hour long. Good information and very nice walking paths.
nice place to visit
Beautiful area, nice trails, interesting mini museum
Pretty cool place. It was pivotal in the Revolutionary War
A real treat. I love to rollerblade throughout.
Great National Historic site. Nice presentation and enjoyable wall through a Revolutionary Battlefield.
smaller than most NB's but very nice and the staff and volunteers could.not be more helpful or friendly they are very good with children and the Jr ranger workbook worth the trip
Great would love to come back and see an enactment!
I thought it was really interesting. I saw a sign posted that they have cool events going on throughout the year. Pretty cool!
A great experience. Everyone should make an effort to see these historical places.
Nice, quiet, peaceful loop walk. My wife and I come here often. Some of the open space and some of the wooded space would make for a wonderful disc golf course! (Just a suggestion)
Revolutionary War battlefield with a great visitors center
The staff were very helpful here. And very informative.
Beautiful place
Coolest warfield and museum. Watch the movie and walk around. Relive the battle.
My Mom and me were visiting the Battlefields of Cowpens and King's Mountain in 2012, both on the same day, and went here first. The staff were very friendly and one of them just KNEW everything. The kind of guy who knew off the bat the answer to your questions and seemed to ENJOY working there. The film was short and to the point and the museum was first class if small. We were both very impressed and felt very good about the Battlefield. Wonderful place to visit and learn. The Battle itself is an important battle that also showed just how Daniel Morgan earned the praise of many military historians. Morgan used Tarleton own disdain for militia against him and carried out a masterpiece of a double envelopment that would have impressed Hannibal himself.
History! Great place.
Was first time here. Very beautiful park. Learned my 5 great uncle was in the battle of Kings MT. He was a Col in the Army a hero in the Revolutionary War and signed the Mecklenburg declaration of independence. Wow very cool.
Amazing. You need to read about the battle prior to coming here to get the significance of the terrain. It is astonishing what occurred here.
Great place for the history and a lot of see. Especially recommended the anniversary festival that occurs in mid-January for a lot of presentations and demonstrations a lot of folks will appreciate.
Nice place.
If you are interested in American history, you should stop by! The video is very interesting, the story of someone who was there. There is also an interesting recap of the Southern campaign of the Revolutionary war, mapping major sites to put it in perspective. Don't miss the trail and, if you are lucky, a ranger led trail walk is most interesting!
Great day trip.
Absolutely a beautiful Park to visit with a lot of history, and honestly, very little is known about this battlefield outside of the major names like Yorktown and Lexington, but on January 17, 1781, took place in the latter part of the Southern Campaign of the American Revolution and of the Revolution itself. It became known as the turning point of the war in the South, part of a chain of events leading to Patriot victory at Yorktown. The Cowpens victory was won over a crack British regular army, and brought together strong armies and leaders who made their mark on history.
Lovely place great place for first date
We love coming here! We bring a picnic & enjoy the battlefield & they have a new movie which we really liked. We brought our great grandchildren here in 2017 & they loved the Junior Ranger program & got badges!
Beautiful peaceful wild life all over range was very kind
Had a great time Ranger was very helpful answering questions
It's so beautiful and neat! Not allot to look at but the trails are so nice and well kept!
I'm giving it 4 stars because I thought there would be more too it. The movie was very informative and we were lucky to be there during a live fire demonstration with muskets. Although there was a pivotal battle fought here, there isn't much to see in the fields. But by all means go see the place because it's only a few hours to see most everything
Awesome
Today Cowpens National Battlefield had live reenactment of a Revolutionary War Camp and Black Powder Gun Rifle Shooting Display. The reenactors gave in-depth history lessons of what happened during the war: way of life, medical practices and entertainment for revolutionary era's young and old. This was a great living history experience that I would definitively like to experience again.
Good place if you like history, wanna walk the trails, go for a picnic or even if you are a cyclist and just ride around the tour road. If you do just the tour road it's 3 miles but if you add in the welcome center, go around the picnic area and add in where the Scruggs house is then it's about 4.5 miles.
I wished I lived closer...It was so informative and fun...I love the trail and the history behind it.
Nice way to remember what America is all about and the principles and original ideas of the Founding Fathers. Lot of men died on these Revolutionary battlefields, so enjoy watching MSNBC and reading the New York Times but remember- men that used guns gave you the right to whine about men with guns.
important revolutionary war battleground that helping tilt the victory in Yorktown. Good video, but small park.
Neat place to visit and learn about the Revolutionary War. Never cared for history while growing up, but they make it interesting. Especially when they mention so many cities I've been to. You have to visit the old house too!
Great park, beautiful scenery good for running or walking.
An interesting place for a half-day visit. Watch the film at the visitor center and then walk the short battlefield trail.
My wife's grandfathers cousin General Daniel Morgan fought in this battle
Ranger Ruland is awesome!
Interesting to see. Historical place from revolutionary war.
The staff is awesome
I loved this historic site and our group visit was very memorable.
The staff are so informative! You can watch movies, go hiking, and go to special events. Definitely will be back
This was worth the trip in every way. How wonderful to learn more about our Nation’s history and celebrate a victory as well. Cowpens, so named because it was fought on cow fields, is a well kept National Park. You can start your stay watching a short 18 minute video about the video. It is kid friendly in case you are concerned. It will inform you of what you need to know about the battle of Cowpens in case you did not read ahead of time. After that there is a wonderful, one mile walk throughout the battlefield. You will see various wildlife. We were hoping for wild turkey but never saw any. The park has markers to tell you what you are looking at but it is not filled with the statues that you are used to seeing in the rest of the South. Just one big one in the entryway and a small gated off one at the end. As you leave take time to notice the Yeoman Farmer’s house. He and his wife, who both lived into their 80’s lived there with their 11 children! Well worth the visit. It was a relaxing, educational day. Now on to King’s Mountain, unless you just came from there.
Peaceful place with a 1 mile loop where the battle took place. Visitors Center with video and exhibits (some were out of order). Enjoyed the 1.5 hours I spent there.
Interesting historical place. The videos shown in the visitors center give a very informative account of the battle of Cowpens, which makes the walking tour of the battlefield much more interesting.
Hadn't been here before, but definitely plan on going back!!! We got there late in the day so we didn't have much time to look around, but we will go back and spend the day there!! Awesome history!!
It's wonderful touching history...
Love this place. Really takes you back to the revolutionary war days. The trails are great and something very fun to do on the weekend.
Little known Revolutionary War battle but this was the turning point of the war in the south and lead directly to our ultimate victory at Yorktown. This is hallowed ground and should be enjoyed by all in the area and those passing through. The battle trail down the Green River Road is a window to 1781. The park rangers are very knowledgeable and helpful.
This is a great half-day trip. There is a small museum, an 18 minute video and a 20 minute video. There is a walking path (1 mile) that takes you on a tour of the battlefield.
Great place to walk, run, ride bikes. Pet friendly.
Very interesting walk and video on the hour
Great place to visit with my children who enjoy learning about history and earning Junior Ranger badges along the way! The visitor center movie was excellent and even held my 4-year-old's attention the entire time! It was a little rainy the day of our visit, but we still found plenty to do!
This was a BEAUTIFUL, soulful experience!
Lot of history, love this play.
Great place to reconnect with history.
Be sure to take a guided tour if it is available. What a great history lesson. Easy walk
An out of the way gem. Really important part of US history that is not well taught. NPS does s great job.
Very interesting!! I learned a lot. Kids would love it.
I really wish that visitors to "OUR" (all of ours, collectively) would respect the facilities and property. Graffiti, trash, and people talking very loudly on their cell phones while tour groups are near them are quite ridiculous. Some of these places are sacred ground, and contain human remains, and it's a shame that they're not treated as such.
Paved walking trails. Educational videos that hold your attention. Very nice staff.
Small but interesting exhibit in the visitors center with a good film. Very friendly staff and nice gift shop
Nice place
Talked tha young man at visitor center about this battlefield it was a revolutionary battle fought here SC in the southern campaign. 960 Americans lost their lives here fighting for our freedom which we won. Also learned that there was over 600 other battles fought in SC. That's something I was never taught in school. Will go back tomorrow to explore the battlefield tomorrow
A place to learn about the battle. Not much to see but fields since that is what the landscape was during the battle. Hiking trails throughout
Great history preserved
Best ever.
We loved it
Always neat to see old sights like this. The trails have different signs that showcase the various locations from both the revolutionaries and British sides. It was cool and informative. Bring good walking shoes though. And plenty of bug spray and sunscreen.
Nice place full of good people and history
Excellent historical olace
Google lost another review. If you want a park that has lots of history and occasional reenactments, but won't kill your knees going up and down hills, Cowpens is it. A good visitors center and really friendly rangers and staff.
A great place to visit and go for a long walk enjoying nature or bike ride with friends or family around the bike trails. Beautiful hardwoods and pines and projects to recreate the landscape of many years ago.
Beautiful place to walk dogs and learn history
If you love Revolutionary history, Cowpens needs to be one of your Top five stops, 20 minutes of battle and the British Rule began it's decent into history. Their Southern campaign began to in ravel.
Historic Battlefield of the Revolutionary War. Very scenic place to walk.
So interesting. The area is well kept, and the staff is friendly.
The relics of the war are gone. There's an old cabin on the property that was interesting. There's a path of the battle that can be followed and with a little imagination, you can feel the battle come to life in your mind. There was once a light production that one could watch and get an understanding of how the battle played out, but this was not viewable during my visit. The gift shop was excessively overpriced on some items; $24.95 for a coffee mug!
Although there is not a ton to see, there is a very nice walking trail with occasional signs that have information regarding the battle. Walking the trail, reading all the information and letting our kids explore a bit took roughly 1-1.5 hours.
Knowledge is power. Had a great time visitingvand the park personnel were great. Will go back in January for the annual event.
Been here like 4 or 5 times at most, loved the old trails and even watched a fireworks display back in 1995, very noisy and fun too, never will forget Jack Roper being there too .
Wonderful experience for us, we will return.
Great place to stop for revolutionary war history. There is a drive around tour of the battlefield and there is a small theatre inside the building where you can watch a short film of how the battle happened.
Beautiful to see.
Well trimmed and manicured paths making it easy to get around.
Great place to walk
Very knowledgeable staff. Wonderfully presented information. Quoted hanging signage a good read. So worth a stop.
So glad our national Park recognizes the importance of our Revolutionary ancestors. Everyone should learn how hard they worked to give us our Freedom
I come here quite often. I'm very big on the Revolutionary War. When I do come here, I clear my mind and let my thoughts carry me away. Once I get to a certain point on the field, I will stop and close my eyes and listen. I do believe you can still feel the presents of our incredible heroes on this field. Incredible feeling! Cowpens is truly a gem.
Very interesting if you are a history lover. People there are able to answer questions about the time before and after the battle. Often find reenactors on site. It is a nice walk around the battlefield with signs along the way explaining what happened.
Love this National Battlefield. Plenty to learn here. It has nice trails to walk and learn about the battle here. Can ride bikes on the loop road. Picnic in the nice picnic area
Very interesting, comprehensive, informative, and fun! Excellent exhibits. Integrated Cowpens with the big picture of the American Revolution. One-mile easy walking trail let's you envision how it went down. Courteous and helpful Park staff.
Came with my family but didn't stay long because sadly, it was just too hot. There is lots of historical placards, statues, and info. A nice visitors center and BEAUTIFUL ground. The old trees made me feel like they would bend down and hug me. I'll return when it cools off!
Pleasant place to take a walk, enjoy a beautiful day, and learn some history along the way.
This site is fascinating due to its small size and the short length of the battle. Tarleton's forces met defeat here. Side note: Catherine Moore Barry, an ancestor of Gunsmoke's actress Amanda Blake, was one of the persons who warned the Patriots of Tarleton's approach to the area.
Interesting nice walk Well maintained visitor Center personnel very pleasant and knowledgeable
A great place to learn about the Revolutionary War.
Put it on your to do list,if it's not there. You wont be sorry
Great place to walk and ride the bike. Has a good 3 mile loop.
Very friendly knowledgeable staff, nice exhibits and movie, and easy 1-mile interpretive trail. Ongoing restoration keeps the area looking like it did at the time of the battle, 1781.
Took my father and son to this preserved site it had something for all ages. My son earned a junior ranger badge. Fun was had by all. The park facilitator and rangers were super knowledgable!
See the video at the Visitor's Center, then walk the trail. Amazing!! One of the best battlefields I have visited.
Very interesting
Historically, it is on point. The park is small enough that it can be seen in a couple of hours with the greatest of ease.
Impressive! Great information on a seminal battle. Be sure to watch the film in the welcome center. Very well done.
Great park
Very clean, refreshing, entertaining and educational. Video viewing area is ultra nice, as are the displays, merchandise and outside tour. The employees are patient, passionate and concise in their teachings.
Delightful day, delightful staff and a delightful 1 mile walk through the historic battlefield. The visitors center has a book in which many of the patriots who fought there are listed. Watch "The Patriot" movie before or after your visit as it portrrays the colonial men and especially the British commander, Tarleton, and his ruthless efforts to stamp out the revolution.
Great little park. The video shows every hour in the visitor center. I recommend trying g to time it so that you can watch the video before you walk the battlefield. The battlefield walk is short and mostly (but not entirely) shaded. We did it in about 45 and we read every sign.
Awesome location to learn about part of our history that made us a nation
Very nice place to visit
Very interesting and well kept museum..
Well kept..great descriptive video...beautiful grounds
Historically significant so worth seeing for that alone. Nothing special about the exhibits however, they do demonstrate nicely the terrain and challenges with the battle. Park Ranger was incredibly patient with several Junior Rangers.
Great piece of history. Wonderful people there to tell you about it.
I have been going here all my life. It has nurtured my love for history, for our southern culture, and for nature. I am so thankful to have grown up here and to be able to still frequent a place so full of memory for me in our rapidly changing day and age.
A very good place to learn about the American Revolution War
Great trail around the battlefield. Good visitor center with bathroom and drinking fountain. Two great videos about the revolutionary war and battle.
My daughter just learned about the revolutionary war. What a great opportunity to allow her to experience the land where battles were fought.
Great historical battlefield park. Be sure to leave time for the battlefield walk or tour. Part spongy race-track paved part gravel. Would be nice if the trail was entirely ADA compliant.
Very helpful and knowledgeable rangers and volunteers. Grounds well maintained. Movies and signage informative.
An excellent battlefield to visit for everyone, but especially those with minimal interest or experience in military conflicts, because it was a relatively small, battalion-level engagement with significant strategic impact in the Southern theater. You can walk the entire battlefield in 20 minutes. The film in the visitors center gives a terrific overview of the engagement, including the brilliant tactics and military leadership of the American General, Daniel Morgan. For military buffs, this battle pulled off one of the few double envelopments in the long history of warfare. Not bad for a provincial army. The battle was hasty, so the are no major trenches or works to see, no period cannons, but there are timely and discreet plaques placed to help you understand the battle. This battlefield is a showcase for how military scouts and commanders MUST read geographic terrain to identify the best place to face an adversary. Walk it, imagine Morgan's situation and disadvantages and you'll get a good understanding of how he turned the tables on a supposedly stronger foe. Brilliant stuff. Plan on 90 minutes and if you read up about the battlefield before hand it will enhance your understanding of our unique and compelling history. For another example of a hasty but well chosen battle space, go to Gettysburg, the mother of all American National Battlefields. Like Cowpens the choice of terrain dominated the outcome.
This was an awesome experience. To be able to walk the battlefield and see where everything happened. The trail was well laid out and easy to follow the battle progress.
Great visitors center and park. Takes about a mile to walk the entire loop of the battlefield
Excellent battlefield.Very knowledgeable staff.Walking around the battlefield gives one a true feel for how the battle developed and how both the terrain and Morgan's troop disposition worked. As the battle took place over a somewhat limited area you can walk the entire battlefield.Visitor Center has very nice presentation and film to give you background.
Nice to go to a park with nothing around it quiet
The most important Continental Army victory in the South Carolina theatre leading to the Battle of Yorktown!! A must see!
This is a great place both historical and the presentation, the history, information from the short film and the awesome self guided tour of the historical and important battlefield. I love this place and the very detailed history and importance of it both for the state and the nation.
Nice National Park with tour and some museum items, this was a major pivotal battle victory for the U.S.
Beautiful and educational park. Great staff!
Everything was wonderful! The battlefield walking tour was easy and informative. The staff knowledgeable and helpful. This is a great place to spend a day. I will come back. Thanks to the NPS and all who make this such a great place!
Very interesting film that explains the importance of this battle. Beautiful grounds.
Very nice visitor center with a video telling the story behind the Cowpens National Battlefield as a key battle during the Revolutionary War. Nice paved and gravel 1 mile battlefield walking trail. Interesting part in the history of our great country.
Nice walk good for the kids.
Nice set up. Film was informative. Definitely take take walking trail. It is much more helpful in understanding the battle than the auto tour.
Very informative
Interesting, Nice walking paths
Loved it, definite must stop for anyone who is a history buff.
